Got these today.
last chance before he leaves in his time machine.
what other shows you guys going to?
I'm gonna see meme grips at the fillmore too.
Electric Wizard tonight in boston
4-24/25-Broken World Media Fest, New Haven CT
6-28-Melvins, Hamden CT
7-5-Death Grips, Boston
7-17-Primus/Dinosaur Jr, Wallingford CT
Should I see Blur at Hyde Park in June? Tickets are £50
Stay hydrated is the most important thing. Camelbaks and EZ-Ups are essential.
Last year I took a backroad into the farm, so the traffic wasnt bad at all. My cousin who went in 2010 or 2011 said she was in line for like 8 hours.
A friend of mine was telling me to take backroads too. Its gonna be a 16 hour drive for me at least, and thats without traffic.
Im so fucking ready. I've been waiting for so long to see them.
I saw in CT in 2013 on their first US tour. Theyre super tight live.
BrIghton Music Hall is a cool place but theres fucking no where to park. I saw Boris there a couple years ago and it took me over an hour just to find a spot.
I was originally going to see Sufjan Stevens the 16th this month in Cleveland. But Green Day announced a show last minute at the House of Blues for that day. I somehow managed to get tickets so I'm going to that instead, I don't even care.
But other than that...
Modest Mouse - 4/20
Brand New - 7/2
I am seeing the following bands in July because i live in the GOAT city
Tobias Jesso Jr.
Todd Terje & The Olsens
Kurt Vile and the Violators
Mr Twin Sister
Chance the Rapper
Run the Jewels
Madlib & Freddie Gibbs
The Julie Ruin
How to Dress Well
A. G. Cook
chicago, where pitchfork holds its music fest every year
i realize the publication is a meme, but their festival is GOAT and the crowd is better than any festival crowd ive ever encountered.
>go to a show last night
>a bunch of bands play because local promoter night
>last band is a punk band
>one fucking dude slamdancing by himself running into people like a dickhead
Why are people in punk bands so cool, and why are their friends kind of shit?
you're right guys, nobody has ever made any attempts to make counterfeit tickets before and with the rise of digital tickets that may be easy to manipulate, venues haven't figured out a safe guard against shmucks.
OP is fucked.
Anyone going to Sonar in Barcelona this year? If my exams are over, which I don't know yet, I'll definitely be going.
If anyone has been there before, I'd like to know a little about the atmosphere, the crowd (is it a really chill crowd mostly there for the music or is it mostly obnoxious hipster fuccbois?)
What do you think they do, scan the foil with a scanner?
What's to stop someone from using your barcode to put your tickets on stubhub?
Aside from that your name is on the tickets and i just pulled up your facebook. Your beard is shit.
if it was as simple as typing in a barcode, you could conceivably buy one ticket just to find the numbering convention, then sell the next 10 tickets in series.
stub hub requires a physical ticket or a pdf of the digital ticket.
not sure this guy has been to many shows.
generally? some dude making minimum wage stands there with a scanning gun. you hold out ticket, or print-out, or phone. he scans. if his gun beeps and shows green, you go in. if it shows red, you get out of line and try to find someone who cares. so if someone sells the same e-ticket to 100 people on craigslist? the first one's getting in. the rest aren't. especially since this is GA. if it were assigned seating, your "official hologram ticket" may get you your seat.
read ticketfly's fine print, by the way. see what they say about this. hint: you're not going to like it.
anyway, OP, good fucking luck. sorry to shit on your enthusiasm. in the future, don't post bar or qr codes. hope you make it into your show alright.
>MFW NO SOCAL DATE FOR DEATH GRIPS
I MIGHT see Balance and Composure on the 11th at the Roxy, and then I'm seeing Agalloch June 9th at the Echoplex.
Anyone else in the Los Angeles area want to rec me some shows to go to? I never really look for shows to go to, and I always feel like I miss out.
Looking for them on BandsInTown just feels like a hassle, is there anything thats smoother and easier?
BiT just picks up everything in my Last.fm so how tf am I supposed to look through like 400 bands to find the ones I want to go see live? Through a shitty ass list that looks like this.
>tfw EW is sold out around me
Anyone else going to Swans this month at Santa Ana? I saw them last September and I was a bit disappointed going into the experience with all the praise I read about their live shows.
listen to this anon, nbomes are dangerous and even if you've tripped on them before successfully, dosage is fucked up and vasoconstriction is always around the corner. find real hallucinogens.
My dad said he wanted to see Brian Wilson for his birthday, so we're off to the new arena in Leeds for that.
Off to see Purity Ring in either Leeds or Manchester too in May. I figure since Another Eternity is only 32 minutes long, they'll play most of Shrines too.
electric wizard 4/18
austin psych fest 5/8
>Julia Holter for free tomorrow
>Drive Like Jehu
>The Soft Moon
>Death Grips (2x)
Where my LA bros at?
I'm going to Santa Ana bro.
You can scan barcodes on phones, and all you really need is the code to get in(at least with the ticketfly venues ive been to) so you could just throw this up on your phone and then youre in.
Seeing Errors tomorrow. Got tickets for ASIWYFA and Mew.
I still need to get a ticket for Super Furry Animals because my girlfriend wants me to come with her and her Dad (they're from Holyhead so it'll be the most Welsh night of my life)
Also this thread had made my look at my recommended events on last fm and there's too many good gigs coming up. I don't think I can afford/remember all of them.
4/10 - Jeff Zagers / Craow / 1mitator / MV Carbon
4/18 - The Juan Maclean
4/22 - Maria Chavez & Audrey Chen Duo / Insect Ark / Hot Guts / Mueran Humanos
5/31 - They Might Be Giants
6/4 - Holly Herndon
7/25 - Zappa Plays Zappa
I caught Swans last week (fucking awesome). I also washed my hands next to Michael Gira in the bathroom. I wanted to say something to him but I pussied out.
>Lightning Bolt + METZ
>Metro Times Blowout (Arkells, Alvvays, Fucked Up, Black Lips, Andrew W.K., PUP, Flint Eastwood, Jamaican Queens)
>Great Lake Swimmers
>Nigel & The Dropout
>Movement Festival (Squarepusher, Clark, !!!, Disclosure, Nina Kraviz)
>Unknown Mortal Orchestra
I just saw Lieutenant last night and they sucked total ass. I went for Yukon Blonde, and they were alright but they seemed really tired that night.
Nope. They're from South America and I would imagine that touring is three times as expensive as it would be for bands from North America or Europe. Which sucks, their music is excellent (fucking love III) but very excited to see them next month.
>Viet Cong is playing near me but its a 21 plus venue.
>Missed Built to Spill and Mission of Burma last couple years at the same venue
>Dinosaur Jr playing near me but its 50 bucks to see them open for Primus
Only like 3 decent bands play CT every year and this shit always happens.
Seeing Lana Del Ray in MA this summer because my gf loves her, other than that no plans
>tfw two Mats shows next week
I mean i probably wont be able to go to one but damn im gonna cum
