The world is bigger than you think...
After the explosion of the methane hydrate layer, the remaining members of mankind are forced to live in isolated domed cities scattered across the arid and inhospitable planet. They live in a controlled society and are assisted in daily life by autonomous robots called AutoReivs. In one of these cities, Romdo, Inspector Re-l Mayer, granddaughter of the regent, leads an investigation concerning AutoReivs that have gone mad after being infected by the Cogito virus. In the process, she comes in contact with a monster called Proxy. Elsewhere in the city, immigrant Vincent Law is on the run after being framed for involvement in several Cogito cases. Together, along with the adorable child-AutoReiv Pino, they set out on a journey to the dome city Mosk in order to unravel the mystery of the Proxies.
awesome series, very deep, gotta pay attention but worth the effort
AFTER I DOWNLOAD THIS. I'LL SEED THIS FOR SOME TIME.
STILL SEEDING THIS. I'VE FALLEN IN LOVE WITH RE-L. THOSE WHO DON'T QUITE UNDERSTAND THE STORY SHOULD READ SOME, BUT VERY LITTLE OF THE ANIME'S WIKI. DOING SO WILL CLEAR UP WHAT ISN'T COVERED COMPLETELY IN THE SHOW ITSELF.
SEEDING THIS! THANKS FOR THE LINK BTW
Wtf is up with your shit?
That's supposed to be pink.
You probably just mested up your colors because it looks fine to me.
Not shilling. I need a new set of eyes haha! I like the looks of both, I like the subs on the 2nd torrent much better than OP's. I went through the rest of the previous episodes with Pino wearing the costume and it looked like yours. My eyes have deceived me yet again.
Thanks, much appreciated.
Already watched it and its a great anime. A bit pretentious and the first few episodes and the later ones dont really match well but the end is still okay.
If you dont understand shit watch the game show episode again, it is a huge infodump which explains a lot if you know what to expect.
Also the background story that isnt really clear (spoilers inc. obviously)
>humanity mines a methanegas-like sustance from the ocean floor to replace oil
>shit explodes and ruins the atmosphere
>humanity makes a space ship to live in space waiting for the earth to recover but cant make it big enough for everyone
>to appease everyone who has to stay behind they make ergo proxies, nearly immortal superhumans that can sustain domecities
>because space humans dont want to be killed when they come back/are dicks and want the world for themselves (either explanation works) they make proxies fail
>first of all they are separated making them lonely
>if they leave the dome city will die
>they likely go insane (ophelia episode)
>they leave and kill the other proxy in their insanity
>the fatal pulse makes proxies go insane who didnt go insane already
>they die to sunlight
>this way humanity on earth is wiped out and the space humans can live in the dome cities
I'm giving it a try.
I like it a lot so far (I'm around ep. 15).
I enjoy those stories where not much is explained, and you have to embrace the universe, and find clues here and there in the story to piece together the history, how things work, etc..
If i'd have to say something against it, it's that sometimes they tried to add some kind of backstories with the characters, and often it's not working, it feels a bit out of place.
Also, the characters and the personalities of those characters are not very developed. They still feel a bit anonymous after watching 60% of the anime.
It kinda goes with these stories where not much is explained, but the story could have used some more detailed characters.
We're never sure of what this character is thinking, or why is he doing that. It sometimes feels like we are watching the events taking place from far far away, so it's sometimes hard to connect with them.
But maybe it's not a cons for everybody.
Overall I'd recommend it, but you really have to pay attention during the episodes to get those clues about what is going on.
I think you're missing the heavy philosophical underpinnings of the backstory; it goes deeper than the half baked science end of things.
>The bookstore: "I think, therefore you are"
>The constant theme when traveling to other domes: What is a world without people to behold it?
>The constant ask of what exactly makes a human, not only the "I think therefore you are" but can we consider Vincent a human? How about Pino? Re-l?
>Heck, all of the characters are somewhere on the continuum between robotic and human; where do we draw the line?
The surface plot is really just a vessel for the philosophical underpinnings, or at least that's how it felt to me.
I know there are philosophical underpinnings but if you dont understand the surface story you can separate surface story from philosophical commentary. And what I noticed is that many people get stuck there. I at first too, until I read that the gameshow episode is an infodump that explains the world.
Also I think a major theme is how power affects people. People that are incredibly powerful also suffer the most. They cant find understanding by going to other people in similar situation since then their country/dome dies out. They cant find understanding with their underlings (ophelia episode) and they cant create true happiness.
>not wanting to fund moot failed start up/dragon didlo review blog
reminder that dragon dildos are the source of our collective fap power
Have the whole series on DVD since 2007.
Watched it onb a marathon every time one of the DVDs would come out.
Last DVD marathon took me 12 hours.
It's probably one of the few anime I would ever love, since I really can't stand most Japanese media, but the ending was a disgusting disappointement for me.
Not saying that it should be for everyone else, but Japanese anime just do not know how to write a finale.
And RE-L is a fucking manipulating asshole and rich kid bitch, Vincent Law is the true love. And Pino. <3
Interesting ideas, very very sloppy execution
The robot loli is the only noteworthy thing about the show, they handled her development pretty well
I wouldn't say it's anything other than decent though, it feels pretentious at times and you really need to dig to get the philosophy shit and if you're that interested you may as well just read the books it draws it from
Yeah I still don't get that...This show has such a dark, somber tone throughout and then BAM! INFO DUMP.
I fucking love it except for that episode...They never explain where they are, why they are there, how they left...nothing...
why not watch neo genesis evangelion. It is known for its wellwritten and directed ending
>where they are
they are in one of the domes
>why they are here
like with the other domes it is a stop inbetween for resources or they got caught up in another way, maybe Re-al got caught and vincent ran in to bust her out
>how they left
like all other proxies this dome proxy had his own way of fighting, challenging people to a show quiz. When you won he would let you go and either self-destruct or keepg chugging along till the sun broke through and the space humans came back. Like the walt disney one. Also it keeps in like with the whole americana thing where this is another facet of the showbizz thing, like the walt disney dome was.
If you refer to windows media player as giving less privacy then youre retarded. He means you should get a decent player like MPC-HC. the /g/ wiki explains it in detail.
Whatever I'll just post it myself...
