My cassette has very worn teeth on it. It's 11-30 8 speed. When I look on ebay there are two options: acera and alivio. Can you tell me is there any difference between these? Both will be compatible? I've never done any work on my bike besides fixing punctures.
Also i was going to get a shimano cn-hg40 chain. Ok?
As for my front set it's 24 34 40 if I can count. Can these be bought as a set or do they need to be bought individually? I generally don't use them all when I ride as it seems unnecessary so I can just replace the centre sprocket?... Comment too long. Click here to view the full text.
Fresh off the boat, from reddit, kid? heh I remember when I was just like you. Braindead. Lemme give you a tip so you can make it in this cyber sanctuary: never make jokes like that. You got no reputation here, you got no name, you got jackshit here. It's survival of the fittest and you ain't gonna survive long on 4chan by saying stupid jokes that your little hugbox cuntsucking reddit friends would upboat. None of that here. You don't upboat. You don't downboat. This ain't reddit, kid. This is 4chan. We have REAL intellectual discussion, something I... Comment too long. Click here to view the full text.
>>909088 Between the cassettes, the Alivio weighs 40g less, that's the difference. An Hg-40 chain will do fine.
For the crankset, take a picture or tell us what you have, not all cranksets can have their chainrings replaced individually. And what size rings you can run will also depend on your frame, if the chainstay angles sharply outwards there may limit to the size of chainring you can run without scraping the frame.
And before buying anything, chart out your gear ratios and figure out what you need or... Comment too long. Click here to view the full text.
>>909102 Alright it doesn't look like my crankset gears can be replaced individually except for the smallest gear, being the only one not attached to the shaft. They seem to be a lot more expensive than the rears so I might just leave them, they don't seem as worn either. ALTHOUGH, I just remembered that the crankset gears are bent (chain can fall in between and get jammed so I've set the derailleur to avoid that but it means I can't change into them) and that's the reason I've been sticking to a... So found this thing at goodwill for $20 honestly had no idea what it was googled it and found out only ~500 were made. Picked it up cuz i just wanted to have a special snowflake bike plus figured it was better than muh fixie lyfe.
goddamn im jelly, regardless of how many were made thats just a neat looking bike. The only thrift store around here that regularly has bikes doesnt have room inside for them so they just sit out in the elements all the time. I did get a nice, old, cruiser style bike from the Goodwill though, still working on getting it fixed up though.
You have to carry a lot of consumables (fuel and/or reaction mass) to get to orbit. So if you want to get 10 tons of people, armor and guns into orbit, you'll need several hundred tons of rocket to do so.
This is the case not because of some momentary technological deficiency, but because of fundamental physics - you can't speed up without pushing against something, and in space there's nothing to push against.
I sometimes intentionally ride or walk slow in front of cars, just to exert what little power I have over the 2 ton steel deathcages zooming all over my city. Life in my city can just sometimes feel so dehumanizing. Am I pathetic?
If a car overtakes me without leaving room, or does so in an obnoxious way I find them at the next traffic light and filter til I'm in from of them. I then slowly roll of the mark when the lights go and make sure its impossible for them to overtake while I trundle along at 12mph (city limit is 20).
You're not alone man, think of it like you're teaching them a lesson in patience and making the world a better place.

As I was talking to the salesman, it was going good. My plan was to buy my first new car but he doesn't know that. As it was getting closer and closer to the end of the talk, he asked me for my contact info by taking a picture of my driver's license and my phone number. I handed him the license without thinking too much into it.
As soon as I hear the click of his iPhone taking a pic of my license, I was starting to wonder if that was a good idea.
Did I make a mistake?

>>908396 I work at a Chevy dealership and we use this system called E-Leads. It helps us keep track of customer information. There's a feature that lets us take a photo of the bar-code on your license. Doing so automatically enters all the information into the system. It's faster that way.
I bought this. It's a bicycle from the 90's. The original finish is ruined, the hub bearings are shot. There's this black crust everywhere that I may be able to remove with paint thinner and a brass brush.
I think I'll change the wheels, probably the hubs too if the cups are too damaged.
I thought about a quirky color like that, but that would be too much of an eye sore, so instead I'll refinish it in a faux-retro style, kinda like this.
I bought paint stripping gel. I should have researched the subject a lot more before starting this, because you can't use nitrile gloves. The paint stripper will melt them and it burns like liquid hell if even a tiny droplet stouches your skin. I managed to strip the paint off the fork completely and coat it with primer, but I'll wait until... Comment too long. Click here to view the full text.
