Post your Albums of the Decade So Far. Be honest. Don't be a contrarian faggot.
And have fun
>Ark Work is shit
>James Blake is meh
More like 2011 is meh.
>R Plus Seven is a joke
In what way?
>MBDTF is a meme
It's also the most significant piece of Pop music in years.
Agree with you completely for '10 and '11. IMO, '12 is The Idler Wheel... by Fiona Apple, '13 is Immunity by Jon Hopkins, '14 is To Be :^) by The Meme Birds, and '15 so far is objectively a tossup between Kendrick and Sufjan.
Choose Aesthethica instead. James Blake is meh and doesn't deserve to be on there. There are better albums than R Plus, and it's not even OPN's best. MBDTF is overrated, but again that's just me, it's probably fitting.
>Choose Aesthethica instead.
If you read the review you would read that it's basically Aesthethica 2.0.
>James Blake is meh and doesn't deserve to be on there.
Well you fucking faggot how about replying to what I said about 2011 instead for fuck's sake?
>There are better albums than R Plus, and it's not even OPN's best.
1. Only Loud City Song IMO.
2. I think it's his best.
>Run the Jewels
all these replies and none of them is really answering what OP wanted lol, I'll give a go though
since you posted 6, I'll just share the 6 that I've listened to the most
>For Emma, Forever Ago
>The Money Store
honorable mentions: mbdtf,, bon iver, bon iver,, watch the throne, ram, house of balloons, take care, and nwts
>Well you fucking faggot how about replying to what I said about 2011 instead for fuck's sake?
You know you can choose albums from other years of this decade, right? Dumbfuck, insulting for no reason.
WTT was such a flawed album, house of balloons has some decent tracks to excuse the fact it's the soundtrack to daterape, take care had filler and shite, nwts also... jesus christ
Damn I forgot about ISAM. I remember being pretty mixed about it, but it's still a fantastic and challenging album. In my top 10 of the year for sure. Did you see the live show accompaniment?
Gareth Liddiard - Strange Tourist
The Field - Looping State of Mind
Lil Ugly Mane - Mista Thug Isolation
Dean Blunt - The Redeemer
Big Blood - Unlikely Mothers
Napalm Death - Apex Predator
>Don't be a contrarian faggot.
Fuck off you insecure pleb.
>"I have much better taste than you."
Sufjan Stevens - Age of Adz
Portugal. The Man - In The Mountain In The Cloud
Dirty Projectors - Swing Lo Magellan
Flaming Lips - The Terror
Landlady - Upright Behavior
Sufjan Stevens - Carrie and Lowell
I just said what I listened to a lot I didn't mean what I thought was the best. WTT, Take Care, NWTS have some easy shit to listen to. WTT is my favorite album to work out to
Yeah I'm a little high right now I thought he just meant the past ten years, I realized after posting OP meant 2010s
I haven't heard 2010.
Picking a mediocre release from The Field is odd. Post-"Looping State of Mind" he's been lacking. The gimmick and the style only goes so far.
Lil Ugly Mane is utter garbage.
Dean Blunt is tremendously overrated and based on some fucking stupid aesthetic with his music like Vaporwave. I've never gotten a concrete answer about why it's good because his fans are idiots who will eat his dogshit no matter what.
2014 haven't heard.
2015 is decent but not my thing.
>all this kanye
what the shit. i thought /mu/ got past this
Fuck you, Lopatin is a genius.
If we're doing this for every year since 2010, then sure, I'll go for it:

Jam City - Dream a Garden
Kendrick Lamar - To Pimp a Butterfly
>Dean Blunt is tremendously overrated and based on some fucking stupid aesthetic with his music like Vaporwave
That this is coming from someone who finds no issue with admitting to people he enjoyed James Blake is some fantastic irony. It's almost as if you've got the two albums confused.
Sufjan Stevens - The Age of Adz
A Winged Victory for the Sullen - s/t
Laurel Halo - Quarantine
bo en - pale machine
Open Mike Eagle - Dark Comedy
Shoutouts to: &&&&&, The Idler Wheel, BisKaidan 2, and Cosmic Surgery
Well, by implying MBDTF is your #1 of the decade, you are confimed faggot
OP Confirmed for le Faggot
>I can't fucking stand Twin Shadow
is it the cheesiness in what he's doing? I love Forget more than his other two albums because it's less apparent (they're all a lot of fun for me).
that album has such a warm cozy summer night nostalgiac vibe to it
maybe it's because i'm from california

Nakay - Distort.Grind.Noise
It's good because it's atmospheric and transcendental while remaining firmly inside a pop concept. It isolates and exaggerates the traits and tropes of pop music as a means of recontextualising them, presenting them as dark, vaguely unsettling pantomimes of themselves.
Now why is James Blake good?
It's Pop with a Baroque edge, and yet it doesn't feel that way. It rings its at times folksy, at times, artsong-ish, at times full poppy stylings in the Electronic aesthetic of his work. Immensely creative.
that's unnecessarily rude, those are my favourite and most listened to releases of each year so far. i'm not appraising it based on some super vague definition of arty-ness or anything
Shit man, so many great albums were came out that year. My pick is LCD Soundsystem - This Is Happening
Kendrick - GKMC or Mac Demarco - 2
I hate 2013. I pick BoC - TH
Both Eno/Hyde albums. Those counts as double albums, right?
>struggle to find many great albums in 2010.
>Fucking Gil-Scott Heron released his last album
>Have One on Me
>Whatever LCD Soundsystem did in 2010
>MGMT released Congratulations
>The Age of Adz
Countless of good albums
Death Grips is full meme and always will be
>Not recognizing that it's the best album of the decade so far by a landslide
2010: Arcade Fire - The Suburbs
2011: Oneohtrix Point Never - Replica
2012: Efterklang - Piramida
2013: Julia Holter - Loud City Song
2014: Bahamas - Bahamas Is Afie
2015: Sufjan Stevens - Carrie & Lowell
>MGMT is awful
Have you fucking listened to Congratulations u fucking pleb? Plus you are saying High Violet is a "great" album. Fucking boring as shit old as shit sad white dad music.
He's great, but unlike the other albums I listed there. Jazz-influenced ambient electronic, highly recommended if you're into Stars of the Lid or Tim Hecker. He's about due for another album pretty soon.
>Don't be a contrarian...
My favorite albums each year are
and for this year probably TPAB or C&L. It'll take me roughly 9 more months to figure it out though.
Same, was not a huge fan of 2010
AOTDs, trying hard to avoid my bullshit niche tastes
>Gil Scott Heron & Jamie XX - We're New Here (2011)
>Karriem Riggins - Alone Together (2012) (niche but strong personal fave)
>The Robert Glasper Experiement - Black Radio (2012)
>Autre Ne Veut - Anxiety (2013)
>Bilal - A Love Surreal (2013)
>Steven Wilson - The Raven That Refused to Sing (2013)
>D'Angleo and the Vanguard - Black Messiah (2014)
>Dean Blunt - Black Metal (2014)
>Shabazz Palaces - Lese Majesty (2014) (kinda niche but same)
>Levon Vincent - Levon Vincent (2015)
AOTD overall pic related
My album of the decade so far is A Map Of All Our Failures. Holy fuck, did MDB bring their A-game on this album. Easily their best in the past decade at least.
Runner-up goes to The Flaming Lips' The Terror. Not even a huge fan of them but its particular display of abrasion and despair really does it for me.
But anon, that's not even the best album of 2013
I've never seen someone get so edgy over not liking an album.
Sorry that you lack the ability to find enjoyment in things.
Listen to his EPs from 2010. There's not a lot of singing.
CMYK > The Bells Sketch > Klavierwerke EP
Except you never listened to COngrats cause it got bad reviews u fucking turd burglar. I used to put that album on blast cause i was buttblasted but then i listened to it a lot and then realized its the GOAT neo-psych album. Better than boring ass animal collective's discog and way better than tame impala's derivative ass. I like both of those bands tho
>Except you never listened to COngrats cause it got bad reviews
Hey, buddy, that's your neuroses. Not mine.
worst years: 2006, 2010, 2014
best year: 2009 no contest
Those are all strange ways to say Thundercat
Fuck you; I won't do what you tell me.
can we be friends too?
gorilla manor is really up there on my lists too but 2009 was an incredibly good year for music. gorilla manor is 28 on my favorite albums of all time but the next 27 albums have 8 albums from 2009.
2010: Bonobo - Black Sands
2011: Digitalism - I Love You, Dude
2012: Crystal Castles - (III)
2013: Hybrid Minds - Mountains
2014: The Polish Ambassador - Pushing Up Through the Pavement
2015: Etienne de Crecy - Super Discount 3
The music I listen to these days is probably centered around 2011-2012.
Quick and honest question: how do you guys give yourselves that much authority to say "Albums of the Decade"?
Fuck, I can barely say I have an album as my favorite because I keep thinking I haven't listened to enough shit to be able to properly have an opinion
Spaces is a very good choice (have you heard his new album?). Moderat, I don't remember loving but will revisit. Yosi, I'm unfamiliar but will check out.
This is me for some context >>54854751
2010: Arcade Fire - The Suburbs
2011: Fleet Foxes - Helplessness Blues
2012: Kendrick Lamar - GKMC
2013: Daft Punk - R.A.M.
2014: RTJ - RTJ2 (didn't really follow music much this year)
2015: Sufjan Stevens - Carrie & Lowell (so far)
I think TPAB > GKMC, but C&L was just that good. MBDTF, Brothers, This is Happening, Channel Orange, Idler Wheel, Blunderbuss, Yeezus, and ...Like Clockwork all deserve honorable mentions. 2012 was a pretty great year, actually.

first of all derivative is never necessarily a bad thing
second jon hopkins takes no influence from Nine Inch Nails (said with the most derision possible) or Tycho. His much is much more interesting than either.
>Brave Little Abacus - just got back from the discomfort - we're alright
>Bon Iver - Bon Iver, Bon Iver
>Kishi Bashi - 151a
>Sampha - Dual EP
>FlyLo - You're Dead!
>Kendrick Lamar - TPAB
Order Of The Shadow : Act I - Psyclon Nine
Sunbather - Deafheaven
The Money Store - Death Grips
Abandon All Life - Nails
To Pimp A Butterfly - Kendrick Lamar
Psychic, hands down.
Also, if you haven't seen Darkside live, consider crying in a corner. I was really sad when they disbanded, wasn't even counting on another album, just another opportunity to see them live
Yeah this list is rubbish and doesn't fit the criteria.
Just thought I'd share.
is it one a year? i just picked six I think are the best from 2010-2015.
I either didn't get the joke or you are mislead, I can't tell.
Either way it was written in 1996 friend and is their best album to date. Enjoy.
TWIABP probably my favorite so far of the decade.
1. trust - joyland
2. susanne sundfor - the silicone veil
3. sturgill simpson - metamodern sounds in country music

I don't have one
Oneohtrix Point Never - Replica
Fang Island - Major; or, The Money Store - Death Grips
Deafheaven - Sunbather
Either Salad Days - Mac Demarco or The Hotelier - Home, Like Noplace is There
