GB GT at Oulton Park and BTCC at Brands Hatch, post anything else in the thread
Also BTCC is on Saturday/Sunday @ Brands Hatch for season start.
Timetable here: http://www.btcc.net/calendar/brands-hatch-indy/
>We have gone a different direction on the KERS – which has meant we're learning, and our learning curve is also steep, and that's normal
>We're disappointed about Silverstone, of course, but we'll do lots of stuff for the fans," Cox noted. "We'll make sure that the drivers are more accessible than they would be. We're doing things like fan forums
We won't do shit on the track but at least we have something for the fans
>By skipping the first two rounds, we've got a set testing and development plan now designed to have our cars better prepared for the big race
It will be a surprise if that thing lasts more than 2 hours
>On a car that relies almost entirely on the hybrid system's power because of muh FWD
>no more grid girls in wec
stay sjw fia
This is actually the most interesting track I saw for FormulaE so far.
>otherwise racing today at Long Beach.
>mfw I was literally about to shitpost about Pacific
At least GSR made it to round two, and the Evora did a good job for its first Super GT outing even though it didn't make it.
Zent RC-F just went around Okayama faster than a P1 Lola.
It's a really weird place for a race. It's a park/former airport. I think they could've made it a much better layout utilizing more of the airport.
Hopefully soon, though it makes me wonder if they BoP'd the car since it's MR. Though Honda has just been in the gutter across the board in terms of racing, so that'd more then likely extend to SGT . At least this sexy beast made it into 7th.
They run heavy because it's a hybrid, but because they're mid-engined running a front engine spec chassis the cooling is all retarded and they can't use the tires for shit. Plus the engine sucks ass. (they got absolutely dunked on by Toyota in Super Formula last year running the same engines with a common chassis)
Why would that prevent him being a meme?
> tfw i have a ten letter last name that ends in nen
First crash of the BTCC season:
Well, that took no time at all. Seems like Volkswagen CCs and BMWs are the cars to beat this year, but really everyone is so close; only one second cover the top 17.
Also free Practice results are in: http://www.tsl-timing.com/event/151403/session/fp2trg
>Top 6 are German manufacturers.
>Ford way down in 18/19th
>shit man what are you doing?
BTCC Qualifying stream here: http://www.itv.com/sim5/
>Aron Smith from nowhere to 3rd.
First time I've ever watched BTCC. Had only heard of Matt Neal. Look up Plato and it is the fifth gear guy. I know I am slow as fuck in learning this but I'm still excitied I have someone I can immediately root for.
If your last name doesn't end in "man" then you are a girl.
You usually watch the WTCC? Yea Andy used to be in the BTCC in 2001/2002 but then moved on. I hope you're enjoying the racing, as it can be quite close and fun.
Don't worry about not knowing any of the drivers to a great level. Plato and Neal don't get along and that Jeff Smith crashes a lot. Thats about it really.
>yfw the Marrakech Street Circuit
Why are third world countries allowed to have race tracks?
So, apparently FE is now moved here and it's going to be even deader than usual, but all right I guess.
same except i have access to fox in the living room about 10 feet away but i still cant be arsed to get up and go there, mainly cause my landlord doesn't allow me to smoke weed in the living room, only my bedroom, fucking fascist.
>France with no streaming access.
Someone is going to lose his job
I see four onboards, is there a general race coverage stream (see flag)
So even though Honda is complete fucking garbage in GT500, the entire field is covered by 2s and if you remove Nakajima's garbage team running garbage tires only 1.5s. It might even be tighter than that if the teams that missed Q2 had more speed left.
They just run normal size wheels instead of dinky single seater sizes from the 1960s
>To aid with sustainability and cost-saving, the Michelin tyres will also be extremely durable and able to last throughout an entire race event. As such, each driver will be supplied with just one set of tyres.
That's a load of bullshit, racing shouldn't be about "sustainability", it should be about fast cars making loud sounds. It's like asking hunters to not kill the animals.
That smoke, man.
Hobby hunting should just be outlawed at this point.
Racing should be about bleeding edge technology if you ask me. But obviously everyone finds their own fun in it.
>Hello Kitty McLaren last
IT KEEPS HAPPENING
They would have to negotiate the tv rights contracts with the broadcasters who would demand it to be cheaper as they would no longer have exclusive rights to highlights.
It is why the premier league doesn't do it.
Red flag! Are you kidding me?!
Russia how can you not know of Super GT?
How is this Red Flag worthy? Is it just precaution to prevent a potential Bianchi 2.0?
Also seeing the drivers just hang out and watch the quali together is kinda comfy tbh. Also has the implication that this whole seriies seems like something they do for fun compared to e.g. F1
2015 will be Gainer's year dammit.
Thank you, might check it out. Looks like whatever racing series that was in Gyrozetter. Too many unknown Japanese drivers there though, I'll probably just get confused...
Aaaaah that makes sense. Website said "local time zone" and I thought that meant local to my computer browsing the site, but they meant local to where the race is.
When it comes to Super GT you sort of have to allow /a/
Too obscure for me. I'm pretty /a/ but it's hard getting into a closed-wheel racing series when you only ever watched open-wheel and a couple of ridiculously boring V8 races (we never really had anything other than F1 airing here on major channels) and know literally nobody on the grid. And don't know that much Japanese, only enough to play some light moege.
Krumm dicked off to be the slowest driver in the Nissan Slowmobile at Le Mans and there's no factory Audi drivers this year though.
Super GT didn't do that stupid. Plus that race had English commentary.
Well thank god we have some ridiculously determined Jap who is willing to translate for our idiot brains
Wait they have english commentary?
Nissan's RLM PR machine is trying to cover it lately.
They did Suzuka terribly last year and Motegi somewhat better and are doing Okayama today. Don't think they're confirmed for the season yet.
The Long Beach program guide is half in English half en espanol.
So the hell was that investigation on Buemi and d'Ambrosio for? Because the reason was never explain (I would guess it was setting a fast lap while the yellows were wawed for the Liuzzi shenanigans but that would be pretty unsignificant).
of course they're "slow" it's relatively new tech and Formula E has already stated they're letting teams do more and use more power in future seasons, you can't expect them to immediately have F1 type power
Prediction for Heidfeld:
Immeditate drive through penalty. Rubs balloons on his beard before the race but overdoes it and goes above the power limit.
The food is shit, the cars give you hearing damage, and it carries the redneck stigma, but dirt track racing is pretty cool
>go to http://fiaformulae.com/en/live-streaming.aspx
>right click, view page source
>scroll down till you see the list of countries
>below that there should be a <iframe id="myFrame"> thing and a few similar links
>click the link you want (it should open the source for that page, but if it opens the actual page just right click and view source
>there should be a link at the bottom of that ending in .m3u8
>copy into vlc, enjoy
For two years legally, probably for good after that. Although he's a solid racer so maybe he'll find a place. I'm pretty sure all sportsmen use drugs/doping anyway, just hide it better.
Is Piquet Jr actually based?
Did his F1 career get kill by Fernando "le preferential treatment driver" Alonso?
I would never want to race with a legendary last name. How shitty would it be if you were an above average driver but you had a GOAT last name like Senna, Piquet, Prost etc?
FE wasn't based for most of the Beijing GP but since the last lap of that it has been constantly based.
And even that was mostly due to the Chinese track having the most retarded layout possible.
>no runoff area and 1 simple mistake means your car is destroyed in a concrete barrier
>no overtaking opportunities
>needing to get in a fucking new car instead of a pit stop
>half of the video feed is just silence with a commentator
>commercials during the race
this race is fucking aids
Yea true, Nico Prost seems completely shit though. Piquet Jr lost his job anyway, I am still amazed he did that.
The cars are all the same right? How are performance differences determined in this series?
This year it's car settings and maintenance pretty much. Next year power trains, the year after that batteries and what's next we shall see.
He's not a reject yet, I don't think he can be one now that he's in Red Bull.
The rejects here are da Costa, Vergne, Liuzzi, Alguersuari, Speed, Buemi, I could be missing some but 6 out of 20 is already a lot I'd say.
This series is so slow m8s
If you play any F1 game, the pace of everything is so fast and IRL is like lightning reactions. Imagine that pace but stuck on 4th gear. This series needs 3-4 more gears of equal power tbh
Nico Prost a shadow of his dad tho
To be fair anyone would
Mathias Lauda and Freddie Hunts need to get Formula E seats
>Piquet, Senna, Prost, Hunt, Lauda
playing the rfactor mod is actually kinda fun as it is slow enough that you can think about your moves.
Because of the whole "women in racing lol" situation. At this point a girl-only racing series doesn't sound too outlandish even though personally I'd prefer them racing in normal series. It is indeed, unfortunately, true that they don't see much success, at least in European-based racing series.
Oh, apologies, I missed this while I was typing another reply.
lmao didnt event take the brazilian flag
listening to his close to flawless american accent, i am pretty sure he fucking hates his heritage.
buonus points for getting beaten the shit out of by nelson sr.
Well, see you guys in a month in the cut down version of Monaco. I still wish they used the full track, it's pretty short by other series standards, but I guess it's still too much for these gaming laptop tier batteries.
It's the hill up to Casino that is the big problem for the Formula E cars.
They were thinking of having it even smaller than this. Cutting out the bit going to the nouvelle chicane.
Vipleague for the audio, Nismo's channel on youtube will be streaming in hd with radio le mongs
J Sports, it'll be in 日本語 and the commentators are part of the reason people watch the series. They get very animated and excited with all the racing and passes happening.
I don't have an incredibly efficient setup. I keep the stream window in a window in the same place and use Shadowplay to record. Then seek with a video player noting the times and use webm for retards to do the cropping of the recording. I use advanced settings with 2 pass encoding.
Do Japanese race teams get points for fitting more logos in their drivers overalls than other teams?
>praying to Honokami to yell at the clouds
It's dead Jim.
Maybe the tools are slipping because everything's wet and they're rushing to get the cars out. I normally don't see this many loose wheels.
A lot of race car wipers park at the middle of the screen as opposed to the bottom like with road cars.
It is now I suppose.
Great race one. Tight racing as expected.
Can't wait to see how the second grid will change things up.
Is there any series that actually uses the full layout at brands hatch?
Why doesn't it get used more? It's so good.
Is the hood even locked in place, or is it just hinged at the front?
Seems to fly off as soon as they spin.
Second race of the Hue Brazilian Stock Car series at the Ribeirao Preto Street Circuit where race cars go to die
Barrichello is racing, he's starting second. Most cars are on wet tyres on a dry track cuz hue logic
The rules say that you have to stick to the same tyre you finished the race, unless in the case of changing weather conditions.
After the race finished, some 5 or so leading cars promptly changed from Wets to Slicks as the track is dry/drying. The rules aren't clear on whether this is allowed. Most didn't change tyres, one guy pitted with 1 minute to go, prompting some confusion from the commentators, one guy seemingly got DQd on purpose, so he technically didn't finish the race and now can start on slicks.
The rule clarification comes out and the weather conditions changed mid race, thus invalidating the possibility of changing tyres for the cars who finished the race. About 5 leading cars or so just got DQd from race 1, including an entire team.
And they forgot to wave the checkered flag for the Winner/2nd place.
This is Brasil!
All those DQs didn't make any sense. By doing that they assume that the cars are all under parc fermé between race 1 and race 2, which means that there isn't a pre-grid for race 2
>Changing conditions mid-race
Literally made up on the fly. I'm almost sure that such a thing doesn't exist in the FIA rulebook, and Stock Car, in theory, follows it. And due to Ricardinho getting DQ'd Caca was the biggest beneficiary of that, which doesn't look suspicious at all
