2016 Golf vs 2016 Focus
Which is the better economy car, and which will be more reliable?
>I've never been to a sexy car wash.
/o/ Should I just end myself?
just saw this up on craigslist and wanted to see what /o/ thought about it. I feel like its too good to be true.
>hey kid your ride sounds like fucking shit I can hear the rods knocking
Got into my first ever accident today /o/
>stop and go traffic jam on junction
>lady in mid-2000s ford escape rolls into my rear end at max 5 mph
>get out and check for damage
>wipe away some dirt to see for sure
>lady seems terrified as she is obviously struggling financially already with a shit box and poor dress
>her escape doesn't shift gears right or something, since she could barely reverse to check for damage, and her brakes are shit or something too
>no visible damage
>first time ever in this situation
>knew calling the cops would be a bad idea because traffic jam and no damage
>after a few minutes of examining the bumper and talking, tell her to just be careful and say goodbye
>right after traffic jam starts to clear up and we go along our merry ways
Now I'm just wondering if I made the wrong choice. There is nothing wrong with my car, stopped when I got off the nearest exit just to make sure. Even checked brake lights and such. Not even a scratch or dent, but I contribute that to the front bumper of a ford escape, literal plastic. I'm honestly grateful there was not a dent or scratch since I've had my car for over 2 years now and it still looks the same as day one and I take a lot of pride in keeping my car presentable. But I should be okay though, right /o/? Please.

what's the smallest american awd sedan i can buy?
So I'd like a new DD to lean on while commuting for work and just having fun.
Ideally I'd like an AW11 or an 86, but I don't want to pay the meme tax or be stuck with something someone has dogged out.
What other options do I have for 80s/early 90s Japanese, rwd, manual fun?
Has anyone bought a car sight unseen before? I want this Miata since it appears to be clean enough and fairly priced for a 97M Edition.
I've been looking for almost a year for a half decent Miata in my area and I've given up hope. So now I'm resorting to shipping a car up to me ;_;
Here's the car:
Do a VIN check
If you can talk to owner and get the full run down, and try to see it in person
seems like a really low price for a clean car, and other than the leaky bumper it looks decent

I am not 100% sure if this would be the thread for this question but here goes.
I have been looking to wrap my car, I have looked at all the main stream kinda wraps from camo to chrome. I am not sure what I am really looking for but if something is posted that I like. You will most likely see it posted here in the coming months.

Recently had the rear driver bearing replaced in my car, all was well for two weeks until last night, where I was coming home from work and the bearing partially collapsed.
Due to the speed I was going, the time it took to get over to the refuge lane seemed to be sufficient to generate enough heat to weld the bearing on. The car had to be recovered and is now undriveable.
I've been told by the same mechanic that fitted the bearing two weeks ago that it's gonna need a new stub axle, hub and bearing.
I feel like I should be at least...

Don't mind me. Just going to dump my van progress so far. Stuff that's left
>wire in solar

>powder coat roof rack
>install light bar on roof rack
I'll throw in some pics of the before if I can find them.

Is that good enough for you stancefags?
Alright /o/, let's settle this.
Is *****Top Tier Le trademark**** fuel worth it?
My current opinion is yes. I mean why would a group of manufacturers take the effort to spend money on fuel research and all the other costs of introducing an initiative to promote higher quality fuels? I don't think they did just as a way to jew people harder.
The only difference is the octane rating.
They are forced by the law to have the same cleaning agents in each type of petrol.
If your car can't adjust boost/ignition timing based on what octane fuel it has then it's just a meme.
This. The Canadian government went after Shell and other companies a decade or so ago for lying about their lower octane gasolines not having detergents and trying to get people to by fuel they didn't need and could potentially damage their vehicle. It's the law here at least.
I'm getting towards buying my first car and being 18, I was looking at the relatively cheap to insure VW Beetle (the oldest model, not the fruity new ones). What do you think?
Are you planning to drive tho?
The only guy I knew to successfully daily a beetle had a dozen in constant repair and rotation. That and my gfs boomer dad had a fully restored one back when.
If you have to get a vw get a bus
Cheap to insure perhaps, not extremely cheap to own (frequent small repairs) and probably not cheap to obtain.
Also unsafe and slow as fuck, although they can be built up into impressively quick cars due to their light weight.
If you want a first car that will force you to learn how to wrench, it's an OK choice... assuming you can find an affordable one that isn't rusted all to hell.
>mfw she leaves you for a fat Jew with long hair who rides a rices out Honda Rebel
Okay guys, newfag here looking for some help. This may or may not be for this board but hear me out.
I got a Honda Varadero XL1000VA from 2005. Im mechanically competent since im a mechanical engineer. Problem is that I do not have the service manual with me and im honestly too scared to fiddle with it too much. Anyway, do you guys happen to know a place where I can look for the Service manual? Google is barely giving me anything, and the manuals it does give me are for for the '99-'03 models which are not fuel injected. Any help would be appreciated.

>it would last long if people would just do basic maintenance!
What does "basic maintenance" even mean? What should I even be doing besides oil changes if everything appears to be working?
Read your manual you dipshit.
>transmission fluid changes
>gear oil changes
>suspension components and bushings
>washing and waxing the fucking car more than once a decade
Some of these are less regular than others but they're all important and are often completely ignored.
>he fell for the leather seats meme!!
>Not getting plastic seats
Anyone got any experience with Cerwin Vega car speakers, not subs? Having a real hard time finding any information about them. From what little I have heard, they handle the mids and highs really well but their lows are lacking. I plan to pair them with a sub so thats not an issue.
The other contenders are Pioneer and Rockford Fosgates. Leaning to the Pioneer between them because the Fosgates have poor highs.
I want to change the stock speakers to the best that would fit under the original covers. Are there any good sites for compatibility?
How reliable are 944's? Are they DDable?
>tfw too old to enjoy cars
I'm torn between two cars at the moment. One is a 2002 e46 m3 with 87k miles on it and the other is a 2010 370z with 54k and both are well maintained. I personally like the 370z a little more but it is priced about 5k higher but I think the bmw would be more to maintain. So I was wondering what /o/ thinks
whats the car that will make me look less of a poorfag for less than 5k?
Maintenance not an issue
Ok I got a Mitsubishi mirage n I'm trying to get this nut off the pully so I can get to the timing belt and camshaft and crankshaft.
I've tried heating it up, using a cheater bar, and air tools like an impact wrench if you have any idea let me know
Yo Auto! Just got a limo! 455 big block Oldsmobile. 1974. Custom stainless front grill and a flame thrower kit. Sadly kit is kill atm ;(
The wife doesn't want me to go to crazy with it since it only has 50,000 miles.
Aside from buying a locker and doing posi burnouts all over gods green earth what do?
Not even gonna start a limo biz cause (muh insurance.)
What do you guys play? Grid Aut/o/sport? Pr/o/ject cars? My summer car?
