>people take laptimes on this glorified gokart track seriously
Here's a question, timestamp of you being on that track, thus backing up your random unprovoked criticism, or GTFO :D
is it actually possible to improve the aerodynamic of your car by yourself and significantly lower the MPGs or would anything you can do either do nothing or even make it worse?
What are causes for steering wheel shake? It happens on and off, from almost smooth to very shaky. Could I have just lost a wheel weight?
Can a wheel be balanced accurately enough at home or do I need to take it to a shop?
Or you can have a bulge in the tire like this fucking van did
Or something worse. I have no idea.
Unbalanced wheel all the way.
Had an sx4 with shoddy wheels, steering shakes. Put some 17" impala wheels and now I can go 100+ without shaking.
What is /o/'s opinion on 4th gen mustangs or third gen foxbody? They've become pretty common in the past decade but i'm looking for something I can DD + have fun with on weekends.
Worth fixing a 3.0 6cyl outback?
Any advice? Would love to see it running
Any Honda Element owners here?
Craving this car for a while now solely for its functionality.
Tons of room, hard floor, Honda, reliable, seats fold up etc.
Are there any other cars out there of similar stature?
Just moved to the city and am willing to sacrifice my '05 Civic MPG for storage room.
What else would you recommend?
If you like going fast so much why don't you just buy a motorcycle?
$252 a month for 200mph. It can do the quarter mile in under 10 seconds.
well you can't but the bike could.
Nah I'll take something with German™ Engineering™
how do you get into machining?
i already know how to do most things but i dont have space for a shop at home. what do?
Do you want to get into as a business or profession? Good luck starting you're own shop and being successful. Local machine shops are dying art. If you want to work for one many technical schools have programs to place you with a manufacturer.
Why does /o/ like Miatas. My bro who is an auto mechanic says they are for hairdressers
bcuz they look like le 4chan RREEEE froggie meme !!!
they are a chick's car, always have been
there was an entire episode of a shitty TV sitcom dedicated to how the Miata is a car for chicks and manlets
So yesterday I spent ten hours under my car. yes, TEN... HOURS. from 4 pm yesterday to roughly 2 am this morning... I was working on my car non stop.
I had to change out the giubo, csb, and shifter bearings on my 2003 Z4 (pic related though not my car). some highlights: 2 hours spent cutting through the centering sleeve using the saw blade and file of a gerber multi tool (centering sleeve is a bushing at the nose of the driveshaft that centers it with the transmission flange, that you're supposed to be able to push out with hydraulic pressure. I had to cut through...
Comment too long. Click here to view the full text.
If you were a competent mechanic you wouldn't have spent so long on that piece of shit BMW
Why aren't you playing kancolle with cars /o/?
I just bought a new shitbox for my winter beater, paid 1.3k for it, debating if it is it worth it to spend 150$ for window tint? It's a 2004 chevy 4 dr sedan aveo btw. Advice /o/?
Looking to buy a budget track car now that o have some spare cash. I've decided on a dodge neon based on the aftermarket and their success in scca. What is the best year to be looking at for upgrading the car? I don't care about shit like a coupe vs a sedan, just want to know what to look out for. Thanks in advance fellas
Also I'll be doing it class if that helps
Find out what class you want to compete in and build the car according to said class.
Last I saw Neons weren't really competitive in a specific class unless you went full retard and wanted to throw money away by going Street Modified/SMF which places you against caged gutted CRXs with supercharged K-Series swaps and slicks in the same class.
My truck just fucked up in the middle of traffic. While I'm sitting here waiting on my buddy to come pull me home, I wanted you guys opinion on this. When I try to start my truck with the clutch in the starts spins free like it's not turning the engine. If I put it in 1st with the clutch pedal out and crank it moves forward. Is it possible I cracked all the flywheel bolts off? Or just cracked the flywheel around the crank snout? I'm at a loss right now.
Do you have a 2 speed transfer case? Maybe try putting it in low and starting the car in gear if it will only crank while it's in gear. Could be a problem with the neutral safety switch as well, but it's odd that it will crank when it's in gear, would have to be a pretty wacky electrical problem.
So I've been driving stick for 6 months now.
I'm good at all and can be super fucking smooth but it seems that no matter how smooth I am, my passengers always lurch forward a bit when I shift. Usually it's girls who are 110lbs and have never been in my car before so they don't expect it I guess. I don't move at all.
What am I doing wrong when shifting?
