for those things that you can't help but wonder why the fuck they're so expensive.
this isn't for shit like Chogokins that STARTED Expensive and are obviously ALWAYS going to be expensive. this is for stuff that might have been at tops $50-ish at retail, but are suddenly way the fuck too expensive for their own good.
>>5785958 It actually IS that bad, at least in my book. I had more than enough money to afford this, but couldn't justify it due to the fact that it looks like absolute shit.
- Clothes fit very poorly, it looks more like a college kid's shitty Jacket cosplay assembled at Goodwill - Poor selection of fabric, leading to hyper-oversized grain on jeans. Companies like ThreeA learned to circumvent this look with better materials. - Shitty weapons. The sword was bending even in the promo images, the shotgun... Comment too long. I know that a lot of 1/6 scale toys often get bought and parted out on ebay, but is the same common of ThreeA's stuff?
I want the Imago Loop (pistol) that's going to be coming out with two of their three Destiny Hunters but also do not want to spend $190+ on them.
Any options available would be appreciated. If I buy the Warlock, I'm considering offering the Thorn that it comes with to someone for an Imago Loop, but I also don't know where I'd go for that. Kind of out of touch with social toy spaces of late.
>>5786068 ThreeA's actual release dates are nebulous. It's just how they work. Even the times when they do announce a concrete date, it often gets delayed because they have a bad habit of taking on too many projects at once and biting off more than they can chew. So basically, you lay down your money, and the toy will arrive at some point in the future. It's kinda annoying, but they are at least a legit operation, you don't have to worry they'll take your money and run or something.
Yes, ThreeA constantly gets parted out. Dunno if it'll happen with the Destiny stuff as I think it'll be worth more as a single unit. But ThreeA's community has a decent amount of customizers that buy parts or sell parts. I used to buy full figures for a couple pieces I wanted and parted out the rest. Usually made my money back. :)

I have a few questions for people who are probably more knowledgeable than myself. I already know all the stuff about avoiding heat, humidity and sun exposure but how about storing toys? Is there any rules I need to take into consideration?
I have too many toys in my collection and my place is super small so I have to rotate stuff out but some stuff i've left in boxes for years. Is that a problem? Should I just open them up every now and then or do they need to be removed entirely for prolonged periods of time?
Also, when storing toys in their original boxes... Comment too long. Click here to view the full text.
You may want to take them out once in a while to avoid possible paint transfer on the clamshells if necessary (which is why some figures have plastic wrapping, like SAS). And in some areas, move the joint avoid paint getting stuck inside the joints. This also applies to out-of-box figures, but it's something that's only an issue if it hasn't been touched in a long time.
A lot of people say that plasticizers may leak/may leak after after they've been stored in their boxes for a long time, but I have no experience with that personally so I can't... Comment too long. Click here to view the full text.
>>5780016 i happened last year, it was a little game/simulator of submiting like 27-30 pics of different characters and put them in a free-for-all battle with events happening at random each "day" (not real life days, just simulated), it was stuff like "X character collected food" or "character Y kills character Z with a stcik on his ass". they were also events where everyone was endangered as well, and usually many of the characters died when that happened. it got really out of hand in almost... ***GM Group Build*** Rules: Pick an HG GM, and paint and customize it. For it to count as a GM, it literally just has to have GM in the name of the MS on the box, otherwise, no, it doesn't count. As far as customizing it, I'm going to place a limit on that. The limit is 50% additions to the kit. To define 50%, look at it like this, you could take a GM Custom and replace the arms (including shoulders), legs, and backpack and I'd call that... Comment too long. Click here to view the full text.
you could but unless you had a crazy expensive one it'd be pretty lacking in detail and have pretty clear layers of plastic. You could sand it down and stuff from there, but currently it's not worth it. You'd be better off just sculpting one yourself really.

>>5772041 >$35 No way, figure is worth no more than MSRP ($20). It's not even that great in terms of articulation or accessories.
I love Legends, but sometimes Hasbro just gets lazy with re-use and limiting articulation for no reason. It's a weird relationship, like they can get so close yet so far away. Check out this thread >>5764247
Legends are usually okay. Some are terrible and some are pretty good, but the majority are okay and are mostly just acceptable because nothing else in the scale is probably gonna be released of that character.
That figure's body is kind of shit but I got it anyway because I really like Spider-Gwen. But if you only have a passing interest in her I wouldn't bother. And definitely don't pay more than a few dollars over MSRP. $35 is ridiculous.
I know this is probably a stupid question but does indoor lighting make resin yellow? I just got my first bjd in 5+ years and have her on display in my room and am really worried about her yellowing (Her skintone is peachy and will not look very good if yellowed a lot) I try to keep her in a spot that's out of the sunlight but there's no real space for her that won't be hit by sun at some point in the day.
Wave 1.75 Incoming Edition: So the next wave is slowly coming out and the reaction has been overwhelmingly underwhelming. There have been a lot of nice ideas going on, but not many have really been "wowed" yet, as it were. Personally, I'm all in, but who really cares about that?
We still have the Black Knight, possible "Forsaken" Knight and whatever has a green skeleton head to look forward to though.

Hey guys. I have a buck rogers utility belt in similar condition to the picture. Not mint but definitely not bad for the age. Any idea on value? see them on ebay for $150+ but I live in New Zealand, things like this are a lot harder to come by.
Let's see them space ships. Doesn't have to be star wars. I got this a month back and a pack of astromech droids to go in there. I'm looking for some good looking Clones to put in the cockpit or Clone pilots if anyone has suggestions.
