basically been wearing variations of this for a year I blame depression
tbh I don't smell like anything if I don't wear perfume (issei miyake l'eau d'issey) because all products I use are odourless
and yeah a lot of Foxy Brown and Remy Ma lately
looks like pic is your favorite album
only male mcs I listen to are cakes da killa and big momma :(
Radio-rock, whatever was cool when you were 15.
idk, deafheaven and liturgy get some hate but are pretty good, but you def should listen to some boris and slowdive
>looks like pic is your favorite album
it isn't actually but still listen to it like once a year
also a bit of "dad-rock" but you aren't embarrassed/phased by the hipsters
Are you that guy?
>idm, folk, world music
eh, I dabble in all of them but I wouldn't call them favourites
Math Rock is a very rich and rewarding genre
This essentials chart helped me a lot.
There are also regular /math/ generals here with real friendly guys.
Also I recommend Guided by Voices, very similar vein to MM and pavement.
i can crop it for u if it makes you feel better
>being a cartoon character
I basically do it, but change the colour/pattern of my shirt.
It's always long-sleeve shirt and button-fly jeans though, unless I don't care about looking like shit.
I mean in the sense that I'm not relying on fashion memes and instead I have an outfit that I know works and I can focus on things that are actually important in my life
Is my taste bad? I know graphic tee or whatever. Any tips?
Also yeah, Tame Impala and Neon Indian are both artists I like. BMSR and AnCo, neo-psych in general I guess, even though that's a blanket term that could go up against "alternative" for actually telling you what the music sounds like.
Trying too hard to look alternative while actually looking as mainstream as toilet paper. Most likely 12-14. People hang around you but not with you. Mumford and Sons on repeat no doubt.
i mean if achieving success and fulfillment in your lief is completely independent from presenting a favorable image of yourself to others...
you want to know what almost all rich people have in common? they dress well.
Post-ironic freak folk
Whatever you feel like. Ambient, if we want to go full stereotype.
Amenra, Oathbreaker, Calendula. At least, my ex who dressed like that listened to those bands.
That was needlessly hostile. Why is it that people assume that others are trying to look a certain way? I wear those things because I enjoy how they look, not really out to impress anyone with how INDIE XD i am. I can understand thinking my taste is shit tho I suppose.
Don't know many to be honest, mainly wrote it cos I was listening to these guys earlier in the day and I happened to remember the fact that they label themselves freak folk
memeshirt (bought from a shady asian website which presents the clothes in an incredibly flattering manner, you can almost see the clips they've used in the back of the mannequin to make the shirt look slim and like it accentuates a v-shaped torso, when in reality it's a blocky piece of shit)
everything but the glasses are just neo hippie nonsense, I mean it works in a festival context but not really anywhere else, I suggest getting a pair of sand boots and some vintage sportswear tees, maybe look into the few jean shorts that look good (levi's on eBay is always a good choice)
That's fair. Have an enjoyable day friendo.
>tfw no qt /mu/friend stylist to dress me in the morning
All the rest of you dress like faggots. Including myself so I can't judge. I'm a very boring fashion person apparently.
all these converse.. yikes
Not the t-shirt, the button up.
Anyway, it's not like it's all horrible and you necessarily dress like shit (except the cargo shorts), it's just a compilation of different items that have gained meme-status on the internet for one reason or another.
there's nothing wrong with the shirt or the boots really (I would switch them out for a pair of classic martens or their lookalikes from vegetarian shoes) but that hoodie is _very_ h&m and the stitches and buttons on the jeans are... something else. get a classic light grey zip-up hoodie from like dickies or something (quality that you can wear any type of jacket over) and start investing in some slim jeans from cheap monday (if you're on a budget) or acne (if you can spend $250 on jeans that is)
I'm on someone else's computer, but I like The Wedding Present (literate crooner noise pop/jangle pop), Knapsack (emo punk/midwest emo), 16 Horsepower (gothic country/alt-country/neo-folk), Grave Babies (lo-fi goth, deathrock, noise pop, witch house), Serge Gainsbourg (French Pop), The Front Bottoms (pizzacore emo-influenced folk-punk), and Babyshambles (literate garage rock revival).
What do you suppose I wear?
What should I wear if I like renaissance classical, modal jazz, krautrock and minimal techno?
Don't know how to express myself through clothes :o
>tfw Gosling keeps biting your style
>tfw the majority of my clothes come from Walmart
Roughly like this. Close cropped hair, well-fitting jeans, leather chelsea boots, and tight t-shirts (sometimes v-necks), collared plaid shirts, and dark long-sleeved shirts (often waffle shirts)
you like Grouper & King Dude & Cult of Youth
Am I supposed to rate that? uh. Hobo-punk, like Devil's Coachwhip or Wingnut Dishwasher Union
...post-rock? Post-punk? Probably post punk.
Hard to say. Something like Soap & Skin maybe. Vali or Death in June. You were spot on the Grouper & people combo.
Frat-core, and obscure techno.
I'll just type it out due to laziness. I wear black or grey skinny jeans, a slouch beanie, a beat up pair of Sperry shoes, a band t shirt (usually post punk. Pere Ubu, The Screamers, etc). Also flannel (open). In fall/winter, a denim jacket, a member's only jacket, or a pea coat.
i always get in late on shit like this
Hip hop, mostly mainstream stuff but you also like a few select "weirder" groups on the side.
L O N D O N
i'm surprised that everyone immediately guessed neofolk
i mean, you're correct, but do i really look like that much of a Nazi at first glance?
yes, except for dark ambient which is mostly boring
>Hard to say. Something like Soap & Skin maybe. Vali or Death in June.
also yes on all counts
it's all kind of classic mid twenties I listen to minimal and older alt stuff look really, u wanted to express your taste in music through clothes and that's what I read into it based on the stuff u listed : )
Don't pull it off well since I'm 50 pounds too fat but you get the picture
a chubby guy who is into belle & sebastian and brant bjork, das cute
Links are some stuff I listen to.
Here's a couple more things I listen to.
I pretty much look like the singer of Titus Andronicus mixed up with the protagonist of Inherent Vice.
The upcoming Hatred OST
The lighter kind of Post-Punk
IDM but mostly Rock music.
