This probably describes at least 25% of you faggots.
You're a bunch of pseudo-intellectuals using music as another part of your image
Only pseudo-intellectuals use the term pseudo-intellectuals
Those boots look like ass, I stopped smoking, and only drink wine as part of a meal. I do need to read some Nietzsche though.
I like those albums and I've read "The Idiot" but that's it.
Pic related its me
>some of the greatest works of literature
>a great album, a good album, an okay album and a subpar album
>the most boring of addictions
>literally a pair of shoes
>discrediting sincere authors that have written pieces that changed the humanities and the face of philosophy in general
>because of some sort of mental image in your head
>complaining about image
literally kill yourself you waste of air.
1/5 btw try harder
you sure got me op ;^)
i wear similar shoes, listen to that music, i smoke cigarettes, read camus but i dont drink wine, only hard liquor on occasion.
should i just off myself now or later ?
>some of the greatest works of literature
If you're a 16 year old boy having his first existential crisis
Those are boots you enormous nerd
>Having a reason to kill yourself
lmao fucking faggot nice trips btw
You wouldn't be making fun of me irl I'd fucking kick you're ass
My sister gave me a copy of Crime and Punishment in high school and I pirated the rest
The list goes on
>My sister gave me a copy of Crime and Punishment in high school and I pirated the rest
Then what are they about?
>Why read books when you can post dank memes instead?
Because you can actually learn something from books.
by good i mean i have nothing wrong with it. people can smoke if they want to. why do you object to people living a life that they want without breaking any laws?
people who are "smoke/drug" detractors are pathetic
>The spoken word on that album is edgy as shit. It's a good album, but you can't deny that.
It's edgy, but I don't think of it as being existentialist so much as mere political ramblings.
Yeah. I dont argue that second-hand smoking exists. You're completely right. I dont even smoke myself.
That being dead I hope you get lung cancer from second hand smoking because your annoyance of smoking is far worse than the act of smoking (in an objective sense ofcourse, explanation is not needed).
>>>Those books look like ass
>You wouldn't be making fun of me irl I'd fucking kick you're ass
Underage and pissed as h*ck.
Are you upset at my use of objective? My first statement is obviously true, the second is in line with any reasonable ethical system, and the third follows from the first two.
I never complain about smoking irl since I know doing so wouldn't have any effect. I have friends that smoke and I don't tell them to quit, but if they choose to I encourage them. I cause almost no annoyance to anyone but you and anyone in this thread sharing your opinion. We can agree that the act of smoking is far worse than the act of annoying you.
b8 and exploited
Why are you so angry? Are you autistic? Do you have Asperger's? What's going on?
>Are you upset at my use of objective?
No. I literally just told you I agree'd with everything you said in your argument. I just dont like basement dwellers who feel the need to preach their ideology all over an anime image board
nice fit would wear
>I found this meme on lit
>I like to meme
you're a fucking faggot.
>its highscool lit so it's for children!!
" Hermann Hesse enjoyed Dostoyevsky's work and cautioned that to read him is like a "glimpse into the havoc" "
" Franz Kafka called Dostoyevsky his "blood-relative" "
" James Joyce praised Dostoyevsky's prose: "... he is the man more than any other who has created modern prose, and intensified it to its present-day pitch. It was his explosive power which shattered the Victorian novel with its simpering maidens and ordered commonplaces; books which were without imagination or violence." "
" Virginia Woolf said, "Out of Shakespeare there is no more exciting reading" "
ranking those not best to worst but just by how much I like them
swoons > gy!be > jd > hanl
>posting multi-paragraph responses to marginalize a perceived minority of people on the Cantonese finger puppet message board is fun
Consider the intrinsic futility and worthlessness of your life right now.
>tfw I haven't read any of those novels, and only one other Dostoevsky
>tfw don't smoke
>tfw I don't consider any one of those albums among my favourites (but consider them all decent to good)
>tfw I don't own a pair of boots
>tfw only drink red wine because of my lady
Only more embarrassing than smoking is using these vapor things.
I don't smoke cigarettes or drink wine (I do smoke weed and drink cider though), I wear these boots and I've read Crime & Punishment.
Reading popular/influential literature doesn't make you a pseudo-intellectual. There's a reason those books are popular, it's only cringey if you think you're better than anyone else just for reading them.
Doc Martens are ugly as sin.
Good wine is expensive as fuck.
I fucking hate Nietzsche and I've never bothered with Russian literature, I prefer German authors.
Camels are shit smokes.
I hate those albums.
Also, Existentialism and all that bleak kinda shit is depressing as fuck.
I like Godspeed, HANL, and early Swans.
That's pretty much the only thing from that pic that fits me.
>not being straight edge
>never bothered with russian lit
>i prefer German authors
1. you're not making any sense
2. " Franz Kafka called Dostoyevsky his "blood-relative" "
3. " Hermann Hesse enjoyed Dostoyevsky's work and cautioned that to read him is like a "glimpse into the havoc" "
What your point when you throw all those names at me?
Yes, krauts write books.
Yes, krauts also read books, apparently even books from Russia.
You're not really saying anything that isn't common knowledge.
1.) like and endorse are two different things, 2.) I'm not even sure that's entirely true.
I only see them opposed in that Kierkegaard is a Christian and Nietzsche is vehemently anti. Other than that they have a similar methodology and respect for the passions.
Maybe, I dunno what either says about music. Either way that's not enough to say that they're completely opposed, that's just one thing that they disagree on, and even that I'm not sure. I've read Kierkegaard talk about the demoniacal before and it doesn't sound like the opposite of something that living would be a mistake without.
>all these people trying to prove how wrong OP is about them.
how ironic that so many have to prove they're not anxious image fags by "disproving" OP claiming they don't do that shit, or attempt to justify their behaviour if they do. only goes to show you actually do care way too much about what people think of your taste.
how about formulating a set of values and guidelines to orient yourself after to find some integrity and meaning with your existence? existentialism is not the same as selfish hedonism or abandonment of all decency.
5/11 for me. I wear Vans, I like Soundtracks, Closer and Godspeed, I've read Zarathustra (even based a song off of it) and Crime And Punishment, i prefer white wine, and I smoke Marlboros.
They certainly aim for different things. I wouldn't consider Dostoevsky to be a great writer, but the themes of his work are certainly more applicable outside of Russian culture than the work of Pushkin or a lot of others.
>You're a bunch of pseudo-intellectuals using music as another part of your image
might be late to the party but this is totally a 100% original sentiment that no one on this board has EVER posed before hand
this is a real eye opener OP
haha but seriously fuck off
Wouldn't you agree that being an edgelord is not about what you read/listen to etc. but how you behave (with respect to that)? Most people who like these books and bands go through the unbearable edge phase, but you can get over that by getting more well read/"listened" - after that you can still appreciate them while not being an autist.
yeah, of course I use music as part of my 'image'
Everything I'm passionate about becomes part of my image (as it should for everyone). I have no problem being 'that guy who love punk' or 'who know a small block chevy inside and out' or a 'huge Mariners fan' these are all things I love, why wouldn't I use them as part of my image?
I mean if I were to see a hot chick pull up in a Chevelle with lopey cams wearing a Mariners cap and a Ramones shirt you think I wouldn't pimp the fuck out of that image to get in her pants?
there's a difference between accepting that certain things (like music) may be a part of how people see you and using music to purposefully try to direct or convey a certain image. Basically trying to force an image on yourself, no matter how that may be, is autistic as fuck
> trying to force an image on yourself, no matter how that may be, is autistic as fuck
only if you do it poorly. Everyone has an image and socially successful people know what their's is and empathsize / demphasize aspects of it depending on the situation. And not always in a crass manner either - why would I bore a girl who doesn't even know how to check her oil by blathering on about how much better roller rocker cams are? I'm gonna try and figure out what she enjoys and play to that - thats just how one has a decent conversation for starters
