28 KB,
Hey,
I am trying to create pic related from paper using Pepakura Designer to print the parts. Problem is, most files are read-only and need a password to edit (thus scaling) them.

I will be using a slightly smaller Blanda bowl by IKEA which is stainless steel, but a little bit smaller than the 1:1 dome so I need to scale the whole model so that everything fits.

Google didn't give me any such results and all pdo's need a password to edit them, so I was wondering if you know of a pepakura resource where I can find pdo models free to edit.

Hi /po/, I'm looking for someone who is experienced in making articulated papercrafts. Im a huge fan of the Netflix Daredevil and aside from a few of those vinyl PPP figures there's not much in the way of merchandise. So I figured why not make my own? I have a 3D model ready and stuff I just need someone who can convert it to papercraft and add some joints. Any help is greatly appreciated!

What is the standing of Origami in Japan? Obviously it is more widespread there, but is it a niche hobby or something rather common?
8 replies and 2 images submitted. Click here to view.
>>
Dude, before origami became popular in the west about 50 years ago, it had a very different standing in Japan. Sharing diagrams with the public used to be uncommon, instead masters would teach a handful selected pupils to pass on their heritage. This changed drastically over the last decades, but it's because of western influence.

really nice anon ! is it made of a single sheet of paper ?

Are the 4 "branch" of the crown locked up together ?

And eventually could you share the diagram ?
>>
>>534878
Yes, it's a single sheet of two colored tissue foil.

No, the branches only connect to the opposite one.

Maybe, I still want to design an ornament to go on top, and then figure out how to get a sheet of paper big enough so this model can be worn.
>>
>>534881
>big enough so this model can be worn.

lol what is the ratio final sive/paper size ? Origami shop sells rolls of metalic wraping paper with a nice gold aspect on one side (the other side is plain white), it's a 50cm*10m roll so maybe that's enough.

Hi /po/ I recently found a bunch of playing cards, can someone give me ideas, projects, templetates or whatever you have to do with them?
I saw some origami but dont found the diagrams or something, papercraft, sliceforms or anything are welcome!

Look for the one that makes a dodecahedron out of intersecting playing cards; not folded, just cut and pieced together

Hey /po/ it's my first time quilling, how does this whale look? Any advice?
16 replies and 3 images submitted. Click here to view.
>>
I'm sure you already know but try not to crimp or crease any of the teeny papers next time. Looking pretty good!
>>
For a first time that's really a great job, my own first experiments looked awful.

As for a little criticism... I think the color composition is a bit too "random", probably it would look more coherent(?) if you use seperate hues for the water and the whale body (or at least don't use blueish on the wale body, to seperate the main elements more clearly).

And it looks like your paper could be heavier; quilling almost generally looks better with thicker paper. And it's comfier to work with because it's stiffer, so the coils unroll better...
Comment too long. Click here to view the full text.

Is it possible to make an interlocking buckle like this out of card? It seems like it should be possible but I can'f find anything
3 replies and 1 images submitted. Click here to view.
>>
Dude, that are really simple shape. Get some thick cardboard, trace both parts on it and cut it out. To get some sturdiness you have to repeart this part a couple of times until you have enought cardboard-parts to glue them together on a stack. Then try if it "clicks" or not. So.... Most people buy those. You can try to do it in cardboard, but remember that this interlock buckles costs under a dollar.

>>539717
cheers man, If I could just buy one I would, but the thing I need it for has to be made entirely from card or foamboard. thanks for your input
