Hey guys, I want to master a pnp oneshot thats also focused on tabletop, means measurements in inch and such.
Since it's my first time playing something tabletop-like I don't want to buy everything for one round.
So do you have any printable 2d terrain? I'm looking mostly for basic stuff like walls, rocks, and so on.
I'll dump what I've got, but it's mostly for mapbuilding in dundjinni and such.

Also the fire exits are located at the sides of the chamber and are clearly marked with signs.

That is all.

Guards, please escort this street hooligan out of this establishment.

The pc's explore an ancient temple. In this temple they find a statue of a deity, with a sign in front it. The sign says "Please, do not touch". One of the pc's, despite of the warning, touches the statue. What curse would this character get?

Just make the curse literally being infested with the spirit of Galadriel, subtle corruption and everything. Overnight they go from schmuck to bad ass sorceror with a serious bent streak, lusting for power but also to leave the earth and travel "West".

Ok, I've had a discussion about something earlier.

Who would have more "pleasant" life ahead of them. A normal citizen worker in a hive city or a cultist living on a daemon world ?

I mean, they both would have the grimmest of darkness pouring on top of them but in the end one would have it slightly less shitty.

So, who would that be ?

1. Get grueling workload until you die and a crappy existence for the short periods of rest.

2. Get to dodge evisceration by bored daemons on daily bases with the off chance you'd find somewhere to sleep or something to eat.

A normal citizen life is less shitty as there are less random variables. Boring, absolutely.

Cultists never know when they shall become daemonfodder or sacrificial lambs. Humans desire certainty, and Chaos is anything but.
>>
Well, if both are bad I'd go with the option for higher reward and this is a daemon world. In the Hive you are set for life on the position you are born it no, unless you go to the underhive and even a daemon world have more structure than this. On the other hand you could, in theory get elevated to daemon hood.

Better for what?
>>
>>50064076
Depends on how strict the settings "Magic A is Magic A" is.
Former is more versatile, latter is probably more useful.
>>
>>50064076
The first allows you to tailor your spells to a number of situations.

The second allows you to explore the potential of that specialization and possibly be able to apply it to the same situations in a fashion you prefer.

Versitility helps keep you open-minded, but specialization lets you run roughshod over an obstacle with sheer focus and knowledge of your craft, but risks tunnel vision.

Pick the one you like.

Im relatively new GM and I'm trying to work on my skills, and I've noticed my NPC's don't do much but dispense quests and sometime need to be persuaded with a roll. and i don't know much to have the players that doesn't involve killing in some way.

Non-combat quests are pretty easy to run. It's really no different to building combat. There's a problem, the players come up with a solution, the players execute the solution, you resolve the world and say what happens next.

If you're just looking for a few example quests, then feel free to take any of these:
>Steal something from a mansion
>Reach a negotiation with a merchant to giving up his shop to a rival merchant

RP the NPCs. Give them voices. Once you find yourself doing the voice for them, they have a personality, and the players' interaction with that personality will generate shenanigans. My groups aren't even really RP heavy and people still like getting in arguments with asshole government officials or trying to wheedle information out of drunk wizards or explaining to the fire elemental why he should really back the fuck up because his presence is literally killing the players.

A little RP goes a long...

Im trying to come up with a clever way to introduce a new to pathfinder party to the importance of the will save, without just murdering them with clerics.

they are new to pathfinder and one of the party of 6 is a "min-maxer". quotes because hes playing a str monk and has reddited his character to the point that i can google his build (first time player so i forgive it) current party lvl is 4 to be 5 so will saves are low but i feel they need a warning

current idea is to have them fight some witch coven that has a town enthralled.

Use mind affecting stuff, like confusion and fascinate.

Or if you have some liars in the group use zones of truth.

Make them punch each other because of their mental ineptitude.

If you want to be truly evil, give them an arc of will intensive situations so they tech against it, then never use will saves again!!!

>>50063022
Have some sadistic sorcerer mind rape them into bringing each other down to 1(ish) HP and then leave, rinse and repeat until they realize that they need Will saves. If they don't realize, kill one of them

Draw a relationship map. Have different characters that want different things and have preexisting relationships, who works for who, who is loyal who plots betrayal. Make some dotpoints about info they know and how they will react to being approached by the PCs.

You can do it for organisations as well, not just individuals. Then when you need to come up with some more depth to a throwaway NPC that the PCs are suddenly interested in have them be a member of an organisation and hey presto, they have an agenda.

The 7 realms provide some limits, but I think there is still room for creativity, especially with the scale. Anyone got any good ideas for scenery? If you saw the previous ad, I'm revising the game terms a bit. Biggest change is that I'm not going to require players to co-GM. It's certainly welcome, but I'm fine with doing the GMing by myself.

Anyway, basic summary of the game: Eclipse Phase is a fairly hard transhuman space/sci-fi game which has strong horror elements. It's set in the wake of an apocalyptic event which rendered Earth uninhabitable, or at least, quarantined, and players are drawn from the extremely ranks of transhumanity to 「SOLVE PROBLEMS」.

My campaign specifically follows the players on a journey of human relationships and conspiracy, the central theme is the Chinese concept of "guanxi", which is kind of like a system or market of relationships, obligations, and favors. The chief kind of gameplay that will happen in this campaign revolves around investigation, though combat is certainly going to happen. Life is really cheap in EP, though, and character death is really common, especially if you have a bioconservative outlook on life and death.

Adult themes abound, including a heavy focus on crime. Sex is as much a part of this as you want it to be. Contact me with the Discord, if you don't want to do that but you're still interested, reply to this post and I'll set up a more private conversation.

I ran an Only War one-shot the other night. It was fun, Catachans squad sent on a Search & Rescue, ended up killing everyone with flamers and knives. Including the hostages.

Designing a dungeoncrawl for my brothers Only War game, The players will be a small platoon of expendables sent to recover the son of a planetary noble who was the officer in charge of a recon/survey team sent into the abandoned underdecks of an Imperial battlecrusier to report on its suitability for refurbishment and use. The lower aft decks were sealed off a century ago, but the actual record of why is lost due to ship log corruption.

Im looking for ideas for enviromental hazards, traps, and anything cool you might find down there. Any thoughts /tg/?

Tyranids. Tyranids everywhere.

Where do you want it on the Alien-Aliens axis?
Like do you want more shooty action or scream-y horror?

A healthy mix of "The ship is trying to kill us" with "But those mutants might get us first"

I was thinking a lost raiding party of orks from 2 centuries prior who got trapped/lost in a section and never found would be the main antagonists

145 KB,
How do I get the motivation to start running campaigns again? I'm damn sure there are many other people asking themselves this question.

>Start DMing 3.5 in freshmen year of high school
>Would've been nice to play first instead of DMing immediately but no one in my group of friends was willing to DM
>DM for two years and quit, never got to play during that time
>Finally get to play for a few months during senior year and the following summer

If it's anything like me, you don't recover from it and swear to never DM again.

>Still played in GM 3 and GM 6's campaigns a few times because I'm so starved for RPG
This implies you only went to DM 1, 2, 4 and 5 for one session? If this is correct, maybe you should give your DMs some more time. Maybe even give some subtle tips if they're not good.

As for running campaigns, I get more excited the more I work on it, so just push yourself to start, maybe you'll enjoy it once you get going. Sounds like you need to not give up so fast....

Never played in GM 1's game. As I said, I have absolutely no interest in playing a Pokemon tabletop RPG. Played in GM 2's game twice, GM 4's game twice, and GM 5's game once. GM 5's game was a fucking dumpster fire of a session, dude. I directly stated my problems with each campaign to the GM that ran it, aside from GMs 1 and 5. 1 because there was nothing wrong with his game, I just didn't want to play in it, and 5 because she is legitimately too stupid to ever improve. And I was generally aware of the events of these peoples' campaigns after I quit them. We all hung out in the same lounge area of the student union and the players that remained in those games told me about what was happening.

I've tried pushing myself to write, but I always just say "fuck it" because the task is too large and the payoff too small.

283 KB,
Let's collectively right a quick one-shot session.

What is the setting, NPC's, obstacles, etc? Don't worry about what system it is in, we'll keep it vague to focus purely on ideas rather than mechanics. Once we build a semi decent one-shot, we'll turn on our own creation and think of the most "Player Character" choices possible and see where it takes us.

TL;DR: Write a fake session, then fake play the fake session.

>Setting
Desert theme. Think American frontier near Mexico, not a desolate death desert.

Okay, real world setting or something fictional?
