The poor bastards. Eaten by Tyranids as easily as one would erase a stick figure. And everyone can still see the grey splotch on the paper they left behind.
So recently, I've been trying my hand at a Squat redesign. Something I'd personally like to see brought back into the 40k setting. But obviously, not every player would paint or style their army the same way. Your Dudes, and all that. My Dudes, for example, carry a western theme. Squats cast out of the Galactic Core by the greenskin and the nid – countless dead in the wake of xenos invasion and rampant... Comment too long. Click here to view the full text.

I honestly should summarize more in the starts of threads so I’m going to start doing that so people don’t have to read through the oh god amount of text in the back before participating if they want to.

There was, naturally, the trouble of famine, but as an acquaintance of the Kaiser you heard more of this ambition than of the reason most people supported wars against the rest of the continent. The famine had only been going for a few years, however, the rest of the world cruelly refusing to assist in fear of strengthening the Reich. The Kaiser’s ambitions had germinated in his heart when he was a boy, barely educated about the flow of history and the death of nations.

In the meantime, a set of Delschean self-propelled guns had showed up to duel with your heavy tank platoon. As they were running low on ammunition, you gave the order for them to retreat. A flight of bombers was almost back, and a quick request was railroaded through the normal red tape in light of your mission. Aerial reconnaissance had produced decent maps of the area; all you had to do was request the absolute devastation of a single grid square and you no longer had to concern yourself with anything there.

You press onwards, the booms of aerial assault washing over you and echoing back from the distance. The disorganization of the Delschean defense becomes increasingly clear with every kilometer you cover. Past conflicts and misfortunes have educated you on the common positioning of pickets, and you spot none. Either the paratroopers were giving the defenders a much harder time than High Command knew, or they had counted on the counterattack you had managed to completely avoid to seal the hole in their lines. They had indeed plugged the gap when you were last there, but not soon... Comment too long. Click here to view the full text.
Many times, when it comes to legendary weapons, the only thing you have to worry about is the dude swinging the weapon himself. But what about those weapons that go way beyond that and actually impact the world around them? Soul Edge here, for example, released the Evil Seed in the late 16th century, creating what are known as the Malfested: infected beings suffering from physical and mental corruption, becoming what amounts to monsters. And that's before you even get into its primary "feed on all souls" gimmick it compels its users to follow.

You want to basically treat the weapon as its own inanimate character. Sure people pick it up and use it, but it's what they end up doing with it. The weapon may as well be treated as alive for all intents and purposes, it has an agenda or a calling and it inevitably compels its bearer to fight in conflicts that the weapon wants. A Saints Mace will always find its way into the hand of a Paladin or a Crusading Hero and it'll appear in the biggest battles against the blackest of Evils. A Dagger of Evil will be drenched in the blood of kings, bishops and generals. It's... Comment too long. Click here to view the full text.

For a while now, I've been working on a small Mecha game inspired by Front Mission / Ace Combats Strange Real world and the work of Makoto Koyabashi.
To summerise, its set in an alternate worlds 1980s where a cold war went hot and no one won, biological weapons have thrown the worlds ecological balance into overdrive, creating the Ecozone.
This never ending ecological nightmare in the east proves to be impenetrable and unnavigable, its spores spreading across the land, clogging aircraft engines and scrambling communication systems. In the wake of the hostile environment and disabled aeronautics, environmental suits have been converted into weapons of war, now referred to as Hardsuits.
Now in the aftermath of the war with the former super-powers splintered and squabbling between themselves and soldiers without nations or causes to fight for, mercenary bands of hardsuit pilots have monopolised on this situation, offering their services to the highest bidders to participate in their bitter and aggressive skirmishes between the now Balkanised nations.
I'm primarily an illustrator but i've written up a set of experimental rules based on a simple 1d10 system using a results table for resolutions which I'll put in following posts.
I've been posting in the /hbg/ and while response was small, some interest was found so made a thread to see if there's any interest in general.
Hopefully with /tg/s feedback, I can make Hard:Suit into a simple and fun mecha RPG that people would like to try

Slipping on a sleeveless loose top that hangs well past your waist, you thank your endowments for helping you conceal the result of your frequent indulgence in snacks and beer. ...you have way too many secret identities and different personas. However that isn’t the issue.
Now Nui, investigating Endo, is going to this show and has asked you to come with her for moral support. A show you were already going to!
And to further complicate all these complications, Yoshi’s manager isn’t human and now because of you Yoshi knows it. His manager is actually an undead thing, a former soldier from a dead civilization brought back to life as part of a plot to collect and spread negative emotions to yet known ends...who has approached Red Eyed Beast about her coming to see what their organization is all about!
And you were going to go to infiltrate their villainous ranks so you could help your sister and her court, who are the current Sailor Moon and the Sailor Senshi.
“I mean, from the way Sakurada-san played in the gym, it's probably some kind of metal and I’m not sure I’m comfortable with that scene,” Teal explains in an unusual lack of confidence, “Or what to make of Endo-kun being involved in that,”

I've been wanting to run a Dark Souls/Demons Souls campaing, using either the game's settings (Lordran/Boletaria) Or a custom one, fitting the lore. My problem is... What system do I even use for Dark Souls?
I suggest because ORE essentially has a timing mechanic where two warriors can simultaneously hit one another due to how "initiative" works in the game. Plus it has the souls series down home grittiness.
All I'd suggest maybe is removing the penalties to injured limbs/torso.

In the world of Valaer, the Battle of Tirinia changed everything. That was 680 years ago.
Here lies the human Kingdom of Therindel - less a Kingdom than a confederacy of lordships, duchies, principalities, city-states, et cetera - banded together under the constant threat of attack from the mysterious Wood Elves of the eastern land of Xalfacia. For many centuries, these lords and rulers have bickered amongst each other for the right to succeed the King who fell in battle at Tirinia against the Elves.
And now the Kingdom of Therindel is a veritable hotbed of adventure, riches, and loot to be enjoyed by adventurers from all over the world. From the lost cities of the Elves, to the grand old monsters of old, to the buried treasures of those who came before. All across the region, adventurers seek fortune and glory! From the Great Frozen Patch to the Southern Plains of Vistoria, and across the ocean to foreign lands, adventurers of all shapes and sizes test their mettle here in the Kingdom of Therindel! Where heroes are made and fortune is won!
You are not one of those people.
While you enjoy the adventuring life and traveling the great distances of Therindel, things could be better. There is a town in the middle of disputed territories in Therindel, just north of Vistoria, taking a left off the main highway, west of the Great Frozen Patch, and nestled right on top of the Elder River delta (not to be confused with Delta Town of the Younger River delta). Very few know about this town, and why should they? It’s a one horse town built next to a nearly depleted Diamond mine. It is known as Ohlendorf’s Drift.
You are going there to be their first Town Adventurer in decades.
“Alright…” You lick your teeth, drumming your bare fingers against the flat of your blade. It was an early morning rising over the sleepy rivertown of Ohlendorf’s Drift. Folks were busy setting up their shops, eating their breakfast, taking their baths and cleaning out their houses. The miners had already marched out for the day-to-day early to go late to return work that they did in the nearby Diamond mine. It was nothing but another routine day in the years given to you by the great King of... Comment too long. Click here to view the full text.
You charge at him, then bash his shield with the pommel of your sword. Sparks fly off the shield, and your sword rebounds back. He attempts to cut across your lower body. But with a quick lunge back you save yourself. Alright, alright. Find a gap, find a gap. Legs! You hook your crossguard around his ankle, then tug. Muck is swept off his feet, landing firmly on his back. You quickly land your knee on his chest, then point the tip of your sword in the gap between the helmet and the chestplate. “Ha!... Another boy surprises you by saying, “Nope.” The girl squints at the boy, pouting a bit. The boy rubs back his short black hair, looking up at you. “We used to be, but the town couldn’t afford to pay teachers and keep a school running.” He’s much older than the girl, probably a teenager. “You’re actually standing on the lot that used to be the school.”

"Thanks for spending the night with me again Rina." The overweight man smiles at you. "You know you always look cute in your uniform, I like it!" He takes out some cash from his wallet and puts it down on the massage table. "Here's a little pocket money for you."
Although you hated this line of work, you had to do it. This was the only way your stupid older brother could live. "Eh? Thank you so much Shin!" Your lips curl into a forced smile. You couldn't even remember the last time you were happy enough to actually smile. "Come again okay!" For as long as you can remember you have been wearing a mask of happiness.
Although you wanted to tell him off, you couldn't do it. You had to act cute to bring in the customers. The more customers you bring in, the faster you could pay off the debt you inherited from your brother.
After the man leaves you take the money he left and you put on your clothes. You have gotten used to it. The smell of sweat and sex in the air doesn't bother you anymore. "Ah... Finally... I can go home..." You sigh to yourself. You take the money he left as tip and you take a look at it. "Hmm... Maybe I should go to karaoke tonight and unwind..."
[ ] It would be best just to go home.

Welcome back Overlord Steve! With the seal broken, it is only a matter of seconds before hordes of black and green madness pours from the slowly opening portal. It paints the forest around us into a grey shambling mess of rotting vegetation and thorny vines. Delicious bloodcurdling howls and disorienting roars echo around us as the eldritch radiation turns beasts to monstrocities. And before the portal can fully close, a slender figure casually steps out, who would be so terrible that the elves would seal away- HUBBAHUBBA!
