Backer PDF spotted tucked behind Duke Nukem Forever case in the clearance bin!
Thread Question : What's the least reasonable thing you have ever done with custom charms?
Stalwart (Element) Host
Cost: 3m per soldier, 1wp
Mins: War 5,Essence 4
Type: Simple for one soldier, a minute long ritual for multiple
Keywords: Combo-OK, Obvious, Elemental
Duration: One Scene
Prerequisite Charms: Ramparts of Obedient Earth
There is horrors in Creation that can freeze blood in the veins of even the bravest mortals with their mere sight. Worse still, there is beings whose deceptive beauty and poisoned words easily bend mortals, no matter how faithful, to their will. But Dragon-Blooded commanders can bring an army with them even to the places where the human bravery falters and human will fails - an army made of Essence and pure elements. It is said that Immaculate Pasiap himself invented Stalwart Earthen Host as a mean to combat Anathema who was able to enslave any mortal and nearly any Terrestrial with a single glance, and this Charm gained widespread popularity among Dragon-Blooded officers since then.
The Dragon-Blood touches a large quantity of the charms associated element with his palms, and for every 3 motes spent on this Charm, one animated figure of an armed and armored soldier rises from the earth. Elemental soldiers have the base statistics of elite troops (Exalted p.280), except that they soak lethal damage with their full Stamina, and have no will of their own, obeying all orders of their creator unquestioningly. They follow normal construct rules.
Infernal or Abyssal? Or Exigent of some Forbidden God?
Seems to me like it could reasonably be an Infernal exaltation, except for the fact that he's dead.
At Essence 5+, experienced users of this Charm can customize equipment of their creations. If he does so, he can create soldiers with any mundane weapons and armor of standard quality, but all soldiers created by a single invocation of this Charm must be armed and equipped similarly. This Charm cannot be invoked if this user doesn't have access to large amounts of the associated element. If one of the created golems is destroyed before duration of the Charm ends, the Essence committed to creation of this particular soldier becomes free. All equipment is also made of the same element and both it and the golem dissolves into it upon death.
All created soldiers automatically have benefits of Enfolded in the Dragon’s Wings Charm, as if it was used on them by their creator.
Earth: Clay and soil golems.
Water: Flowing soldiers made of water with the purity of it's source.
Wood: Small trees and shrubs twisted into humanoid shape.
Air: Figures made of mist and cloudstuff. Touching them feels like resisting intense hurricane force winds, though they appear absolutely calm.
Fire: As with wood, but using mostly dried and dead branches and coal, most of their "flesh" is made of illusory flame much like the air version, only their skeleton is solid.
This might seem pretty reasonable, but
it's the only homebrew I've actually used in game.
I could totally imagine a group knockback Charm. How many anime/comics/etc do that nice big scene where the hero punches 1 guy and the rest go flying? It's definitely a thing in pop culture-Especailly Dynasty Warriors, which is listed right along as an influence.
You not familiar with booty, Anon. I am disappointed.
About as familiar as many of these artists are with anatomy and proportion amirite? The tabard or whatever the hell she's wearing makes her look like she's got a monstrously deformed ass.
It's because the artist who did that pic is a hentai artist Square hired to do some work for some Japan only phone game.
I should have expected it, given the way she's suggestively clutching what looks to be a round sword.
Japan you so crazy.
>unreasonable charm antics
A whole tree of fertility-related charms capped at the top with a primae noctis deal wherein the first child concived by any couple within the area the solar consecrated would be the solar's, with the couple rolling off against each others stamina+resistance and the loser being replaced by the solar as the parent.
It was just supposed be a way to bind my character more strongly to the kingdom he was building and be a fairly mild and unobtrusive trip to my magical realm, more fluff than anything, but it turned out to have pretty major in game effects when things came to the final showdown and my character showed up with an army twice the size of anyone else's and made up of half-castes instead of heroic mortals and a smattering of terrestrials.
If the devs have explicitly avoided using Western Fantasy tropes, then what exactly is the East supposed to be? All the forests and rolling plains look like pretty much the perfect place for a more traditional fantasy feel.
Though, with Exalted's overall themes it would probably end being more like old European myth than LotR-style fantasy.
Fellow storytellers, is it me or in Exalted games people go out of their way to try to save the female antagonists a lot? I recently notice sending an unhinged insane abyssal woman at the party. Rather than them killing her like I expected, they managed to avoid that. I tried the same thing in a different campaign with a male, he was gibed.
I always felt the East read more into either sub-tropical rainforest (Cambodia, Thailand) closer to the Pole rather than Europe, with the Northeast becoming more taiga and the Southeast being more African savanna.
I dunno why. I'll have to read the 3e blurbs again. I always got a "hot and sticky and bound to give you foot rot" vibe from the East.
>Something-something-patriarchy-something-something-outdated-chivalry-something-about-enforced-gender-roles blah blah blah
It's the best I got at this hour.
It might be you. Then again, I've got what the internet feminists might call an "internalized misogynist" chick at my table who sometimes goes out of her way to comedic lengths to curbstomp evil females.
...either that or she's got a raging hate-on for Infernals. It's hard to tell.
The Scavenger Lands and Hundred Kingdoms are pretty Western Fantasy Tropes. with further east becoming more native american (both north and south) with the north being more taiga and the south being more jungle
Because gamers know evil sex is the best sex. They're not trying to reform her, they're trying to get some of that sweet, sweet evil pussy.
...ugh. Yeah, one of the players did in fact have sex with the insane abyssal chick, yeah. The doctor of the group did try to help with her madness though, at least.
So fellow Storytellers, how do you portray Arcane Fate when your players are being screwed with by Sids. Just not give a detailed description of them or something? Or something more complex?
It's a well known fact evil gets all the best women, for the heroes to reform them with the power of dick.
Alright when are you fuckers gonna upload the new PDF?
Soo, anyone got a link?
There are no watermarks, Onyx Path does not use them or any sort of DRM. There was a huge bitchfest over them accidentally putting a watermark in Mage 20, which they promptly removed.
Exigents are the "in case of emergency break glass" button for the gods. In a true crisis, any god can gain permission from the Unconquered Sun to create a unique Champion, an Exalt who partakes of their essence. Exigents are generally about as strong as a Dragon-Blood, though some are *much* stronger. The consequence of their creation is that the god who made them loses a lot of his personal power. For very weak gods or very strong Exigents, it can kill the god that made them, so they're sort of a "Everything's fucked anyway so I might as well do it" tactic.
That's how pretty Swan should be, though.
Nope. The devs said they actually *added* more charms during the editing process.
This picture just evokes 'fire goatse' in my head for reasons I can't explain.
From Rich's message to backers :
>As I mentioned earlier this week, this EX3 backer PDF contains the complete interior of the book, except that this is not the finished cover, and the Index still needs to be created and added, along with the PDF bookmarks and hyperlinks.
I'll post some of the background art I got too,
Initial reactions mechanically on the busted shit in the leak:
Fate-Shifting Solar Arete and Thousand Courtesan Ways are unchanged. Ick.
God-King's Shrike/Dogstar Ruminations fixed. Fivefold Bulwark Stance fixed.
Hammer on Iron no longer ignores Hardness, which is a good thing, but FFFO and Ferocious Jab still make it easily the strongest offensive charm in the game.
>Reflexive Charms which create attacks generally do so with the Ability they belong to, unless the governing Ability can’t normally attack or unless otherwise noted.
>Thunderclap Rush Attack
>The attack in this instance must be made the moment the Solar blurs forward, and so this Charm can only be activated at short range. This attack counts as her turn for the round, and doesn’t have to be a Brawl attack.
The new integrity stuff is pretty cool, too.
Bridge keyword lets you qualify for certain charms without buying the rest of the Integrity charm tree (i.e. qualifying for the meditation charms with a certain number of Martial Arts charms, rather than the rest of Integrity).
War still has nothing above essence 3 though. >.<
Literally the only artist I'm interested in for Ex3 is Melissa Uran. ...though I have to check the credits because I think the guy who does those crazy stained glass mosaics was tapped for some art. (Either that or they got a similar artist.)
Reading further it's everywhere - images that overflow from one page or another inadvertently, or aren't properly butted against the page edge when they clearly are intended to. I like the general visual style of the book, but I have to wonder how much attention they were paying at times.
Bruh, Fae have always employed wyld mutants. And remember being under the wyld's influence feels GOOD in 3e. It's addictive and powerful feeling; you get to be part of something huge, like a story, instead of just the random batterings of causality.
Assuming those aren't just more, bestial hobgoblins or whatever.
I'm pretty sure that's how Northern Hobs are described, or at least it's a possibility.
>Though the details of their appearance vary from place to place — furred and bestial in the North [...]
They also are written up using talon and bite attacks rather than weapons, which I wouldn't have guessed from the name.
Some of this interior art is reminding me of 5e. That "we want a painted, softer-edged look but we're going to hire artists who don't know how to do that so everything looks like it was printed on wet toilet paper" look.
>The Lawgiver pens a soul-shattering missive, convicting her subject he leads a pointless existence. This Charm can only be directed at a specific target. [...] If she beats her target’s Resolve, his soul falls off and sinks directly into lethe.
>his soul falls off
Yeah, Cup Boils Over was in the leak. It's awesome.
It especially paints how thin the line between Solars and Abyssals is: both of them can tell a guy he's so worthless that he's better off being recycled into worm food and someone else's soul, but for the Solar it has to actually be true for it to work.
They did some experimental Charm trees, but it was clearly shown that with trees as big as 3e's, they were completely worthless. Even middling-sized abilities like Dodge would have been either whole-page diagrams or 6-Charm chunks floating in a void of implied prerequisites.
It really is. So far I've only seen a couple of nice pieces (mostly the stained-glass mosaics at the beginning) but the majority is this ... soggy blurry mess. The watercolor effects are pretty on the page, but the accompanying attempt on the art is ... disjointed. Hell I think there's a bit of Exigent art in their splash page where the guy's face is out of line with his skull.
I'm not a professional drawfag by any stretch of the imagination but some of this is kinda embarrassing.
I haven't been paying attention to Exalted since early 2.5, so I don't know any of this stuff. Now just seemed like an excellent point to jump back in.
And poke fun at some of the doofy illustrations.
Yeah I think 2e was my favorite art-style
1e seemed to heavy on thick lines and stark caricature-ish looking characters
this, well this looks like >>43219474 said
2e's animu wanna-be art was a nice middle ground that got alot of the themes across pretty great
And now I wait for all the people who let extend their (justified) hate toward 2e mechanics into "EVERYTHING in 2e is literally worse than radioactive Ebola and 1e was a flawless paradise" to come out of the woodwork to insult me
Okay seriously what the fuck did that bear do to justify the deformed hairy viking woman ripping him in half with a cartoon velociraptor.
Seriously. Shit's just uncalled for.
I found one piece by Melissa Uran so far so there is that. I prefer her black and white sketchy stuff, but it's something.
...at least there's nothing so far by the chick who always gave her characters big gooey eyelashes and camel toe.
>Fivefold Bulwark Stance fixed.
How is it fixed? It's pretty much unchanged. The only attacks it does not qualify against are those that
> "cripple the senses, such as those that cause blindness or dizziness, and attacks which physically stun the Solar (such as Ox-Stunning Blow). Poisons and illusions may also cut through the Solar’s Defense through use of this Charm".
None of the effects mentioned there are what makes the charm busted.
Mists of Eventide control spell unchanged.
Whips still don't grapple with Melee, even if they are Melee weapons with the Grappling tag.
Integrity's Energy Restoration Prana resets dailies in seconds, which is worrisome.
>Why the hell do people paint 1e as a flawless paradise anyway? Was it really that good?
By comparison to 2e, it was, but taken on its own no, it was also massively flawed. Just, y'know, actually PLAYABLE.
1E's mechanics were unequivocably worse in general. Solars were even more dominant than they were in 2E, and other than the Sids, basically everyone was worse off.
However, 1E's lore was a jagged mountainrange of "fucking awesome" highs and "fucking terrible" lows, which is much better for a lot of people than 2E's, which got rid of nearly all the highs in exchange for filling in only most of the lows.
So, uh, page 575. 3 o'clock looks very much to me like the cover of Crusader Kings 2, and I'm pretty sure 7 o'clock was a Steam event banner? Is this just me?
I can't take the horrific beasty seriously when the dude he's eating looks like that.
I can see where you're coming from, but I prefer 1e for the thick lines and the way it conveyed the general strangeness of the setting. 2e's art style felt too bland to me, though it did convey everything consistently.
3e's art is all over the map. There are a lot of pretty pieces, reminding me of the gorgeous Lot5r 4e book, but there are others that seem half-done or nonsensical. Like the 3d art. I think 3d in general doesn't belong in rpg book, but the 3d pieces are especially deviant-art level bad.
Though apparently the art was optimized for paper and not on a screen, so I'll leave my final judgement for when I have the book.
New Evos are interesting. Of particular note: Each arti now has a specific non-Charm power you don't have to buy if you fulfil the criteria (which Solars always seem to).
So basically Artifact powers have come back in. Probably the result of Arms of the Chosen dev work?
My real problem with 1efags (and the 3e devs) is that 2e's mechanics were objectively bad and there is nothing wrong with shitting all day on them. 2e's fluff on the other hand is a matter of subjective taste and yet people still act like insufferable cunts about it.
You don't like magitech? Think the Reclamation was pushed too hard? Oblivion being the end all be all for the forces of the Neverborn was bland? That's perfectly cool. But too often from Holden and Morte and on /exg/ you hear "this bit of 2e fluff was badwrong and anyone who enjoyed it as part of the setting is an idiot"
As I said, being able to counter the newly exempted effects is not why the charm is broken in the first place, it's completely negating onslaught & wound penalties for the entire the scene. Flow Like Blood, a comparable charm in Dodge, an ability that has *not getting hit as its sole purpose*, has the prerequisite that you need to have a higher initiative to ignore penalties.
This Abyssal is giving me some Symphony of the Night vibes.
I'm getting "another Deathknight from World of Warcraft sulking in the cemetery in Stormwind" vibe myself.
Especially since he doesn't know whether to look sad at the rose or if he thinks it's gonna bite him.
They were never supposed to, dope.
Xth Circle Demon is the most powerful spell in the game, period. Giving it a control benefit on top would be retarded.
If anything I would have expected a control PENALTY, but a superficial effect like Magma Kraken would be fine.
Art's easy to skim and this book has a lot of vaguely doofy art. Detailed mechanical analysis will come later.
It also has a man punching a gorilla.
Take a look at Divine Mantle in Integrity.
Spirit Charms for all Solars!
I did them for the leaked version, but some jerk removed from the Exalted General OPs at some point. I'll be doing a new set this weekend using the backer PDF.
And people paid over $650,000 for this.
>I did them for the leaked version, but some jerk removed from the Exalted General OPs at some point. I'll be doing a new set this weekend using the backer PDF.
I thank you in advance for your work.
Found it. What a hack. Hope they fire that dude.
I'm fucking dying. This shit is amateurish.
If I posted it on the rpgnet forums i'd get banned
It is. It's this banner :
Reversed and slightly modified but clearly recognizable.
I don't know who this artist is, but fucking hell this is terrible. I've got nothing against using already existing art to help you get started on a piece, but you're not supposed to just copy-paste the fucking thing and add in a bit of yellow.
Here's hoping enough people notice and report that. I don't care if they have to remove it, I don't care if we have to wait another six month for more art to replace it. This is a disgrace and I don't want it in my premium book.
Wait, Heavenly Guardian Defense lets you completely negate a surprise attack for just 4m? I know this was probably in the leak too, but damn. Now melee is better at surprise negation than awareness.
>add a cape
>add some arrows
>erase some birds
instant original artwork!
Rules wise it's actually pretty good, fluff-wise it's competent but a bit too up its own ass about being ~mysterious~, but more places have more flavor than they used to (Corebook to Corebook).
Top image: Invokes preternatural feats of stealth, standing unseen and hidden in plain sight in a group of enemies.
Bottom image: Does not evoke 'stealth'.
I don't want my message to be interpreted the wrong way, so to clarify, I do not think this is anybody's fault but the artist themselves. I don't expect anybody at Onyx Path to be checking to tracing, it's not their fucking job, you should not have to suspect the artist you're paying of trying to rip you off.
The artist is entirely responsible and should be blacklisted. Fuck, OP's probably the biggest victim here, if the IP holders for Chivalry discover that their banner was lifted almost wholesale and put in another company's book they could very well sue.
Incidentally, it would be nice if we could determine which other parts of the picture were stolen and from what, or even other pieces by that same person, before we bring it to Rich. I don't want this to look like we're claiming OP's trying to rip us off on the book's art, that would be counterproductive and would only help in shutting off the dialog.
Yeah, as someone who drawfags for money? A lot of the art in here is fucking SHAMEFUL. I'm not an "industry pro" or even in the industry, I just draw porn on commission, but you have so many artists in this book who are just not even trying.
The badger picture? That artist should have, at some point, just fucking told Onyx Path that he couldn't do the picture. That isn't just mediocre art, that is someone who shouldn't be selling his shit.
The combat system is genuinely interesting, as long as action order changing each turn doesn't scare you off. It basically uses your Initiative as a second tier of hit points, and different powers interact with that versus normal Wounds in different ways.
It also means it keeps the "you can die in one hit" thematic feel without PCs actually having to worry about dying in one hit, since they're skilled enough to have their Initiative as a buffer.
Also, the sorcerous works system is interesting, and most Charms are at least serviceable.
The major problems are
- the minor but pervasive mechanical clunkiness inherited from 2e, like the arrangement of Abilities
- Craft being so dumb, seriously, so dumb
- Martial Arts now being a huge point sink, so it's even dumber than in 2e to actually be a martial artist
- way too many Charms that just do stuff equivalent to "get +1 or +2 on rolls in X situation"
Oh I agree, the artist who painted over existing artwork and then got money for it should be fired and blacklisted.
But the artwork of the whole book minus like ... three pieces so far (and the sigs art is pretty okay is ... kind of a lot of shit.
>training times STILL in the book
Who fucked up? I want them fired.
I'd actually say that there's enough actually good art in the book that makes the bad art stick out even worse.
Like, you go to page 153 and have some SHAMEFULLY bad poser art, and then like 3 pages later, you get this. The art for Obsidian Butterflies? Good. The art for Death Ray? Good. Art on page 488 in Sorcery? P. fucking neat.
There is just such a startling contrast between the competent art and the bad art, to the point where I can't really say there's much MEDIOCRE art in the book!
I think that's a reference to that one pic in Masters of Jade where a Lunar steals a Solar baker's cake and eats it all.
It's kind of hard to tell because the Lunar has shitty green tattoos instead of moonsilver, but yeah, fuck that art.
>I did them for the leaked version, but some jerk removed from the Exalted General OPs at some point. I'll be doing a new set this weekend using the backer PDF.
They're in the folder!
Also here's a copy of the book on mega
I'm not putting it on my MF yet though
Considering that we waiting so long for the art to get done
> Martial Arts now being a huge point sink, so it's even dumber than in 2e to actually be a martial artist
... You do realize you can buy MA charms with Solar XP, right? That's the whole point. You can advance your Solar charm progression and MA charm progression at the same time.
No it's not you dingus, because there's only one person at OP proper (Rich) and the rest are freelancers. In any case, you should never have to suspect an alleged professional artist you're commissioning is sending back stolen art. The artist is the sole person to blame here.
Maybe I'm weird, but I kinda miss the 'clean' feel of the pre-layout leak in terms of "just text, ma'am"... maybe that's just Stockholm, though.
Not for the print book, obviously, but for a working document.
The art itself isn't bad - it's anime tier and you wonder how she's actually SITTING on that "throne", but smudging shit over her leg because of amg exposed skin brought the quality of the whole piece down.
Though Volfer in his magic underoos on p249 is pretty fucking magical.
No. It's still the 2 Charms that were in the leak. He's making a joke about how the Table of Contents goes straight from Sex (168) to Ride (180).
There's 11 pages of Presence Charms between them.
I didn't want to think and believe the bottom was official art.
Then I stumbled on page 153 oh my god.
What the fucking fuck?
Sure, but you still have to buy the Martial Arts merit first, and then buy the Martial Arts ability separately for each Martial Art, and then when you buy Martial Arts Charms you can't combine them with any other non-Martial Art combat Abilities.
Basically, going MA means you're locking yourself into having to buy MA 5 ratings over and over any time you switch styles.
>having to buy MA 5 ratings over and over any time you switch style
Which will happen, what, maybe once in a characters life? Twice or three times if they are a dedicated martial artist.
So kinda like 1e's fluff?
Not feeling the combat honestly. The "one hit splatter" feel means shit to me nor does the dissidia fighting system appeals to me since it seems unfitting to the more slow and abstract nature of tabletop and because you have no direct skill input.
Also is sorcery more interesting than it was in 2e? For I found the handling of sorcery to be dogshit as it was basically Charms+ with an adding of fuck you for trying to make or customized spells.
Me too, though I tossed an Exalt name from my first long campaign myself.
To be fair, I don't give much of a shit about that, it should be corrected sure, but it isn't crucial.
The good thing is, most of the art is good, and I know they had a ton of artists bailing on them, which is terrible but not blaming the devs for this.
Here's the missing portion retrieved from the leak
The Delzahn nomads remain tied to their urban brethren, as their tribes maintain cohorts in
Chiaroscuro and on the Southern steppes. The nomads maintain their ancient way of life, herding
livestock across a thousand miles of open range and raiding the farms and villages of foreigners
who don’t allow them to graze and water their herds. They often visit Chiaroscuro itself, both to
sell their animals in the city markets and to visit their kin, and it’s not unknown for nomads to
settle there or urban Delzahn to abandon city life for horse and horizon.
The Delzahn maintain strict gender roles. Men rule everything outside the household, such as
hunting, mercantile activity and war. They wear peacock-bright veils whose colors and patterns
proclaim their bloodlines and achievements—the source of their honor. Delzahn women rule the
household itself, from finances to marriage. Their honor derives from their beauty rather than
deeds or lineage; they never conceal their faces, and many wear gauzy clothing to flaunt their
For those who feel mismatched to their gender and its roles, a Delzahn wearing clothing of the
opposite biological sex, including at least one gray garment—often a scarf or a veil—is treated as
a member of that sex. Those who “take the gray” are known as Dereth. They are viewed as
unusual, but no more so than one who is left-handed or has mismatched eyes. Some say they’re
lucky at love. Others claim them beloved by the gods; many Delzahn priests and shamans are
The Far South
The land grows hotter and water scarcer inland. Hill tribes engage in brutal wars amid the
maquis. Horse-archers ride across the sweltering steppes, alert for game beasts or the dreaded
Lion Folk. Nomads and merchants meet under oaths of hospitality in towns along the green
banks of rivers and the shores of inland seas. Farther south, the last vegetation gives way to the
many faces of the desert: barren ridges, stony plains and salt flats encircling a vast central sea of
sand speckled with emerald and sapphire oases.
The farther south one goes, the richer the cities and tribes are in precious metals, gemstones,
incense, ivory, spices, firedust, and silk, while fresh water becomes rare and valuable as jade.
Merchants and scavengers alike hire guides and guards mounted on Southern steeds and beasts
of burden, from camels and quaggas to giant aardvarks and flightless birds. They risk death from
lions and scorpions, heatstroke and sandstorms, the trickery of desert gods and the hungers of the
Fair Folk, all to win a share the deep desert’s rewards—wealth, relics from lost cities, the
wisdom of eremites and the blessings of the spirit courts.
Whenever I played MA back in 2.5e, I often had lots of styles with one or two charms bought from them. Am I right in thinking 3e more supports focusing and finishing one style before moving to another instead.
Artifacts are generally designed to harmonize with a
certain sort of Essence. Few if any artifacts will yield up
the fullness of their Evocations equally to all wielders.
In particular, the Evocations found in this book are
designed for the use of the Solar Exalted unless
otherwise specified, and will yield up only fragments
of their power (if any) to non-Solar wielders.
Wow, this sucks. Any idea why they did this?
Fuck yes 54 confirms that Alchemicals are still gonna be a thing AND they used my favorite one!
Speaking of, besides Lissome Avid Engineer and Manosque Cyan I wonder who the other Exalts are. Assuming that each one is a different Exalt, then one is probably a Getimian but the others...new Exalt types that haven't been revealed yet?
Do you have the same conspiracy theory about Martial Arts, too? Because that is the WORST possible reading of Evocations as they are now: they work like MA tiers. Nothing more or less.
Welp, I went ahead and put it on their forums using what I suspect will end up being a burner account.
Any bets on how long the shitstorm takes?
Center right. He actally brushed over some shit for this one. What an overachiver!
>dat intro story actually being readable
I never finished before, it hurt my eyes too much
it's been so long I don't even remember the name I asked to be in the book
If they want to pull that card, I can just respond with 'I was planning on registering anyway as this was the first major purchase from them'.
Like I said, I'm expecting it to end up being a burner account, I just wanted to make sure that it actually got out there.
That being said, I have a feeling that this isn't going to just go away, especially if this gets crossposted to BGG or somewhere similar.
It's really a fine example of the sad state of things when you can't point out a fairly blatant art thief/lazy shit without being afraid you're gonna get banned or flamed by a goddamn legion of fanboys.
Definitely wasn't worth the amount of time invested into them.
I just hope that they don't do it for the other books although I suspect they will just go "We did it in the core book so we have to do it to the others"
Well, lets see what happens when the BD book finally comes out in 2019
>Backer pdf out
That means only seven years or so before my favorite Exalted get their own book and I play one again!
>Artifacts are generally designed to harmonize with a certain sort of Essence. Few if any artifacts will yield up the fullness of their Evocations equally to all wielders. You fucking pillock.
Annnnd now we get RPG.cunt in the room.
There's nothing perceived about it, my little triggered autist. This. Is. FUCKING. INEXCUSABLE.
And it ended up being exactly what I knew it would be.
So blow it out your fucking asshole.
>Few if any artifacts will yield up the fullness of their Evocations equally to all wielders.
>equally to all wielders.
>the Evocations found in this book are designed for the use of the Solar Exalted
>in this book
>You know who I've insulted more then anyone? That cancer riddled fuck, and his buttbuddy hamster.
>There's nothing perceived about it
Yes there is. I didn't say "alleged", I said "percieved", in that you fucking percieved it. There is no independant observer abilitated to determine wether or not this is objectively incompetence after dutifully keeping track of Maria Cabardo's day to day work. There is only what we percieve from our end, and I would sooner be called "RPG.cunt" than pretend otherwise. Which is saying a lot because I'd never register an account on that shithole forum.
The point wasn't wether or not you're right regarding her incompetence. The point was that you're going way beyond blaming her for that and clearly entering the realm of personal hatred, with marked tints of mysogyny on top. Which is not necessary at all.
This is all very nice cherry picking, you fucking pillock, but selecting parts of sentences and ignoring the rest is not how you derive meaning from text at all.
It's not surprising you're so confused if you're getting *that* wrong.
Oh god. Oh my fucking GOD.
Yes, you dense nigger, this is fucking incompetence. Holy jesus. Half. A goddamn. Fucking page. Of text. Is behind a picture.
You are one dense retard. And let me point you to >>43221875
It's not that she's a woman. If she was a man, I'd...still probably be calling her an incompitent bitch, because it's such a fun and versitile word.
Sorry it triggers you so hard.
>Good thing inbreeding isn't a thing in Creation
Any idea why Thunderclap Rush Attack *doesn't* consume your movement action? Also I like how you can now use it with Archery and Thrown, but you have no incentive to.
And unarmed can no longer be dual-wielded. Unlike cestus, which can. Clearly the nerf unarmed needed.
Calm your tits. It's not like she ran over your cat or something. She just did a bad job in an RPG book. You seem to have some kind of psychotic, personal hatred for her, and that kind of anger at someone you've never met isn't healthy.
Here, look at this curtsying demon maid and calm down.
>Thread about Exalted
>Telling people not to be cunts
It's mostly that we've had this narrative of her being a really good layout person who's been working for, remember, almost a full year on just pure layout work, and there are still some REALLY CLUMSY layout problems
"This Charm allows the Solar to move a single range band without consuming her movement action, to make an attack regardless of her position in the Initiative order"
Wording in both this and the playtest. A couple of sessions back I used TCRA and, since it 'counts as my turn' used my reflexive move and one extra step to move three range bands and hit someone. Which, yeah, is a bit good.
But since you can only move on your turn, and this counts as your turn, why specify that it doesn't consume your move. Unless you can move /after/ you make the attack (which would be a bit weird).
Yeah, I'm not the guy screaming and crying back there, but this is really, legitimately nigh-impossible to forgive given the time allotted and the insisted skill of the person in charge.
>nigh-impossible to forgive given the time allotted and the insisted skill of the person in charge.
Well, it will be forgiven.
But they ought to consider hiring someone who's actually good at doing layouts.
Like that guy they fired.
>Yes, you dense nigger, this is fucking incompetence. Holy jesus. Half. A goddamn. Fucking page. Of text. Is behind a picture.
And then another halfapage LOST in page divide.
And then later on another halfpage under image (fogshark ate its statblock, it's hilarious)
Remember, it was Holden who was talking about her being so great, not her. If anyone is deserving of anger about this, it's him.
She did bad work after all, but he was the one trying to sell her to us as the greatest thing ever.
That's actually something Holden was bitching about; the number of times he had to send art back telling people "Guys Nova is fucking black."
RPG artists are the people too stupid or stubborn to make it as real artists, with scant few exceptions.
She wasn't, actually. Maria was working on Ex3rd like, part time at best, for short chunks of time, while busy with more pressing projects. Where did this idea she was on this project full time come from?
I- I mean, Todd never lies. He gives you the best quality open-world RPGs on the market. Why don't you pre-order Fallout 4 for the PC, Playstation 4, or Xbox One? It's sure to provide you with more enjoyment than this dumb tabletop game.
"The attack in this instance must be made the moment the Solar blurs forward, and so this Charm can only be activated at short range."
Since the charm moves you a rangeband, and the target has to be at short range, you can't combo it with Thunderbolt Attack Prana (and you can't combo it the other way since TCRA counts as your go for the turn). And Rushes can explicitly be used even after a reflexive move action... I guess you might have a point on disengage.
It's more like the "professionals" they hired for Ex3 missed it repeatedly. There's another piece of art where Jade, Panther, Dace, and Novia are all waaaaaaay lighter than they should be.
>be better than they are
It's more that some Anons don't give a shit about being better.
Which is okay, really. The point of 4chan is to serve as a refuge for those who can't act in a civil manner elsewhere, after all.
>The point of 4chan is to serve as a refuge for those who can't act in a civil manner elsewhere, after all.
Wow, totally didn't just rip off movie Loki for the wood aspect
Why the hell are you trying to deny that? Fuck's sake dude. We've litterally been called "the asshole of the internet" since 2008. I'm not insulting this place, just stating a fact.
Disappointing. Resistance was too weak in the playtest and leak, and I made that known repeatedly.
Did they really not fix it?
Next you'll tell me Melee is still the best combat ability by leaps and bounds.
I can assure you that as his friend, he is no liar.
> The Twilight may have up to (Essence) spirit familiars bound in this fashion at once.
No more spirit army. I get one.
ONE. SINGLE. LOW. LEVEL. SPIRIT. FUCKING. FAMILIAR.
FUCK YOU HOLDEN!!!
point the first: going all "damn the consequences!" in pursuit of grandiose plans of dubious benefit is solar as fug.
point the second: being an essence channeler probably helps with that sort of thing
point the third:
that I'd also, my magical relm
