I'm willing to bet 80% of the people on here right now have been using r9k for less than 4 months
I remember coming on r9k the day it was created but i didnt use it because i had no idea what it was for. I would stop by once in a while and i remember everyone here used to call each other gentlemen and have a lot of green text stories. idr when i started frequenting r9k but it was definitely after moot put the beta as fuck tag on it. fuck i've been on this fucking site for too long
I remember reading stories on here in 08.
But you're probably right. Most people don't even remember that shit.
I don't even remember when I started coming here. But I've been off and on for years. It was back when it was a really depressing place though. Way before all of the frog posters and non rowboats started frequenting. (so it seems anyway, maybe my memory of this board is just fucked)
Yeah I was posting on /r9k/ on day one, it was basically a haven for old /b/fags after 4chan got really popular from habbo and battletoads and shit.
Being called a newfag or getting reee'd is surreal.
>tfw you met your wife here
>most blissful and enjoyable 6 years of your life
>/soc/ was created to stop robots from meeting each other
>current robots will never understand the feel of marrying your pure virgin qt from /r9k/
>they will never break their wife's hymen
>they will never impregnant her
>they won't raise a pure beautiful daughter together
There was substance to it then. The board in its current state was about 85% constant flow of nonfiltered Internet thoughts until recently.
thank goodness our glorious robot overlord has come back to spark some originality into the postings of mindless drivel
One of the 80% checking in. Been visiting /a and /b for many years though, might've looked in here a few times in the past but only the past month I've been visiting here daily, why? Mainly the anime threads, they become very scarce on /b these days so I crawled over here to satisfy that need. Why not /a/? Because the anime threads on /b are a lot more chill, less restricted and accomodates for both noobs and hardcore weebs which made for a very rewarding discussion at its best, I can still find that sort of threads here occasionally.
Generally I'm not sure it's a good idea to dogmatically try to maintain a board exactly as it was at one point in time, some times when a drastic change is happening to a board some group of people break out and make their own board somewhere, but for some reason those boards usually go stale pretty quickly, eventhough they're meant to be "the peak". So I think there's a quality in getting new blood.
so? what are you gonna do about nerd.
Too many fucking normies on this board, we need a culling desu senpai
Op are you acnekun?
... Here we go... The truth will set us free.
I've been on 4chan since 2011, my earliest memory of being here was soon before all the poopoo peepee bullshit. I had visited before, of course. But not frequently.
>Tfw part of the 20% but not a true oldfag.
I don't even know what I count as, a
Speaking of older shit, does Eeyore still post or did he off himself, haven't seen him for a while?
