Hey guys, Britbong here. A lot of us missed out on the first 50 patches that were generously sent out by the OP. So I've enquired about getting the same design, in sew-on format, made for a second run of patches.
If I order a batch of 50 patches that are 3" across, combined with domestic/international shipping it looks like they'll be £3.50 each.
Anyone interested? I don't want to drop £100 and be stuck with a load of patches. Of course, you can order more than one if you want, and each extra patch would be around £2.30 more as shipping was already included in the first £3.50 e.g 2 patches for £5.80.
I'm not looking into making money of this it's just I genuinely wanted a patch and I assume there will be others like me out there.
Input would be appreciated including thoughts about another design rather than pic related, shapes, sizes blah blah.
I'm looking at ways around Etsy+ Ebay fees now.
What'ya think, anons?
What is it with you brits and patches. I havent cared about a patch since boy scouts. Amerifag here. Not trying to be insulting. Just legitimately curious.
>The only Americans i see with patches are /k/ommando types.
I don't think it's limited to being "a brit thing". Not by a long shot.
That said, I quite like having a Union Jack patch somewhere on the back of my pack because it lets the others know who's beating them to the top.
Minimum spend was like £30 for one patch. Plus it's a UK company anyway.
Why so opposed to 'cuckbucks'?
>mfw up early for work in the woods 'er day
I'll make my own patches, with blackjack and hookers!
Oh, it will be if I order the patches lol, but until then nothing will happen, your money will be rejected. Also it's paypal only.
I'm trying to work out if I buy the patches whether or not I can sell them all and not lose a hundred quid.
Basically do you guys think 50 patches will be sold?
I would definitely get one; I missed out in the first round. I'd be tempted to get two if the supply wasn't limited, but I don't want to be greedy and prevent some other anon from getting one.
Hopefully you don't mind shipping to the US of A.
Nah, international shipping is fine.
I think I'll go with 50 of the round design and if they all sell, then great. If not we'll knock it on the head.
If they do sell though, then we'll all know we have a reliable shop and can start producing more designs etc for production and sale.
Sounds good, is there a time frame for production and shipping?
Going to be spending my whole summer working outside in the middle of nowhere so I'll be surprised by anyone recognizing it
I'll buy one, though I never liked that picture as the /out/ logo in the first place. I guess were stuck with it now.
Original Outpatch guy here, if you're shipping International you'll have no problem shifting the lot, especially if you're allowing multiples to be bought. I had a 100 people who missed out, plus of the original 50 I know quite a few people wanted more than one. That's not including all the people who bottled sending a stranger their credentials but would be willing to purchase from a storefront. How many of these there are, I can't say.
I think as it stands, Ausbro is the only other one doing a round bear patch and he was gonna keep it within Australia and NZ, so you should shift all 50 no problem. You might even be best of ordering 100 but if it will be a continuous thing then yeah, get 50. Sell em then get 50 more. These fuckers are popular!
Fair play and good on you mate for taking over.
Fair play to >>484986 as well. I want me a shield patch!
I think it would be cool if the respective countries added a little flair to their patches. Like the uk ones could have a rose on it, perhaps laying on the table. Australian ones could have the southern cross constellation in the air above the bear and the american ones could have a cop murdering a black child in the background.
That's just fucked up bro....
/out needs everyones participation to rise above the shittiness of /b attitude. Please do your part. Especially considering the charitable and positive nature of this thread and all the great people in it. You're just making yourself look immature and ignorant.
This. Plus the fact that hating on america is getting really old. Do you not realize the majority of the american public fucking HATES what our government is doing? It's a tragedy. But we have no control over it because america is NOT a democracy. Literally the most corrupt government in the world. And when I say government i include police forces. Our police are aweful. We hate them just as much as you do.
Used my refund from when /pol/'s #pantsupdontloot billboard fell through to order two patches in honor of you, anon.
As to the actual point of your post, as much as I like the idea of a variant of the patch for every country, I'm not sure how practical it would be given that these patch manufacturers generally require bulk orders, at least to get patches at a reasonable price.
Hah thanks anon.
Yeah I see your point, but those countries that easily make 100 orders could add a little something to the design. I think it would be cool.
OP i just want to let you know that the other guy who sent the first patches got more than 50 requests, and if you plan on doing it for free, please send it to those who have mailed the past OP but didnt make it, since otherwise it would be a bit like cutting in line.
im fairly certain the first anon who made the patches could send a list.
OP here, it is happening. You can order now if you like, but you're welcome to wait until I actually get the patches from the manufacturers, which may be up to 10 days apparently. I'll post proof when they come.
Be aware though that I haven't even said they're for sale yet and 13 patches/50 have already been sold lol.
Officially though, THE SHOP IS NOW OPEN, and all patches must go!
Thanks to the buyers, who interestingly are 80% American, a few Brits and a solitary dutchman. I hope you like them when they finally get to you, which might be up to two weeks.
Oh yeah, and if anyone wants to ask me something in private, just send me an email @
solitary dutchman here, you have no idea how happy i'm that i'm in this round. i think its great someone goes trough whit this so al the /out/ists who didnt have one in the first round now can get one, you're doing gods work anon
Yeah, original outpatch guy said to order more than 50 but I didn't want to be stuck with dozens of them if they didn't sell. Regret that now, I think.
It's getting a bit more interesting now, we have a Swede and Romanian in the game.
Patchdealer here, I'm putting mine on my hiking bag. Be amazing if someone recognises it while I'm /out/
Germanfag here. I just ordered one. It's 5.50 Eurobucks, in case anyone was wondering.
BTW, today is my birthday. This is my present to myself. I shall wear it proudly this september in the Harz mountains.
Yes, i'm Harzfag who got help from Clausthal-Anon and posted it all here.
I'm not sure you should be taking orders before you've received your patches. I mean, what happens when you reach 50? Does the website automatically say sold out or no longer accepts payment? If so then it's not a problem.
Aight, I set up a store for the shield shaped patch.
Patches will be 3,39 euro + shipping (1,50 euro worldwide).
The patch measures 7 x 5.2 cm.
It has a hemmed edge and is equipped with aveline stabilizer on the back (for sewing).
For more info you can get in touch with me at: email@example.com
Also, to the original OP that did the give away: I am sending you an email, so check your inbox. Youre getting a free patch buddy! ;)
I was expecting the patches to be delivered today, but they still havent arrived. Theyll prolly be here tomorrow.
Either way, the soonest I have time to mail them will be Tuesday next week.
All 50 have been claimed and I've double checked to ensure there hasn't been any errors etc etc. I have a big list of addresses including these countries, in order of popularity:
Thanks man, ordered one for my mate and one for myself. My mate already has a bunch of these sort of patches on his walking bag from various places he's visited, so I'm sure he'll like this!
What is merrowed?
Have not recieved an email, Ill try send you an other one.
Good news everyone!
The patches arrived today. And I have to say, the pictures do not do them justice, they look great! There is no loss in detail as I first feared, the stars and the tree, even the bears snout all look amazing.
Ill start prepping orders and post them comming tuesday, Ill try and get estimates of when they arrive and post them here.
24 patches left btw, so keep those orders comming in.
Amerifag reporting in with an order. Thanks Splatcat!
Im thinking this one will go on my flyfishing pack.
Merrowed means the edge has that rounded stitching on the edge of the patch, which yours appears to be simply cut and stitched. Merrowing produces higher-quality patches and is what you see on most patches.
I could always be mistaken and your edge is merrowed after all. It just appeared that it wasn't.
There's literally thousands of sticker producers on the Internet. I just picked one that looked decent and was in the same country as me. Anyone can do the same.
The alternative is:
Like always, if anyone wants the vector files to make production easier for themselves, drop an email to outpatch gmail com
Got your mail. LOL at the name btw, you fuck. :D
Don't worry, man, I'm contacting the supplier to see if it is not too late to order more due to the incredible demand. Keep an eye out for these threads over the next week or two for more news.
Best of luck next time!
I'm the same person who posted before, but it lets me get all the way to putting in my credit card info. Nowhere along the way does it say sold out. I don't want to put in my info to find out.
You should be able to go on there yourself, and see. Just log out of your account as if you were a customer.
so, today i opened my letterbox (london btw) and this was waiting for me...no patch, only 6 stickers...which anon was responsible for this unexpected, but welcomed surprise?
I set it so it should say out of stock, which it did, but then to be extra sure I removed the patch from the product list. You shouldn't even be able to see a patch let alone add it to your basket. I'll double check when I'm back from work.
Only one anon has my address, so the first OP's generosity knows no bounds! Thank you so much! These are going everywhere.
If you're interested in stickers, redbubble is the best for this kind of shit. They handle the logistics of it like shipping and creation and you get a cut of the sale. I've used it for other small projects and it's perfect, all you have to do is upload a file
Hey, going to push these again, I have 18 patches left and I really want to get rid of all of them.
As it stands, the follow nationalities have ordered a patch:
>1 maple syrup
>4 britt bongs
These will be posted on tuesday during my lunchbreak (only period i have time to do so).
Any other orders I get before then will also make that first "wave" of shipping. Others will have to wait a litle longer.
If anyone still has questions or whatever, feel free to ask.
My ones are out of stock for now bro, you'll need to use:
If he has any left that is. These are really popular.
Sorry man but for me personally setting up a system that accepted credit cards was too much work/ extra fees/ less privacy. Just make a paypal? It takes a couple of minutes.
You can pay with PayPal without creating an account, just using them as a card processor. The options is on the checkout page.
This goes for any website that uses PayPal as a payment processor. Don't let it stop you in future.
I didn't know you can use paypal to process credit cards. I meant I had disabled the credit card option on the site so that paypal was the only way to buy stuff, whether with a card or just with a regular paypal account. Get me?
different guy but i didn't know this thanks man
i'nm not setting up a paypal account just to buy a patch but when the circular ones get back in stock i'll buy one with my credit card
also since the stickers were a pretty popular surprise have either of the patch guys thought about adding them to their shops?
Allrighty friends! First wave of patches has been sent.
For people living in Europe, you can expect your patch within the next 3 days. People living in the rest of the world will have to wait a bit longer, up to a week (or so I have been told).
So keep a look out for that mailman! And dont forget to post a picture of your patch once you get it.
In other news: I still have 12 patches left, and I need to sell them all to break even. So please, keep them orders comming.
Thanks to everyone who purchased a patch so far. The ones in Europe are far and between, but I still hope to run into one of you one day.
Wow, what a properly nice patch! You were right, the pics really didn't do it justice. Shame it's not merrowed, but I think the flat cut edge kinda suits the shield design anyway. Regardless, I couldn't be happier. Thanks for the effort and time put into this dude!
Also, you didn't write this out 50 times did you? That must have been a killer. At first I thought it was your own words but a little Googling reveals it's an existing poem. Son I am disappoint. You, sir, are a LIAR and a FRAUD!
It was a nice gesture and a great little surprise. Much appreciated!
JP resident checking in. Thanks for the poem, too!
Nah man, I don't think they've been shipped (or even manufactured) yet. They're effectively a pre-order at this point.
Could be a scam for all I know. Yes, of course you will receive your "patch", just pay me some monies and I'll send you one as soon as I get them. That's the ultimate cynical view, but it has been quite some time without update from OP and it does start to make you wonder.
No updates man, cos' nothing has happened other than I increased the quantity being sent to me from the suppliers. I think I said when I put the first link to the shop that I was just trying to get people's opinion on the shop front and thoughts on what patches to order etc and if the shop looked okay. I didn't really mean for this thread to be the 'sale' thread until I actually got them.
Well, people started buying them anyway! Basically the buyers have to wait twice. Once for me to get the patches, and then again as I send them individually. So rest assured, although a promise from some anon over the internet might not be that reassuring, that they will come to you eventually.
shield patches have been shipped and some have arrived already the round patches are a different guy and he sold 15 of his before he even opened the shop properly and he didn't have any patches to sell yet
>I increased the quantity being sent to me from the suppliers
from 50 to what and when will they be purchasable?
I guess i didn't get that, the guy with the shield patches confused me.
Well, then we have to wait. Just wait. Wait.
... wait, wait ...
50 to 120, I'll put them up once the first 50 are outta the way. I don't want to build up a backlog and make people wait even longer.
Yeah sorry guys that it has taken a while but I did say I didn't have them yet.
Im the shield patch guy, check for my trip.
Youre welcome, nederhomo.
In other news: All shield patches are gone!
I wont order new ones since these barely sold, so everyone who has one, count yourself lucky, you own one of 50 unique /out/ patches.
Ill prep the last of the orders and send them out on thuesday again.
Ill make one last update once I do and then drop the trip.
Thanks to everyone who helped make this happen, the people who funded this by buying a patch and I hope I will one day see a stranger walking around with a patch that has a bear at a picknick table on it.
Same person who made the shield patch (splatcat?) made one. Pic related but with bear.
None are my design, I just had them made.
I dont have an individual design of it, but I have pic related.
> one day see a stranger walking around with a patch that has a bear at a picknick table on it
The mark of the faggot my friends, the mark of the faggots.
I don't think anyone is currently in the process of making this one. It was never that popular compared to the other two designs so I'm not sure a big batch order could have been justified.
Posting high resolution if anyone wants to take in on.
>Be walking down a trail
>Take a long break to admire a view, and drink a bit of water
>Have backpack in view
>Some dude comes walking down the trail too
>Spark up a conversation about the hike
>The dude never laughs about anything
>All his comments have a hint of over seriousness about them
>Makes eye contact
>Mid sentence he looks my gear
>Seems to notice the bear patch
>He gets real quiet
>He gets a little awkward
>His body language changes
>I chalk it up as some dude with good intentions but hasn't been able to hide his autistic power level around other people
>Throw my backpack back on and say good bye as he stairs out into nothing
>Get a load of that guy...
Would anyone be interested in T-Shirts? If we can make an order of 30 they would only cost $11.87 each shirt. I have an account set up and ready to go.
Reply back to this if anyone is interested. The shirts would be prepayed. I don't want to get stuck with a bunch of shirts. You wouldn't give me the payment info, or anything. It's legit. Not making money off these either.
I also thought the badge design would look cool on the sleeve. It costs $1.50 more per shirt, but it would look pretty swell.
this looks like they were a gift from the original patch anon for those who missed out on the first batch of production but applied for it anyway giving the address.
it was a pleasant surprise from an anon who never asked money for it.
not sure if someone is going to produce more sticker soon, maybe we should create a store with some merchandise on the internet
I thought this was a bad idea and was vocal about it in previous threads but now that I see demand for /out/ patches and stickers it's something I think should be considered
100 round patches were snapped up almost immediately and the shield ones took less than a week to shift 50 and of course most of those people aren't gonna want another patch but plenty of people do and stocking the round patches permanently on the /k/ store would imo result in regular sales
Does anyone know the numbers the /k/ store does?
I know nothing about it but I assume the 10 current available patches are permanent so they must sell semi regularly
What should a person have on the back of a baseball cap to balance this on the front?
I'm thinking about having flexfit hats made, but minimum order is 144 of them.
Would there be any interest in these here?
Let it be known that splatcat is the coolest person on /out/
Thank you, splatcat. I liked that poem too.
>Velcro master race for tactical application.
Thank you, Splatcat.
Bong reporting, massive thanks to splatcat, good service man.
Hope you don't mind me posting the poem you sent. Can't believe I'm a little moved by somebody from 4chan. You da best, /out/.
he set up the store before he had any patches shipped to him so he would be ready when sales began but before he announced the patches were for sale people bought them
if people had waited for him to have them then the wait wouldn't have been so long but now they have to wait for manufacture of the patches, then shipping to the anon running the store, then postage from anon to you
keep in mind the guy's doing it for free so he's gonna be making as few trips to the post office as possible and he's not trying to go too far out of his way for this
also keep in mind that you were actually lucky enough to order one of the first 50, there are plenty of people waiting for him to order more patches and put them up for sale before they can even begin to wait for him to send them
Round patch guy here. I should get them anytime this Monday onwards. It was ten working days but we've had two bank holidays and Easter since then which added to the delay.
This guy gets it. I don't mind making the extra trips to the post office and whatever but my hands are tied till I get the damn things. I can't do anything till then.
As I said before though I have increased the order quantity but they won't go online till these 50 are gone in order to minimise the time they have to wait for their patches.
Also, interesting side story: Two people on here have the exact same name. I thought there had been an order error or something but one is from Oz, and one from Murrica.
I thought I fucked up the address or it was taken by someone in the postal service...
Thanks original patchguy.
I wasn't expecting a feel when I opened my mailbox today, but that's what I found. Splatcat even noticed the Texas address.
>daily reminder to thank your lucky stars that people like Splatcat exist
What is this? I see pictuers of patches.
Did I miss it again?!
Please tell me I can still get one!
Well there's a 120 patches in that photo, of which only 50 have been bought. I'm working pretty long hours right now but as soon as I can the others will go up. I'm thinking Thursday at the latest.
I am the physical embodiment of excitement
you are the sexiest motherfucker in the land! thanks curtis!
Shield patch guy here.
I just got back from a trip. Glad to see everyone got their patch.
I wont be making any more, so enjoy them.
This will also be my last post with the trip.
Time to dissapear into the mists of time, have a good one everyone!
Other patch I recieved glued onto my pack.
(Stuff in other photo brand new, I do Innawoods, honest.)
Raym Ears here anon. Got mine this morning! Thanks very much, its awesome!
self confessed loot ninja
>>499005 agreed, there is a noticeable drop in definition going from big to small on the round ones. interestingly enough, despite NOT being merrowed, the splatcat shield patch is the best quality of the lot by a mile
this guy gets it>>499084 the stitching wasn't great and came undone, I've tried using a lighter flame to singe it back to stop it unravelling any more but it has left it a bit clumpy in places
Any news on this?
Are they going to be sold here, http://outpatch.tictail.com/products ?
I found this place that does vinyl patches. They actually look kinda nice. Like a sticker, and a patch. Kinda pricey though.
The stitching quality should have been the same on both the large and small round patches, they're from the same company. I agree, the definition on the larger one is better but that's to be expected. More space = more detail. I'm still perplexed how your small patch is in such a state, it can't just come apart like that without some kind of action on your part. Physics isn't magic. I mean, it's not even attached to anything like a pack or shirt so the wear and tear excuse is out. Things don't just disintegrate. EXPLAIN!
+1 Splatcat's shield. Truly is the highest quality/most detailed of the 3.
Do they have a plastic backing? They may be iron on patches. What kind of fabric are you sewing it to? I would be careful sewing it on to a pack. Don't want to lose the integrity of the pack.
I missed out on the round patches but I got one of the shield shaped patches which are equally awesome.
Thanks patch guys you were heroes, I've got it sewn on my bag already. It'll be making lots of /int/ travels when I'm next backpacking as well as potentially making a trip along the coast for a few days hike down norfolk.
I replied back to this last night, and it didn't post. Weird.
Don't pull the cotton off the backing. Leave it there. Just find some thread that matches the edges, and merrow/overlock it on. Be careful with synthetic fibers. I feel like poking little holes in certain fabrics might not be good.
kinda hard to explain, I was sticking velcro to the backing and needed to reset it it on the adhesive side, a couple of the threads from the merrowing were 'stray'at the back, decided to stay put. As I pulled the sticky backed velcro free, the fuckin' merrowining started to unravel as the threads pulled free.
be ye warned other patch owners!
FFS you lot patches have been sent, some ( within OP's own country) have been re'cd IN shipping takes time you fucknuts
stop being little bitches and whining, they will get there when they get there- bottom line is you've sent a couple of quid to some anon be fucking thankful it wasn't a hustle
^There aren't any more patches... I continue to be late to the store..
Is there any chance of more coming? I wouldn't mind paying more to help grease the wheels!
i just realised you might be talking about the round patches and i'm not going to answer that question again
scroll up and you'll get what you're looking for, you might even feel a sense of accomplishment from having done something for yourself instead of asking someone else to do it for you
yeah yeah inb4 i could've answered his question in less time than it took me to do my little rant but i'm a lazy student i have plenty of time on my hands
