Armed people tried to seize the agricultural harvest in the village of district of Odessa.

As reported, the conflict broke out because of the harvest of sunflower, grown on a 500-hectare field. Villagers brought in the harvester to the field, but the activists tried to size the harvester. Scuffle broke up with explosives and firearms.

>San Francisco’s long, complex and often fraught relationship with the tech industry has come to a head with a proposal to levy a “tech tax” on the companies that have fueled the city’s transformation into a place that is increasingly uninhabitable for people on low or medium incomes.
>Every week brings new outrages, whether it’s the tenant in North Beach who, it emerged this week, received a notice informing him that his rent was increasing from $1,800 a month to $8,000, or the kindergarten teacher whose building was bought by two tech workers and, it was revealed this month, is now facing eviction for nuisance violations that include “using appliances”.

>The anger finds its outlet in different ways. Queer activist group Gay Shame regularly plasters telephone poles around town with posters featuring slogans such as “Brogrammers off the block” or drawings of the severed heads of tech CEOs on spikes. In the Mission, a Latino neighborhood being transformed by an influx of tech gentrifiers, including Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg, graffiti recently appeared on the sidewalks declaring “Queers Hate Techies”.

>Meanwhile, more than a few tech workers have gained viral notoriety for anti-homeless screeds, such as a February 2016 “open letter” that included the complaint: “I shouldn’t have to see the pain, struggle, and despair of homeless people to and from my way to work every day.”

>A female Google employee stood on the sidewalk one afternoon this week, a block from Twitter HQ, distributing free hot dogs and watermelon to a cluster of homeless and poor people.

Some East Texans say a storm Sunday night killed nineteen cows. Witnesses say lightning hit a tree just north of Hallsville during the storm, killing the cows that were standing underneath it for shelter.

It was a tragic ending for the cows trying to get relief from a storm. Victor Benson saw it happen.

“All of a sudden, a lightning bolt came down and the cows just fell,” he explained.

“In the blink of an eye a lightning bolt, and there was lightning everywhere, but just one (bolt) and it was over,” he added.

It's probably nothing. SETI's not even going to look at it.

from SETI@home:
>Because the receivers used were making broad band measurements, there's really nothing about this "signal" that would distinguish it from a natural radio transient (stellar flare, active galactic nucleus, microlensing of a background source, etc.) There's also nothing that could distinguish it from a satellite passing through the telescope field of view. All in all, it's relatively uninteresting from a SETI standpoint.

Also,...

Can you believe the BBC the most corrupt corporation in the UK has today impletmented a law requiring you to have a license even for using their catch up services on a laptop.

The worst thing about this is that they are threating to monitor peoples data in order to catch them out!

A corporation actually monitoring your data and being open about it. At least others try and cover it!

I wish I was more of an anarchist sometimes!

I feel bad for the women in the new ghostbusters, they should have rejected the offer to be cast in the movie, because their reputations and careers are now going to be tarnished over this shit show cash grab.

Stop remaking classic 80s movies, stop remaking classic 80s movies with "progressive themes", especially after you promised a remake with the original cast. These women don't deserve this shit, but they shouldn't have been apart of it in the first place. It's just sad that they have to suffer for some corporate hacks who sat around a table and said

>hey we could make fucking bank off of ghostbusters, and lets make it more progressive! Fuck the original! We'll be rich rich rich!

literally this. except i don't feel even slightly bad for her, (see link related www.breitbart.com/tech/2016/07/20/double-standards-leslie-jones-racist-twitter-history/)
they need to come up with some fresh ideas big time.
>the maze runner is just the cube for pussies
>hunger games is just battle royale for pussies
>the jungle book remake is the jungle book for pussies

A dwarf billy goat gave new meaning to the word "scapegoat" when he busted out a surprisingly slippery Clydesdale that went on the lam in California for several days.

The nearly 1-ton horse named Budweiser, who goes by "Buddy," was safely wrangled back into his pen Sunday in the Santa Cruz Mountains on California's Central Coast.

The goat named Lancelot knows how to butt open the stable gate, and did just that Wednesday, letting his best friend escape, owner Tamara Schmitz told the Santa Cruz Sentinel newspaper

Another Clydesdale, Harry, also fled and was nabbed in a meadow the next day. But Buddy is more wary and wily, Schmitz said.

"Buddy's very elusive," she said. "He's not like other horses. He's not attracted by meadows and other horses. He can stay hidden."

That made him very hard to find. He eluded volunteers from around the Santa Cruz area for five days, with evidence like tracks and loud snorts suggesting he was as far as 3 miles away.

The owners even trotted out Lancelot and Harry to try to lure back Buddy, but he didn't fall for it. They just hoped the horse would stay away from Highway 17, a busy and dangerous road running through the area.

A pair of searchers on horseback finally found Buddy hiding amid manzanita shrubs Sunday.

"When we got him back in the pen, he was particularly frisky and playful and happy," Schmitz said. "I think he was glad to be back."

>That's the appeal for Clinton. By criticizing Trump's relationship with the alt-right, she gets to call Trump racist and anti-Semitic without calling him racist and anti-Semitic. She gets to tie him to what the worst of the community does (not that Trump makes those ties harder to draw). Clinton gets to summarize Trump's worldview in its ugliest manifestation and run against that, and each time some bit of alt-right obnoxiousness breaks through into public awareness, she gets to use...

I think we should do what Germany does and just ban all mention of Nazis.

Not because of the whole Holocaust thing, or because somebody might find it offensive, but because if you did we might find something more sensible than "TRUMP IS A NAZI EVIL EVIL EXTREMIST HOLY SHIT HE'S LITERALLY HITLER YOU GUYS HOLY FUCKING COCK WAFFLES HE'S GONNA TURN US INTO NAZI GERMANY BITCH FUCKING DAMN"
