Can mods please filter the word "reddit" like they did with fa.m tb.h etc.
Almost every single discussion that involves conflicting opinions on this site now mentions reddit as though we didn't have an entire language full of words you can use to express your opinion without parroting baseless, meaningless buzzwords. Its becoming an obsession and it makes conversation basically pointless.
It took a little while but black twitter posting has definitely died down since the filters were implemented, so I'm sure it will work again. Pls respond
>ITT: we discuss the creation of /*/ Some anons at the other thread gave a pretty cool board idea /*/ - Wildcard Wait, what? This board is supossed to change topics every month, biweekly or weekly. That way some anons can talk about that topics, and other anons maybe get interested on that. We could be put controversial topics (religion), niche hobbys (collectionism) or absolutely anything else. Also, this way we can 'test' boards and see if they have enough traffic to be a permanent board.
More and more I've really started to appreciate the Tumblr mentality of simply blocking out toxic people. I think a lot of us there realize that it's not about ignoring criticism entirely, it's about disregarding those who could not bring a constructive word to the table if their life depended on it. In other words, a type of person who is extremely prevalent on 4chan. There are certainly people who can say something you disagree with without being a dick about it, and so you can actually have a good discussion with them. I've found a good number of people like that on Reddit. It's just that a large chunk of a lot of communities are absolutely horrible people, and said people have no self-awareness so they get confused when people don't want to deal with their toxicity and think, "Ooh, I hate those people! It's just a hugbox and nobody's allowed to disagree with them!"
>>417422 I disagree. Filters are distasteful and the reason they are there is so sensitive outsiders don't have to see the usual filth on most boards. That said, you are entitled to use them if you want but it doesn't stop the people who make the comments that you're trying to filter out from making you have to filter everything out.
Scrolled down and saw you reblogged someone who was bitching about good art because it was supposedly made by "a known pedophile." Noticed you were laying upon them a rather savage smackdown. Just wanted to express my agreement. With that smackdown. Yes.
First of all, art sexualizing fictional children is disgusting, but it's not really wrong. On the contrary, it's probably one of the healthiest ways of coping with pedophilia. If this artist were a pedophile, way to fucking humiliate someone who's just trying his best to keep real, living children... Comment too long. Click here to view the full text.
>>417388 Besides that, people are multifaceted. Even if this person were engaged in sexual behavior of an unethical nature, that doesn't magically pollute their adorable Undertale art with those same intentions. You can enjoy the work of someone who did something you don't like. The deeds do not make the man. They make the case against the man. (Or for him.) What makes the man is something too complex to be summarized in language. Even if this artist were a convicted murderer, the same person who killed those people... Comment too long. I've seen some pretty fucking bad pre-2006 screencaps. I don't know from experience since I only hung out on /c/ back then but if those screencaps are meant to be "the cream of the crop" then I don't have high hopes for the rest of it.
I'm with you, but, unfortunately, it will not go to the "glory days". We need moderation help to do this, and the mods are faggots. Hiro also wants to make this site profitable, so obviously he wants more users, not less users. Unless you convice Hiro to ban cancer, ban newfags, ban HTTP referrers from Reddit, Tumblr, YouTube, Twitter and Facebook and make frequent CSS hacks, 4chan will not go to "the glory days".
