Hello /po/ i found these instructions for how to make an origami weiner dog...but I can't figure out steps 9 and 10. (i got to step 10, but im not sure I have step 9 right) please help? (There are simpler weiner dog methods but i don't like them because they look too cartoonish)
I'm seemingly able to make it hold and look like a glove somewhat but holy fucking hell it's ugly. Anyone done one before? How would you do it? It needs to be done from regular copying paper and I'm beginning to wonder if paper mache counts
is there a papercraft database out there, or anything like that? if not, i could try coding one, specially designed for /po/. there's plenty of blogs and such out there, but they're not super convenient.
I, a passerby hobbyist haven't seen a propper papercraft database and i think it would be a nice idea, however, who would store and maintain such database? if you want to program it would be a nice start although wouldnt it be easier to use an already existing file manager? only changes to be made are in tagging and sorting, it would be sweet for a database to exist since people would know what already exists and obtain it but some "improper" things could happen like someone uploading monetized works that, in the regard of papercrafting, things that are monetized... Does anyone know where to get the ships from the Babylon (5) Project? Since all links point to dpileggispicks dot com and that site is long gone and for sale. So no more papercraft from there :( I'm looking for the G'Quan Class Heavy Cruiser, the Sentri Class Fighter , the Vorlon Fighter, the Aurora Class "StarFury" Fighter and the Nial Class Heavy Fighter
Looking to get a Pepakura of Weltall from Xenogears. Been looking all over and for some reason it hasn't been made. Hoping to scale it up so that I can make a cosplay from it. Can anyone fulfill my request?
I figured that it would be best to ask the professionals on this one, but do any of you have some blueprints for an origami lampshade? I'm poor as shit, and spending 50£ on a decent one isn't something I can justify as a sane human being. If this is actually origami, nd not black magic, can anyone share the blueprints for this piece of art?
>>540678 i believe the ones in your pic are papercraft desu i'm not sure but if you want a lampshade look up origami tessellations pick a pattern and if you have good non flammable paper you can fold one yourself
What's something cooler than cranes I could make? My friend is getting married in a few weeks, and I figured this would be a cheap way to get out of buying them a gift. I don't mind learning a more complicated papercraft, but I'd prefer something that I can just use regular folding paper for with minimal cutting.
Hey /po/ users, I was wondering if you had any advice for someone who has no knowledge of Origami, like where can I decent origami paper or what are some simple origami instructions for a beginner? any tips would be great!
>>540397 First of all, the paper : for the very first origami printer paper can be enough, when it reach its limits use something else. The something else i recommand is kraft paper. It's cheap, strong, thin, comes in large rolls and is even colored on one side sometime. Kraft paper is often sold as a wraping paper, or you can find it in every good art shop.
For instructions you can find many easy diagrams on internet or even tutorial on youtube (just search for origami on youtube). Try to find models you like and... Comment too long. Click here to view the full text.

Michaels crafts usually has a 40 to 50% off coupon every week so you can pick up some there. http://www.origami-resource-center.com/symbols.html Learn the notation, Akira-Randlett... if you're just beginning, memo blocks, post it notes and printer paper can be great for making your first models- cheap, decent, and plentiful, if you make a mistake it doesn't matter as much, and you don't want to be learning and using up more pricey paper
There are two things that can be called wet folding.
The first one is the "real" wet folding, usually it goes like this : take a pretty thick western type paper (eg elephant hide), make it wet and start to fold with your wet piece of paper. This will give you nicer angles and more lifelike forms if you do it right. when you're finished the paper should still be wet, at that point do the shaping, put restraints on your origami so it keep its shape while drying and voilà you have your wetfolded... >>540693 here is (approximately) how wet folding works : paper is made of fibers, those fibers are held together by a binder (like cellulose). Water will soften the effect of that binding agent, and tus paper gets more easily shaped. When the water dry the bind acts again on the fibers of the paper but if the paper has dried in a certain position the bind will held the fibers together in this position.
The first kind of wet folding is suited for strong western paper because they're are strong and can resist the process... Comment too long. Click here to view the full text.
So, I'm working on a somewhat larger papercraft project, (about 3 cubic feet in size) and by the time I am done, I don't want it to look like it's made of paper. At the moment it is assembled in sections and coated in a hardening resin, but I need a material to put on top of the resin that will let me fill in any cracks, do general re-contouring, and be paintable without looking like shit.
I've seen some people use auto body filler, but this would be way too pricey for me. Know any good alternatives? was wondering if some sort of clay would be a possible route, but it needs to be a material that can be fully smoothed out.
>>535812 i don't think pepakura would be the best way to build this. unless you really need it in paper, i would recommend just looking at the hardware store for parts that look like parts of the baton/kitbash it.
>>538476 I can not stand competition and administering ... I decided to do something really great about your life and not be doing what any graphic designer, developer or builder or some papercraft Pokémon trainer ... I mean NOTHING.
Since this be so, it only takes you to become a pariah / beggar, penniless and surviving adversity under a bridge ...
Good for him and for his decision to end the promotion at ORIGAMI, KIRIGAMI, Papercraft and / or Paper Toy.
Paper is too small, paper is too thick, paper is too weak, you've Huntington's disease, ripped paper, model is too difficult for you, unfinished origami because of laziness...
Whatever the reasons are you probably have failed attemps of origami. I keep mines because they make me laugh. So let's laugh together and post photos of your fails ! Bonus point if you can find the model attempted by other annons.
I could rip it for you, but i dont want to download the hole game, so i show you how to rip a model from a game. http://cgig.ru/en/2012/10/ho-to-use-ninja-ripper/ have fun and share the model if you are successfull:D
Hey, /po/. I love Godzilla and kaiju stuff in general, and since the announcement of pic related, I've been getting more and more hype. I also have a big dresser with precisely nothing sitting on top of it, and have been looking to get into a new hobby.
As such, I'd love to cover that bastard with papercraft or origami kaiju, and maybe once I've been at it a while, even design my own.
I generally find papercraft to look cooler, but also think origami might be way cheaper, and something I could work on anywhere.
