gonna take my final in 10 minutes Electricity and magnetism is the worst fucming class i ever took. >Le just beliebe it teaching method Fuck this class. This class never made any sense All physics and engineers who are good at this kind of classes must he the biggest spergs or autists that will never get laid
I'm starting to reliase that all majors except for mathematics and physics are vanity majors or wageslave majors. Either thye're like enigneering: designed to act as a conveyor belt for unfortunate youths from school to wageslavery such as engineering / finance careers, or vanity stuff like english, biology, chemistry, huamnities, arts: a 4 year country club experience where a pretense of learning is instilled yet nothing rigorous ever takes place.
I'm unsure where to put computer science. It ranges from maths / physics tier to wageslave tier, depending... Comment too long. Click here to view the full text.
>>7719662 What evidence is there for you to assert that sleep deprivation simulates "deep and blunt honesty and introspection?" Is this just personal experience? What do you mean by the minds "general processing chain?"
>>7719685 >What evidence is there for you to assert that sleep deprivation simulates "deep and blunt honesty and introspection?" It's an anecdote.
I'm sure I could dig up some literature on fMRI studies showing a shift in what brain regions are most active during certain tasks, and as a general baseline, then extrapolate that to memory and reasoning, etc. Or observational studies, changes in brain chemistry / hormone secretion. All that. But it's just an anecdote... Comment too long. Click here to view the full text.
>>7719600 Civil Engineering is rather underrated. The problem with the modern discipline is that research has started to stagnate. The only active fields seem to be transportation and advances in material science propagating from other fields.
Let's not get started on the green architecture meme, optimizing heat exchange networks is not real research.
This one has been bothering me for days, supposedly if A is identity matrix, det(A) has to be 1, does this mean if the determinant of a matrix equals 1, that matrix has to be necessarily the identity matrix? I don't even know where to start with this... Any ideas?
Is this a suitable scale for a linear regression line? The minimum of the mean weight is 0.1275 and the maximum is 11.6140. It just seems far too big for how small the minimum is. Minitab wont let me show the exact values for the mean for some reason
>>7719516 We were told a liner regression line was meant to be used. We were given the weights of fish caught on specific dates in the year. I decided to make a scatter plot of the data of the mean rather than the all of the data because it looks like a mess.
>lmao! who the fuck would believe the thousands of psychologists and psychiatrists with thousands of combined experience and lab time?! obviously someone like me who has taken phys 1 and 2, and organic chemistry knows psychology ISNT a real science! fucking pseudo idiots! xD
>>7719524 The only valid thing to come out of psychology is approaching neurology from the top down. Testing for cognitive heuristics, ways people tend to respond and what that indicates about what's going on in their mind and driving their behaviors, finding hardwired bottlenecks, like those with linguistic processing, thinking about memory subsystems, etc.
But that's the beginning and the end. All the rest is "mental illness", the belief of which is itself is a delusion of the mentally ill. The more... Comment too long. Click here to view the full text.
So, how dedicated are you into your studies /sci/?
>How many hours are you studying each day? >Do you prefer studying at home/dorm or the library? >Are you planning your study sessions few days/weeks before? >Ever used or tried any stimulants to 'enhance' your study sessions? >What was (one of) your most enjoyable moments while studying? >Are you drinking enough water to keep... I am pretty dedicated to my studies, but that's just because just how I am, I put 100% effort into anything I do.
If i had to average it out over the whole semester i would say around 5 hours of studying a day on top of going to class. ( i never study for only 5 hours at a time, i do 12- 16 hour long sessions and then take time off other days of the week)
I know my Schedule with what projects i am doing what weekend and what days i am studying for what midterm / exam.
I have done drugs, pretty much any good one worth mentioning but not for studying...... Comment too long. Click here to view the full text.
I think the number "TEN" should have its OWN numeral as I always wondered, since we're so used to counting in COMPLETE UNITS of TEN, why are there 2 numerals that represent the last number in each unit? Why have we started counting with a 1 in front of the TEN space? I think it should be like this.
and now that we are moving on from TEN it's...
11 12 13 14 15 16 17 18 19 1X
Ah, you thought 2x? well again, because we have 10 SPECIFIC numerals instead of only 9 and confusingly using 2 numerals to represent TEN,... Comment too long. Click here to view the full text.
I graduated with a BA in psychology last year but I'm looking to jump into a master's program for something outside of psych. It's a fun field but the pay is abysmal all around and I won't be able to survive off of what I make forever. I've been looking towards my local university that offers a MS in CS where you can do software development, computer systems, or computer engineering, and I'll be meeting with them this week to discuss options. But, any suggestions for something that I can get into without another bachelor's degree?
>>7719241 You can, there are many programs out there that let you in if you either have the mathematical aptitude, or are fine taking the prereqs to gtake the masters. In most situations I would just retake the BS in CS, although masters are more impressive
What's the deal with this guy anyway? Was he just some eccentric too big for his britches or was there some fuckery afoot? Why did Wardenclyffe Tower mysteriously shoot rays of light into the sky then stop working with no explanation? Why did he dig massive holes in the ground to connect to the earth or some shit? Why did the FBI raid his offices?
After unusual night, when he fired the sky above not only New York but also above all vast area of Atlantic Ocean during his experiment, Tesla suddenly left his laboratory without a clear reason and left all things untouched. As we know, he never crossed the threshold of Wardenclyffe, never visited it and never appeared on this territory. It was very strange, he didn’t take any calculation, drawing or document, none paper. It was a turning point in his public scientific work. He was living for 40 years continuously working, but he patented his mechanical discoveries only and... Comment too long. Click here to view the full text.
