>Yesterday, there was a wall of Tesla patents in the lobby of our Palo Alto headquarters. That is no longer the case. They have been removed, in the spirit of the open source movement, for the advancement of electric vehicle technology.
>Tesla Motors was created to accelerate the advent of sustainable transport. If we clear a path to the creation of compelling electric vehicles, but then lay intellectual property landmines behind us to inhibit others, we are acting in a manner contrary to that goal. Tesla will not initiate patent lawsuits against anyone who, in good faith, wants to use our technology.
Thank you, based Elon.
>honorary goy status.
This should be a thing.
>Musk was born in Pretoria, South Africa, in 1971, to a Canadian mother (Maye Musk) and a South African-born British father.
he's about as white as you can get, and he probably knows not to relax around nigs considering he grew up in SA
I dub Elon flavour of the months honorary goy
well, now it's just a matter of time before "he decides" to resign and appoints shlomo goldburg as his successor
I think electric vehicles are a great idea in theory.
I like Elon Musk.
But the idea of a company that makes electric vehicles for profit is fucking stupid. The idea a company will be green is even more fucking stupid.
The battery plant that Tesla needs to build to put cheaper batteries in its cars and thus make a profit, is going to pollute thousands of acres of land no matter where its put, and release millions of tons of carbon.
Oh, and here's the kicker, a batter has done SHIT NOTHING to reduce carbon emissions because batteries are not a net energy source.
>is going to pollute thousands of acres of land no matter where its put, and release millions of tons of carbon.
You clearly have zero knowledge of Teslas latest gen batteries that they are using right fucking now.
You guys are nuts.
What are you going to do when electricity prices quadruple from all the 'Teslas' on the road (and the ones not catching fire) and Hospitals and Schools have to close to lessen the strain on the grid?
Dumb fucks, the 'green' movement is anything but. Its also fucking idiotic.
He will probably charge to use his patents, all he has said is that he will avoid anti competative lawsuits on opponent's tech that might fall under the purview of bad patents like: apple's patent on curved aluminum cases. Selling your rights on the patent is a secondary source of income to compensate research costs. I.e. good faith excludes competition that replicates items on his patent that have not paid for the license
TL;DR he has just promised that he wouldn't be a flagerant asshole.
>Still, there were warning signs. As we danced at our wedding reception, Elon told me, "I am the alpha in this relationship." I shrugged it off, just as I would later shrug off signing the postnuptial agreement, but as time went on, I learned that he was serious. He had grown up in the male-dominated culture of South Africa, and the will to compete and dominate that made him so successful in business did not magically shut off when he came home. This, and the vast economic imbalance between us, meant that in the months following our wedding, a certain dynamic began to take hold. Elon's judgment overruled mine, and he was constantly remarking on the ways he found me lacking. "I am your wife," I told him repeatedly, "not your employee". "If you were my employee," he said just as often, "I would fire you."
This man is amazing
>Changed the technology world forever
Can't rob the Jobs (of his legacy).
Laws of thermodynamics. All conversions are inefficient. Converting X energy in a plant to chemical energy in a battery to electrical energy in the car to kinetic energy moving the car is probably going to be a lot harder than converting chemical energy in petroleum straight to kinetic energy through explosions.
Most of the inefficiency in a gas car comes from the fact that a lot of the leftover energy from the burning gas escapes the engine. Creating a more efficient engine would go a much farther way than making a better electric car, a better battery production, a better factory to produce batteries, etc.
Also, another big question is: how the hell does the factory work? Chances are its running on an inefficient petroleum burning engine anyway. So, you get al the inefficiencies of oil burning, and then you get even more conversions at the end, so more and more energy is being wasted.
He already owns Solarcity. Its not profitable either, but its a good idea.
Tesla, Solarcity are not good options when Oil is at 100 a barrel. But when Oil is 250 a barrel they'll be profitable.
>Well, you can have your computer or your Tesla. You can't have both you fucking faggots.
We can if the government pulls its head out of its ass and start building 4th gen nuke plants, you shit-eating bitch.
Pretty based, only issue is that the dude married a professional. He could've avoided that shit, by marrying a pretty rich bitch that has a temporary job before transitioning to wine drinking house wife; that being said, there would be a completely different set of issues.
Can you provide a high school or elementary diploma?
Do you not understand how fuel cells work? When your battery in your phone degrades, it runs on low quality. This means that you will need to use more energy which means you will needto charge your car more with electricity which means that in turn you are using fossil fuels being used by your local power plant.
How can people bethis stupid. Batteries are BADDDDDDDDDDDD.
some women are seriously too greedy for their own good
she became rich as fuck by doing nothing other than marrying some guy, and she's complaining? most women would kill to get what she had, but no, she wanted to have her cake and eat it too, and in return she just got thrown in the trash
hopefully he'll pick his 2nd wife better
The advantage of electric vehicles and batteries isn't that they're more efficient than fossil fuel powered engines, but that that electricity can come from any source.
Electricity generated by photovoltatics is no different than electricity generated by wind turbines, hydroelectric plants, or nuclear reactors.
Diversification of energy sources is key to sustainability.
and it won't, because feeding hoards of niggers and spics will be the priority.
Then when those niggers and spics reach maturity, building robots to stop them from destroying everything and raping the remaining white people to death will be the priority.
>he thinks the gov't will get its shit together when Oil gets expensive
Nigga, banks, businesses, and local gov't will be going broke and millions of people are going to be unemployed. How the fuck are we going to do all that with no credit and all these baby illegal spics we gonna have to feed?
Okay - ignoring all the other things wrong with your post I'd like to focus specifically on this one
>as important as linux
Seriously??? Fucking seriously??? You're going to, in the same breath, claim that someone's going to announce a method of producing limitless, free power, changing the course of human history for all time, and the best you can come up with is "this is about as significant as fucking Linux"?
Get the fuck out
oh, my, fucking god. Did everyone read that shit? It was all a build up to why elon screwed her with a post-nup. She somehow feel entitled to all of his academic and financial success just because he had his dick in her. Like, my fucking god im stunned at the sheer self entitlement. He gave her everything, including all the time in the world to pursue her own writing career at will and she somehow feels screwed because she could take him for half of everything he worked for.
>Creating a more efficient engine
>Big Oil would like a word with you out back, loudmouth
> the increase in efficiency with which a resource is used tends to increase (rather than decrease) the rate of consumption of that resource
Making car engines more efficient would actually increase fuel consumption because people would either buy bigger vehicles or drive more miles (see 90s-2000s).
if she wanted an equal marriage to a billionaire, maybe she should have become just as successful?
oh right, sexism and the patriarchy prevent women from having brains or talent in investing
I just got done reading it. How she can complain that she basically gets to do nothing but write her shitty novels and live off elon's money is beyond me. She's living the dream.
Not really a company, when it comes out there will be many companies producing them.
Jesus, learn to read. I was saying Elon's latest stunt was about as relevant as Linux. Free energy being released would be the biggest sociopolitical shift in human history.
>Then he took me to a bookstore and handed me his credit card. "Buy as many books as you want," he said. No man could have said anything sweeter.
What the fuck are these peoples lives?
Most of the energy lost in a petrol engine is heat energy, electric vehicles often get the equivalent of 100mpg or more and the USA had much more natural gas and coal than oil so less transport costs and reliance on foreign markets.
Well to be anal and correct you on one point, Photovoltaic cells actually produce a DC current which would first need to be converted to AC for transportation across a national grid before being converted into whatever type of current is needed for the device through inversion or rectification.
>you will never be as ingenious, innovative and resourceful as Elon Musk
Sort of, the natural answer to the paradox is to artificially increase the price of gasoline/cars for now. The reason this exists in the first place is because consumers are compromising their demands to efficency. And now that I am thing about your statement and still haven't read the source, shouldn't the paradox be all attempts at efficiency contribute a net of zero until it is so that it accomodates nearly all demand
Would you say the same thing about Bill Gates, or recoil in horror? We need to stop worshiping business, the amount of cocksucking in this thread is fucking disgusting. The smartest mathematician in the world is some scraggly Russian NEET who rejects all fame and fortune, but you don't hear about him because he's not a hotshot who gets the avg loser's dick hard.
No. He solved one of the millennium problems. That takes a lot of intelligence and effort, but it doesn't make him the smartest mathematician in the world. Stephen Hawking and Terrence Tao are smarter.
Elon is quite smart. He might not be as smart as some geniuses, but he sure uses his intellect way better than they do, considering he's actually climbed up to the top already.
People worship people like him because he's got both the intelligence and the drive to do great things. He's not a follower, he's a leader.
I know right, this should pretty much be a given. My money (The fortune I created all by myself) doesn't just somehow just become hers.
Fucking marriages at times, they have to be the biggest scam ever created in these modern times.
>I'll be leaving you in a cloud of black smoke in my American Muscle Roadster.
Confirmed for never having driven a Tesla and enjoying it's neck-snapping acceleration.
Not even joking.
>Making car engines more efficient would actually increase fuel consumption
current data contradicts that statement
I actually drive a Ford Taurus and don't really give a fuck about loud muscle cars. But they are cooler than gay electric shits.
But seriously, how many black people in your life have you seen driving loud hot rods? It's usually either a complete piece of shit or a big ass escalade or something. Their cars aren't even loud. Why would you equate my statement with niggers? With this kind of knowledge do you really think you are qualified to speak about automobiles?
Instead of batteries could we alter power lines. That they have a cord that feeds up into them? Could also alter them so they have a reserve power so they could potentially go off road. Things would have to be altered (Like need more plants to work with the demand presented). Could potentially work if we kept at it.
Aren't patents immediately for the most part void if you allow even one person to break them and do nothing? Isn't this one of the main reasons large companies are so zealous in defending them?
What a convincing argument. Might as well shut them down now, since this is so clearly the end result and the market will not react in any way to an actual increase in electric vehicle usage. Christ.
>Aren't patents immediately for the most part void if you allow even one person to break them and do nothing?
He probably won't let anyone brazenly steal his patents, rather enter into no-fee usage agreements with others who want to explore the technology.
We already paid for these fucking patents several times over through subsidies for rich fucks to buy his electric cars.
