Just a little too slow! Please delete that shit.
alright i have a few questions, first of all its an 84 vf500f.
The fuel pump is on the fritz/fucked.
Looked online, these pumps are discontinued
It has a single carb/4 cyl engine.
I read online that gravity feed works great for these types of bikes.
>Is there anything more to it than bypassing the pump?
>should i shorten the lines so it more or less goes straight down to the carbs?
>where should i put the inline fuel filter?
>does gravity feed affect performance in any significant way?
>Are there any alternative pumps i could use?
Best bike for trails? go.
I just realized I was confusing beta motors with HM moto.
Why does it feel like all the race gear for me comes in black or pink... Nothing else
no, I am restricted.
I just want some primary colors and not look like hyabusa Barbi
send Fiat parts pls
will give 5 euros
then you are richest man in tha favela and build your own milita
Okay, thats pretty cool, 7/10
Whatever the equivalent of a 300cc sport bike or 250honda rebel is in your country.
Then this should be a perfect fit.
Enough power to start out with:
Any supermoto 250cc, 400cc, 650cc
More power but still beginner friendly:
Ninja 650 / ER6N
>riding in the rain
>everything 100% dry apart from my cock and balls
>went for evening/night ride
>guy going 40 in a 40
>buzz past him get up to 80
>he decided to speed up after me
>very close behind
>gradually slow down for roundabout, still very close
>follows me down another road very close we're both going 30
>after a few minutes turns around
Is this a common occurrence? This has never happened in my car.
Bro trucks are worse. I'll pass them on the freeway in 4th and I'll hear the "brawwwwww"
of their diesel as they try to catch up.
>I usually look back, give them a thumbs up, then punch it and change lanes.
This happens to you too? When I'm in my car or on my bike, the douches in brotrucks will quite often get butthurt when I pass them and try to catch up or block me.
>go to pass
>hear the truck kick down and see smoke start spewing out
>still slide past with ease because even 600hp and 1,200lb-ft of torque is still slow when it's pushing a 7,000lb truck
although the /dbt/ advised me to sell my brembos and buy cheap ass shitbrakes that can still lock up the tire, since thats the only thing that matters on brakes, i decided to get new pads today.
check it out
spring is almost here can't wait to get this thing out of the basement =)
had to push down the little metal thingies to remove the bolt that secures the pads
god its such a heavy and massive caliper, i love it
there was still a little on the old ones but meh
these fucks were pretty expensive too, i thought i have 4 pads in total but i have 8 so it all doubled down.
>tfw need to put upgraded pads and SS brake lines on my sv as well as change the master cylinder
As an owner of a big truck (texas) I can fairly say that bros put in tons of money into their trucks and are quite proud of them.
>However, they're also douche drivers and will blacksmoke you.
I have the same brake calipers on front and rear but the front brake doesnt feel as good as the rear brake. The rear brake pads are new and on the front probably more than 5 years old. Do brake pads get worse over time?
hey now, I like working on my bike, I just don't know all the mechanics. If something is beyond me (like rejetting my carb last month) I take it to these guys.
I dropped my bike while during a uturn in the garage
>Do brake pads get worse over time?
yes, they get brittle and porous. my shitbikes brakes were completely fucked when i bought it, had enough material but it nearly fell apart from touching it.
why would you want to uprgade?
Is there any Big Bore kits out there for the DRZ 400?
Pulled out a CB400F that was sitting in our shed for decades this spring break
>grandma used to have a motorcycle license, she's 85 years old and doesn't ride anything anymore
>wants to ride but my mom won't let her
>my mom decides to take my bike out for a ride
>drops it before she can even get on
>me and grandma are laughing our asses off
>can tell my grandma's been itching to ride a motorcycle for decades so I let her drive it around the street
>tears the fuck out of the pavement and shows my mom who's boss
For someone who has Parkinson's and Alzheimer's she really knows how to ride. I can tell that small ride gave her a lot of joy though. She used to ride Triumphs exclusively around her farm for 40 years.
Hey, when is the best time to go through Ft. Worth to Austin on a friday night? Picking up a bike early sat. morning and want to avoid as much traffic as possible, staying in I35.
I have video of it and it looks like I stopped during the turn like a retard
yeah new rider
damn i'm jelly
>bike flies out of garage at speed of light and slides down driveway sideways
>sparks fly everywhere
>house burns down
>QTs watch the whole thing in slow motion
kinda like this
>google webm for retards
>put video in webm for retards
>QTs watching you like this
Time to move to another city
That reminds me the Hyosung bro that used to park in my street has been gone for a few weeks now. Might have something to do with the note I left him.
There's now a V Max where he used to park.
Holy fuck thats expensive. And yours dont even cost more to produce then mine. I think they just look up the prices for oem parts and make up some price they think they could get for it.
Its really nice.Only brand new v-twin 250 available here too
>tfw fuel gauge
i dont know man, its the sintered stuff, and i need literally EIGHT pads for the front.
that pile is just for one caliper.
still insanely expensive though
Of course they look good but their performance and reliability is meh.
a friend rides a kymco quannon 125. Looks like a CBR125 but isn't reliable at all.
>need to disconnect and connect the battery sometimes so it starts, god knows why, battery is ok.
>goes out at stoplights if you don't rev it, cleaning/syncing carbs and fiddling with idle doesn't help
>sometimes it idles just fine, sometimes it revs jump around at idle
I don't know but I still use the version I downloaded a few months back.
Yeah that clearly makes a difference in price. But ~50€ would be enough I think. I know its common practice on car parts to price it after oem parts. There are some brake pads that cost like 2 times as other with the same size just because they are for a bmw and not a cheap opel or whatsoever.
Hello fellow texas bro. The "twilight hour" is 11pm to 1pm. Bars close at 2am and the drunks are on the road well before then. I reccomend skipping I35 however, there are prettier, albiet slower ways to get to Austin
> ~38 hours of use
> fresh service
> valves checked
> five air filters included
> if I buy it until easter Monday I get the stand thing, the fuel can and the butt plug for free
Why shouldn't I do this?
This a hundred times
>looking for part online
>find an identical part for a different bike of same manufacturer
Also applies when parts are interchangeable but not advertised as such and/or sporting different part numbers (here's looking at you, Suzuki...)
wait a sec
does that mean TRW was jewing me out today?
>bei nem 4-takter
Willst du wirklich nur Cross fahren? Für 3k gibts gute mit Straßenzulassung, vermutlich nicht das Baujahr aber du kommst an viel mehr Orte. Für reines Crosstreckenfahren würde ich mir eher eine 2takter holen.
I bought the cheapest chinese nobrand shit you could find, no issues whatsoever. But remember to buy from an actually reputable parts store instead of online, I wouldn't buy any operation-critical parts from e.g. eBay.
What I was referring to is how many Suzuki bikes share brake parts, rims, suspension parts etc. etc. (for example the GS500 and Katana brakes are identical, GS500 only has one front disc, though)
>your generic over-the-counter noname brake pads are just fine.
yeah they may brake, but you have to be a hamfisted baboon to not feel the difference.
i'm not even talking about brands, but even the difference between non organic and organic is huge.
Oh please not this brake discussion again. I am getting sick of it.
Also look how expensive riding in general is. No one has a problem on spending 50€ a weekend on fuel but if it comes to spending a few euros more on good parts the jew comes out.
>remember to buy from an actually reputable parts store instead of online
>I wouldn't buy any operation-critical parts from e.g. eBay
The cheapest noname brake pads from my local "reputable parts store" cost $25 for a set for one caliper (so $50 for both front calipers) and have served me supremely well always.
I wish I could..but I'm hauling ass from Kansas on an overnight trip to get it, I don't mind scenic on the way back, but i'm hauling ass down there at least.. Hopefully the damn drunks will steer clear of me.
also gsxrxsx750sxrrsx is pretty cool too
Hmm, I need to read up on encoding tonight. This quality is disgusting.
The blue and silver one looks fiiiine
I couldn't sleep so I've been watching a lot of motorcycle crashes for the past few hours.
It seems that the two most common causes of crashes are
> lowsides because too fast / no throttle control
> speeding / filtering through intersections
Why do so many people decide to speed through corners they don't know instead of testing them out at safe speeds and then gradually getting faster the better you know that particular corner? Why do so many people not understand that it is hard to see and be seen when filtering through an intersection, and that often cars want to turn there? Why do so many people not realize that going through intersections too fast to see if anyone's approaching, and going too fast to stop in time if someone decides to pull out, are among the stupidest things you can do?
In like 99% of the time, the rider is at least 50% at fault.
Are people really this dumb? Is it so hard to apply common sense to riding?
Anyway, post crash stories.
Chipping back in here, I had a "bikuu-ruu" fund that I pull straight from. I asked for the best because my budget allows it. The bike is stock currently, but my list of modifications is slim. Starting with my white fairings. Just not sure what would look good with it
I wish you the best man. I live in Arlington, TX next to the Cowboys Stadium, Six Flags over Texas, Rangers Ballpark and a Whole Foods. Great bike scene in Austin though.
Granted, many car drivers don't bother looking and if some drunk russian idiot thinks it's a good idea to do a u-turn in the middle of a highway then that's just shit and can't be foreseen. Most of the time these accidents happen in intersections though, where it's likely for cars to turn left, right or around. In many of these cases an accident could have been averted by the biker, with proper brake control, alert senses, safe distance to moving cars and appropriate speeds relative to road surface, visibility and riding ability.
Thanks man, appreciate it. Sounds hellaciously crowded, and yes I made that word up, but I do love rollercoasters. If I make it back alive, i guess i'll post pics.
>relative to riding ability
Not gonna happen. You do know that the guys that speed the most also have the widest chicken strips, right? Newbies overestimating their skills, speeding, then crashing is nothing short of darwinism.
>more bitrate, less resolution
>enable HQ mode
>enable 2pass encoding
I noticed this too after watching no prisoners. Yes people are really this dumb. And it's not only the motorcycle riders, car guys too.
>what is way of right
>constantly accelerating and braking instead having a steady flow
>tailgating all the time
put since cars are idiotproof you don't crash as much. Put these idiots on a bike though and you have noprisoners. .
>put since cars are idiotproof
A local motovlogger I watch talked about this just yesterday. Said it seems like people as a whole are getting dumber and dumber, theorized it's because the retards don't die as much anymore because muh safety standards, so they can breed, so they pass on their idiot genes and upbringing, and lack of common sense. I think he has a point.
... We should try and make faster bikes more accessible to third worlders.
Scratch that, we should make fast bikes more accessible to everyone and just let the idiots kill themselves.
What a load of bullshit and it's exactly what you would explect from a moto vlogger. Natural selection takes place over thousands of years, not two generations. People have always been idiots, you just didnt have camera's to record them.
Isn't happening with humanity anymore, at least not nearly on the scale that it should be. Look at what medicine can do for people nowadays. Look at all the shit that prevents people from dying when they fuck up driving a car.
I agree, humanity getting dumber isn't something we can see within our lifetime, but with more people than ever around, more idiots are around.
That's kinda what I'm thinking
>lack of common sense kills people
>not natural selection
Natural selection isn't even a thing anymore.
>People drop out of hs
>get welfare+an apartment+tv+internet for free where I live
>all they do is fuck, drink alcohol and reproduce
These people are dumb as fuck, I've to deal with them kinda daily. They're good for nothing, they can't even do simple tasks without making it worse than before. Without welfare they'd be living under the bridge and be dead by age 25-30. I wouldn't even hire them if I get paid to do so.
Also we have people with down syndrome marrying and reproducing because of all the support they get. All on their own? Fucking dead.
>It would be interesting to see what humans are like in a thousand years time
See "Idiocracy" and you'll find your answer
Just got home from work too. Here weather isn't good enough to regret not being on my bike at least.
Almost 1 am.
No bike until Monday.
Don't have Fridays off because less than 10 people signed up for the course I wanted to take, so they're not teaching it and I have to take the alternative on Fridays.
Everything is shit.
My only hope is getting that internship at BMW and that the SEM will be cool.
Forget to ask, do you use the Girls und Panzer mod ?
he who drops motorcycles
m8 I was at the library yesterday and looked at a book with motorcycle tours through Finland. God damn, do I want to do one of them.
there was a storm yesterday so I left it in my mom's garage while visiting the gf.
> can't leave bike outside because storm
> can't put it in gf's garage because her cat sleeps there and bike makes garage smell of petrol a lot
>/dbt/ map (stalk us!)
how do i get on this map?
or is there another zee map like this?
i need to get some franz
Nah, I'm a normalfag, not much into anime.
My next Grand Trip after SEM (most likely 2016) will be Tour de Baltic Sea, following the coast as close as practical (apart from Russia and Kaliningrad Oblast because fuck that noise).
sounds fucking fun, I've mentioned several times wanting to go up the Swedish east coast, then down the Finnish west coast.
reminds that reminds me
> be last weekend
> meeting up with dad
> driving back home after a day in his old hometown
> get talking about off-time and stuff
> in the past has been talking about buying a new kayak for kayaking purposes with his brothers-in-law
> mentions he's slowly thinking about getting back into bikes again after seeing how I'm getting way into it now
> told him about the Sweden-Finland trip I want to do at some point
> that feel when he says he wants to come too
Yeah, but I'm not going around the entire Baltic Sea due to cutting short from Turku to Stockholm via ferry, see pic.
I mean it'll be years until I can do that because dad doesn't have money for a bike, I need to get a job before buying a new bike and doing such a trip and all, but it'd be good fun to meet up with people on the way and have them join.
>yfw even rossi was once a sad ween
you can do it bros, we're all gonna make it.
I felt real weird about it because it's real old and rusty and the paints real bad
One of the old folks that came in said his son collected old BMW bikes so that was cool
I'm not making enough to help fund lubehouse yet
I'll see about another job tomorrow
WHO WANTS IN ON THE LUBEHOUSE/TRAILER/BOAT/RAPEDUNGEON
>4 WONDERFUL ANONS SO FAR
you dont have to friend
just made 340$ for 2 days of work and i start my real job on monday should be making 200-300 a week
Oh, my offer still stands if you ever get up to it.
>good fun to meet up with people on the way and have them join
Apart from the actual SEM itself, I'm equally hyped about the possibility of riding through Germany to SEM with other people.
I haven't got the faintest clue about what we are actually going to DO apart from riding motorcycles, camping, roasting wurst on a fire and getting drunk so I just drew a clusterfuck south of München.
was working for a family friend moving shit because they sold one of their 3 places of residence
worked 10 or so hours each day at $15 an hour
got paid cash because ust helping a friend out
>tfw 6 hours of that were sitting in a car
though i just used all the money i had left before that to help with the morgage and bills
so made $340 and used 1k
how are you today/night friend
Like I said earlier, it's half past 2 in the morning, I have to get up at 7am and I'm playing WoT and browsing /dbt/ because I haven't had anything resembling a healthy sleep schedule any time this year.
Also it's snow outside. Also my bike is in a state of disassembly. Also my ex is going to visit on the weekend.
Well, despite having a license for motor boats I rather buy a sailor. Cheaper, and wind is free.
Also you can put a tiny engine inside, in case of nowind.
Why not make the lubehouse on your west coast ? you'll have great roads and I'll be able to join you sometimes.
Here's my 2015 summer trip, as I plan it today.
6A only if I find a ferry or a boat willing to carry me and my bike (I'm not sure if such ferry exist, I hope), otherwise 6B.
i like this
Decided to sketch up all the riding I've done with my bike so far. Couldn't fit the semicircle around Berlin I had to do to pick up the bike when I bought it though.
Between 1.5 and 2k km since November.
>s real old and rusty and the paints real bad
>One of the old folks that came in said
I kinda like that look. Black on black on black, looks good.
Send me dosh, mein negro.
