you'd have to be fukn omniscient to dance to objekt in the club. trying not to look like you're medically mental when that tune comes on is an exercise in dance move damage control
>like it were an afx remix of the macarena
both autechre and objekt are literally glorified bleep techno
could somebody possibly direct me to some tunes in the same vein as the material on this comp? i've been loving the shit out of it. i get that it's essentially deep house but i like the eastern sounds.
>drukqs is acid techno cause its made by the same guy as afx

if someone has La Ronde I and can upload I will be greatly grateful for it

you mean this one? >>55494770
I have it on vinyl, I could rip it, but that won't be for the next few days
Might go and see Dixon/Axel Boman/Midland on Sunday too.
Eclectric isn’t scary: we just play music we like dancing to until we have to go home. Its history is long – we’re seven this term – and surprisingly complicated, but in its current incarnation it dates back to about 2008, when TJ Hertz (now better known to many as Objekt, but who was once an Engineering student at New College) started putting on the likes of Claro Intelecto, Appleblim and Shackleton.
Since then the reins have changed hands with the passing of time and finals, but the mission statement remains the same, and will do for the foreseeable future: to keep bringing Oxford the best and most challenging dance music being produced in the UK, with the odd foreign import chucked in for good measure.
Here’s a measure of our pedigree, for quality and eclecticism: in the past two years we’ve had the likes of Blawan, Kyle Hall, Pangaea, Girl Unit and Pearson Sound to name but a few; coming up in the next few weeks we have the wonkily euphoric Lone, and Objekt himself, returning from Berlin to do his tuff broken techno thing.
These names might not mean that much to you, but that shouldn’t put you off. My favourite part of running Eclectric is discovering things I haven’t heard before, and it happens dozens of times every night. If you think you’re even slightly interested in techno, or house, or dubstep, or grime, it’ll be worth your while checking Eclectric out, promise.

fyi if you trying posting and you see the ones about burgers it's a pardner thread
Going to this.
Lineup isn't amazing but Joy O, Kink, Kurupt FM, Leon Vynehall, MCDE and maybe Newham Generals and Wookie should be decent.
I think you mentioned them in B+B once?
Anyway I'm not very familiar with their d&b stuff I'll admit, I mostly just go to the 4x4 when I need to turn mi head off.
UK hardcore (these fucking confusing genre names) is the GOAT zone-out music.
I mean, it's gonna get rid of the undesirable crowd, which is good.
But I doubt people here would care about UK Garage much either.
I mean the entire reason I want to make something happen is because I want to go to dubstep nights and the like.
IT'S ABOUT THE BANG K M8
That sounds like me. I don't follow much UK Hardcore but I like Fracus & Darwin. I'm listening to the new DJ Shimamura album now and it sounds like the sort of thing that would get released on Hardcore Underground. It is amongst the ultimate pleb genres but I do quite like UK Hardcore sometimes.
Fenix? Haven't heard it yet but will get to it.
Unrelated but Illustrations on Cylon goes. That RA review though:
>Notion's "Sawshawk" is DMZ-style dubstep hammered into drum & bass
Yeah Fenix. It's more like TRAX and MAX than Power Slam Dynasty Collective Vol. 1 and SX but it's still alright.
I'll have to give that comp a listen. Wasn't sure if I could be arsed with it at first but maybe it'll be cool.
A lot of people on Dred Collective
Sounds interesting. However it won't top my Comp of the year, which is already decided and I can't think of anything topping it.
>talking shit about objekt
christ you guys are funny. can you tell me why exactly you find him pretentious and why you think his music is an autechre ripoff?
(if you really think objekt is a hack then you're fucking deaf)
get a life guys, seriously.
going to pearson sound in oxford tomorrow
weirdly, in oxford mayday is like the biggest night of the year. a choir sings from magdalen tower at 6am and its apparently beautiful/fucking weird if youre on a comedown. everyone goes out and gets fucked, stays out til 6 to hear the choir then carries on partying at the street party outside magdalen. this is my first year here so ive yet to try it, should be fun
actually on that RDJ account on soundcloud (user39757539050! or whatever) there is a tune with a beat that sound exactly like the one in unglued, i bet Richard was digging his tunes, it really wouldn't surprise me
And now I might be going to this too.
RIP my wallet
leeds is fucking fantastic, no one gives a shit. theres no actual music coming out of leeds but in terms of nightlife it's unbeatable in the UK...imo it even tops london, because of the small/communal feel and designated huge student communities like headingley and hyde park. where im sure must be the highest concentrations of ket and nitrous oxide in the world
Yeah, I go to University in York, travel to Leeds fairly often for nights out. My friends here are all clean cut, then I travel to Leeds and my friend's house is just littered with cannisters and looks like a crack den and there always seems to be some good event on. Just walking through the Hyde Park area and I'll see posters for dozens of events I'd like to go to.
