>>621062 Doesn't really look like it from the pictures, since they were taken on a smaller Tractor path.
There's a valley on both sides of the path and behind the ATV the terrain starts to rise. Plenty of rocks and trees, can't take any machinery up there. There's a pretty cool cave about two kilometers deeper into the forest.
>>621062 Also as far as reliability goes, the first month or two is always the worst with Chinese machines. Things WILL break down, but once you get those first issues fixed you end up with a fairly reliable machine. Haven't had any bigger issues with it outside of having to weld on some extra metal. The rear swing arm was a bit weak so it snapped itself after some spirited riding, two metal pipes later it was reinforced and it's still holding.
I got the ATV last year in February and it hauled home two firewood for two seasons along with plowing our road.
I still wouldn't mind a 4x4 Brand name machine, but they're a bit out of my price range for now.
>>621116 >because it's too modern Well.. that's interesting? I can grasp the concept behind the /out/ spirit, I don't live in a city, but I embrace the modern world, especially in regards to technology. Does /out/ reject things they deem 'too modern'?
I kinda miss the highschool days where we would go camping and get drunk, was fun having 5 drunk dudes running around late at night with axes and shit gathering wood for the fire, we would do dumb shit like jump on dead branches 10ft from the ground trying to snap them off the tree and always ended up with way more wood than we needed. Hope the next campers in that area appreciated all the extra firewood.
Have been cutting and stacking firewood to split next year to sell in small packages. At my buddies gas station Going to make a killing doing it Well atleast its a bit of free cash in my pocket. Since I'm not putting a ton of time and energy into it
I have maybe a cord and a half already cut and stacked (not all pictured. Thi. Is slightly more than a cord and have another 5-10/ dead standing cords. On my small amount of property that will be dowed. This. Year. Or next year
>>621333 There is a bit of retarded with my Husky. Like the chain tensioner is just a bunch of stupid. On a typical chainsaw you'd have a screw that you turn with a screwdriver and adjust the chain that way. Well.. it's better since you don't need a screwdriver, but you've basically got Gears transfering turns up the big screw. Now the first two are metal, those are perfectly fine. But the 3rd one, the one you're turning by yourself is plastic and it's fucked.
My dad actually has an older Husky (from his father) which is still in good condition but needs a carb rebuild, which is something we're planning to do during the winter.
Also have a small Homelite Bandit chainsaw that just needs a new spark plug (which is actually hard as fuck to find because it's not a metric size, since it's an American saw.)
>>621541 Well we're burning it. But it's actually fairly decent money. A cubic meter costs about 40€ depending on the season. If you've got enough land and a tractor you can turn quite a profit.
>>621653 If I'm out and I think I might return to a place in the future I will often place some fire wood between two trees for future use, it only takes about twenty minutes to get a nice little pile going.
>>621722 Two cords. Isn't too bad. Hand splitting is a bit slow. But I'm in no rush, if I have a working splitter. And have wood precut to length me and one other capable individual can split about a cord. An hour >>621746 Well seasoned? And that's only 16 or so inches deep. A full cord. Is 4 ft. Deep
