Sup everyone. I'm fairly new to figure collecting, only having begun last summer. Over that time I have come into possession of two figures from Medicom's Real Action Heroes line: Annie Leonhardt and Rei Q.
Somethings been in my mind though. What's the best way, short of keeping them boxed, of taking care of and maintaining these figures? I specifically want to know if you guys have any tips for maintaining their clothes. I prefer to take my figures oUT of their boxes and pose them, but I'm afraid that poses where the arms (with Rei and Annie) or... Comment too long. Click here to view the full text.
>>5320264 There are just some absolutes and inevitabilities in toy collecting that you need to accept. Fabric outfits fray, diecast joints weaken, white paint yellows, direct sunlight damages everything, rubber cracks, and glues lose adhesive quality- those are the big ones. The best way to preserve a figure with cloth materials is to just set it and forget it in a vanilla pose, not futzing with it ever. That's really the only way to get around the inevitability of it all, or at least to impede the process as much as possible.... Comment too long. Click here to view the full text.
Man coming from doll collecting what are you guys doing with your clothed figures that is fucking them up so badly? I've had dolls in outfits displayed for years and the clothing is just fine. Are doll clothes just inherently tougher or what?
What the fuck is up with sold out preorders? Pic related doesn't even get released until Apr. Doesn't the preorder system give them a better idea how much shit to make? Am I missing something. bizness jewanons, pls help me understand.
Why? He's recognizable world wide and not copyrighted, not anymore to my knowledge. I know there are figures of specific iterations of Santa, but I'm talking about plain old Santa. I would love to pose a Santa giving my other figures gifts
>>5319351 I think this concept is more niche than you might expect. Who would buy this Santa figure? Mostly just a few nerds who want to pose it giving gifts to their other toys. It'd bomb at retail I think, kids wouldn't see the appeal and adults would likely prefer less articulated, more charming looking ornaments or statues of good ol' Saint Nick.
I say settle for this cute little fella, or one of the other "franchise" Santa toys out there. It's as good as you're gonna get. Or y'know,... Comment too long. Click here to view the full text.
This I guess technically counts, but I just think itd be cool if there was a fully sculpted and highly articulated Santa like a figuarts with a bunch of different hands and accessories. Not this retro styled figure....
I want to buy this off of Aliexpress ($25 free shipping), but I've never shopped there before and was wondering how legit and reliable it is. I know it's a knock off so I'm not worried about that, but the fact that it's a China based company has me very skeptical about whether they'll actually ship my order. I could order it on ebay, but it's a bit more expensive and it's also from China, but at least with ebay I know I'll get the full price back should something happen.
>TL;DR - Aliexpress. Scam? not a Scam?... Comment too long. Click here to view the full text.
>>5319347 Aliexpress is pretty legit, they have pretty decent buyer protection so you don't have to worry. I use them for everything and I haven't had any trouble with getting my money back if something didn't arrive.
Though the only thing you should know is that if a price is too good for something its obviously going to be a knock off, legit things sold on aliexpress are usually more than retail so its a good way to judge if something is a KO or not.
>>5319388 >Aliexpress is pretty legit, they have pretty decent buyer protection so you don't have to worry. That seems to be the case, but I've seen a bunch of complaints on Google that they only got partial refunds or no refund at all. They could just be idiots that bought from brand new sellers
