>/o/ will defend this
>ywn see cars like the CLK GTR or pic related racing in their prime
The 00's were a mistake
I'm buying /o/'s favorite car, an AW11 MR2, however the issue is.... It's done 240,000 KM's on the clock, I'm using this as a daily, am I fucked or is this thing going to just shit turds and die in a corner?
So scrapers are obviously for glass only, but can't those bristles scratch your paint? How are you supposed to clear snow from your car without scratching the paint?
Don't live in the land of the ice and snow.
When will Hyundai ever get respect?
They hired Audi's chief designer to lead their design overhaul a few years ago.
They hired the chief of BMW's M division to lead Hyundai N Sport
They get a constant stream of talent from CalArts.
What else do they need?
Is removing a mid silencer on my car and replacing it with a straight pipe going to fuck it up?
I own an n/a volkswagen and people on forums said that it might fuck up my exhaust back pressure and fuck up my mpgs.
Is this true?
>Me: 8 people in a 2014 VW Jetta
I've had 6 in my Legacy once, as a ride and DD to a party. Two up front and 4 in the back. This was when I had barely had my license for 3 months and was new to manual transmissions too, and they complimented my driving and said I was really smooth. They didn't even know it was manual until halfway there when they happened to look over. Made me feel a lot more confident in my driving.
IDK, I've always removed any back seats i've had or at least laid them down to reduce my seating capacity to the objective correct number of 2.
What state/country do you live?
Do you prefer cloth or leather?
Cloth, definitely. Leather sucks ass when its -15c/5F or colder for nearly half the year, and it also sucks ass in the warmest months
Depends how fashy your area is. There are a lot of CrownVics here that advertise traffic / parking tickets in the local police colours driving around.
I would say that this is fine but 1. this is totally not fine and 2. this could even be illegal where you live. Sorry, OPnon.
do you have any idea how many security guards drive around with the word patrol or security on it? Just stay away from the word police or 911 on your car and you should be good
Tldr do it faggot post pics
I really want to have a slice of the JDM life, but being relatively young, insurance is a problem. I was looking at an N/A FC RX7 (I know it's a rotary, but it's quite cheap to insure), just wanted to know if there were any alternatives for a similar price.
Just get liability and don't wreck it. Engine swaps will also fly under the radar of insurance companies just don't expect to get more than the value of the car before all the mods. Older rx7s are still fun though.
So here is the story /o/ this car is the epitome of shit. I bought it a few years ago and I've been stuck with it since.
>Revs bouncing when idle
>delay when I hit the accelerator
>Cold air not working (not a huge issue I am in the UK I can handle the 20 minutes of summer)
>Check engine light with O2 sensor errors, keep coming back every time I clear them
Comment too long. Click here to view the full text.
Take it to a better garage. If they say they are just going to replace parts until it's fixed, they clearly don't know shit about the problem.
Take it to a different garage, see if they can diagnose the problem.
I might be wildly talk g, but did you checked for leaks in vacuum lines? That could explain the dancing idle speeds and MAYBE could have an effect on what the hell the MAF sensor is actually sensing. As for the exhaust, could be an exhaust bushing (pic related)
As for the mechanic, don't go back to that dealer, and find yourself a reputable one, you know, the one people who really is into cars tends to recommend
ITT: Things people say on /o/ that have made you kek
>Fuck as fuck
Floor mounted is guud? Or do you guys like pleb top mounted?
>The number of driver fatal crash involvements per 100 million miles driven in 2008 was 50 percent higher for males (2.1 per 100 million miles traveled) than for females (1.4 per 100 million miles traveled).
Why is your car not faster than a Civic here o?
Why is your car slow here?
You really think that's a good answer?
>steam engines are more powerful than ICE and electric engines
>microwaves are cheap small and light
>microwaves can boil water in 5 seconds
>compact powerful battery tech exists
give me one good reason we don't have microwave powered cars yet
Today Scotty said I have to change my oil every three to four thousand miles for dino oil and every seven for synthetic.
Is this reasonable? I run dino and only change it at 8000 miles.
He also says I dont have to wear in my brake pads when I had always heard that you have to.
the new york times disagrees with you
I have an 84 Ranger and a Chevy 350 small block. Has anyone here done a swap similar to this?
-traditional key with 3 point turning ignition and central locking
-traditional key with 3 point turning ignition without central locking
-traditional key with starter button for engine
-keyless entry with starter button for engine
>Fucking kill yourself tier
-keyless entry with starter button on steering wheel
at one point will you consider finally ending your life ?
you ride the bus anyway.
also Nobody gives a shit about this, but I guess you need to justify driving your 69 corolla shitbox
>stock intake takes air from as far away from engine as possible
>replace with cone filter that's 1ft away from engine block
>call it a cold air intake and claim +10hp
Useless/detrimental mods thread
>moving the intake far from the engine which is radiates large amounts of heat
>cone filters offer more surface area and better air flow
>implying any of this is a problem
you want to try again?
They can free up some HP in the event that the intake was a restriction. Obviously ones that put the intake filter right by a heat source are probably going to be more detrimental than not. The 10HP they always claim is fairly bullshit, especially on I4s. You could possibly see that gain on a V8. Assuming they're talking about WHP and not imaginary crank with no accessories running on an engine stand horsepower.
>when the mechanic refers to my wheels as "rims"
Name a car that isn't shit tier, under 10 grand, and 15 years or newer, also manual. Talking sports cars here boys, not your mom's Caravan or boyfriends civic.
pro tip: not miata
>not a single car with 185 or more hp
What did they mean by this?
Do decent- looking hubcaps even exist? I want something to put on my winter steel wheels but every hubcap i've seen ever is just utter trash. At this point I would preffer the look of plain rusty stamped weels than any of this shit.
Just paint your steelies.
Trying to cover up steelies with hubcaps just screams "I'm a poor faggot and ashamed"
Painting your steelies is an acknowledgement of your underprivileged poorfaggotry. Honesty > everything else.
Chrome plated can look nice I had pic related on my hardbody.
What's the most disgusting thing that has ever happened in your car?
I think my worst was letting two hookers in do coke and finger each other in my back seat
Drives a 2010 civic coupe ex-l
Automatic, leather seats, sunroof. Black interior and exterior.
Which one is the superior offroad vehicle o?
holy fuck, this thing is badass
why am I just now hearing about it
how do i know if i have xenon headlight /o/?
my car has whiteish lights but i know nowadays you can just put led into halogen sockets and they will look white
I want to know because i want to buy some costum headlights but they say they are only compatible with the trim of my car that came with halogen only and not xenon
You can check by running your VIN through a decoder; http://www.bmwarchiv.de/vin/bmw-vin-decoder.html
I also believe it says "Xenon" on the headlight if you have them - but I may be mistaken as it might just only be for the adaptive headlights.
Can you get a picture of a close up of your head lights turned off?
From the look of your profile photo, Im guessing you have halogen.
Xenon will have a lens that you can see from the out side that directs the light pattern.
Halogen just has the light reflect off a large multi-angled mirrored surface. The light is much more diffuse.
I took a picture but u cant see shit because the plastic is darkened and very foggy, but it doesnt have a mirrored surface like the high beams do which are yellow light
its an audi though
