Alt R&B + Glitch + Vaporwave = The Future

Gunge - Wet Look
Pet Sounds was already outdated upon release. There were tons of albums that where alike before and after.
and what ways? the compositional style of pet sounds still remains one of a kind especially in terms of pop music, where every instrument is a part of a harmony and every part was so well thought.
For example, the bass parts almost never plays the root note, it usually just plays chord tone and sometimes not even chord tones but just notes from the scale. Brian did that to make the bass more of a harmonic instrument rather than a rhythmic one. The melodies also pretty much never revolves around the tonic (same with the vocal harmonies, and same with the strings and the additonal instruments). Everything about is so well thought and complex, but yet sounds pretty simple and most importantly absolutely beautiful.
I'd love it if you can show me an artist/album that uses this style of compositional structure before (lol) or after pet sounds.
Put Yeezus back on you pussy. That album is extremely forward thinking and post-ironic, post-post-modern. Also pic related.
AH NO NO NO IT'S NOT COMPLETED YET
You forgot to add this
I really think TMS should be replaced with NOTM, in my honest opinion.
Also, that's cool that Biophilia is on there because that's one of her best even though it gets shit on all the time.
bartholomaus traubeck - years
this guy took some trees and transformed the lines of the wood into sound. music directly based on plants is the future.
if this is not forward thinking then I am an egg
literally the least funny and laziest meme on /mu/
