What are some albums that convinced you to download them from cover art alone?
Best black metal release of 2015 and best cover art of 2015
An Irish Folk album which came out in 1999.
I found it on a sharethread a while back, the cover along convinced me to download it.
Also favourite record of 2015 so far
I bought pic related because of nice cover art. It's actually good too.
its hideous and i love it
check i out if you've ever felt the urge to the hear R.E.Ms take on a southern gothic
You Can't Take It With You - As Tall As Lions
I knew of him before but this is still one of the best cover arts I've seen.
Extremely glad I did too. Was exactly what I was hoping for from the cover, and a whole lot more.
Seriously, it is that good
Mirror (Andrew Chalk, Christoph Heemann) has really great album art. So far I prefer Andrew Chalk's solo albums though.
I have the red version printed on... hand-made paper (?), it looks pretty cool. http://www.discogs.com/Ksi%C4%99%C5%BCyc-Ksi%C4%99%C5%BCyc/release/1308045
Never heard any of their stuff and this was really cool
Should listen to more like it
The music isn't my thing, unfortunately. Upbeat chiptune + piano, sounds like something a happy fan of vintage video games would love.
Jung an Tagen – Äussere
It's also pretty good. Very repetitive, sounds almost like it's the same catchy but slightly dissonant melody throughout that's constantly interrupted and starts again. I think I can hear a Oneohtrix Point Never influence too.
This one very recently. I kept giving it a try, being put off because of how different it sounds from how I imagined, and then coming back just for the artwork. I finally decided to give it a full try this time, and I fucking loved it. It's a really good album.
I actually thought about making a thread like this last night.
Additional challenge: Album covers that are significantly better than the actual album.
At least their later albums are all incredible (with the exception of Chiastic Slide). I think TDR should be sued for false advertisement on this one, though. It should have been the cover for Tri Repetae instead.
I had something similar. I expected it to sound more spacey and ambient judging by the album artwork, but what I got sounded way too lively.
Eventually I went in expecting that, and found it's really good, and once you actually get the album, you realize that the cover fits surprisingly well.
Found it just a few days before the RYM review
and pic related are the trifecta of album arts
You think Bloom's nicer looking than Teen Dream?
Teen Dream's palewave as fuck
