LL Bean stuff is ridiculously over priced, even when I go to their outlet stores the stuff on sale is still more expensive than at other stores. I don't know whats the better buy for this particular pair of boots but I am certain it exists.
>>630233 you could use two dugout canoes and make it a catamaran, but you better make sure you cover their top so that water can't splosh in. that would be somewhat seaworthy maybe for a very short trip in good weather.
Hello /out/ i've been lurking here for a little while and i'm looking for any advice you have for a young man, that's about to be a hunter soon. I'm not from a hunter family or have friends that hunt. so i'm looking for any advice you can tell, be it equipment, websites/videos, techniques etc. Whatever you got. I should mention i'm not from the US, but Denmark (Northern Europe)
>>630062 I will, i must admit i do not have too much experience when it comes to firearms, i've only fired a 22 and a two shot shotgun that's used here for birdhunting. But i suspect question revolving around firearms belong in /k/. But thank you for your advice.
Is North Face actually worth anything (not even asking if they are worth the price they ask, they obviously aren't)? If I get their most expensive jacket or someshit will it actually be somehow better than a generic windbreaker with a generic felt jacket underneath?
>>629966 >will it actually be somehow better than a generic windbreaker with a generic felt jacket underneath? i don't know, but i imagine that hyvent is more breathable then your generic windbreaker. I have pic related and pretty happy with it.
Hey /out/ I might be going in nature for long periods of time and I want to make a thread about how to eat healthy while /out/. So far for my protein needs I am going to stock up on beef jerky, cans of fish and packets of peanut butter(with rice cakes and crackers). For carbs/fruit I will bring dates/freeze dried fruit. I also want to consume greens while /out/ so I have looked into green drink powders(aka spirulina and others), and I was wondering if anyone has any experience with these? I wouldn't be able to wander nature for weeks at a time without consuming greens,... Comment too long. Click here to view the full text.

I'm in the early stages of planning a motocamping trip that I will take next year and am looking for suggestions on how to recharge laptop/camera/phone batteries while away from civilization.
I record videos and take a lot of photos when I travel. I'm hoping to do some moto-travel vlogging while on this trip. It seems like power banks are good for cell phones, maybe a gopro, but not a dslr or laptop battery. I obviously can't take a generator with me. I'll have a look into a solar charger but I don't think those small portable ones are able to charge a laptop. Any suggestions?
Then get a moderately large solar panel, bolt it to your roof and wire it into your car battery so you can't do something stupid like run it flat at the bottom of a hill in the middle of nowhere. The panel will trickle charge the battery.
Hey folks. I live in australia and I have started doing overnight through to 3 day hikes. I have a ordered a simple Vango blade 100 tent until I get a feel for what I am after, as I am a novice. I was wondering, once i receive the tent and find out exactly how long the tent pole is overall, can I purchase a tent pole that comes in smaller sections? It packs down to a decent size, much smaller than the one I have now but it could be a lot smaller with shorter sectioned pole. Cheers
When I do a search for that all I get is hiking poles. It seems like it would be pretty easy to just get replacement poles and cut/string them myself. Can i do that without compromising the integrity of the tent if I make the sections shorter then they usually are?
Not so much since all the good stores in town closed down (half the time for violating gun sales laws) and there isn't as much actual military surplus left these days, at least in Toronto. Mostly overpriced Rothco military style knockoff shit and tacticool molle book bags. I did buy a M51 Engineer's Field Bag last month.
To all those that say that woods are safe this happened:
