The word filters have almost cleared out Twitter language shit from the board. Most people have given up on trying to get around it for right now, but it needs to stay up as long as possible. This seems to me like the word filter is one of the few successful methods of quashing shitposts on /v/ right now. Regardless of if any board splits are created or not, I think this filter needs to be implemented.
If /v/ can’t stop shitposting, then just make it harder to shitpost by adding even more word filters. Several shitposters will cry about their fun being ruined. Many even think word filters are “censorship”. Some will leave and some will stop shitposting. This also has the benefit of not requiring mod attention to get rid of common terrible posts.
More can always be added, but I think something like the following would work well right now:
Word filter the following buzzwords: Meme, weeb, weeaboo, (to catch those trying to use it after weeb doesn’t work) cancer, BTFO, shill, SJW, autis, (to catch both autism and autistic)
Make the following auto-warn and unpostable: HE, Bane?, Sheev, (anything from /tv/, really)
Make the following auto-ban and unpostable: Wife’s son, wife’s boyfriend, blacked, (shit like those)
I also think /v/ needs to get to the point where Pepe and other useless images like him can’t be posted, but that’s more difficult and adding more words to the filter is a start.
I can bet 70% of the people who post in shonenshit threads like Naruto or DBZ are filthy spics. They're the most obsessed about this stuff. Instead of outright banning discussion about certain anime or manga, you can circumvent that by blocking all the beaner IPs on /a/.
Splitting /v/ has nothing to do with "fixing /v/."
/v/ is and will always be a lost cause. Nothing you can do can fix it. /v/ will always find a way to shitpost.
The point of making /vg/, /vr/, and /vp/ was not to "fix" /v/, it was to create a good board with a good community, free from the wasteland of shitposting that will always be /v/.
The point of a regional split (turning /v/ into western video games and making /vj/ for japanese games) is not to lessen video games, its to remove the shit (see: western... Comment too long. Click here to view the full text.
Hello /qa/, I'm new here so forgive any informality - I journey here across from many boards along 4chan. After lurking through a few threads on this board it seems to me like I'm in the right place. This site has brought me many years of good times and much information to add to my database, though in my profession I keep finding myself limited to certain (more inappropriate) boards when wanting to discuss one of the most important topics in the world. I feel as though there should be a board where the medical communities of the world can collaborate for discussion,... Comment too long. Click here to view the full text.
You don't. I'm just going to copypaste but: >hey /med/, what are the dangers of sticking this object into my ass? >/med/ horror stories general >I asked the patient if he was a big guy during my nursing clinical, lel >I think I just overdosed on weed guys, what do? >hey /b/ how do I convince doctors to prescribe me vicodin? >okay /med/ichams purely hypothetical here, but how would... This looks accurate and seems like fun to me, topkek anon.
Are you going to tell me there aren't less functional boards on the site? In fact there is more than one containment board for idiots, and idiots comprise a large number of visitors every year. Sure there would be idiots, as with any board... But the actuals will be able to have a home board for true discussion based on good reference. It's just as deserving as /pol/ or /g/ from what I see. At least the /r/ aspects of /g/...
Hiro has agreed to force mods to step back on their overbearing moderation of NWS material on /a/, even though they were always allowed to post it. Does that mean we please return to the previous rules which allows Western content to be posted here?
The "no Western" rule had gone unenforced for years, and no longer served the needs of the community.
This was posted on /d/ first but deleted soon after: https://archive.loveisover.me/d/thread/6509652/
