I believe that all planets that are imaged are observed instantly in the sky and not determined by the speed of light. I believe that stars are not clear images but instead some sort of composite of the star itself and the corona which it produces. I believe that when things are measured small- that the speed of light has the most application. I believe that the speed of light is a purely manmade venture and that it finds its' justification in the measurement of our essential world bound instruments.
I do not believe that the observation of Jupiter and its' moons...

Peace be with you.

Logically thinking, isn't there a higher chance of the universe being a simulation than there is of it actually being real?

Any intelligent lifeform would probably want to simulate an universe (humans would do it if they could). Since nothing is actually random, if you know the starting conditions of your universe and simulate it with the ability to control the time, you can see into the future.

Let's assume our universe is a simulation, and quarks and atoms are simply digital information. The real universe hosting this simulation would have to be a bigger...

Howcome everyone is talking about CERN and their LHC, but no one here on /sci/ seems to even know the existance of MAX IV?

I mean, MAX IV is quite more advanced than LHC and they will be able to conduct diffrent testings, which isnt doable in LHC.

That's ONE of the multiple things MAX IV will be doing, yeah..?
They have a particle accelerator where they'll conduct tests much like LHC.

And their particle accelerator is smaller, yes, but that just means the tests will be done in a smaller scale? Does not mean they will preform high end tests on unkown subjects?

Regardless of that, it's still the worlds strongest and most advanced synchrotron radiation...

It breaks and costs us a lot of money. There's no even small-scale existential risk.

Can someone give me the lowdown on wi-fi radio band? Completely safe for long term use even up close? For example my niece is lying with her ipad on her stomach for hours every day, is that all fine and harmless?

There is more danger involved in standing outside in the sunlight for 15 minutes than there is in being exposed to any amount of radio waves. The likelyhood that they would have any significant, intelligible effect on the human body is unbelievably low. If you want to know more about why, look up Radio Waves and read anything about what they are. Using your deductive skills and knowledge of biology, put two and two together. And then sage and die.

Thanks for the answer, even though you're a cheeky little cunt. Anyone have a differing opinion?
>>
>>8286694
studies have shown that a couple of hours of a wlan sourcr nearby have the around the same effects as 15 minutes of sunlight on you. The likelyhood that this has long term health effects on you is in fact surprisingly high.

This is the perfect kind of problem to troll people. Its statement can be understood by high school students or anyone who has learned about functions (that's in Math 001). It should be easy. But is it?
Here is where the experts will start to shake their heads knowingly, but I'm conducting an experiment to see if people, including & especially math majors, can solve it without already knowing the main lemma used in the proof. Maybe they can give a new solution too? Try your best, /sci/.

The formulation of the statement is odd. You could just say
>Then there is a set [math] A \subset X [/math] such that [math] g[ Y - f[A] ] = X - A [/math].

Anyway, I'll start.

If g is surjective, then A={} works:
[math] g[ Y - f[A] ] = g[ Y - \{\} ] = g[ Y ] = X = X - \{\} = X - A [/math]

If f is surjective so that f(X)=Y, then A=X works:
[math] g[ Y - f[A| ] = g[ Y - f[X| ] = g[ Y - Y ] = g[ \{\} ] = \{\} = X - X = X - A [/math]

the permanent entropic state of the universe makes achievements rather pointless. everything we do will decay. so when you get down to it people achieve things ultimately for that dopamine reward, now drugs get straight to the point. these achievements are as relatively transient as being high but require so much more effort. now you can say there is value in achievement in itself but that is on a whim. the best one can do is say achievement makes them feel better than drugs but then most reasonably it's a matter of relative reward / relative effort. and a steady supply...

Most of the videos that have "working" versions of these are hoaxes that use an airflow off camera to spin the "motor".

The main reason for these not working is due to the "cogging" effect between one magnet field and the next. This robs power from the spin even if you manually spin it to get it started. The more magnets you add the more "cogs" there are, the smoother it will be, but it reduces the...

Our black hole model is wrong, world lines do not cross over event horizons.
Spacetime below the event horizon is inverted. The singularities of the event horizon and at the origin emerge because the black hole is built upon a spherical metric which becomes inverted and an inverted sphere is a pseudosphere which has a singularity at its equator and one at its origin.
The negative, inverted spacetime of the black hole can entangle a distant black hole, forming an Einstein-Rosen bridges.
The E-R bridges...
