But funny enough the only things I want besides the rest of the beast deluxes are the masters after everything that's been shown. I didn't think I'd care about them but the upcoming ones look like awesome desk toys.
Oh and tryp looks cool so far. Just hope the articulation is decent.
Not trying to seem insulting, but why do you play with/collect toys? I don't really see the reason if you work towards becoming an artist. I guess it does feel kinda nice to make action figures fuck and can make roleplaying easier, but is there other stuff I'm missing? Because enough literature/art skills seem to make toys pointless to me.
Whats good /toy/'s , fairly new to the community, wondering if you guys ever do trades or meetups in NYC. Got some diamond selects im looking for / willing to part with. pic related: a part of my collection
diecast is shit. Horrible material that doesn't hold paint unless it's gloppy as fuck and even then it can and does chip off. So it looks very dull, as in the paint is always overly thick looking and doesn't carry fine details. Which is why various companies use plastic on parts that are supposed to have fine details.
The only reason companies use diecast at all, is not only because it's cheaper to do than plastic, but because most consumers equate expensive with heavy. Thus, a lot of suckers will pay a premium for heavy shit.

>>5822731 Kinda a shame, Chicagofag here. I've been there a few times and its a kinda cool shop even if not my thing. I've spent maybe like $20-30 there at most since as you said, it mostly is "artsy" vinyl toys. They always have a art gallery, I remember being there in October one year and they had some cool Halloween illustration.
>>5822141 >really want Back to the Future figures >too poor for Hot Toys >only alternative is Funko POP! or Funko reaction Why can't there be a middle ground? Why does it have to be bottom of the barrel or top of the range. Figuarts would be nice, but I'd settle for even Hasbro tier.
Transmetals seems like a good route for 3Psto tackle. The later bW stuff doesn't get much love in Japan, yet the mechanical detailing in the beast modes(and the lack of emphasis the show put on the organic bis in robot mode) probably gives it a good crossover audience with G1 style loving traditionalists.
That said, organic beast mode and all, I think a 3P BW Dinobot would be a decent seller, if Takara doesn't do an MP first.
>>5815957 Literally walk into any Target, Toys R Us or Walmart and they'll have a decent enough selection of Marvel, Transformers, DC, Lego, Megabloks, and other random shit to buy. You'll probably enjoy 98% of what I've listed and in a few short weeks you'll have outgrown every American toyline because you find everything that doesn't have to be shipped from grand Nippon to be utterly worthless and beneath you.
>>5813665 Only got Nagato and Shimikaze, but I will be getting the Iowa figma and I think I will be done. I'm not interested in the source material at all, it's utter garb-o, but the designs are great and figma does them justice.
>>5813436 Plastic sleeve for the card (top loader optional), any form of stand (including just a prop) with some adhesive, and you're done. Or you can do some other stuff with just the card but risk ruining it.
I just received a big box of Ultraman & monster vinyls I had ordered from the HLJ summer sale, I had had them sent registered SAL so I took a while.
I basically got the leftovers of the Ultra Monster X series and a couple of 500 series figures. In hand they're really nicely detailed despite being such simple toys. I wish I had decided to place my order before some of the other kaiju I was eyeing had sold out.
I ended up with 11 kaiju and 3 of ultraman Xs forms, now I'm considering ordering some of the Ultraman Orb stuff, or possibly an X-Diviser so... Comment too long. Click here to view the full text.
