I took a photo on my iPhone 5S that I want to make into a 36x24' poster. The nice man at the store said it would look bad with the file size it is now. While I agree it won't be amazing... how bad is bad? Is there anyway to make this photo into a large picture? I had him make me a 8x10' just to see what I'm looking at, but it won't be ready until next week. Pic related.
>>2724623 Thanks for the advice. This photo was taken no zoom with my phone held into a pair of binoculars. I just cropped the photo on the phone. I might have even used to photo enhancer option. Really crappy circumstances for a photo but I love the shot. Maybe I just need to buy a real camera.
bad enough that you'll try and try to get this poster made despite anyone and everyone saying that it'll look bad, and then when you actually get it you'll be disappointed and try to get your money back
i assume you mean inches instead of feet
a 36x24 will be over ten times the size of an 8x10 think about that for a bit
>>2724611 2*vivitar 285hv. One flash that I can't remember what it is. Better (much better) than the shitty vivitars. 2*elinchrom somethingsomething. Maybe 250 something? Underwater 4*nikonos SB-105 and one Ikelite which again can't remember the model for triggering. When I'm ofcameraflashing underwater.
>A thread for sharing great experiences you've had because you are a photographer, that you would not have had otherwise.
Personally, I've been to more cities, and seen more sights along the way, than I EVER would have without the job. I'm grateful every day for the trips I get to take, and the things I would never have seen otherwise.
>>2724539 Doesn't have to be a job! Just thinks you did with a camera that you wouldn't have done without one! A side trip to take a photo, exploring down a dark alley you would have otherwise ignored, and happened to find a $20 bill! Just ways that photography has positively changed your life from what it would have been.

So my folks want to get me something for Christmas, and I'm kind of at a loss for anything I really want, but I just noticed that the Lumix CM1 is down to $450, and it's a concept that has intrigued me for a while. Reviews seem to be pretty decent on it too, including ones from photography sites.
>>2724436 How is the support for this thing? How are the updates? I find it a beautiful device and considered it, but found it too expensive. The new price seems a lot more reasonable. However, the lens 'bump' is scary. I think the lens is very unprotected in most non-photographing situations.
I dislike them because they're on some weird pedestal that I never understood. You can do street photography with ANY camera. Leicas and rangefinders don't offer any kind of advantage. It is gear whoring at its finest.
Recently bought a Nikon D3200. Spectacular camera. Absolutly no regrets. Would reccomend and if you have a little more money to spare definitly go with a D3300. Higher ISO and Panoramic. If money isnt a concern D5500. Would highly reccomend one. I personally wouldnt stress it too much. Pretty much any DSLR you buy these days will be outstanding in quality. (Wouldnt buy a Canon T5 though).
I've barely seen any threads about monitors, i am curios about yours! What do you use and how do you like it? I'll start: >Dell U2312HM Have it for 2 years and no complains so far. no pixel errors nothing. I sort of want a bigger screen but well, i am sitting really close to compensate that. 9/10 would buy again!
