Mets fans still salty
On a somewhat related note, your favorite pitching prospect will almost certainly bust
Reminder that the Jokeland A's traded away two of the top 10 players in baseball and got nothing in return
>A's fans will still defend their meme GM
So wait, does this kid who made his MLB debut in the world series get a world series ring too?
I mean that'd be pretty hilarious.
>anyone who isn't a Royo's fan is a >MEST fan
Fuck the >MEST
Royals are ok in my book, pretty shitty fanbase though
> "In the 2015 World Series, Jeurys Familia faced 18 batters, walked 0, and gave up only 3 hits. All 3 of those hits led to a blown save. Familia is first pitcher in MLB history to blow 3 saves in a single World Series."
Has a pitcher ever been c u c k e d harder than this? My god that's just brutal.
How much puss do you think he got after the royals won by being a world series champion in less than a month into his career and playing in the world series for the first AB in his majors.
We don't need your support. You filled up our stadium with nothing but yankees fans and plucked players from our team like they were your AAA.
I hope your team plane crashes at the start of next year and everyone dies.
Guys, let's get down to the real facts, figures, and some actual adult baseball talk. What do you think about the 1980 Cardinals?
Also, by the way, I would just like to make this very deep and insightful baseball comment for pure statisticians only--
I have just the biggest feeling that you're NoHS false-flagging without your trip and are so completely ass-devistated over the Royals winning the WS and BTFOing your shit opinions lmao
Haha tardinal fans are so fucking butt mad
I've been walking around st louis today starring down anyone with a cardinals hat. They are beta and look down at their feet I'd you stare long enough
Just like their team, punchless and gutless
I'd love to see Moose shove his boot down molinas throat
>the kansas city royals have won a world series in our lifetime
So guys, I was talking to this royals fan in KC the other day(I had to go there for a work related incident, I'm a Cardinals fan btw) so I check out a local sports bar and start talking to the local royals fans who were like 18 and 20. I asked them how they felt about the world series and they could only spout out "MOOSEEEE" and "WIZARD OF HOZZ" "Escy and Perez are so pro and likeable" so being the cardinals fan I was I decided to embarrass them and I brought up the 1926 world series. Asking how they felt about Babe Ruth trying to steal 2nd and ending the world series as well as their opinions on Les Bell's home run in game 6. They stood there with their mouths open dribbling some stuff about KC Clutch and how it was so cool Escobar got an inpark homerun to start the series off. What a bunch of hooligans who don't know anything about baseball. I ended up leaving the bar while they went on about Yost being the greatest manager in baseball.
I watched the royals for countless years be a joke of the league. Constant basement dwelling in the AL Central and pretty much being an entire embarassment. I felt imense sorrow for the fans in KC who had to put up with all this for so long. But then they shored up that farm system and sure enough turned it around. Ended a 29 year postseason drought last year and ended a 30 year world series drought this year in such dramatic fashion too.
There is nothing to be bitter about with the Royals finally winning. Couldn't have happened to a better team. Congratulations Royals. You all deserve it.
I think it's good that Kansas City finally gets some happiness. The royals were trash tier evey year and the chefs sure weren't doing shit. You knew eventually one team would break out. I actually pegged it as the Chiefs though.
I feel for the fans who waited 30 years for this to finally happen.
Too bad /sp/ is full of shitlords who need to check their good team privelege because they've never experienced waiting 30 years for a win so they're mad because they don't understand it.
>/sp/ constantly calls royals irrelevant, forgettable, flyover
>jizzes itself anytime kc loses and makes 15 threads about it
You can't have it both ways, and while >we are definitely the worls champs this year it's kind of sad how much you guys obsess over an successful team that you yourselves say is "flyover."
I think you're all just mad the media loves us despite being in bumfuck nowhere.
That's the good team privelege in play.
/sp/ is full of shitlords who oppress the lesser teams but the moment they turn it around and win, suddenly they don't know how to handle themselves.
>suffer for 30 years of irrelevance
>/sp/ gets mad
If this is the stupid attitude that you stupid fucks take when a long suffering team finally wins, then I hope you enjoy your karma as that team rains down 30 years of frustration into every single thread every single day for the next 30 years.
Next time you see a royals "shitposter" just remember, you deserve it.
Are you kidding? Cueto is as gone as gone gets. Gordo and Zobrist too, probably. And forget about going after top tier guys like Price and Greinke. DM the GM is much more likely to pick up another Volquez/Vargas type mid level starter, and a solid defense/OK offense outfielder, then try another Rios/Kendrys Morales "comeback" type of player for the other outfield spot.
The Royals don't have dump trucks full of cash to throw at top level guys. Never have, probably never will.
Asking whether a team is going to resign its own players, and maybe go after a big time starting pitcher is bait?
What's more dumb, people who post stale bait, people like this who reply unironically to it, or dumbass shitposters like you?
you are pretty oblivious senpai. you replied to a false flag poster trying very hard to make royals fans look like dumb bandwagoners because he is asspained, because only a dumb bandwagoner would think there is a possibility of signing all of those players
If your team has been shit and complete joke for most of your life that you spent watching and they finally win after a long time of suffering and pain, then you are entitled to shitpost as much as possible. This is a fact.
Check your good team privelege you other shitlords.
Didn't mean to quote you sorry.
Nice bait you got there senpai.
I mean the irony of Royals fans are touting their 30 years of waiting and suffering against a team who has 29 years of the exact same and now it is 30 years and counting because who knows the future.
well most of the antagonistic posting from royals fans is against the 28 other teams calling them bandwagoners and what not. I doubt they are directing malice towards the mets considering they understand what they are going through
well of course, while the mets were still in it and immediately after the WS ended, there was tons of shitposting towards mets fans. after the dust has settled though, I don't think there is many hard feelings left towards the mets
As a warrior fan I've been through it. We've sucked for 40 years and finally got good. Now that we've won a ship everyone is still going on about "muh meme team". /sp/ are a bunch of salty fags when a new team wins a championship.
Osuna is not a starter for the long term
/sp/ was behind the Royals last year before they got BTFO by Bumgarner. They had their fucking chance to be the beloved champions and they blew it.
Oh well. Next year will be another Giants year and everyone can whine about how they're not really a dynasty and all of their championships are just flukes. Same old shit.
>Thank you based Royals for saving and showing the future of MLB.
Kek. Is Dusty the best manager around? There are way better managers who are looking for a job right now. Ffs, hire Barry Larkin instead.
I'm so glad our GM fired Dusty after he dared him to.
Cheapskate. If the Nationals wanted to win a World Series, front office needed to hire a good manager. Theo Epstein did that with the Cubs and poached Joe Madden from the Rays. The following year, Cubs make it to the ALCS exceeding expectations. Nationals will not win a World Series with Dusty at the helm.
At the Reds can hire Barry Larkin as manager once the front office realizes that our current one is awful when they get their heads out of their butthole.
Who knows Terry Collins could hop on a transcon to LA today to interview about the Dodgers position.
I would not go back to the Mets after keeping Matt Harvey in for the 9th. It seems a number of Mets players are going to test the free agent market especially Daniel Murphy.
>152 days until another 6 months of suffering
Going to opening day against the Who Sox, should be painful for both teams.
>"No, Dusty Baker Won't Ruin The Nationals Pitching Staff" by Neil Greenberg
Murph is gone (might tender him to get that draft pick)
Cespedes is gone
Colon is gone
Mets gonna clean house in the bullpen
Niese will end up in the bullpen next year or traded
Gee will probably be packaged somehow (maybe goto texas)
Flores is better at 2B but mets need much improved mid fielders to catch all those ground balls starting rotation produces. I hope they trade him and get something good.
Honestly would trade d'Arnaud to an AL team so he can go between catching and DH. Offensively, he is a solid hitter with good pop. He handles the pitching staff well and hits really well for a C, but his defense and throwing are disgusting. Plawecki is far less a power threat, but he is much better defensively and handle the pitching staff well.
RF - Grandy
3B - Wright
LF - Conforto
C - d'Arnaud/Plawecki
1B - Duda
CF - Lagares/Nimmo
2B - Flores/Hererra/Reynolds (or traded player)

Niese (until wheeler gets back)
looking forward to it A's bro. Can't wait to accept a new season of suffering while we both watch our teams make fundamental errors everywhere on opening day.
makes me want to start drinking thinking about it
I'll leave this here
Last night was a punch in the fucking gut. Probably as much for me as anyone else. I’m sure it wasn’t a lot of fun for those who bought WS tickets at Citi Field. But I watched it from Lawrence, Kansas, in the middle of a pile of fucking Royals fans. All of them with hats that look like they’d been purchased about 13 months ago. Obnoxious mother fuckers. And I’m not the sort of opposing fan who makes a scene when his team is winning or losing in that sort of environment. But I had multiple Royals chode-cunts get in my face. Nearly punched one fat fuck in the mouth, but I didn’t think the girlfriend would like it very much.
I’m glad that tonight we’re looking at a start from mother fucking Matt Harvey, even if he’s looked like shit on occasion over the last month. I’m glad it’s the fucking guy who turned every 5th day into a goddamned event, even when this team sucked balls. I’m glad it’s the guy who used to put a perfect game in play every fucking time he took the fucking mound for a period of months. I’m glad it’s that guy again tonight, and I don’t give a shit for Edinson Volquez. I hope to hell the sadness of losing his father makes him lose again. Fuck him.
Post your hopeful lineups and pitching rotation for the 2016 season.

>makes me want to start drinking thinking about it
I have the shorks as a reason to right now, but at least I can remember what happened.
CF- Maybin to start the season but Mallex Smith replaces him in June/July after a hot start in AAA
Name a World Series match up danker than this
Pro tip: you can't
MLB been on his dick since he was a teenager. If he hasnt broken though by now, what you see is what you get. There is no more potential, he is a .290 hitter with 20hr power and fragile.
I haven't seen a tremendous amount of him. I saw a lot of the cards in the playoffs and in September. He seems like he has more to offer but again he's been in the league for what, 5 years now? It would make sense if this is basically what you get. A .260 to .290 hitter and around 20 HR a year.
How is he defensively? He seems like he would be pretty good because he's tall and lanky.
This is the younger brother of a Major League ballplayer. Can you guess who?
At 5 years you pretty much know what you will be. Very rare a player changes who they become 5 years in. Only players i can think of that transformed midway through their careers are Bautista, Dickey, and all the roids guys.
He is kind of like a poor mans Edmonds or Holliday.
Defensively, A+ range with a B+ arm. Makes the catches he is supposed to and tracks most balls really well. He will never be a liability in the outfield.
Good call. Jonathan Murphy. Taken in the 19th round in 2012 by the Twins. He was cut from their A team in August 2014.
I'd be curious to see other players' siblings.
Yeah but he been consistent starter in the league since he was 19. Its not like he came up at 23 or 24 and then started. Im not saying he is bad, because he is a solid player and would be great on any team, id even say he is a top 25 outfielder in the majors, but the scouts made him out to be the second coming of willie mays, which he is clearly not nor will will he ever be.
Guess who's younger HALF-brother this is.
It ran in the paper the other day and I couldn't believe the resemblance.
He can definitely get one of those contracts, something like 8yrs @ 15m+ or have one of these built in buy out clauses at year 5. Someone like the Cards or Twins would do something like this in a heartbeat.
Is Maeda getting posted?
Maybe he'll be more affordable with all the big name free agents pitchera out there and these jap pitchers being fragile as fuck.
1. LF Eaton
2. RF Dexter Fowler
3. SS Xander Bogaerts
4. 1B Abreu
5. DH Melky
6. 3B Juan Uribe
7. 2B Sanchez
8. C Flowers
9. CF Jackie Bradley Jr
SP (bye bye Sale, have fun in red socks)
>/sp/ gets mad
Stop rejecting our broship offers than dumbass
Yeah I agree 5 years is a large enough sample size to determine a players ability. Very rare for them explode like those names mentioned.
I could see a team like the Yankees or Dodgers giving him a 12x8 or 12x7 contract. Which isn't too bad considering he's only 26 and by the end of those deals hell be in his early to mid 30s.
Royals really know how to c u c k the fuck out of their opponents
He was an outfielder.
nope. see >>63299908. It's uncanny.
Being "affordable" is a reason that he might not try the market. He's not the uber prospect he once was anyway.
ayyy what up senpai, fuck that faggot, us KC senpai know what the real broship is
KC/NYY 2016 ALCS for real doe
NOW WATCH US DRIP
NOW WATCH US MAYMAY
He shouldn't make the opening day roster but will probably get called up pending Beltran's annual dl stint
>Orioles 2016 world series
Didn't you learn from last year?
Jays fan still here bruhs
EE and Bats confirmed back for 2016 watch the fuck out. Shapiro confirmed BTFO by AA's wizardry and won't fuck this teams shit up until at least 2017.
Also Dickey is back too I guess
its a gr8 meme f a m
stay c u c k e d
Good series royalsbruh, remember to share this pic, this triggers the Texan
the only thing punchable was your moms stomach when she was pregnant with you
Hopefully Canada gets infiltrated with ISIS scum after your WEEDLMAO idiot brings in hundreds of thousands
Please reminder that anyone saying "c u c k e d", or "#kissthering", or any variety of hashtagged nonsense is an angry false flagger with a profoundly blasted booty.
Keep that in mind when crafting you're poasts
>mfw detoilet hasn't won a ring since 1984
>this weak shitposting
They warned us this would happen, we just werent ready tbqh, should be a fun regular season meeting can't wait for the memes
I hope they enjoy staying in the cellar as we DRIP DRIP DRIP all over them
hopefully Norris has a career ending injury and has his cancer return
What do you say, /sp/?
I'm talking about the noun here, not the prepositional phrase. i.e. "He just had his first [AB]," not "Who is [batting] right now?"
I liked it better when #kissthering was plural
We can do that since we got back to back ones but we don't because Jays fans are the classiest lads in all sports tbqh
Those were somewhat locked options. I'm way more interested in who they pursue in FA. They need a solid number 1 or 2 starter. I honestly think sanchez and Osuna should stay where they are. Cecil Sanchez and Osuna is okay with me for the bullpen. If I was Shapiro I would try and get Zimmerman because a 4 to 5 year deal at 20 is pretty good. It's also worth noting that taking a chance on somarj wouldn't be all that bad either. His value has dropped with his latest struggles but he's still a solid rotation guy.
>Cabrera's only World Series ring will be with the Marlels.
>wanting to broship with the skanks
after they filled our stadium for years?
after they cukced our team plucking our players for years?
fuck you, you aren't a real fan
you aren't royal
go back to wearing your cardinals hat you inbred faggot
>just won the eries
>is still bootyblasted
>mfw Royalsfans are so insecure they can't stop shitposting for even one day after winning their meme ring because they know they won't even come close next year
that royals shitposter is actually NoHS false flagging without his trip
pic related he has been getting btfo so hard by kc since last year
we only have 30-35 million to work with taking into account everyones options being picked up and various arbitrations because rogers is a cheap cunt and keeping the payroll the same despite sitting on a 34 billion dollar empire
>mfw its actually nohs and bees false-flagging
Well you have no choice. Unless you trade someone with a lot of salary for young players I don't see how they have a choice. Rogers will make money if they spend it on this team. If they spent an additional 20 to 30 million on the salary they can make 4x that on ticket holders and TV ratings. 40 million is legit pocket change to rogers.
>mfw Royalsfags are SO insecure and SO worried their meme ring was a fluke they literally cannot stop shitposting and when confronted they scream "MUH FALSE FLAG" as if their fanbase wasn't full of inbred bandwagoner flyover meth addicts
He already makes multiple times more than the payroll from ad revenue aired during jays games, he owns the fucking channel that has the rights to air the games
i wish we had an owner that was actually a fan
I've been staring at this picture for 15 minutes.. Each face has its own brand of agony. Let's start with the kid.
11-12 years old. He is wincing. He is holding his hands to his goofy hat as if they will help his brain comprehend what it is seeing. He has never felt this crushed by a sporting event in his life. This is his 1 strike away moment. He looks like he is in physical pain, as if someone is stabbing him in the heart.
Moving to the right in the blue jacket. He is stunned. He is the only fan looking at another part of the field; only he isn't looking at the field. This is the 1000 yard stare that you get from someone who is utterly lost and unable to comprehend what is happening in the moment. He looks like he's on the first part of, "ARE you kidding me?"
Moving to the right with the guy in the tucked in t-shirt. Horror. He is watching the ball sail by d'Arnaud as if someone is throwing his baby out of a moving vehicle. The baby in this case is his world series dreams. He can see the life sail past him. He cannot look away from the trainwreck.
Next to the right. Disgust. His head hurts too much for him to even place his hands on it. He looks like he is saying "How?" As in, "HOW COULD YOU BE SO STUPID, DUDA?!"
But the next one is my favorite. Moving back one to the left and then up, is Meta-face. This man is looking directly into the camera lens. It's as if he knows we are looking at this photograph a day later; as if he knows it will become a bookmarked memory for time immemorial. His timing is perfect. His expression says to us, "Look upon me. Look at this moment as it lies before you. This is what it is like to be a Mets fan. Bask in my agony." left of him, another 1000 yard stare, his hands cover his mouth in disbelief.
A couple of people have already turned their heads as if they are walking away. These are the "Literally can't even"s, and they are done with baseball right now.
>reminder they needed to do it off an inconsistent washed up knuckleballer
Pic related, this kills the Royals offense
If what you said is true, why wouldn't they dump money into this team? It's the most opportune time considering their biggest weakness atm is the rotation. I would love to know how much money was generated by the 2nd half alone. I bet it was more than the past 2 years combined.
And Shapiro still picked up his 12m option, the absolute madman
>mfw the nationals unironically hire dusty baker
>mfw he ruins strasburg
>mfw he ruins scherzer
>mfw he ruins giolito within 3 months of being called up
>jays were lights out except for that one flukey fluke
>why wouldn't they dump money into this team?
what part of cheap uninterested owner do you not understand? He doesnt care at all, he doesnt go to any games, the team is like an accessory to them.
Insiders who got the jump on AA leaving have already said payroll will stay the same as 2015
Once again it takes the bro-tier Jays fans to bring the proper bantz in /mlb/ threads. The heroes we need.
An estimated 400,000 people are in downtown Kansas City's for the Royals WS parade
Rogers cares about making money, right? Well if you spend money on the team you'll make money. I'm not saying you're wrong I'm merely debating. Last season should make rogers realize that you can make some serious cash if your team is competitive. Rogers is a business and the ultimate goal is to make money.
jays would have had a better chance if dickey managed to not give up 4 runs in 1 and 1/3 innings and forced the team to go to the bullpen far too early
look what happend to the royals when cueto shit the bed early and he went even more innings than dickey
who gives a crap, you just got trips which i have checked in my checkbook
when i balance that checkbook you will be recorded among history's list of winners for all of humanity to remember
>mfw royals sign cueto
>mfw royals sign zobrist
>mfw royals sign grenke or price
>mfw royals sign cespedess
>mfw all free agents will want to come to KC
feels good to be #royal
Dude if the jays finish with 50 wins with a 100+ million dollar payroll, he would MAKE a profit, forget about ticket sales, the ad revenue from owning the fucking channel that broadcasts the games nets him far more. Hes heir to a 30 billion dollar communications monopoly, a baseball team is beyond chump change to him, he simply doesnt give a shit, why do you think he hired a GM who spent decades at a small market team with a miniscule payroll
>mlb lets the intern attempt a banner graphic
it's actually so bad i think maybe the secretary that's getting fucked by the higher-ups wanted to try imac image editing or some shit. JUST
>Mediocre. When Boston or any other relevant town wins there's 1000000+
Considering Kansas City has a metro population of 2.3 million and Boston a metro population of 4.5 million, KC's 500,000(20-25% of metro pop.) is very comparable to Boston's 1,000,000
of course thats why shapiro came, rogers hires a small market GM with experience with small payrolls and then the year after the team has its most successfull season in 2 decades he doesnt increase payroll at all, does that sound like an ambitious owner to you? I cant believe how everyone makes fun of the doyers giant payroll i would kill to have owners that cared that much, say what you want about their failures but payroll will never be an excuse for them
I agree being committed to a team relies on a healthy payroll. But the dodgers spend their money in the worst possible ways. There needs to be a balance between prospects and FA signings. Having a 300 million payroll and not even getting to the LCS is pretty awful. Those resources were wasted for the most part.
not this year. they still have 3 good arms and bryce harper as a building block. but i expect an even worse nats team, unless they make a spalsh in free agency. They lost little pieces here and there.
>mfw Cueto is actually 36 years old and used to milk goats before washing up on an American beach.
>mfw Zobrist bats .188 and is traded in June
>mfw Grenke or Price signs with the Royals and has an ERA of 9.97 by May
>mfw Céspedes signs with the Tigers and wins the Triple Crown
>mfw KC becomes a shanty town after the Chiefs leave for Los Angeles and the Cardinals win the next 5 WS
Lackey's gone and the money went to Garcia. Will STL keep based Heyward?
You mean the 2016-2020 Four-peat WS Champs Toronto Blue Jays right?
>Bringing up championships you weren't even alive for
Pick up Bud Black
Pay Grienke but don't give him a contract past 5 years
Be open to trading off Pederson/Puig
Find a decent bullpen arm
Find an actual third starter because Ryu isn't guaranteed to still be good
Figure out what the fuck is going on with second base. Maybe get Dee back?
Giants are going to be good but the Dodgers can keep ahead of them if their offseason moves aren't that retarded
Other than the Giants the NL postseason is probably going to be really similar to this year's
Strasburg ruined himself, he's already blown out his elbow multiple times and now his shoulder is getting to him
Do you think it really matters who the coach will be?
Same with Giolito
Dusty only accelerates the inevitable, Prior and Wood were going to blow out their arms regardless
>Insulting reading comprehension while simultaneously not comprehending the irony of the statement
daily reminder these memers almost got beat by the d0yers
Watching the world series ceremony
They are having to give a 3 year history lesson to their fans because nobody was around when they were bad. Nobody there knows who was on the team 3 years ago
Cusb will definitely break the curse next year. Cap this famm.
Jesus Christ I'm glad I left before that shit. There must be 1 million people there.
On my way back home I literally saw people leaving their cars on the highway to walk like 5 miles to the rally
Hey guys, is our bye week over yet? When does the World Series start?
Where were they before 2014?
It legit pissed me off that I suffered through the bad years and now these faggots celebrate without putting their blood and tears on the line.
The amount of royals "fans" I talk can't name 4 players who were on the 90s or 00s teams. I mentioned how happy I was that the Royals got rid of greinke and I just get blank stares. Of course I have to explain who he is after that.
They can't, bro. Little brother complex is pervasive in KC.
Can we please have some real, genuine talk about the actual facts, figures, and statistics of baseball? Can we please stop the memeing and have some really deep baseball discussion for once?
What do you guys think about Pete Rose?

This. I remember going to KC shortly after we won in '11 and EVERYONE was wearing STL hats. Shitty city Tbh, though the Power and Light district was alright.
This is a samefag, btw, if you check the filenames.
It also didn't happen.
Cardinals fans so insecure about themselves! You can lose the right way this year too guy, don't worry
I live in springfield
2 years ago it'd a cardinals city
Last year it's half and half
This year it's nothing but royals merchandise everywhere
Why is missouri such a horrible bandwagon state? The real question is why is it a state
I'd believe that. Springfield is where everyone is thinking about when they say "toothless meth addicts"
Kansas has all the real Royals fans anyway. We're the ones with the old Royals caps. Missouri I agree flip-flops like a buncha bitches
Terrible lying cheating human being but he's just too good a baseball player to not be in the hall. We shouldn't let our feelings get in the way of talent.
Look at it this way /mlb/, what if tomorrow it was discovered that Mariano Rivera raped several high school age girls while he was at his prime on the Yankees. Does that make him human scum of the earth? Yes. Does that invalidate him as one of baseballs greatest closers ever though? No.
Feelings should not get in the way of talent. Rose should be allowed back in baseball and into the HoF. He should probably not be allowed in society though, that crazy fucker.
Fair enough. I, Kansan, will never root for your shitty eternal bandwagon "lose the right way" haughty sissies. You're like the French, but also Missourians, it's the worst of both worlds or any other worlds anywhere
Anyone who has any merchandise from both the Royals and the Cards is a fucking faggot btw.
Go Royals also btw
The Royals were like one of the worst teams in all of baseball and perennial basement dwellers for a long time. How does no one know how bad they were? It's almost like not knowing the Cubs didn't win in 108 years despite being in Chicago?
What the fuck is wrong with KC?
Springfield is always predominately a cardinals city.
So if anyone is wearing Royals gear there they are just Cardinals fans jumping ship to the better team. Says more about Cards fans than Royals fans desu
>in 2010 we won this many games, this is what we were thinking. The media said this and we responded like this (silence)
>in 2013 we made a good effort, but moore wasn't satisfied. We went 10 games over 500 (silence)
>in 2014 we went to the world series (fans begin to go "oh yeah! Wooooo!)
I lost it
New estimates for downtown KC are at 800,000
That is almost half the population of the entire KC metro, and DOUBLE the entire population of the city of Kansas City.
In a hotel 2,000 miles from St. Louis. I'm happy to snap my Rams jerseys too for you. See, this is what being a real fan is all about, not just bandwagoning now because you're team hit a good streak.
Man, the salt in here is real.
Why is it so hard for "Bajillion rings" people to give it a rest? A freaking small market team just won their second ring after 30 fucking years. Not only that, they were fucking TERRIBLE FOR 2 STRAIGHT DECADES. Let them have their fun.
This is absolutely sad.
I still remember my own teams win totals from up to 5 years ago
2011: 77 (hazy though only because I chose to repress it because it was so bad)
2012: 86 (that fucking collapse, or was it 84)
2013: 63 (kill me)
2014: 73 (kill me again)
2015: 76 (why am I still doing this to myself)
Nah, I like my fanbase because they support a re through the good and bad times. They also know what the basic rules of baseball are and can hold a baseball discussion for more than just spouting meme names like MOOSE and LE HOUZ MAN xD
This triggered me.
I also imagined of the Mets won.
>so here in 2007, we experienced the worst collapse in MLB history
>silence, confused murmurs
Fucking kill all casual sports fans now. REEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE
>WE FINALLY DID IT CHICAGO WE WAITED HOW MANY YEARS FOR THIS? SAY IT WITH ME,
>like two or three people say 107 years while the rest murmur and cough confused as to what's going on
>the Royals have continuously ranked among the bottom five teams in attendance.
Kansas residents care about the Chiefs and KU basketball.
They feel no loyalty for a losing team
Literally Meme: The Team
White Sox and Bulls because MUH JEWISH OVERLORD JERRY REINSDORF. Chicago sports is keked to jews. Recently though, since the failures of 2011 onward, people have stopped falling for the jewery.
Sites being gay, here's the cap. Royals attendance.
I refuse to believe this. This might be the largest revelation ever uncovered in 4chan history. You are seriously, actually saying that a team that went from the most embarrassing sports franchise in North America in the second smallest MLB market for 28 years to a perennial contender and championship team virtually overnight... you are saying that the number of fans attending the games increased dramatically? That can't be right at all. I cant possibly believe your image and your implications, for it is too far fetched.
SUCK MY DIIIIIICK!
>bubububub KC is an irrelevant city
SUCK MY DIIIIIIIIIIIICK!
>bubububbubub your fans are the definition of bandwagon fans
SUCK MY DIIIIIIIICK!
SUCK MY DIIIIIIIICK
>bubububub small ball is worst ball
SUCK MY DIIIIIIIIIIIIIICK!
Guess what? the small market team in Jesusland made it to the World Series and won it, while your [insert your favorite team] did not. and all you could do about it is shitpost on anonymous image board.
SUCK. MY. HAIRY. DICK.
It's a tiny city, what do you expect? It's not like LA where they can sell out every game with an Insignificant portion of the population. Or do you not understand the logic behind that?
Just shows that we're the most passionate fanbase tbqh, just tired of losing. There's really no other argument to make.
The fact that other teams, in their winning seasons, don't increase their attendance by this much speaks volumes about everyone but Kansas City. Anyone who says otherwise is ignoring the facts.
This is obviously a bandwagon royals faggot. Any actual diehard wouldn't be this mad at that chart but instead be proud that even during such bleak times, they were one of the very few who still supported the team and went to games.
Pic related is my face when Eric Hosmer won a World Series ring and there is nothing on God's Earth anyone could do about it.
You are a cancer to your team. You support them with money when they are not winning to encourage them to continue being shit in the future. A true fan hopes for the best of his team at all times and watches games but doesn't surrender a dime to the retards in the front office ruining his favorite team.
There is literally nothing wrong with being fairweather with regards to merchandise and ticket sales.
>muh bandwagon fans!
Just a reminder: No matter how salty it makes you, those bandwagon fans are currently celebrating a World Series Championship. And you're not.
Calling a fanbase bandwagon is merely the only insult left in the book when a shit team finally wins a championship. Remember, if you are ever called bandwagon, you have officially become relevant.
They really haven't lately, since the foundation of the Royals the Cards have had 3, and 2 since 1982. The Royals hitting rock bottom between 95 and 2013 (other than the sick tease of 2003) really made the gap look huge, but if they can sustain winning seasons for the next 10 years it's hard to say they won't stay even. Very similar fanbases regardless of what Cardinals fans would desperately like you to believe.
>a bunch of bandwagoners think that because the Royals can win a baseball game once every 30 years, using players who would have literally never heard of KC if they weren't traded and forced to play there, somehow undoes the fact that they have to live in Missouri and most likely were born and will die there
LOVING EVERY LAUGH
Pic related here is my face when international ogre Michael Moustakas won an MLB Championship (World Series) ring and there is absolutely nothing anyone on this very planet could do to stop it.
It's also my face when I unironically and unashamedly bellow out "MOOOOOOOOOOOOOOSE". Not much you can do about that, either.
This. There is literally no way to win when you're a fan of a team. If they haven't won the most recent championship, people will do "huh, X year was a long time ago" but if your team has won a recent championship you get called a bandwagoner
If you are describing yourself than good for you. Its not easy to follow a perennial basement dweller. I'm sorry that a huge portion of your fanbase is bandwagoning faggots, it must be hard to deal with. I am a Mets fan and we had our fair share of bandwagoners this year but it didn't seem as bad as the Royals.
>it didn't seem as bad
It's the same situation ladd-o. Instead of taking off their Yankees caps to put on a Mets cap, they took off their Cardinals gear and threw on some Royals gear. Your particular band of wagon just isn't very good at posting tbvh
Right....because all of your teams players are local talents, right? Born and raised! Drafting, trading, international signings...nothing to do with it. Home grown, bitches!
There's idiots, fucking idiots, then there's that guy.
I am describing myself and I'm a white sox fan. Even in that year they lost 99 games, I still listened and followed almost every game and still went out to the park to suffer many others live.
Reminder that Citi Field was nearly empty before the last game of their season was over, despite being in the game until the very last inning.
Reminder that Wrigley Field was packed to the last minute despite being down 6-0 after the 2nd inning.
There are die hard fans, and then there are "die hard" fans.
Do you even know what a bandwagon is? You sound like you don't. A bandwagon hardly applies to disillusioned hometown fans in a small market. It applies to fans in big markets who literally do not give a shit unless their team is winning, KC always cared. It applies to assholes in Tulsa Oklahoma who think they're hot shit for rooting for the Yankees and people who tune into ESPN for their choice of team, neither of which have ever applied to the Royals. In your little fantasy world you have no fucking idea what the city went through for 20 plus years. I know you're jealous, but just shut the fuck up if you don't know what you're talking about.
And when you give me your bait reply, please add your team and the city you live in because I'm sure your amazing fanbase will surely change our minds
Nah dude its not like that in NY. Anyone from NY will tell you that people don't switch teams. Yankee fans actually pride themselves on not caring about the Mets. If the Mets won this year it would still be "nice ring lmao check THESE 27 RINGS 27 RINGS 27 RINGS". A lot of Yankee fans were probably pulling for the Mets this year but its not like they were calling themselves Mets fans. Because of muh rings Yankee fans feel like they have nothing to be jealous of so why would they bandwagon an inferior franchise?
I have no idea what the Royals/Cardinals dynamic is like but people from NY are seriously not like that with their baseball teams
Hey there and welcome to 4chan. Enjoy your stay, faggot!
literally look at the stadiums at the end of both games. it isn't even close. mets fans want to be known as tortured and die hard but that shit is as much of an ESPN fabricated story as royals fans being die hard is
The White Sox in recent years has seen a transformation from being division contenders usually behind the twins, to a joke of baseball usually landing in the basement of the AL Central and staying there.
Throughout this time, attendance has dropped dismally to dead last ranks where even other teams fans out number our own. TV and radio ratings are also dead last.
What this means for me is however that I can hold my head up tall that I am one of the elite few who still followed along most every game all these season, spent the time during the game either on gamethreads here or SSS and listened to the games on 670 or tuned into Hawk on wgn whenever I could. I could make the effort to go to the park even when I was one of like the 10 people in my section.
This current display of bandwagoning not only in KC but other places is just so disgusting to me that I feel I need to speak out.
>existing team relocates to Montrèal
>renames themselves the Expos
>they're treated as a continuation of the original Expos franchise
>their actual origins are largely disowned and ignored
>the Nationals are treated as if they began play in 2005 as the Washington Nationals
I hate these messes. It's a lot like the New Orleans Pelicans/New Orleans Hornets/Charlotte Bobcats/Charlotte Bobcats catastrophe with one team stealing another's heritage and erasing its own.
Can you not read or is this just Missouri education? The point is that the only acquisitions the Royals make are from trading for people who have no say in the process. No free agent will ever willingly want to sign for KC and the franchise doesn't have the money to outbid anyone because all their bandwagoning fans ignored the team for 30 years. Enjoy watching your homegrown core all depart in FA over the next 3 years
Lmao Royals fans are now literally bragging about bandwagoning. This is too good.
>b-b-but its different for us since its a small city because no one wants to live in this shithole! We are not bandwagoners just le disillusioned fans, we supported the team in spirit!
MY. FUCKING. SIDES.
Should be fun. I'll keep all these pics of me at the empty ballpark just for that occasion.
Also don't get me wrong, I'm not being hipster or masochistic here. I actually still love Baseball and I still love my team immensely. Even if they lose horribly, I still always have a good time at the cell.
Where did you get this from? I seriously hope you didn't take that screencap and then censor the guy's twitter handle. What the fuck has happened to 4chan? If you're trying to embarrass someone, don't also try to protect them by hiding their identifying information. You can't do both.
It looked pretty full on TV. But it was past midnight and cold anyway.
Except for guys like Volquez, who helped beat the Mets in two starts. And Rios, who helped us beat the BlueJays. And Morales, who helped us beat the Astros. And Chris Young, who also helped us beat the Mets.
It's not a bad thing to make smart free agent moves instead of throwing money at the hot offseason names. Besides, how many Mets free agents are bailing out this offseason?
