>>2948161 Some will argue that speed boosters degrade quality, and they can slightly at 1:1 pixel peeing, but the amount that speed boosters damage IQ is neglibilge. Economics is the reason for the high Sony lens price, E mount lenses are newer and they're hot shit on the market with high demand. Go for the canon lens+ speed booster, you may want to wait a bit to buy your a6300, the a6500 is releasing soon and you could possibly save a couple hundred on the a6300 body if you're willing to wait a few months.
There are three kinds of photography: art, documentary, commercial.
They all share many common characteristics, and often a photograph or a photographer's work will ride the fence between two or even all three. The only thing that ultimately differentiates between the three is intent. Commercial photography is created with the obvious intent to sell or offer a service. Documentary photography wants to capture a subject and a scene as it was, with as little editorializing as possible. Art is everything else: essentially, it's a freedom of expression and intent.... There is no such thing as universally-recognized press credentials. They are either just ID cards produced by the agency you work for, or they're issued to you by the event you're planning to cover. The former doesn't guarantee you access into anything, but they do help you get the latter.
>I want one of these setups for shooting architecture.
why don't you save yourself a lot of money and get a 4x5? Rail cameras are free to cheap, and lenses are a fraction of that you will pay for some weirdo MF lens. What you save you can spend on film, and when you want to go digital get a scan back.
About 30 years ago I took some nude pics of my ex-girlfriend on Kodak 400 with a Canon AE-1. Because they were nude pics I never got them developed and the roll is still sitting in a drawer at room temp. Is the film garbage and still don't know where to take them to get developed?
Adjusting measurements is something that design programs still don't do well, despite the fact that it's been in (2d) CAD programs for literally always. Anyway in photoshop I would use guides, e.g. put one at 5%, 47.5%, 52.5% and 95% and you'll have evenly spaced horizontal borders.
So I've stared to get into photography in the last year and a half. I've mostly taken photos on my iPhone 6s Plus (see pic it's oc with single Instagram filter) but also have a starter camera I got for about $700ish. It's a Nikon D5500. I've taken almost 1500 pictures on it and gotten some ok shots. I went the the March on the DNC this past summer and got a lot there too. My main question is, how the actual hell do I shoot on manual mode? The booklet didn't help too much and online has had mixed results. If anyone has good, solid advice, or an online... >>2951199 You are an amateur, you don't need manual mode yet.
The only advantage of shooting manual is to have the same results for every shot if you work in a series. I doubt that you or most other prosumer guys on /p/ do that. Look at most threads on here or any other place, people shoot single pictures and your camera is good enough to handle stuff itself in aperture control so you can focus on taking pictures or focus on not editing your sky green.
Hi /p/. Around a month ago I enlisted your help on fixing a stuck lens on a Zorki-4. Now I need your advice again. The problem is that the camera's shutter does not close all the way most of the time, which causes the left side of the frame to burn completely. See the vid related. Has anyone here dealt with this problem? I'm not that mechanically gifted, should I rather just recock shutter immediately or cap the lens and live with it, or attempt to fix it? I found a guide on how to fix a lazy shutter on a Fed and apparently there are some screws which adjust spring... Comment too long. Click here to view the full text.
>>2950535 Unfortunately all my available money is tied to other acquisitions at the moment, and it's not like I intend to make this my main system, just a little something to fool around for a breath of fresh air. I got it from a coursemate for free after all. Also I'm not really tempted to buy "new" Soviet gear because a new one might have this same problem after two rolls.

>>2950314 Just looked at her site and IG, I don't understand why some photographers choose to only work with film. Judging from her paid work for celebs and fashion shoots, she's successful and knows what she's doing. I'd describe her documentary photography as well, good I guess. What's more interesting is her fashion an portraiture work that shows a kind of conscious aesthetic gore, satiring Lo-fi analogue photography and design from the 80s. If you ever pick up a late 80s entertainment... Comment too long. Click here to view the full text.
>developing film >Hey, you know what, instead of sending off this roll of slides, I should develop it. They're not important. >Develop >Ohshit.jpeg >That was the b and w roll i was going to develop in rodinal Mfw
>>2950290 >shoot eltachrome for first time >"LOL I ONLY SHOOT MANUALLL FUCK APERTURE PRIORITY, MY C41 COMES OUT GREAT" >only 6 frames were exposed correctly, the rest were blown out from flash or under developed >film lab developer tries to make me feel better by saying it was an expired roll I like to collect slides from garage sales to scan, but I don't think shooting slides is my forté Here's an underexposed example from the roll
I got inside the last football match for Copa do Brasil with my X10. It was a tie between Palmeiras (São Paulo) vs Grêmio (Rio Grande do Sul). The match happened in São Paulo, at Allianz Parque, Palmeiras stadium.
Is there some magical way to obtain reasonable resolutions of known photographer's works? I do not plan on stealing/printing them, I just want to be able to see some details without traveling to Prague or paying 500$+ for a single reprint and the ones available/fount on google are in really, really bad quality. Jan Saudek is fine example of that, I'm unable to find any of his works really in reasonable resolution. Is there a way?
Also favorite photographers and inspirations threat.
What are you? Stupid? Every famous photographer has books out there. And if you don't look for a limited original edition shittery, you can get a second hand collection book in a big format for 25€, for example from saudek. Are you retarded or something?
Second: Don't buy with kitlens. If your Budget is small get the 25mm 1.7. it's below 200 bucks. If your Budget is big get the 12-35mm 2.8. it's parfocal and stabilized, which is awesome for Video. Also, look into some Vintage lenses. It's Fun as fuck. Check out a nifty fifty for Portrait. And some 180-300mm primes like the Chinon 200mm 3.5. it's a Blast.
>>2949298 Really doesn't matter too much as people who view your stuff will always see something different, from phones to TVs, to computers, also doesn't matter unless professional work, but at that point you're invested and you can probably afford pricey monitors at $1000+ and they don't really need adjusted
I use a ColorMunki because it was cheap and does well enough.
>>2949312 Nope. Even $3000-5000 monitors have to be calibrated. Higher end monitors give you a larger color gamut and stay accurately calibrated longer.
The goal of calibration for electronic viewing is to ensure the image has been created in an environment that is as accurate as possible so that the variance of color and density seen on other devices is due only to the inherent limits of that device and not compounded by the inaccuracy of the device... So ive been reading, lurking, watching videos for what feels like forever now. I am not a rich man but I want to make movies very badly, at the age of 22 I feel my potential time frame to make such things happen is closing (though that may seem stupid, idk)
Anyhow, after lurking and almost buying a T5i I think I may have decided upon buying an old Panasonic GH2 and installing the Sanity hack but I cannot decide on what lens to get. I do not think I will be holding on to the GH2 for very long as I want to upgrade to a GH4 in... Comment too long. Click here to view the full text.
>>2949049 Same doubts as yours. Gone for a G7. Goddamit camera, is perfect, and a wonderfull way to practice on. I'll dump some screenshots from some frames of scenes I've made. Remember, moreover, it's not important the camera, but what you have in the front of it
