I am looking for the most advanced and toughest Outdoor Equipment of our time.
What items come in your mind when you think about a futuristic outdoor setup?
titan mugs, ceramic blades? extreme long-life headlamps? super light self inflating shelters? intelligent clothing?
nEW concepts and innovations are welcome.
!post your kit list for this mission!
In cyber age 2015 we use this. I think it is pretty gud. It heats up everything. You don't need shoes while you sit in the cold.
Watch out for "furturistic" gear. Lot of it is shit. Arc'teryx makes advanced clothes that are not shit. All self-inflating shelters are shit.
Titan mugs are neat if you have money to burn.
I love my backpacking muffin maker.
Fucker only weights 3oz
Sawyer Mini water filter
Hammock tent if trees nearby, otherwise a Kamprite tentcot XL
6x ncr18650b lithium cells with usb enclosure
Folding 20 watt solar panels
Camelbak if you're actually gonna exert yourself and need to hydrate while moving
Pair of water bottles if you don't, use them with the sawyer to gravity filter water from one bottle into the other
A fucking hard copy of Biosafety 101 distributed to every single member of the team.
A basic checklist will be laser-etched into their helmets reading: "Don't take your fucking helmet off outside the ship."
Some dudes will carry some cool-ass, lightweight, high powered rifles for the space monsters. Some other dudes will get flamethrowers that have science applied to them.
Everyone will get a torch that's a hybrid of a road flare, a solid rocket booster and a can of thermite so in case of emergency everyone on the team can glass the immediate area around them and book it away.
We here at NASA have seen too many horror movies to let our expensive-ass mission be ruined by stupidity.
Instead of the bear spray I carry now, a same-sized jetpack strapped to my belt. Out comes a bear I hit Super Boost and blast up into the sky well above the bear's reach, urinating the whole way.
Also a futuristic food-machine that makes bananas by voice command. Weighs 1.5 oz. Also makes chocolate chip muffins like >>615732 does (but weighs half as much).
>two story self deploying tent
>scuba diving noseplugs
>laser knifle (knife/rifle)
>rapid response drone evac SPOT
>second skin thernally regulated clothing
>small cold fusion battery pack
>second skin thernally regulated clothing
Where in the everloving fuck is my stillsuit?
I have waited long enough
>you will never roam the deserts of arakis with a QT3.14 bene gesserit gf ;_;
ION backpack with back protector ( maybe choose a different colour)
>All those fuckin straps
Micro environments that change temperature etc. based on body temp and heart rate. Clothes also clean you and keep you dry etc.
Skeleton built into clothing to make movement easier and reduce the amount of energy you use. Clothing also makes you stronger as to deal with any emergency situation (animal attack) (Run fast to avoid forest fire etc.)
Jarvis style heads up with an advanced kind of google for any kind of information needed.
Clothing should eliminate need for shelter/fire etc. Backpacks would contain mostly food and equipment to aid movement etc, potentially energy source for clothing/jarvis etc.
Basically a better version of master chief/cortana.
wtf. did you build your house with your poo?
Very true. I've been using a bivvy for some time instead of a tent because our company can't afford the very best of the best (£800 overboots for example) but some of the modern gear does look amazing. a couple more layers underneath and I reckon you'd be pretty decent.
what will we see after minimalism?
We'll see more minimalism, but with a hand-crafted feel to it
why would you want a fuel based light source? today we use fire steels.
dont forget washing yourself when you are done baiting,
I have no idea if it's any good. It probably isn't. afaik it was just some attempt to redesign the axe.
Kinda reminded me of this, which is basically a souped up tacticool Ulu.
My best friend on long hikes & remote bivouacking
>not learning resistance techniques from the Idaho ghola
You might as well advise me to go to the zoo and get antelope killing lessons from a tiger.
I am not a ghola , I am just a man.
A efficient camouflage which does not look like camo. perfect.
finally dad arrived in the year 2015. he save the whole family. thanks dad.
I loved this film right to the part with the "space snake" and then it just jumped the fucking shark so hard I had to shake my head, I mean what kind of dumb motherfucker walks towards an animal that is giving such an obvious threat display, found out later that the silly cunt who wrote that scene used to write for that shitty TV show "Lost", which explains a lot.
>second skin thernally regulated clothing
You mean electric heated clothes? Those already exist. You can get a base layer to wear under clothing or buy full on jackets, gloves, boots, etc. that are heated by lithium batteries.
Some of us would be capable of operating this without getting cut, if you can't handle it then don't buy it, but don't piss on everybody else's parade because you're such a little safety sally.
Your reply makes no sense at all, if what you say were true then you wouldn't be allowed to buy anything more dangerous than play dough and crayons in the shops but you keep on self censoring yourself while I get on with enjoying life pal
But it does not fill a need. Its dangerous for no good reason.
Have you ever worked as a mechanic?
So many times a day when you break torque , you lose control of the wrench for a moment. If that wrench has a blade on it, eventually its going to fuck something up. Maybe your brake lines , maybe your arteries.
Its just a profoundly dumb idea tbh.
Sure if you were amazing careful you might get a repair done with no accidents, but why take the risk?
So what you are saying is that we should not be allowed to take that risk, that we are incapable of judging for ourselves whether or not to take a risk and that the Gov should keep us wrapped up in cotton wool and kept in a box!?, no thank you, I will determine what risks I take with MY body, and you should do as you see fit with yours, your thinking is that of the slave not the free man and I pity you and wish you freedom.
Those who would give up essential Liberty, to purchase a little temporary Safety, deserve neither Liberty nor Safety.
you can make your own tooth brush with bare razor blades on the handle but don't expect the market to provide you with a tool that no one will buy and is a litigation nightmare.
use your common sense instead of going full"muh freedoms" at the drop of a hat.
>expect the market to provide you
Show me where I say I expect the market to provide me with anything, all I'm saying is that I should be allowed to judge what risks I do or do not take with my own body, and if a product is available to buy then I should be the one to decide whether I buy it or not, by safety fagging all the time you make it possible for those would restrict us to act without concern for our natural rights.
>Show me where I say I expect the market to provide me with anything
The very first post where you complained that the wholes were not hexes.
Who else but the market is going to provide that unless you make it yourself?
This >>619068 was my first post, it is expressing agreement with this >>616837 post which is expressing a wish (not a demand or an expectation) for what they see an improvement (as they see it) to this >>616641 and this >>616650 product.
You clearly do not understand the difference between a "wish" and an "expectation" is.
reminder that the Ally canoe has been around since the 70s, foldable water craft is not that futuristic
A very small, light and waterproof outdoor mobile phone...
Stand-by time > 215 h
micro sim, bluetooth 3.0
<--- what do you think?
Not sure. Here is what I have made so far:
Pancake mix biscuits.
scrambled egg with veggies sort of omelet things
I cook most of my backpacking food in this thing because cooking with thin pots is just too hard otherwise.
This makes it so everything gets a slow cooked long window when its done. This keeps it pretty foolproof and I am always tending other things like pitching my tent while the cooking is happening.
