>>36580550 That's how StarDust got so complex. People liked what they saw and wanted specifics. I remember that the phrase about anti-matter cannon blowing holes in planets tickled the autism of so many people that SDA rephrased it and tweaked AMC heavily. That's the price of imagination. Yours is doing fine, I think, no need in statting every character in D&D 3.5.
>>36580818 >>36580820 What's this all about? If anything, CYOA points are fine the way they're designed. Limits are for the good of everyone and actually forces you to weigh and choose. If you can make your ideal build without having a second thought about it, then it's bad balance.
>>36580374 Almost all of these sound pretty terrible. Being trapped in a shitty lamp house for eternity, only being let out to give people wishes? Did I miss something, or is this 9 points because the creator really, really liked the idea of being trapped in a fucking house? You can also re-enact a shitty version of Groundhog Day for 7 points. Or for 8 points, be bound to some random person for their entire life, unable to interact with anyone else, and constantly convincing them to do good things. Oh but you get a holiday in heaven for 6 months when they die. At least the one where you are trapped in a single moment for ETERNITY, unable to do ANYTHING ELSE, FOREVER doesn't cost anything. But seriously, who the fuck would choose that? I would rather be tortured to death over a millennium than that. All the other ones are arguably not completely horrible, but still, all the choices are supposed to be at least reasonable enough for the occasional person to choose.
I'd go with fiend. It's basically the only one that would let you live a normal, immortal life. The only downside being that you have to kill someone every two weeks at the most, but just pick the perk where you are more likely to kill evil people and you're good to go, hello immortal life as Super Dexter. Of course, then you just get 13 more points to spend on bonus perks. I'd pick Free, but Never Alone is probably more important. Actually, fuck it, remove the 'finding evil people' perk, that's a waste of points I'm fucking immortal I can find people to kill by myself. So Free AND Never Alone. Now I won't get trapped in the centre of a star or left alone in space forever when the Earth blows up. Or the universe implodes. I'm not waiting around in space for trillions of years for another big bang or some shit. With those two perks I shouldn't get 'stuck' for billions of years in any situation, but I've got three points left so I might as well grab Pull the Plug just in case something unforeseen happens.
>>36580374 I made a newer version. Changes: The top is more readable. Some perks are labeled as being able to be taken more than once. I reworked a few costs. I added 3 new bonuses (all of which just serve to save/give you more points). I also added a note on Free to indicate what exactly it does for a genie.
>>36581094 I meant for it to have an effect... just not what you interpreted. I added some text to clear that up.
>>36581134 You either didn't read the benefits or didn't like the benefits of these. You can do just about anything you want with your phenomenal cosmic power in your lamp if you're a genie. The time loop has the benefit that you can go around and do whatever you want without having to pay for any consequences. I did agree that it was a bit expensive for that, though. I lowered the price accordingly. For Saint, I wanted the cost to be representative of just how good the heaven is. As for perpetuation.... I have no excuse. There's a reason it is free. But then again, it isn't the only free option. I honestly would be surprised the first time I see someone pick it.
>>36581667 So basically with the genie you can do ANYTHING within your power... but it has to be within your tiny house. That'd be fine if I could make like, a holodeck or something, I guess. But that's kind of cheating.
And I'm sure anyone who has seen Groundhog Day would be able to see the appeal in it, but I don't think anyone would want to live Groundhog Day for eternity. It would get old eventually, even if you got a day which was really exciting and full of stuff to do. Eternity is eternity, and if you can do whatever you want without consequences it gets boring even quicker. I suppose you could pick it and Pull the Plug as well for when you eventually get bored, but I'd personally just rather live a normal life. Or be Super Dexter. But maybe there are people who would rather be Bill Murray for forever than Super Dexter. Those people are stupid though.
>>36581822 Haha, you caught me. Pretty weird actually, in a creative drought. Not sure how to fit everything underneath each princess, with the flavor text and stuff. I think I'm cutting the stats too, since I've got nothing there either.
I think I'm going to order it like this: [Species] Princess "Short Descriptive Catchphrase (ie. Soft & Fluffy)" Territory (ie. Grand Forest Caverns) +Bonus One +Bonus Two +Bonus Three Kingdom Description Princess Description
As you can probably guess, it's a bit hard to fit ten columns of text together.
>>36581667 Can the slime affect their rigidity/density in a localized manner (e.g. have just about completely non-pliable areas where a normal human would have bones, with flesh-like pliability on the bits around them)?
Also, you mention no pain, but what about pleasure? And the main five senses, how would they work?
>>36582047 You can "harden" parts, but that's more of just willing certain parts to not move, even when force acts upon them. Control over slime form is easy & doesn't require any training. One thing you can't do is disguise as human. Unless you pick a really really opaque material, then you're going to be translucent. You have your full array of senses, but whereas nothing can harm you, there's no pain.
>>36582209 In that case, my choice is Slime w/ all the perks + Never Alone.
Would be cool if the mass reduction of the Size Change perk could be done via controlled separation, would allow for all sorts of neat things (being a living converter for drinkable water, food, fuel, etc.)...
>>36582385 I figured, it definitely helps. What do you think about the bonuses? I don't see the point of 'you get to become invisible' or 'you gain a million dollars' since it isn't set in the real world.
Not sure what the desire for Rat Princess is about. Like, a rat version of Kobold Princess?
>>36582506 >Rat princess can be an ugly princess struck by intense anxiety and shyness, her father is one of the wealthiest kings in all of the land, controlling one of the biggest criminal kingdom around.
>>36581667 >Fiend >Free >Pull the Plug And either Flight or Empire. Do whatever, chill, fuck bitches, kill criminals and other bd people every few months. I am pretty sure there are a lot of people that i wouldn't feel guilty after klling them.
KOBOLD PRINCESS Kingdom of Forest Caves + + + KINGDOM Export: Traps Mount: Dire Weasels Worship: God of Mining -- PRINCESS Likes: Cute Gems Dislikes: Her Height
I feel like naming some kingdom bonuses like 'good at jewellery' and 'trapmaking' would be repetitive. Also don't worry about pushing Rat Princess, I might add another row eventually. If I added her now, she'd be next to Chen and Toriel.
>>36582700 Oh, that's actually a brilliant idea, considering there's a chance you could only get one of the three perks. Like, large mining golem, band of kobolds, etc. Alright, I think with that I'm ready. Thanks for the help.
>>36582799 You're welcome. It's upto you really though, I believe having one protector at every bonus 2 for every Kingdom would go down the best. 3 being something else like... >Ogre - Bonus 3 >Get Ogre shaman magic or something, i don't know.
>>36581667 Reincarnation and Chaos Empire, Pull-The-Plug, Training*12
I've got more points than interesting options... Fiend would be good if it turned me into a "real" fiend instead of leaving me stuck for eternity in my mediocre human statw, except with claws and a urge to kill. There's a distinct lack of superpowers available as bonuses... With reincarnation and chaos, I can at least shapechange every eight years. I can be a red panda ruling over China... And I'm guaranteed not to get stuck for too long. It's okay I guess.
As for training... Biology, robotics, computer science, unarmed combat, diplomacy, sex, harmonica, propaganda and public discources, etc...
>>36581667 I feel that the genie option is severely underpowered. Yeah, you got phenomenal cosmic powers but you can't do jack-shit with them. So, some douche rubs the fucking lamp and poof out you go. They're not gonna be able to decide on a wish in 60 seconds unless they spent their whole life preparing for this one moment. And even then, 60 seconds of free-time after granting the wish? Are you completely nuts? No one is going to choose this option for any reason unless they have a *trapped in a house for eternity* fetish. "Oh, what a pretty night-time sky. Neat. Welp, time to re-watch all episodes of scubs. Again"
At the very least, increase the time limit to an hour or so, or even better make it so that when the genie is summoned s/he can chill in the real world until the master banishes them back into the lamp (or you return freely), or that they can run about as much as they like in a 10 meter radius from the lamp or something. If you're gonna use Disney-Aladdin for inspiration then at least stick to the premise established by the movie
Unless you want us to break the option by going "Oh well I use my phenomenal cosmic powers to freeze time/undo the time restriction when I'm out lol w/e gg"
Literally all the other options are better as it stands imo.
That being said, here's my choices. Immortality: Digitalization -6 (19 left) Broadcast -4 (15 left) Android -5 (10 left)
Perks: Never alone -8 (2 left) Training x2 -2 (0 left): Cooking, Math
I'mma waifu it up for someone. The moment I get this I'll make a post here and see who's up for some company. Then I'll just wait around until technology goes up to the point where we can make androids with real sensations. With how fast technology is progressing, it shouldn't be too long. Brush up on all the languages while whoever I'm staying with is asleep. All of the languages. Maybe work as an interpreter to boost the cashflow. Or just play blackjack online for mad dosh.
>>36583237 I'd redo the Genie power such that the Genie can choose to interpret his master's wishes in a manner advantageous to himself. Make the master work for his wishes, dammit.
Specifically, masters should be able to specify, at the most vague, a goal and a method. If the master only supplies one (the goal) but not the method, the Genie is free to act in such a way as to bring the goal about.
Wish to be immortal? Congratulations, you're a jellyfish. Wish to have unlimited wealth? Genie turns himself into a tycoon and then hands out the proceeds to the 'master' whenever the master needs cash. Wish for someone to fall in love with you? Genie turns himself into an exact replica of that person and acts like he's in love with you; as long as he continues to do so he has free rein to behave however he likes and enjoy himself.
Give the Genie an incentive to think about how his powers are exercised.
>>36583360 But that's just circling the issue. So say that some dude likes the genie and wants him/her around for a while, does he have to keep the lamp in one hand all the damn time or is 'physically touched' good for carrying in a backpack or in the pocket of a jacket?
Otherwise the effective net result is the same. The master lets go of the lamp and pomf, back you are. I wanna be able to have whacky space-time adventures with my master if this is gonna be a valid option damit. I can live with ittsy-bitsy living space, with your phenomenal cosmic powers you can make it a maximum chillpad of awesome, but being forced back into the lamp again after a couple of heartbeats makes it a complete no-deal.
>>36580446 > Ancient Grimoire > Lichdom (Mummification) > Desert Temple (-15 coins) > Nerrli as companion > Temple God (+15) > 50 coins worth of mummy minions, season to taste: special emphasis on Priests and Clerics
Start kidnapping travellers/traders. Get Nerrli to use their remains to restore Priests to life. Use their persuasiveness to begin establishing cults. Use political influence on nearby city-states: you will charitably take their criminals and scumbags off their hands and spare them the expense of incarcerating them.
Use the corpses of criminals to revive all the temple's mummified staff. Re-establish religion of the dead god, become multiclass cleric/necromancer.
As an immortal pharaoh priest-king, continue spreading influence. Offer protection and guidance for caravans. Turn the Desert Temple into the nexus of a bustling trade-city. Caravans led by a Priest become rumoured to make their way across the desert with amazing swiftness, security, and comfort; the Priests also manage to convert many who go on to found cults.
Soon, the cults would have done enough charitable/community work to come out as legitimate religions, building temples in the great cities of the world. And then our victory will be complete!
Also, Nerrli is like the curviest of the waifu options. Dem hips. Restoring her to flesh and then sticking my obelisk into her is going to be a major priority.
>>36583768 I know exactly what you mean, but I don't want to create any loopholes for escape. In the scale of eternity, it might be reasonable to change the 1 minute to 1 hour. That wouldn't break too easily & could allow for more adventurous possibilities.
>>36580805 Then you have the other side of the coin. No stats or explanation and too many words that say nothing at all and very few actual choices Give me complexity that actually tells me something over this shit any day
> Spectral Grimoire > Abandoned Castle (-10) > Well of Souls (in the deepest castle dungeons, duh) > Morgan as companion > Nadya as bonus companion > Vessel for Nadya (-2) > also buy and restore the Dilapidated Inn for (-5) > Francis (-1) > Riela (-1)
Use the Inn as a way of snaring lowlifes, smugglers, highwaymen, and the assorted detritus of human society. Their souls shall fuel my Well of Souls. This should still let me be Good enough for Nadya not to hate me.
Francis and Riela should be socialised enough to be trusted to run the Inn. On the side, Francis can forge weapons and armour for more Armoured Spirits, and Riela can learn some magic.
I'll have a nice little family unit (Morgan for waifu, Nadya as a cute creepy daughter), a livelihood, and a steady source of guilt-free souls to keep us going. As well as an army of captured spirits in the basement or something, fuck I don't know.
Morgan meanwhile summons the spirits haunting the castle, and soon we have our own pseudo-thriving g-g-ghost community.
Given a family, a livelihood, and comfortable immortality with which to contemplate the world and grow stronger in my magic, I'm not really sure I even care about vengeance any more at this point.
>>36583830 An hour I can live with. It's much better than a minute. And then s/he can just rub the lamp again for another hour, sure. This works.
Still, maybe I'm dull in the head, but I can't really say how you'd break the "until your master banishes you back into the lamp". Maybe reword it so that it's "until your master dies, or wills you back into the lamp (which works no matter what or where you are)". That's basically foolproof, right? But then again I'm not an expert in breaking wordings.
>>36585584 Are you an idiot? They clearly included chen and the alien based on that other image. They didn't randomly include a touhou. What's the point of calling it Honk Princess if retards like you don't even know why it's there. Also, Toriel is an existing character, and she's right next to Chen, which they included because of this image.
>>36580322 >Heal, Hold and Heat. Seems rather simple, but I'd like to maintain good health and Hold & Heat abilities are quite practical and would be useful even in regular, mundane life. The side bonuses are also nothing to complain about.
I'd be a lovechild of Jesusgirl and Dr. Dick, helping the amputees, disabled and sick. Maybe even test their character and faith, offering them either money or health, if they renounce the ways of Mammon and accept Jesus as their saviour and lover. And I'd try to live as a cyber-homeless while posting nudes of famous people on the Internet.
>>36587156 That's a good system. You could go both ways, it's just text. My opinion? Either make both versions or make it super lewd, because the funny version is already done. Just let your creativity and lewd thoughts run wild.
>>36587156 I assure you, a big part of /tg/ won't mind it super lewd as long as there's something beside the lewdness. Feel free to add it more like side bonus/customization option for all the waifu lovers.
>Dead Auteurs' Society >Mister Vampire >Suburban Ghoul
And with Predators as a complication, >Peacemaker >Rakshasa Manager
Plan is, use the timestop abilities of the watch to freeze everything except me and my ferry, which means I can navigate distances in no time at all, completely free from attacks from predators. The gun is there just in case things go badly wrong.
Also, if I were designing this as a setting instead of a thing I'd do, I'd also add Thinning as a complication just so i can get sythe and coins, just to be OP.
>>36587569 think it means you accelerate constantly faster and faster at 60mph but not instantly any speed so maybe if your willing to wait that long but then have fun decelerating or smacking into a planet its like you people dont play kerbal or shores of hazeron
