>tfw your grind albums are still in your last fm collage
BM for this feel
I abide by the code of honour and chivalry, so to all those who repeatedly insult me on forums hiding behind their computer screen: I am available at anytime of the day for a fistfight or any type of sword or crossbow duel. I just purchased an automatic pistol crossbow. It's a mix between a gun and a crossbow, it's like a pistol but it fires arrows. I killed a goat with a shot in the stomach at point-blank range by alluring it with grass; the beast died three hours later. I will do the same with you. I know that you like grass, like all sheep do.
Anyone else hyped for the new Anna von Hausswolff? I guess she's kind of on the fringes of black metal but it sounds like she's coming pretty close with this new one.
damn this was great
some of the tracks feels way too groovy to actually be BM though
i met this guy with his band at a local cafe one time. they were all super nice. but when i called them black metal they corrected me and said they were war metal
>the discussion about lossless music in the old thread
Convert one of your FLAC files into 320kbps or v0 via LAME and do a blind listening test (ABX) betwen the FLAC and the newly converted mp3 file and see if you can successfully pick out the difference without the bias, I'll tell you: you can't.
The purpose of keeping your music in FLAC is to be able to recreate the original CD without any data loss, in other words FLAC is good for archiving your music and make a backup of your original CD, for listening mp3 is fine.
I would rather be friends with fedoras and edgy try hards any day of the week than a normie.
Normies literally ruin everything. For example Reddit used to be a cool site.
>being weak enough for music to mentally break you down
This is instrumentally so kick-ass, but fuck do the male clean vox get on my nerves. it's like some nasal embodiment of the 80s or something, and it kind of grosses me out.
I like my fair share of power metal, but I think vocals like that would annoy me in that context as well. The first thing they reminded me of, for some reason, was Bigelf, and that's not the kind of comparison someone should want made ever.
I'm hoping they grow on me because fuck me the riffy shit is tight as fuck. Rhythm game on point foreal.
>What kina black metal u want mayn
>How bout gay Sacramentum without any of the cool riffs?
>U got it
Arckanum, Branikald and Nokturnal Mortum, good shit son
that trimonium album artwork looks potentially cool
iskra is great, what's sloth herder like?
nice GTT and black noise taste
>what's sloth herder like?
some high quality black/grind
got a couple free eps on their bandcamp, definitely worth your time
by the way nice job on having my favorite GTT release (die mutter)
a hell of a lot more industrial metalish than I expected. not terrible but hardly mind blowing.
I'mma say unmemorable cause I don't really remember what it sounded like. I think it was on the more black metal-y end of black noise.
Hey /nbbmn/, sorry for not being around to stream the nightly listenalong last night! I got a call to go see This Town Needs Guns play at a place near me and I couldn't pass up the opportunity!
Tonight I will be playing what I was going to play last night, Nattens Madrigal! Keep your eyes open for the thread when it gets put up at XX:30 (15 minutes)
>tfw liquor doesn't even put a dent in me anymore
>tfw I can switch to cheap beer and be well on my way halfway through a case
idk man, alcohol is alcohol so maybe it's psychosomatic
>tfw you listen to teitanblood for the first time
+arckanum, marduk and nokturnal mortum
+inquisition and negative plane
it's goin great, I don't listen to much black metal usually so this is fun
>I may listen to that Vomir blackened noise collab but I think that is cheating
I've been vacillating on that too. I don't believe there are any guitars in it so I'm probably gonna wait on that one until NBND
Good call. I'll do the same. I'm curious to see what our /noise/ bros cook up for the shared folder.
I plan on making it through the Merzbox in December.
Meanwhile DAY V of NBBMN I made it through all of Darkthrone, BATHORY, and Katharsis discography already. Wearing my BITNK shirt
>I plan on making it through the Merzbox in December.
good luck man, I can't stand most merzbow I've heard that isn't his earlier style of industrial/sound collage stuff.
what's this? I have the feeling it'll be obvious once you say it.
Sorry it's not all BM, hasn't been a week yet so I still have non-BM
I don't know how I haven't checked out Nokturnal Mortum yet, I'll get on that
I have to check out Sloth Herder just because of that name
They sound interesting
what do you pals think of this jams
++Kvelertak, Haxan Cloak, Primordial
+Lunar Aurora, Windir, Giles
Still getting through some early classics and discographies before I plunge deeper.
7x7 with one non black metal album left on it
Out of all the classics, which are your favorites? I really liked Venom, Tormentor, Bathory and that debut album from Sarcofago. Hellhammer not so much, but I still need to listen to it carefully
>Merbow's albums named after birds
The only album I heard from him was Takahe Collage and I genuinely liked it, I thought it would be some kine of white noise crap so I was really surprised by how much "melody" it had, it was long as fuck though.
Can anyone identify an album for me? It has a skeleton on a skeletal horse and it's like zoomed up close to it's face. I'm pretty sure there is a scythe involved. Most likely second wave BM
Honestly they are all great, have not had a bad experience with any of these albums. Favorite artists were Bathory, Tormentor, and Master's Hammer. I just loved the way those bands just pounded away with reckless abandon and urgency. But I've got some digging left like listening to Sodom's early works among others.
>tfw listening to Under a Funeral Moon for the second time in a row
Listen to Transilvanian Hunger until you like it
Anyone listen to Situs Magus? This album was sick. It's split into 4 tracks, each based around one part of creating the philosopher's stone in alchemy.
+tormentor, master's hammer, grand belial's key
last 2 days
Not when you live in colorado
>blasting early darkthrone while careening down a mountain pass
I'm still here, and I've started my third consecutive listen.
So I spent a couple hours playing games and listening to the first album I ever bought with my own money as a kid.
It's a pretty good album desu, bland at times and some of the songs have nothing interesting going on but songs like heavenly perverse and cataclysm children are really solid. I have no idea why this used to get so much hate back when it was released but people back then were really into hating anything that was viewed as sellouts and these guys sold out hard so that's probably what happened.
I would also really enjoy asking 11 year old me where the fuck he put the god damn booklet, who the fuck just takes it out of the album and with no intention of putting it back in?
>tfw cant walk to the arboretum while listening to forest rock because it's mostly used by homeless and old people
i went on some hike once and pretty sure i saw a goat person or something though so fuck nature
Might be time to switch to A Blaze breh
>dat Pagan Winter intro riff
Pro brewing course? What are you trying to learn? I have been brewing for less than a year, and I'd like to try all grain one of these days but there's so much stuff to buy.
not great, I had difficulty dealing with brewing in a new environment so I lost a lot of the hops to a boil-over. that's not a disaster with this beer because it's an oatmeal stout so most of the flavor is in the malts. it is, however, much too sweet, I believe that's due to the lack of hops balancing the flavor, the greenness of the beer, and I may also have been boiling to hot which can make some of the sugars inaccessible to the yeast. I just got a new pack of bottles though so I can start doing two batches at once. up next is a black lager that I'm really excited for.
in retrospect year but i was basically shitting my pants when it happened
>wandering along hiking trail with earbuds plugged in blasting some bleepbloop music pretty loudly
>hearing this weird noise in my earbuds, i know it's not the song
>stop the music
>really fucked up garbled gibberish i can still hear faintly like someone is talking in the next room when you're on the phone or something
>stop where i am and strain really hard to hear
>can't figure out any words but I can very obviously make out sounds being formed by really monotone buzzy voice
>look around, see goat head sticking out over hill, just the head so i can't see if it was just a regular fucking goat or what because i can't see the body
>it's looking right at me, making this noise
>it's getting louder
>put 2+2 together, start backing up
>goat head moves
>i fucking run
they also found some hobo guy with his intestines poking out of his mouth and ass dead in like the highest part of a tree that he could physically not actually be able to climb up (he was an amputee apparently) but the authorities had no clue how he could have gotten up there or how anyone could have gotten him up there without climbing equipment, so fuck that forest, again.
>found some hobo guy with his intestines poking out of his mouth and ass dead
I am trying to learn how to open my own brew pub and make beer on a 7+barrel system. I feel comfortable making beer at the home level and want to step my game up.
I can't find the recipe at the moment, I believe I left it back at my house. I already have the grains cracked so they're not individually labeled but I'm using german perle hops and saflager s-23 dry lager yeast. I'm also gonna have most of my wort come from 6.6 lbs of CBW munich extract. all the color is gonna come from the grains though so this probably isn't super helpful.
Usually too much sweetness is due to lack of attenuation (attenuation= yeast doing its job by turning sugars to alcohol) either have a healthier yeast starter or ferment for longer
Bathory (and occasionally Venom, particularly Welcome to Hell) is the only first wave BM that I listen to regularly, and when I do listen to them, it's never anything after UTSOTBM.
yeah, I know I'm being impatient with the aging but this'll be my only steady source of alcohol until I turn 21. I'll age the next batch for a reasonable length of time because I'll be able to buy liquor by then. plus even green and lacking hops this still tastes worlds better than the budweiser most people drink around here.
It depends on the conditions, last night we were going 40, sometimes you have to go <10mph, but that is midnightblizzardcannonlyseethroughsmallpatchofnotIceonthewindshield
When the road is dry we just cruise downhill for 30 mins going 60.
Implying that making beer is not kvlt as fvk.
Anyone got more black metal with renditions of the funeral march like this?
Dunno why, but I love this
Driving and listening to BM is hella fun.
Serious black metal discussions only pls.
These are acceptable topics:
>have you herd of Mgwa or Urfaust? They are definitely not posted here every day!
>Hay guise I want to into black metal with absolutely no effort or legwork on my part. Spoonfeed pls.
>DsO is boring/not boring
Seeking clarification =/= pandering to anything.
>not Blanche and Miller
leave the hall
Thank you for clarifying
Gonna listen to mirrorthrone before I go to bed.
fuck me, is november already, time to update this fucker
there's a Miller one right under the Kopinskis
What's everyone listening to right now? Pic related.
>that cover art
Oh yea and i'm listening to svartalvheim
Summoning - Oath Bound, Nokturnal Mortum - The Voice of Steel, and Weakling - Dead as Dreams have all done this
Not black metal so totally false, but The Antlers - Hospice, Current 93 - Sleep Has His House, and Fates Warning - Awaken the Guardian too.
>Gnaw Their Tongues
You will always be my nigga boku
I should really check out that fanisk album.
Don't tell anyone but my NBBMN started on the 3rd bc I forgot about it. and let's be honest here the non-black metal on my collage is mostly pre kvlt.
forgot collage because I'm a pleeb.
Dragged Into Sunlight is an intense bacchanal of a whole lot of 'harsh' music styles, including black and doom metal.
What say we start up the plug.dj room again?
Screw off with your satanic filth. Every dang day I come here i see this same post. You know the lord would NOT approve of this right? You are all going to hell unless you go to confession and pray that the lord forgives you.
Just listened to this after some anon posted a proto black metal chart. Was p decent. Felt obligated to listen to them since I hear how influential they were I give it a 7/10. Some parts I just couldn't help but headbang.
>PS : I'm currently looking for female sex-friends. Send your photos and CVs there : email@example.com. To those males who'd try to pass themselves off as girls, you think I'd buy into your tricks? See you soon ladies!
maybe le pen responded to this
Do "hipster" and "reddit" have any actual meaning anymore or are they just meaningless words people throw around as a catch-all insult?
Since when is homebrewing associated with hipsters or reddit?
>Since when is homebrewing associated with hipsters or reddit?
lmao you serious? been hand in hand since "hipster" and "reddit" became a slur. Even epic xD youtubers make fun of you. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KWBV7yKWhWE
Y'all are the vapers of the drinking community senpai lmao.
That's fucking cringeworthy. That's gotta be the most asspulled, cheapest attempt to diss something for no reason.
Like seriously? The vapers of the drinking community?
Are you literally 15 ? Do you really need to try THAT hard to feel superior ?
I have yet to find a blackgaze/metalgaze/shoegaze album better then Sunbather or New Bermuda. Rec me some challengers.
Ghost Bath - Moonlover
Austere - To Lay Like Old Ashes
Lantlos - .neon
Woods of Desolation - As the Stars
Or if you really want to be surprised
>tfw you have to reverse image search every single album because you can't read the names
Listened to all their stuff m8. big fan
Listened to both these. Good recs man. Not being sarcastic. Good recs
Listened to all of these. Ghost Bath's Moon Lover is my fave. Good recs though man thanks. Just wondering if people have more.
What's a good black metal band to introduce me to the genre? Pic maybe related?
It's probably the album responsible for the most people getting into bm and for good reason
I think it's an excellent entry point, you can basically find most sides of the black metal spectrum in it, production is raw and lo-fi but yet warm and quite "gentle" on the ears, you can't hate that fuzzy guitar
Allright guys, I need some recommendations.
I'm heavily into stuff like One Tail One Head, early Watain and the likes. So I'm looking for other bands that play this filthy, almost punk-ish style of BM reminiscent of first wave BM.
Anybody got something?
