For sculpting on figures: use 2-part epoxy putty like Aves apoxie or fixit.
For tools: try a basic carving/sculpting set like the kind arts & crafts stores have, and calipers for symmetry. Dental tools have also been said to work well. Also, using a Dremel is recommended. Minimites (the small $20-25 ones) are fine for starting out, but the battery life is poor. Upgrade to a corded

Are there any good toys of Mazinger that actually have the blue arms and legs with white limbs? Most of the ones made recently are all black with chrome, but the OG colors have always been my favorite.
So what's the best one around? I'm sure there's a ton of special edition SRCs and SOCs I don't know about.
>>5744260 Had the american red one, trashed it all to hell. My grandma got me this one at china town when we went, I was young as hell. It comes in a bigger box with the base. About two years ago when she sold her house and moved out, I found it still in the box, still in the bag.
Does /toy/ know where I could get cheap plastic versions of classical pieces of art? The scale isn't important to me, but I'm looking to chop them up and use them in a sort-of post apocalyptic diorama.

I have a ton of opened lego sets (star wars, indiana Jones, etc) that I want to sell. Can I make money of these sets if I have the box, manual, and all the pieces in good condition? Is there a good place to sell them?
If you're fine with displaying things in the box and never actually playing the thing, go ahead and display it MISB.
If you aren't, then either resell it or open it. There's no reason to keep it MISB otherwise. >save it ...For what exactly? For her price to go up even further so you can resell it? There's always a limit to how much people are willing to pay for something, and there's always the small chance of something getting reissued.
Buy 2. One to keep MISB, the other to open and enjoy. That's what I sometimes do.
Spoiler: I doubt selling all the MISB stuff I've collected will amount to much $$$. But that's okay for me. The main reason I like MISB is because sometimes the packaging is fantastic. Opening a box isn't that bad, but things on card can't be opened so neatly.
what do you guys think about todd mcfarlane toys? i'm a big spawn fan and love most of the series and the attention to detail that mcfarlane's company puts into the figures i don't see that much discussion about his products here
>>5742080 >That's mostly because there aren't a lot of adults here and aren't allowed to watch the shows his toys are made from. More like the fact that Spawn and other series haven't been relevant in years and there's nothing nowadays that's being made. Not to mention that there's barely anything being made, and if there is it's typically a statue.
I'd love to get modern figures that are actually well articulated. Maybe they can do a Kickstarter... Comment too long. Click here to view the full text.
There was a point where McFarlane Toys was by far the best toy company in the world, and they were a big influence on a lot of the companies that are great nowadays that have sort of carried on that old torch, but modern day McFarlane Toys stuff is all shit. So that's kind of why it doesn't get discussed much on here, because most of the discussion is about new stuff that's coming out, and most of us only liked McFarlane back in their heyday.
>>5740015 speaking of that fucker, does anyone know where I can get new rubber tires for mine? My Optimus Prime from that set had some shitty quality tires and they rotted the fuck off within a year. Mine has been without tires for 14 or so years now... I'd like some new ones, plastic, rubber, whatever really.
>>5740015 >how long until this fucker gets some love? Was it worth getting Starsaber instead?
The same designer who handled the Fanvote MP designed that Omega Prime figure in the first place. Besides, its already near perfect, and the toy looks way cooler than the animé model they'd try and base it off of.

***GM Group Build*** Rules: Pick an HG GM, and paint and customize it. For it to count as a GM, it literally just has to have GM in the name on the box, otherwise, no, it doesn't count. As far as customizing it, I'm going to place a limit on that. The limit is 50% additions to the kit. To define 50%, look at it like this, you could take a GM Custom and replace the arms (including shoulders), legs, and backpack and I'd call that 50%. I'm not counting handheld bits in that. So true to being Mattel, they released the first batch of their halo line without making a single mention about the line ever since they announced it back in Toy Fair. So far looks like the Elite and Ghost is the only thing from the 6 inch Halo 'Collector' Series, while the rest of the releases were the six or so 12 inch figures and the 12 inch scaled Warthog and Chief. Also the Boomco Brute Spiker appears to have been released. Really hard finding any sort of reviews on these, anyone else seen these or have them yet?
>>5728394 >>5728328 just discovered a review on halo toy news. http://www.halotoynews.com/2016/06/10/mattel-halo-ghost-vehicle-elite-officer-review-photos/
One of the biggest cons to me is that apparently the elite is measured to exactly, so when Mattel says a six inch figure line, they don't mean it is six inch scaled. Would also explain why the carbine seems a little too large for him if the weapons were made primarily to scale with the spartans instead of the... Comment too long. Click here to view the full text.
>>5728415 here is the Helioskrill exclusive. It will cost $25, for something that is essentially the most minimal repaint you could get from the retail version shown at Toy Fair. Just blue painted visor and detailings with a pistol and special skin variant of the assault rifle.
