I'm really looking forward to this summer. Reflecting Records will hopefully be up and running with two of our very own from /mu/ and an eccentric glitch artist from Ohio. You'll be seeing me on compilations from Xenomorph Records, Cellar Door Tapes, an Electronomicon/Dhatura Records joint effort, and the Electronomicon Republic.
I really have to agree with the other guy above, there's nothing wrong at all, but there's not much that really grabs me. It kinda reminds me of a wilder, twangy-er version of Blind Melon and some other alternative 90s stuff. Stemming from my own tastes, I'd tone everything down a bit, but there's really nothing wrong at all.
Great cover! I'm really digging rain delay. wheel and untitled are wonderful.
> experimental, new wave post-rock, hints of western
NEW ALBUM OF ALL IMPROVISED JAM RECORDINGS OUT TONIGHT.
get fucking hyped
Playing is kinda sloppy, and there is very little atmosphere or build-up. Props on being an actual band with multiple members though. For being recorded in a studio it sounds like shit, hope you didn't pay too much.
One or two synth textures droning on for a few minutes a piece. Completely lacks substance, could be made in an afternoon with audacity. The font in your artist profile pic looks like something a brostep artist would use.
Your ear for comparisons is really bad, neither sounds anything at all like the bands you mentioned. Songs are good, catchy, maybe flesh them out a bit, include a bridge with your verses and choruses every once in a while. Nothing new but I never expect innovation in this genre tbh (nix the damn experimental tag, it's misleading).
Nondescript. Synths range from bland to cheesy. Melodies is weak. I'd listen to this once and then forget about it completely. The solos are frankly embarrassing.
The old thread isn't dead yet but okay.
>music to make you feel bad, dark ambient, harsh noise, angstpop
I'm currently working on a small acoustic album with a few acoustic covers and some originals, for now I just wanna share this particular track, my own interpretation of Agalloch's "Kneel To The Cross", with some influences from the original song written by Sol Invictus. I'm almost certain you'll like it, I did my best to blend elements from both the original and Agalloch's cover, while adding my own bluesy influences for something unique.
Also check out a song from my band's upcoming EP
>new tape release
>for fans of mount eerie and low
>seriously one of the strongest debut EPs I've ever heard, beautifully produced too
super excited to put this thing out.
Since Sol Invictus is a personal favorite of my mine, I listened to your cover. While the mixing of the guitar is a bit too intrusive for my personal taste, the cover is pretty neat and you certainly gave it your own spin.
I downloaded the EP and will listen to it later.
Thanks for the listen, the feedback, and the download man. It's super appreciated. As a fan of both Agalloch and Sol Invictus, I guess I've been hoping other fans would appreciate my take, and I'm glad you did. I won't defend the mixing on it, my recording process is pretty raw and bare-bones, haha.
>my best work
> alt. / acoustic / indie rock / emo
new release from new group
Rad shit. Lo-fi songsters take note, this is how you do it. Maybe turn up the volume a bit on some of them.
Solo stuff is cool, sounds good. Songs kinda go on for too long imo. Your band's song is way too compressed, it sounds artificial.
Shit, you're prolific. Listened to some stuff off the first two. Wouldn't say I feel bad, more like watching a camp horror movie than anything. Like the ambient ones better than the ones with beats, which are just cheesy to the max. Have the same problem with it that I do with a lot of dark ambient, though. Sounds like you recorded an empty room and put some reverb on it.
Lay off the reverb, sounds like it was recorded in a gymnasium. Acoustic guitar sounds pinched and nasally, drums are too boom-y. Overall, it's very chaotic sounding, but not in a good way. Sounds like everything's fighting to be heard over everything else.
Great stuff, might cop. Very mellow, good vibes. Cool use of field recordings. C-22 seems a bit long though, there's gonna be a ton of blank space at the end of each side.
Sorry I didn't like your band you tearful manbaby.
stoners / comedy / noise rock / aleatoric
>beautiful and detailed songs
My friend played this song yesterday and I was kinda surprised to learn it was from his high school classmate. A lot of the stuff he uploaded was amateurish, but there's a few songs with really progressive beat selection and his flow isn't horrible. Don't really know what to call it, clear hip-hop and free verse influences
Thanks for the listen and the critique! Much appreciated and it's definitely thosethings I'm currently working on to improve that kind of stuff.
>Have the same problem with it that I do with a lot of dark ambient, though.
You might want to give the third thingie, "Todessektion Terra", a listen. This one has a lot more going on throughout.
Impossible to criticize. Don't charge money for this bullshit though.
Cool stuff. Would be interested to see a huge list of all the samples you use. It's obvious that genuine care went into making this. Rich in detail without demanding too much attention, would be good as either ambiance or an active listen. Get better graphic design.
Reminds me of Andrew Bird, Ted Leo, et al. Melodies meander a bit for my taste. Sounds tight as fuck. You guys are better when you rock out, the slow stuff is kinda boring.
Point me to it, brohan.
I posted in the other thread but i want>>55329518
to rip me a new one
Best tracks are I, Reprise, One thousand and I pt 1
Will rate after i listen some
thanks! there's actually a bonus track on the tape edition, the length of the tape is spaced out almost perfectly. I made a point to make it that way as long spaces at the end of sides always bugs me.
Male vocalist needs to stop worrying so much about affecting a hard rock voice and try to sing in tune. A lot of my problems with this stem from the fact that the recording is beyond shitty, you need to work with your garbage set-up, not against it. The guitar playing is often in poor taste, branch out from the palm-muted power chords a bit. Sounds like it was fun to record anyway. Album cover is supremely stupid, though I doubt you care about that.
Oh cool, yeah. I agree on that count.

> black metal/experimental/post rock

the second track of the first thing is cool pavement like, the rest has good concepts but goes bad, definitely agree about holdin back a bit
2nd track ruined the vibe, 1st and 3rd were decent and "would play doom to" tier, but that 2nd track just destroys the whole vibe >>55328682
I like it, songs are a little too long, but i like it
we need the listens, we need the shares, we need the downloads. please guys its literally 2.5 mins long and we need this album to go viral. we need people to listen to our album. please listen to it. its short and we literally need it be popular okay so please give it a listen. its like 2.5 mins long okay surely you can spare that much time just listen to it and help it become viral please. please listen to it. we care so much about people listening to our album and if it doesn't become popular then what was the point in even making it right? we're sure fellow musicians will agree. so listen to it please and help us become famous. please

My new band, we just released this, give it a listen if you are into screamo!
>shoegaze, emo, jangle, post-rock, black metal
new instrumental for thing I'm working on
Somehow i was hooked, and then the loger i listened the less i liked it
There's some major potential here, production is lousy, out of key vocals was cool then you went overboard, but it could be better
gave me a 007 goldeneye feel, i like it (007 goldeneye is prolly a bad comparision, its the first thing that came to mind though)>>55330231
I like how laid back and chill it is, rad stuff>>55330133
I feel like you could go a bit harsher and really reach for the gusto with your stuff, i feel half chub when i listen to it
production is lame, but i like the old school vibe with the chick vocals, your cover art makes me not wanna listen to it though so change that shit

You seem like you're good at not sugar coating things, you should give our music a listen and tear it apart pls
Seriously I wish there were more people like this in these threads
I usually just lurk these threads, but I have to say that you are REALLY onto something. This was a great listen and I look forward to hearing more from you in the future. Then again, I'm just a guy in a chair.
>noise rock, industrial

Loving this, great production and catchy song. That odd drop at 1:58 was actually super cool. Also a MD guy, do you do live shows? I'd love to get some friends together to come up and see you play.
Really liking this, it's got a 90's Sloan and Teenage Fanclub feeling. Definitely worth listening to.
