>>57468236 It's called economic freedom. Do you want a socialist league like in the US?
They only need to get rid of the stupid 50+1 rule and let foreign companies buy teams like in the EPL. Manchester United States of America vs. Russian Federation of Chelsea vs Arab City of Manchester is still better than Bayern vs. victim XY
>>57468148 >>57468153 oh no the best club in the league is interested in the league's top scorer, absolutely disgusting. every club buys the best players they can get, get your heads out of your arses. this is just as ridiculous as saying dortmund only wanted to destroy competitors for a cl spot by buying reus for example.
>>57468282 It's not necessarily one or the other. There must be some middle ground. I mean, we used to have both parity and competition between non-plastic clubs, at least to some extent.
Maybe the best way for us to go is to force the EPL to be shown on the BBC to destroy the TV money, and maybe put a 50+1 rule in or something. Don't know how you'd fix your league, it looks fucked tbh.
>>57468314 Enforcing those kinds of rules just ruins leagues more. Football evolves, the small teams always figure out a neat way to compete, albeit temporarily.
If the EPL was on the BBC, it would just reduce attendance for games, and destroying TV money will just diminish the English clubs' ability to compete on the continent. Funny thing is teams there don't rely on TV money much anyway, with Arsenal getting a huge chunk (like 60%) of their revenue from matchday sales (tickets and everything sold at stadiums). Chelsea, Man Utd and City all get most of their dough from sponsors.
What you're taking fit is to make (the league) shittier so that shittier teams can compete, which won't work.
>>57468302 it makes sense though, he is the perfect replacement for ribery or robben. both of them are often injured, robben is now out for 2 months over nothing but a simple tackle. ribery has a new injury every other game.
bayern is ageing, and they know it. their current young players are good but not as good as those they are supposed to replace. but de bruyne is.
The thing that they don't seem to realise or care about is that they're just cucking themselves in the long run.
One-club-leagues are never successful. Look at Scotland and look at France (until the last couple of years). They become unattractive for top footballers, they get fat and lazy because they win so easily at home, and then eventually they start flopping in Europe.
>>57468409 statistically speaking bayern dominate the bundesliga less than manchester united has dominated the EPL (when judging by league wins). and i dont think people call the EPL a one-team league.
>>57468430 Probably because the EPL has a ton of money, talent and some of the richest clubs in the world. They are able to compete. No one is cherry picking all of the good/key players from the entire league like Buyern does in the Bundes.
>>57468474 I think the lack of sustained competition makes them weaker in Europe actually. They rarely face genuine competition so when they finally do, they have difficulty playing at their highest level.
>>57468513 Alright mate, great point, well made, and I feel foolish for even disagreeing with you. You've clearly and gracefully proven that not only is the Bundesliga the best league in the world, but that Bayern is also one of the most honest and likable clubs ever to have played the sport. Give me your PayPal and I'll send you my tuition fees for this semester, because you've taught me more about argumentation, oration and logic than any poxy university ever could. And I don't want to be too forward here, but could I have your email address please? I'd really like it if we could get some sort of dialogue going here, and perhaps some sort of mentor/mentee relationship eventually?
Or just fucking kill yourself, because your posts are worthless and you're ruining this thread.
serie a and bundesliga are equally boring, everyone knows bayern and juve will win, if one does it by 20 and the other 15 who cares
serie a got fucked over by corruption and general mismanagement, but if they get their shit together theres at least some chance inter and ac milan can challenge juve, much more chance than anyone in the bundesliga challenging bayern for a sustained period (until they sell their best players to them)
nobody is calling bayern a plastic money club, we're criticising the state of the bundesliga and how a team winning the league 50% of the time for the past 40 years is very boring and perhaps should not be happening
>sugardaddy club buys player for 100 million >whatever >bayern wants to buy player to replace others who are past it / will retire soon >LOL BUYERN DOES IT AGAIN SHIT LEAGUE DISGUSTING TEAM top kek, /sp/ is fucking retarded >mfw ABB butthurt everywhere
>>57468544 No it wasn't fair, but this is proffessional sport? Not U10s sunday league. What did Arsenal do in retaliation? They adjusted their model to be able to compete with Chelsea. Thats my whole fucking point. You don't cut down Chelsea to make Arsenal good, you let Arsenal git gud, which they did. Now you have a higher standard of cimpetition instead of chopping down a grower.
>>57468595 Arsenal were the best team in England in 2003/04, roughly when Chelsea started spending the oil bucks. That Arsenal team would have gone on to win FAR more than they ended up winning. The fact that they didn't is a direct result of the increase in competition from Chelsea.
It's literally bullshit that they were screwed over while Buyern are allowed to run their corrupt league as they please.
>>57468588 Bayern aren't just replacing a player, they're also weakening the rest of the league too. It would be like if Juve bought all of AC, Inter, Roma and Napoli's best players. It's not a case of $$$, it's a case of a league becoming so polarised that even clubs in 2nd place are begging for scraps from the table of the leader.
>>57468585 then other clubs need to step the fuck up. in the same time frame bayern doubled their turnover, shitty muh tradition clubs like stuttgart, bremen or hamburg barely managed to keep their's on the same level. that is not bayern's fault, that is bad management. the opposite example would be dortmund. why people on /sp/ choose to believe that dortmund is dead is beyond me. the most important thing to stay at/near the top in modern football is generating high turnover consistently. look at pic related. dortmund isn't some kind of small fish, some victim of bayern. they are a big club, in germany and in europe (11th highest turnover that year).
people need to fucking learn a bit about the bundesliga before they spout their bullshit all over /sp/.
>>57468646 this too, holy shit. it is so fucking retarded to think that bayern is somehow at fault for wolfsburg, schalke, leverkusen etc being too bad to win their matches against bottom of the table clubs.
but hans, i knew this already, this doesnt change the fact a team winning 50% of the leagues for the past 40 years is laughable and it might be a good idea for some to say maybe we should try to create an interesting league
but lets have football just be about who can get the most chinese sponsorships and whatever else, thats healthy
>>57468628 When Chelsea buy Rooney, De Gea, Di Maria, RvP, Shaw, Sterling, Sturridge, Henderson, Coutinho, Hazard, Courtois, Cech, Cesc, Costa, Terry, Szczesny, Sanchez, Oxlade-Chamberlain, Ozil, Ramsey, Yaya Toure, Aguero, Hart, Kompany, Zabaleta, Silva, Eriksen, Lamela, Kane, Loris, Paulinho and Chadli, then maybe I'll see your point. Until then, the EPL spending big money is neither here nor there, because the big clubs generally buy talent from abroad.
>>57468619 First off, thats not why the trophies stopped, but we can talk about this in /arse/. Secondly, look at it from a Chelsea fan's (lol) point of view. The league was switching between Utd and Arsenal, your team wins jack shit. All they did is find a way to compete, even if that way is a Russian criminal. Its still within the rules, so they did it.
As mad as Arsenal fans might be, Wenger and Dien and the other board members understood the goal was to compete, not to expect your opposition to stay shit. Hence the Emirates, and, as predicted, they now have enough money to at least compete, meanwhile the other teams now all want new stadiums.
>>57468688 >and the bundesliga is being left behind by interesting leagues In what way exactly? Its producing a shitload of talent, leading its NT to World Cup glory. Its Champions are constantly European challengers, it houses one of the best teams in the world.
In what way is the EPL better than Bundesliga ? Funny thing is with the incoming EPL home grown player changes, England is trying to be MORE like the bundesliga/la liga.
>>57468700 >it is not a situation that seems desirable to me that simple generating revenue is now the main concern of a football club
that's much much truer for the premier league than it is for bayern though. bayern always reinvest most of their revenue directly into their football structures, the rest is simply getting put aside for big short-term investments.
>>57468775 the point is that people are complaining about the massive capitalist playground that is modern professional football when it doesn't please them (bayern) but look the other way when it does (premier league).
bayern, as an organisation, wants to regularly challenge for the champions league title. their main competition? big money from england. that's just how it is.
man united and arsenal struck lucky they were at the top when tv revenue exploded, chelsea and city are only there because of ridiculous foreign investment and liverpool are historically our biggest club but still struggle to really compete
to me the end logic of the current state of football is a european super league, where the richest clubs (bayern, madrid, barca, man united etc) split off from domestic to make an insane amount of money and have all of the top talent
and the domestic leagues are left to develop their own players, have a more local connection and produce players for the nt
yeah no, england will catch up. maybe not next season, maybe not the season after, but they will. youth programs and maybe finally looking at tactical advancements from the continent again after 50 years will let them grow strong again.
well take liverpool and tottenham, they are far more concerned by getting to the top 4 than doing well in the europa
the epl is in a bit of a lull in european competition it is true, but a few years ago 2 or 3 teams were regularly getting to the CL semi finals and a shit tier team like fulham got to the EL final
chelsea will improve over the summer, man city will too, as will united and arsenal will probably as well, but there probably is something in the play style/tactic that work well in the PL are very different to those that work in european competition being an issue
>>57468834 I don't know when JF's will learn that no one gives a fuck about the Europa. If a team does well as well as doing well in the league then fine but as soon as it becomes an issue then fucking nope
>>57468883 because football is also an arbitrary habitat governed by its own laws. regardless of effect on their respective leagues: bayern worked for their money, over decades. chelsea just got it over night. and fifa says that one model is better than the other.
My father worked at the Volkswagen factory in Wolfsburg his entire life. He loved that factory. Every day he spent there he enjoyed. And guess what? He also supported VFL Wolfsburg. Wolfsburg were his inspiration to work in the factory. He loved Volkswagen and Wolfsburg. He loved them more than me. Whenever Wolfsburg scored a goal he would jump up and celebrate with his car keys. If I tried to hug him he would push me away. Whenever Wolfsburg won a match he would do the same. I remember for his birthday I bought him a Wolfsburg away shirt. He did not thank me, he thanked his Volkswagen car and spent the day inside it eating cake with the VFL Wolfsburg logo in his new shirt. On bring your son to work day he would make me sit next to him while he assembled cars. He named every piece of metal after a Wolfsburg player. He would be able to recognise in the street each piece of metal. We would drive past a Volkswagen Golf and he would say ''Look, the door is Jürgen Rische!''. This is the only time he interacted with me. He hated me and loved Wolfsburg and Volkswagen. His last words to me were ''die Volkswagen Passat ist zuverlässiger als Sie''.
Why do Bayern spit on my fathers grave? Fuck Bayern Munich. They are a cancer. Fuck them for what they have done. All my father wanted was to see Wolfsburg dominate German football and Volkswagen to entail 90 percent of cars in Germany but they never will while Bayern continue to cheat and while Mercedes lie in their advertising. Fuc Bayern. I hope the club dies.
>>57468874 Let's take a realistic look at the top 4 teams that will represent England in the CL next season and probably the season after too. (in no particular order) Chelsea Arsenal United City
Chelsea are a main stay in the competition as simply choked hard against PSG, that won't appen again. They will slightly improve in the summer too. No worries here for the upcoming seasons as they are always in the mix to win the CL.
Arsenal. Well Arsenal are Arsenal and I firmly believe that as long as Wenger reigns over the club they won't win a CL (league is a different matter). They have a good squad with obvious flaws that either take forever to fix or never get fixed plus tons of injuries every season. Add the constant choke in the group stages (always finishing second) and that they always find a way to fuck themselves over in the home leg and you get the annual RO 16 exit. Won't change until those flaws are fixed and/or Wenger leaves.
United might play dogshit, even with their current resurgence, but they will finish in the top 4 and Van Laal took his dear time to find his best 11 but I think he got it right now. They have a history of doing well in Europe and Van Gaal is experienced enough to deliver the trophy especially after another MASSIVE spending spree in the summer. So they are one to look out for in the next years.
City. In theory should be one of the strongest if not the strongest team among the top 4 but quite frankly I can't see them do any better in Europe. No matter the coach or players they bring in. FFP isn't helping them either so I'd rate them the weakest of all 4. RO 16 at best.
>>57468874 Which Mourinho team has gotten better in his 3rd year there? None. The best thing to do for him is step down by his own accord this summer or he'll get sacked before the winterbreak next season.
>>57468899 It's not like it's bayerns fault Robben wanted to play. It's just bad luck i don't see it as a new start of the glass man either. But yeah i was also looking forward the internationals with Robben, now i'm anxious about a match against the turks...
>>57468968 Genuinely think Manure will be at least at the quarter finals next season. They will only strengthen and their brand of football at the minute is ideal for Continental football. >moyes did well against Bayern for christ sake
Bayern needs a new winger. Robben and Ribery only have about 2 seasons left and both are incredibly prone to injuries. Who else are they aupposed to buy? There's not a whole lot of wingers on this level for sale.
>>57469059 yeah and that's why I don't get the fuss over hurr durr England a shit (well except for the usual trolling). Give or take a few years and the Buyern cycle is over and England will get a handful of finalists/winner again every couple seasons. The only league that can come close is La Liga because Real and Barca keep it in a constant headlock.
>>57469142 The fundamental problem, for CL at least, is congested fixtures. European teams get a decent break over winter when that's when a lot of English teams play most of their football.
English teams, this season aside, typically do well in the group stages then turn to absolute shit in the knockout stages.
>>57469155 EL doesn't give a good enough reward for English teams. Simply put Spurs or Liverpool would rather challenge for 4th than challenge for the EL.Downside of having so much money in the PL really.
No. When a person, like the Russian, buys a club like chelsea he should be allowed to do what is he feels is needed to to increase long term success of his club.
That means being able to invest whatever amount of money he feels is needed in the now to make sure his club can compete with older clubs like Man UTD, and Bayern in the long term. What the FFP does is limit the potential growth of other clubs just to protect a few established clubs that happened to be good when domestic leagues started to gain popularity. FFP hurts more than it helps.
>>57469166 on the contrary I think the money isn't that important for the clubs now. Once you are in the EL you should try to win now that it gives you a CL spot. I genuinely think it's easier for Tottenham to win the EL than to finish in the top 4. Liverpool is still lacking quite a few players to battle United/Arsenal for a constant top 4 spot too.
>>57469166 but winterbreak wasn't a problem when England was dominating the CL a couple years back. The problem right now is that City, Arsenal and Chelsea are limiting their potential by having shit managers. That's all there is to it.
>>57469202 >I think the money isn't that important for the clubs now.
BBC did a good article on it.
>>57469201 Too much TV money in the League Cup it seems. I'd rather they gave the JPT more coverage for the lower league cups but we can't have it our own way.
>>57469217 German and Spanish teams were no where near as good as they are now. English teams were simply sides back then. But you are right, managers are a big fault right now. Wenger and Mou though they could just show up.
>>57468992 I dunno, I'm kind of excited about De Vrij. Everyone says he's doing fantastic at Lazio, I'd like to see him in action. It'd be nice to actually have a young competent defender, someone in defense we can depend on for the coming years.
Reminder: Moments like last weekend's Gladbach victory over Bayern wouldn't be half as fun if Bayern weren't such a "superclub" (read: obnoxiously arrogant and smug cunts). At least there's something good coming from it.
>>57470321 >>57470331 and swapping Alonso for Kroos was another genius transfer move right Seppel? Not saying Martinez isn't a decent player, but considering the time he's been injured and the money you Bazischwuchteln paid for him, he's been a fucking horrible transfer, especially because you have no guarantee he will ever come good again, Thiago on the other hand was a steal.
>>57470377 >Alonso for Kroos was another genius transfer Kroos at Bayern = fucking boring cunt and his pointless sideway passes Kroos at Real = best midfielder in the world, sick passing skillz, better watch another dubstep youtube compilation of him
you're a fucking tool m8
>considering the time he's been injured and the money you Bazischwuchteln paid for him, he's been a fucking horrible transfer
He was massive contributor winning the treble, other top teams dream of doing transfers like that you fucking moron. Also he'll come back, Matthäus did, Lahm did, Robben did... all of them were supposed to be ded.
>>57470377 30 million for le slow sideways passing man was a great deal alonso was supposed to be a cheap, reliable substitute until bayern's injury ridden squad is back on track, it worked out fine at first but then he went full retard for some reason.
>>57470879 there's this thing called transfer window, in which you are allowed to buy players for all positions, including the defensive midfield position. sadly, perez seems to have missed that fact last summer.
I genuinely believe Bayern would make every other league look lame as fuck too, if they played there, and I don't even like them. They are just too stacked right now and have only like 3-4 fluke games where they lose or draw per season. Injuries, even of their biggest players, don't handicap them as much as any other club would be.
>>57468936 >I remember for his birthday I bought him a Wolfsburg away shirt. He did not thank me, he thanked his Volkswagen car and spent the day inside it eating cake with the VFL Wolfsburg logo in his new shirt.
