If you had to rec a japanese album which one would you.
if you haven't heard this album then what on earth are you doing with your existence?
OP's album or (sorry for small) pic related.
Of course I haven't delved very deep but they're my faves
Also The book about my idle plot on a vague anxiety- Toe
I've got this
miaou - All around us
3nd - world tour
jizue - novel
ovum - ascension
nuito - unutella
All beautiful. Since you guys seem to know more about math rock, is there any good female fronted math rock other than Tricot (not necessarily japanese)?
Post good japanese new wave please!
Kinoko Teikoku - Eureka
Best Boris, also the most accessible.
also great choice, but he's not japanese
hell yeah mah man
pic related for me
This album and the netlabel it came from (Bunkai-Kei) are both electronic music goldmines.
This is a good one. I prefer their earlier albums though.
Pic related is a real gem of post-hardcore
This album is just fucking beautiful.
seriously though just check out some traditional shit on wikipedia page, sure you'll find something
or see if this takashi guy from my link has some solo stuff. He probably does since he plays traditional japanese music when he doesn't team up with hawaiian slide guitarists.
Ah yeah.. but not very much. Pink is pretty fucking accesible though
sorry I kinda forgot they released like 10 albums since I listened to them a lot (now just every know and then)
Shugo Tokumaru is so damn great
also fucking awesome
this album's really great, it genre hops all over the place
yeah, both of those albums are stellar. port entropy would easily have my favourite if it didn't just drop off after rum hee and laminate, but at least the front half is built like a killer ep
Not only do those songs sound nothing alike, but they are trying to accomplish two VERY different things. I seriously hope you're trolling or you have the wrong tags on your songs
How could you think New Person is their best song. It's so fucking lazy and unambitious. There's some neat production but that's literally all the song has going for it.
>>55037784 is me btw
Don't mind me, just the GOAT Japanese traditional folk album coming through
Anyone else listen to this? I downloaded it on a whim and ended up enjoying it.
Long Season from 98.12.28> All
Seriously an amazing live performance.
Unless you count long season as one song, it's nothing close to being lazy or unambitious. New person strikes the perfect balance from their catchy dub and psychedelic sides. If you want me to rank their albums, I'd say most of their earlier stuff is way too generic rock/dub, and they don't really come into their own till Orange, and even that is pretty standard. Long Season was a successful experiement and their best work, and kuchu camp is next best, then uchu nippon setagaya I guess. I haven't thought about ranking their albums before
Okay you have a fair point. New Person is a good song I was just being argumentative. I still think the rest of Aerial Camp isn't enough to make it any better than Orange at most.
They're an incredible band though, if we can both agree on that
I figured you weren't being 100% serious
and yes we can
new serph album coming out next week. listen to the full album on soundcloud now
like this song a lot
Recommended Japanese Music (version 44.00)
Some unpretentious, incredibly fun blues rock:
>tfw nobody gives any love to fishmans best song
reccing along with
>boredoms' pop tatari
>takako minekawa's fun9
>acid mothers temple - new geocentric world of acid mothers temple
>ghost's first two albums (1984 band, not the buttmetal band)
>ooioo - feather float
>imahoritsuneoyoshidatatsuya - dots
yeah same the first track is pretty tough, but the rest have amazing moments, its kinda long-winded though
>>imahoritsuneoyoshidatatsuya - dots
The guy is a great keyboardist
his 2012 album is gr8 too
