Is anyone here getting the new Toynami Voltron over the new Soul of Chogokin version? I like the classic look of the SOC better but the Toynami version looks like it has great articulation. So far the SOC has only been shown in very limited poses.
>that thing you bought thinking it would go up in price sooner is still MSRP or on clearance >that thing you didn't buy thinking you still had plenty of time is two to four times more expensive now
What is its name /toy/? The name of that toy that you thought you had plenty of time to buy, it wasn't even a year old, maybe not even six months old, but next time you checked the price on it, it was going for more than you were willing to pay? This hobby is 100% bullshit.
>>5852144 >26 >Man >Figuarts, S.I.C. and Four Horsemen i suppose, i don't think those lines are the best ever but they're just the ones i have the most from. >Play Arts Kai, Marvel Legends and Daibadi, they're the only lines that have actually burned me on a purchase i've made from them to the point where i don't bother buying them anymore.
32 M Transformers G1 MP, S.H.Figuarts DBZ, S.H.Figuarts Kinnikuman (I also like high end super robots figures like STN Getters, SOC GGG and such but nothing forming a unified toyline) Anything Gundam, anything Star Wars, non MP Transformers released after HFTD/RTS
Does anyone else tend to buy things when they're depressed? I buy things when I'm not feeling bad and enjoy them, of course, but this month has been bad for me and I spent about $500 on random stuff i didn't need or enjoy that much.
>>5851935 believe it or not exercise does wonders for depression, you could always go out and jog - if you have a dog its way better, put on some tunes and get out there and sweat that bitch out. Also, get a hobby - go to an arts course (painting, creative writing, music), anything that gets you out of the house. If you are not seeing anyone, try and go out, lower your standards if you are a wizard / on your way to be a wizard. Yeah, i know they say you can fuck up a person if you're depressed but sometimes the other... Comment too long. Click here to view the full text.

maskmaker anon with some news - I've found a new type of plastic which will likely work very nicely. However, pic related -- I'm may have to buy a proper gas mask (like the kind painters use). Gonna set me back another $30. There's always something else...
BanDai America recent release of their Power Rangers line had me thinking that DBZ could be another line they should make. DBZ is about to celebrate the 20th anniversary of its first US airing and BanDai should be capitalizing on this. DBZ Kai is still airing and soon unfortunately Super will probably hit US TV. Sure SHF are already out there, but honestly the aftermarket prices are horrible and some you have to get a well connected Japanese friend to snag an online exclusive. Do you guys think there's enough interest in such a line? I mean there's a market for $25... Comment too long. Click here to view the full text.
>>5851078 Ah... are you sure? That's kind of scary. I actually got some of the first wave of the GoT figures and they were all fairly solid but felt fragile, but now their newer stuff with Fallout and Skyrim looks pretty bad. I was going to get the two of them and Yasuo so shipping wouldn't hurt so much. I guess I'll continue to wait for some actual images of the product. I wonder why they'd go with Funko of all companies.
Anyone here ever consider consolidating their collection and just displaying a few pieces at a time or do just that? I recently bought my first 1/4 scale figure and now I feel like I own way too much cheap shit. I don't want to get rid of it, but I feel like it just looks tacky and I would put it in storage.
>>5850042 >just displaying a few pieces at a time That's called the Autism Divide.
Autists (i.e. people that collect Marvel Legends, Transformers, and Waifu toys) don't understand that putting all 350 of their toys out on every surface of their living space is a sign of mental illness. In a proper society, doing such would lead to forced sterilization or outright castration of the autist for the good of us all. Instead, we just mock them.
>>5850042 I have a system. depending on what im putting up will depend on how many will be in the space >3,4, or 5 if its small (1/12 or whatever) >1 or 2 if its medium sized (hot toys) >one a single big guy (larger hot toys or 3A stuff)
>>5850042 >I don't want to get rid of it, but I feel like it just looks tacky and I would put it in storage. I do that all the time. Don't know why you'd want to display everything you own in the first place. Not only does it give your figures room to breathe but it also gives you an incentive to cycle through your figures on display depending on your mood.
>>5849865 It's the best Dante we have so far, but that's not saying much. See >>5849875 mine also have purple lips. The face sculpt is atrocious and doesn't look anything like Dante, except for maybe DMC2 edgelord silent meth addict baggy eyed Dante. Articulation wise it's also meh, he cannot dualhand Alastor, and Alastor is a bit too small for his figure. Also the cape is too heavy, causing the knee joints to warp
***GM Group Build*** Rules: Pick an HG GM, and paint and customize it. For it to count as a GM, it literally just has to have GM in the name of the MS on the box, otherwise, no, it doesn't count. As far as customizing it, I'm going to place a limit on that. The limit is 50% additions to the kit. To define 50%, look at it like this, you could take a GM Custom and replace the arms (including shoulders), legs, and backpack and I'd call that 50%. I'm not counting handheld bits in that. Finally have time to work on my PG unicorn. removed the ball joints for the verniers and cut holes to accept IC sockets. The hole in the verniers was a little too big to take the 3mm led directly, but a piece of styrene tubing made them fit perfectly. I'll be gluing the IC sockets in place with some UV curing glue later.

Okay, so I have been waiting for a decent figure of Superman and the DC Icons line caught my attention when they released the figure art for it but the eyes and paint applications was terrible according to critics.
Is there a possible re-issue in the future or am I gonna have to hire a custom painter to make it better?
So this is apparently happening. P-Bandai officially partnering with Buyee, From Japan, and other pages. Has anyone used this yet? Is it limited in the items buyable, or is it a free-for all on pre-orders?
Nah, dude. They even come with instructions for a basic method of solving it. The hard part is solving it fast, but most people are impressed no matter how quick you get it done. You should spend an afternoon learning it some day. Makes for a neat party trick.
Depends on the level of proficiency you want. My little brother likes to speed-solve (I believe his fastest time is around 8 seconds for a 3x3 cube). You can reasonably learn the basic algorithms in just a couple hours, but to then learn quicker methods and gain speed takes a lot of practice. Companies out there make special cubes that are engineered for speed, too. But for a basic solve, it's not horribly difficult.
>>5847436 Variable Action Heroes for articulated, later POPs for statues. S.H Figuarts are and always were garbage, anyone who tells you otherwise is wrong.
If you don't like the VAHs though (which many don't. I personally find them hit and miss) then it's either statues or nothing. I dig my Sabo figure but the Mihawk didn't look very good to me, so I skipped it. Not sure how I feel about Hancock either, it didn't look as good as I'd hoped.
