Before diving into a proper study of it: everything I've heard is quite popsci-related, I wonder if there's anything to it or if it's purely mathematical.

After dabbling in some string theory basics: it's a very sensible, physical theory that was bound to be discovered at some point. The properties of the quantized string modes so nicely map onto a usual graviton/photon/gauge particle understanding. The fact that internal consistency reproduces the einstein-maxwell equations is also incredibly satisfying. Overall it's just a very physical theory...

I am going to hijack this thread to ask a related question about integrals.

In his pic he has the integral of sin(x)/x from some constant to infinity and that means that the graph of that function changes sign infinitely many times.

I've learned that to get the total area of your graph you need to separate the integral into intervals that are completely positive and completely negative (and absolute value these ones) and them add them up one by one to get the total area, instead of mixing intervals...

Because a planet like that would be so visible to amateur astronomers to see a x10 thing bigger than Earth.

And let's not talk about how gravity and other solar bodies (planets, astedoid, etc.) would be affected for this.

But of course, some people know how to make money about this... for example, just look all the 300 nibiru-channels there are on youtube right now, to dedicated only about this imaginary fear-porn planet.

No, it is because of the now confirmed pilot wave interpretation of quantum mechanics.

Particles have waves they sort of ride on and it turns out these waves also have weight. So before newtonian physics measured the mass and weight of particles but did not account for the wave mass and wave weight of the particle.

And what do we know about waves? That they interfere with each other. So the more waves we put together, they more they could weight. In your specific example, lets say that your 100 lb pound...

From this you can probably pretty precisely calculate the curvature of the earth.

If we are talking about simple intra-species genetic engineering then probably not if the gene has a a reasonable distribution throughout the human subpopulations.

If it is inter-species or more complex sequence engineering then yes, it would be easily identified as a foreign gene because it's sequence is completely different to any other in the genome catalogue.

The reason for these explanations is that most of the differences...

I got dubs twice in a row so I decided to figure out the probability of that

So getting dubs once: either you get dubs or you don't: 50/50.

These events are pretty much independent so it's 0.5*0.5=0.25 not to get dubs so 75% chance of getting dubs twice in a row. Also 75% chance to not get dubs, because 1-0.5*0.5=0.75.

Therefore 0.75/1.5=0.5 is the chance of getting dubs twice. That's 50%, like flipping a coin.
