Windies vs Meme Zealand
Windies currently need chase 394 and already up to 7 wickets
Can they do it?
So you BTFO the windies
What's the next step in your master plan?
Can this be a new meme?
lleyl was an ancient ancestor of lel. He fought in the legendary war of memes. Before that time world was divided into small tribes of memes. Finally everyone decided they've had enough, and went onto full on fighting. There was chaos, there was confusion. There was everything but hope. Suddenly awoke a light. It was lleyl." From now on no one shall fight. This world will be under peace, guided by me", he said. There were no memetic wars after that; atleast till he was alive.

>these black bulls sure know how to handle a big stick with some balls
Only if Windies hadn't lost the wickets.
Fucking beach paddlers can't hold one end. If only they had a couple of more wickets and that 'ground' would've been an en zed piss swamp.
updated meme pic tbh lads, World Cup is soon over lads feel free to add more memes if I missed out on any and we can look back at this super meme in 5 years at the next World Cup
Okay so I was the guy trying to contextualize the NZ guy's score. How much of a comeback, so to speak, would it be if the other team ended up winning? I am beginning to get the idea of wickets, the scoring system isn't really confusing, but I'm confused about the way that results get displayed.
if chris gale was a bucket he would be chris pail
if he was white he would be chris pale
if he was a vegetable he would be chris kale
if he was a walking track he would be chris trail
if he was a fighter he would be chris flail
if he was a rock he would be chris shale
nah, looking at the context of it, being a world cup quarter final, just got completely thrashed by the other side, being a completely shit team, this would have been the greatest chase in ODI history
NZ score was huge
WI play very recklessly and therefore can score at a pretty quick rate but lose a lot of wickets, if they lose another one now the game is over so it would be the single greatest comeback ever in the history of sport if they won from here.
Keep in mind that the batters get shitter as they get further down, most teams the last 2-3 batters would be lucky to get 10-20 runs on a good day.
Game is over
See you in 5 years lads
Okay so the game is over now, I just want one more explanation. What is the difference between winning by runs and wickets? Is it like "Side A exceeded the runs of Side B and needed X less wickets to do so"?
Post yfw had Samuels caught Guptill, West Indies would have won. Jk.
See you in 5 years boys. At least we'll always have the T20's.
>tfw dad told me New Zealand was winning the WC long before it started
>tfw should've listened
Good night bros
like in this game new zealand won by 143 runs, which means west indies scored 143 less essentially, its pretty self explanatory. in terms of wickets, if this last pair won the game for west indies for example, it would have said "west indies won by 1 wicket" because they were 9 down out of their 10 batters.
Official lovable teams to bandwagon that deserve to win the Wold Cup Power Rankings
1. South Africa
3. New Zealand
(I know already know India will win the WC again)
He seems like one of those quiet anime guys who gets picked on all the time tbh
But his cricket playing more popular friends know he has talent if he just learns to believe in himself
Thank you for your hospitality, /cric/friends. If you ask a question in an MLB thread and I see it, I will answer in a comprehensive and courteous manner.
I will still banter in an MLB v. Cricket thread because /sp/.
>kiwis incharge of understanding the rules of cricket and handling the banter
Warner is the biggest knob in world sport (but the fucker can bat),
Starc and Faulkner seem like great blokes. Haddin gives alot of lip but seems a good sport. Smiles alot, always friendly post match.
>mfw NZ will have to leave their memegrounds and play somewhere with a real boundary line: The MCG
To be honest its better to have a SA vs NZ semi. There needs to be a villian in the world cup and I hope to god Australia wins their semi so we can lay shit down on them at the MCG.
Watching matchpoint Martin Crowe seems surprisingly hale, so it seems he should get through to the end of this cup.
I wonder how it feels to be presenting alongside someone you've known for years but has months to live.
Is anybody supposed to win this thing outright?
I mean is there a clear favorite? If I stream I'd like to root for underdogs, so who are they? Probably South Africa, right? Because Africa = underdog?
The MCG isn't a meme ground
>walk out to bat
>meme the ball
>get caught in the deep
>"w-what that isn't supposed to happen"
>walk out to bat
>spoon ball up in air
>ball isn't dropped
>"w-what that isn't supposed to happen"
>bowl the ball
>doesn't swing because it's not Meme Zealand
>gets hit for six (say it in a Kiwi accent) by a cuck
>"w-what that isn't supposed to happen"
Leading fantasy by almost 400 points with 3 games to go.
Honestly? All four teams have a good chance of winning this cup.
If I had to rate the chances it would be
There's really not much to pick between them though.
the whole team is a meme team (memewell, memtchell starc, the one with the bung back) motivated by faux meme tears doing it for philip mewes in a final at a meme city (memebourne)
>le Black Caps will le struggle in Australia even though we haven't le actually seen le them play le at le MCG yet le
People thought Straya would score 450 at Memeden Park but there's no real way of predicting what's going to happen because it's been so long since they've played in Australia. We'll just have to wait and see.
that comfy feeling knowing your team is playing the final on their home ground
The point is, Boult and Southee are swing-babbies, it barely moves through the air in Straya, certainly not after a few overs.
That's why bouncebabbies like Johnson and HazleGOAT do well here. Starc is almost an aberration to how Aussies normally bowl
Strayan conditions will drastically nullify the effectiveness of the NZ attack if they reach the final
And none of New Zealand's bowlers are nearly as talented as any of them
You can't use three of the greatest bowlers in the history of the sport to argue the point. Those guys were anomalies (and for the record, Wasim and Steyn at his peak did bowl 150+).
>we should've dropped le glasses man
Fatty in for Elliott and BMac at 5 tbh
Because he's tall (6'7"), he bowls 150+, he reverses it with the old ball and has a lethal yorker.
And infact he hasn't been successful at all with the redball yet, it's only in white-ball cricket he has been effective.
>leading the collapse against australia with his poor shot selection.
>Old tired legs chasing boundaries.
>Increasing ineffectual bowling.
He has heart but old yellar has to be put down one day.
>not sure if this is bait
>ignoring the fact his bowling, by locking up Warnercuck and Watshit who were flying, precipitated the Strayan collapse which allowed NZ to win the match
Im not gonna lie, I am worried. I don't think our bowlers will do well with those hard pitches. But I think the australian arrogance will do them in and we will sneak in with a wicket to spare.
Part of the reason I think Starc has never cracket it at Test level is because he never gets a proper go
His entire career has literally been 'In, Out, In, Out, In, Out ad infinium'.
As an example, in the 2013 Ashes, he played the 1st, 3rd and 5th Tests...
I think he has only played 2 Tests in a row literally once.
it's hard to build consistency and rhythm when you're constantly in and out of the team.
Lightning won't strike twice m9
in australia conditions
NZ openers >> Aus openers
NZ middle order < Aus middle order
NZ lower order << Aus lower order
NZ pace bowlers << Aus pace bowlers
NZ Spin >>>>>>>>> Aus Spin
NZ Meme factor < Aus Meme factor
he bowled against batters who had little shot selection discipline. He knew how to bowl to pleb batters considering how reckless the were in trying to hit boundaries . Get him against a Maxwell and the guy is garbage.
>NZ openers >> Aus openers
you can have one > at best
Warnercuck is in better form than McMeme and before the last couple of weeks I think anyone would have taken Finch over Guptlel
>before the last couple of weeks I think anyone would have taken Finch over Guptlel
zero people would now though
A few years ago, Stove was basically Glenn Maxwell
I have never rated Memecullum in ODi's, he is batting like Afridi, not a real batsman. It's like he just walks out, tries and hits every ball for 6 till he gets out.
Bird and Hazlewood are pretty good tbh. And I hear good things about Behrendoff
He's like the Phil Hughes of bowling, guy never gets a fair go in tests. Personally I don't think you can play both Starc and Johnson in the same test team since they're both strike bowlers that are prone to having off days
He reminds me of Warner before last year. He doesn't seem to have the right balance between t20s and tests. Ideally he should come in at 5 to slog at the death but because fat fuck Ryder is an alcohol he has to open for the sake of the team.
It sucks because he was made to bat at around 5 or 6.
>'NZ will be easy, there a meme team.'
>lose at the memden park
You guys constantly underestimate your opposition and overestimate your ability especially under clarkes captaincy. If you guys had a different captain maybe it would be different I guess but let me say I wouldn't be surprised if you guys lost in the semis or finals
>Personally I don't think you can play both Starc and Johnson in the same test team since they're both strike bowlers that are prone to having off days
This is a valid point, when Johnson hasn't been in the team, Starc has been far far better.
When Johnson is in, Starc becomes first change and I think he gets confused by his role.
The third seamer in the Strayan Test team normally has the role of keeping it tight, maintaining line and length, keeping pressure up and allowing the two strike bowlers (Harris/johnson) to do the damage. It also generally requires bowling long spells.
That role doesn't suite Starc at all. The problem is you can't play Johnson, Starc and Harris at the same time because then you have no stock bowler unless idk you play Watshit and Best Marsh at the same time.
Came back to the team but was dropped for having a pissup the night before a test match when he was in the squad. Hasn't been picked since.
He was killing it in county cricket last year and was picked for the NZ A tour to the UAE, but bitched out because of muh personal reasons and so hasn't been picked.
Now he spends his time beating up fat internet bloggers for shekels
Thanks m8, tbh I think we're pretty set
In time I think Hazlegood will become the permanent first change bowler. He has a reputation for bowling long spells for NSW (altho strangely he seemed a little unfit in the Indian series).
Also we have 6 tests against NZ in the summer. I think that'll be a time of considerable change and experiment for Straya. Rogers, Harris & Baddin will retire after the Ashes. I would expect Joe Burns to move to opener (>tfw no Phil Hughes) and from what I've seen, Rod Marsh (a former keeper himself) doesn't rate Wade at all so I'd expect Whiteman to replace Baddin.
As for replacing Harris, we have plenty of options (Patto, Cummins etc)
His finger got absolutely fucked and mangled, had surgery on it like 10 times, he missed like 18 months of cricket and has never been close to the same player
Whiteman is ticking all the boxes. He's probably the best gloveman in the country after Hartley, is only 23 and is scoring runs. On the downside, he was born in Englel, which will come back to bite us.
yeah tbh a year ago when I saw the schedule, I thought the 15/16 summer would be fair shit (9 blowout Test matches), but NZ's little golden age as made it interesting
If I had to predict a Strayan XI by then, I'd guess:
I think Twatto will be finished as a Test player by then. I've always rated him in ODI's/t20, I just simply don't think he's good enough for Tests anymore.
No idea who goose is and I'm from Shitney m9
it's a meme, but he's declined steadily ever since he started his banana thing.
Against India in '11/12, he was bowling 148kp/h average. He's now down to 130-135.
he even looks thinner
I sware if the SCG groundsman doesn't rollout an absolute greentop the cunt should be sacked and brought before a royal commission.
What he did in the Test match and the match against Sri Lanka was akin to treason. If he pulls that stunt again he should be labelled as such
>late night ashes shitposting
As long as I don't get called into work it's gonna be great
>anyone giving a shit about corruption: the league
>mfw remembering 2013 Ashes
Other than the loss it was pretty great.
Tbh that whole series was spoilt because it always felt the whole series didn't matter, or was a warmup even, because the next started just a few months later
"What kind of flightplan would you like"
>"just fuck my plane up"
Reporting from /a/ but with a better image.
