I see this "4chan was founded on anime culture" excuse all the time. It's funny because the reality is the exact opposite: it's the weebs who need to learn other board's culture. Instead /a/ uses this to shitpost with impunity on non anime boards they have no experience.
I go on /g/ and in all the desktop threads it's the people with anime wallpapers who are most annoying. They'll use arch, rice up their desktop with anime girls and transparent urxvt's so you can see the anime girls and typically a console window open showing their... Comment too long. Maybe you should try leaving this site, then. I agree those are shitposters but if you think it's so bad why not move somewhere else? They're right in saying this was a japan culture oriented place to begin with, there's barely anyone like that in /a/ outside of their own shitty threads. If they're being so annoying on non-anime boards that's their offense, not posting anime shit. > 'chads', 3dpd women and 'bullying'. Those are excuses originating from the normalfag boards and robots. >that... Comment too long. Click here to view the full text.
Trolling was an art. But it was still a piece of shit cancer that had to go, which I think became more apparent with Reddit's adoption of it.
So people started pointing out trollposts with "This is bait" to prevent people shitting up threads with wasted posts replying to it.
And what happened? Trolls took it as a challenge & have devolved into posting the most insignificantly mundane shit just to get a (You). So insignificant that it easily passes under trolldars as being just a typo or bad English. So mundane that lots of people would notice... Comment too long. Click here to view the full text.
>>355756 Just in case you are not trolling (I will be responding to every post in this thread whether clearly a troll or not), tripfags are those who use tripcodes constantly just for the sake of individuality on an anonymous image board.
I'm using it as intended; to temporarily identify myself in this specific thread for the sake of preventing trolls calling themselves OP.
HIRO, IF YOU'RE READING THIS, DO NOT SPLIT /v/ INTO TWO BOARDS OR CHANGE ANY OF IT'S CURRENT RULES. INSTEAD, MAKE ANOTHER /v/ SPINOFF BOARD FOR JAPANESE GAMES ONLY AND LEAVE /v/ AS IT IS. 4CHAN IS A JAPANESE CULTURE CENTERED WEBSITE, SO HAVING A JAP-ONLY /v/ WOULD BE BENEFICIAL TO US.
Hiro actually made things worse with these word filters. Instead of just stopping using the filtered words (the intended outcome), the shitposters just ignored the filters and kept right on using them.
I am consumed with rage every time I see "desu senpai," more so than I was when I saw "Tbh f@m"
ITT: We compile a list of all the bugs on 4chan Hiro needs to fix. >/his/ and /trash/ don't have redirects from 4chan.org >/news/ doesn't have one either, and has a naming conflict with http://www.4chan.org/news/ >blotter and note feature have the exact same functionality, and need to be merged >http://www.4chan.org/japanese... Is it just me or is this board proving that lolicon and people who generally get off on cartoon sex are the most degenerate fuckheads on this entire site? No other group is going to these lengths to shit up /qa/ in a desperate attempt to annoy Hiro into folding to their will.
I hope you never get a loli board and I hope /d/ never gets merged or whatever you dumbasses are begging for. Goodnight.
We all know /co/ has a problem with generals, to the point some have to be outright banned when new episodes aren't airing. But when does a general meet the criteria for being banned? Take the Jessica Jones "talkback" that's currently on it's 5th thread, Luke Cage edition. If it continues for another week, should it be banned due to no new episodes coming for a year at the very least? Or should it be left alone since it's not spilling into other threads?
>>355492 >But when does a general meet the criteria for being banned? - when the general is faster than the board it's on - when people in said general care only about fanart, fanfics and the general itself rather than the IP the general is made for - when mods feel like it - when waifufags have pissed off enough people
4chan is a social website. No matter how much the original intent of the board was to create a completely anonymous community, it's impossible to upkeep. Hence why tripfags are a phenomena, and /soc/ is a thing.
In light of this, 4chan has adopted an anathema towards social interactions outside of anonymity. There is a constant stream of hate (and mutes/bans) for people who want to meet with their fellow anons outside of the tertiary aspect of board & post communication. It's slow and mechanical, but if you question it, you get re-directed to a cancerous... Comment too long. Click here to view the full text.
>>354880 That won't solve any issue and you know it. Like another anon said in another thread, deleting boards is a shitfest. Making new boards, however, potentially drives those who would be shitposting in a different topic board to go to their relevant one.
