gonna try again but with LOSS added to the mix
should be better than before since LOSS has that nice chunk of technic body
They used MNOG as an inspiration, hopefully we get more than the mobile game soon.
Also I hope if Ekimu is awakened in Summer that he makes more masks for the Villagers, that way we can start seeing some variations.
Can anyone tell me what happend in the story after stars? I mean, from the movie and the legends sets, I got that mata nui built up a new giant body, but I don't know anything else after that.
Mata Nui put together the prototype giant robot the great beings made, Makuta landed on the planet, they fought, Makuta took a moon to the face, the day was won.
Its best not to think about the post - 08 storyline
then...a lot of bullshit.
>Velika, the Po-matoran from Voya Nui, turned out to be a Great Being in disguise
>Kopaka and Pohatu start to solve a murder mystery and meet the clusterfuck combiner that was the center of the "Who am I?" contest
>Lewa gets kidnapped by spear-chucking primitives (whether or not he then joined the Lantern Corps was never seen)
>some B-Team Toa and Ackar went on a nondescript mission
none of these cringe-inducing stories was ever finished.
Honestly I don't get how they transitioned Makuta from some evil spirit of shadows to "MY MASTER KEIKAKU EVERYTHING WAS PLANNED"
So was he pretending to be retarded when he started grabbing those pillars when fighting Vakama? He just seems so brutish and overconfident to be a master planner in the movies and beginning of the story.
"It was part of my plan to fuse with takanuva by playing kohlii, totally."
I think Makuta was actually a massive retard who accidentally caused the great catclysm by knocking something over and made shit up as he went along.
Comics, bionicle serial website, I think a novel, bionicle website itself.
Read it all up on bioniclesector01
nah, see, that's just it, Makuta Teridax always plans for the long term, but never for the short term, so everything he does in the now that doesn't relate to his long term goals comes of as childish and brutish, because that pretty much all he is mentally, a child and a brute. He just happens to have some totes rad foresight skills.
The mask definitely has its own personality
He remembers when matoro sacrificed himself which inspired him to become a toa himself
Correct me if I'm wrong though, I think his consciousness died when he sacrificed himself however, allowing mata-nui to enter the mask instead
I guess it makes more sense like that
Separate beings. The mask itself had its own consciousness. Toa ignika was a body it made for itself or if seaweed in karda nui, "toa" Mata nun was a body it made for Mata nui out of sand.
Mata nui didn't unlock the elemental powers, it was ignika.
They were completely different folks.
The Ignika was designed to be sentient, capable of focusing and using its own power to keep itself out of the wrong hands. When Matoro used it and went Anhero, it was completely shaken and wanted to know what it was like to be a hero as well. It made itself a body and a sweet ride out of swamp crap to join the Toa Nuva and help them out. Its personality was naive and childish, and had the highest bodycount of any toa.
When Mata Nui's kernel was shunted into the Ignika, the two entities' programming came to blows. Mata Nui effectively killed the Toa Nuva's "liddle buddy" and became the sole inhabitant of the Mask of Life.
I always assumed ignika and mata nui were the same being in the way jesus and god are supposed to be the same being or some shit, ignika being the personality and powers of mata-nui, but none of the memories or experience.
why is it called a universe? It's just a collection of biodomes. I mean, sure, for the matoran's intended purpose, it would mean "the universe" to them, but is it not more accurate to say the great spirit robot now that we know better?
nah screw it Imma pretend LOSS is this world's Roodaka or something
looks like undead abomination from warcraft 3 too
to keep them from doing things when they shouldn't, sort of a multipurpose on-off switch combined with a settings dial. The matoran would only do what they wanted, when they wanted. It'd be dark if the matoran weren't so fanatically supportive of it.
I guess that's fair. Is it ever explained what is done with the remains of the two spirit robots once the fight between them was finished?
I'm watching Legend Reborn for the first time and it's so weird to hear them say Mata Nui so casually and having Jesus arrive in the middle of Mad Max and having him being an autist.
I fell out of Bionicle after the Wave 1 Phantoka so whenever I hear people talking about post-Phantoka it's all so strange.
is it just me or is 2015 Tahu a pain in the ass to pose
Can we talk about how FUCKED the whole "Legend of Mata Nui" was?
Like, it was a false history that the Turaga made specifically to deceive the Matoran.
This isn't a retcon, either, IT WAS INTENDED TO BE A LIE FROM THE START.
That bitchin' animation that entranced us when we were kids? That spoke of some grand and mysterious history that the Island of Mata Nui held?
ALL. DAMN. LIES.
>Gear functions that don't impair poseability
>Yellow gears so kids know to turn it
>Simple, yet fun to build
>Solid, well built designs
>Adrenaline mode for more action-oriented play
>Masks easily pop off, but are still sturdy enough that they stay on
>Enemy already included with each set
>Gold mask included with each Toa
>Protector's launchers work well and have easily accessible ammo
>Toa and Protector can combine for ultra battle mode
>Story already has all sorts of easter eggs/clues for people to pick apart
Lego really went all-out with this reboot.
So I made this guy out of Toa and Protector parts.
GODDAMMIT BLACK 6
THIS IS THE 4TH YEAR IN A ROW YOU'VE CHARGED ME FOR PREMIERSHIP
I DID IT ONCE AFTER YOU CHANGED THE SITE FOR OLD TIMES SAKE, BUT THIS IS STUPID.
I'M NOT EVEN GETTING THE STUPID BENEFITS, SO YOU'RE LITERALLY STEALING MONEY FROM ME
Is it me or is Protector of Earth the only smart Protector? I'm looking at all the Toa's "power-up" forms, they're all basically the Protectors giving up their weapon to the Toa, which leaves them defenseless, except for Protector of Earth, if any of the other Protectors get jumped by spiders or other bad guys while the Toa aren't nearby they're basically screwed. Come to think of it this also makes Onua the only Toa without a ranged weapon since the others get shooters from their respective Protectors. Maybe if PoE's shooter wasn't part of his torso he'd give it to Onua too.
Onua is the best new toa
Is there only 1 LoSS? All the little animations showing the Toa finding their golden mask have the LoSS there to fight them, does the LoSS just get around that fast or is there maybe multiples, one guarding each golden mask?
I tried last year. I hadn't noticed that he had been charging me yearly ever since my last purchase in 2011. I contacted him about it, and he said he wanted some ids or something, and I just never replied because again, I liked BZpower for a long time, and thought whatever, it wasn't that much money. But now that it's happening again, it's not cool.
This would be interesting, really. The Toa face the Lord of Skull Spiders at their Golden Mask shrine-thing, and when they go to the ruins, they see it go to the Golden Skull Spider mask, and they think it's the tool for controlling all of the Skull Spiders, when, in reality, the mask was giving orders to that LOSS and that there's multiples to relay its commands.
the golden mask of shadow spiders is, in fact, a legit mask of power, with the ability to manipulate the smaller mask spiders and to sense through their senses, basically the mask of hivemind.
It is in fact through the mask that the LOSS controls the lesser spiders, not through its own natural powers.
LOSS.jpg is the easy crunchtime villain to showcase the toa powers, the real villains next wave will pose a challenge
You don't even know what she look like foo
Yo that's fucked up Mata Nui, shoulda just killed him.
I agree, although am not a big fan of the lack of substantial villains, nor the apparent silver/gunmetal curse all the Toa seem to be suffering from.
My main fear though is that LEGO will think that they did good here and thus will just rinse and repeat for three years.
The Protectors are inexpensive and have new shooters that don't use specialized ammo, just regular 1x1 studs, the Toa come at 2 price points and feature gear activated movement in one or both arms just like the original 2001 toys and come with their normal and gold masks, the only set that's kind of iffy is the actual villain set, the Lord of Skull Spiders, which while a neat set is pretty small for something that's supposed to be threatening to the Toa. All the Toa and Protectors come with a little skull spider so there's something for them to fight if that's important.
If the old trends hold true, then we'll be getting more begreebled parts as the theme progresses. In this day and age, the 20+ new molds we got is nothing to sneeze at, and we'll likely get more and more specialized shells with each wave.
Bought some duplicates purely for the purpose of MOCcing them and I really like how it turned out. It's kind of a blaster-staff
The Vahki and Visorak came out at the same time as there toa, it just depended where you lived on who you got first.
And the Barraki came before the Marhi. How can you not remember the screamer previews for 2007?
Also don't forget the villains we got in the first waves of 2008 and 2009, which were way better than LoSS.
But it also turns into a pickaxe for those close encounters!
>How can you not remember the screamer previews for 2007?
Yeah, I noticed the spiders were a little lack luster. Hope there's something bigger along the line some time soon. Still thinking about getting the lord of skull spiders. I noticed the shooters too, thought they were super neat.
>Yfw we get belt-fed stud launchers in 2016
do the new stud shooters count? they seem to have good distance, are compact and can also do rapid fire, and the ammo is easy to get, although I suppose some colors may be harder to find than others.
Otherwise I agree that zamor spheres are pretty good, they still use those orbs as ammo in some system sets.
I tried it last night. The longer the object, the harder it is for it to stay in place. I think anything over three studs tall has trouble not getting knocked around. I tried six and couldn't even get them all in without them popping off.
Endless day five+3
Tried changing, and simply switching back and forth between today and tomorrow will reset the Endless unlock clock. Got four pieces besides the one I got 12 hours ago for today.
Pic related. What are your high scores, /biog/?
Didn't screenshot when I got mine as Tahu, so I just went and played one to get it.
Anyone a bad enough dude to beat my 1,700,000?
>running through bricklink inventories
>some sellers only have zamor spheres in their bionicle lots
>one has over 600
>The spring-loaded projectiles with rounded rubber tips, also featured in past Technic sets
>Those shitty little discs from Metru Nui and previously those Slizers with those arms
>The flying discs
>The sphere launchers that later had extended magazines
>The stud shooters
Am I missing anything?
I need more villains for my toa to fight. Is Toxic Reapa as good as he looks?
Toxic Reapa is one of my favorite hero factory villains, a lot of the villains from the Breakout wave would fit in with Bionicle without looking too out of place, and also the villains from the Jungle Planet wave since they're basically all various animals. In fact the giant scorpion and witch doctor could work as titans for the current Bionicle story, instead of LoSS, the Witch Doctor could be the one controlling the skull spiders.
Decent but temperamental. Kinda bulky and a little to heavy, but looks cool.
Super effective, but really large and heavy. Also feels the least like a LEGO launcher.
Not so much a launcher as a bomb dropping mechanism. They look really cool just as is though, and were a fun mechanism.
Kinda shite but looked interesting.
Not great, but okay. LEGO kinda spammed them in HF so they got old really quickly.
If you're talking projectile launchers in general, aside from >>4626978 there's:
>Pirates cannon that shoots 1x1 round bricks
>flick fire missiles
>large brickbuilt catapults
>1x4 brick with pressure-launched missiles
>minifig-held stud shooters
>2015 minifig super jumpers
>collapsible brickbuilt walls (ie. exploding wall in LotR Helm's Deep)
And BIONICLE builds that technically count as projectile launchers:
>Krana-launching Bohrok faceplates
>Kraata-launching Rahkshi backs
>finger-propelled Visorak (and later HF jumper beasts)
>mask-launching 2015 heads
i figgered you guys would like this. or not idk its just something i found.
So just from a Technic/Bangle perspective, there's
>RoboRider Wheel Tosser
less launcher, more wheel-catapult
Spring-loaded arm action, guaranteed to lose your disks behind a nearby couch
>Technic missile launcher/"Blunt Shooter"
Cool, but the springs were BuzzBee'd toward the end
>Bohrok Krana Launcher
Parasitic face-raper. Nuff said
The Matoran editions were plentiful and definitely a step up from the McToran ways, but the Vahki jaws were weaksauce
Great in terms of distance and noise factor (whizzzZZZZZZZZZZ!), but were fuckall hard to aim
fuckin' instant classic.
more like a doofy crossbow ring/dog poop inclusion combo-pack.
fuckin' neato, but the projectiles were easy as tits to lose.
the repeating rifle to the Zamor's blunderbuss...with all the same drawbacks.
Neato in concept, lame in execution
2edgy name with lots of x's or z's? Check.
infinite rehashability? Check.
Actually functions as a fun launcher? NOPE.
>rapid stud shooters
easy ammo and customization of the Zamor launcher, but in a sleek and compact package.
I like squid launchers. Shots weren't the best, but getting what is essentially Rahi used as ammo? Priceless.
>UGH WHAT A TOXIC AND FRANKLY GROSS AND PROBLEMATIC COMMUNITY
Oh dear why don't 8 year olds try to understand the problem of diversity in the story oh dear fucking toxic 8 year olds, all they want to do is play with their shiny robots instead of discussing diversity ugh!
Why don't they understand that children do not know shit about sexuality and it's broadened themes?
>Shots weren't the best
Are you telling me that you actually managed to fire one of those things?
But yeah the concept behind them had many keks, especially how all the other barraki were creeped out by Kalmahs obsession with the squid.
How much is shipping generally when purchasing from a place in europe? I was gonna purchase some sets but I was worried about the shipping costs since I am in australia and there were no clear guides on how to calculate the shipping costs. (Or I just really suck at this shit)
Different people charge different amounts. Best is to mail the guy and ask him.
Don't know where in Europe your seller is located, but just so you know shipping in Europe is pretty expensive.
I only want the toa mata anyway, no more old sets after that
Too bad I have been waiting on my order of them since december
Fuckin canada shipping I bet
>tfw The only money I will get this year is my college grants, so I have to either buy everything I want in one blowout, or try and save it and buy small things throughout the year
Something we need is for a drawfag to do a pic of ahkmou or metus doing the thing in pic related
Is there any good read on Bionicle Lore?
I played with the toys back in the day but I never got into the lore, I got back when I saw Tahu in the store the other day but now I wanna learn about the old lore, it sounds really cool but I feel that I can't grasp it, the first ones are the oldest and most of the other sets are prequel stuff or what?
Most of the books (and honestly most of the actually good stuff) is linked to in the OP.
The breakdown is as follows:
>BIONICLE Chronicles - four books in chronological order
>BIONICLE: Mask of Light - one book, occurs directly after Chronicles (adaptation of a movie you don't need to see)
>BIONICLE Adventures - ten books set 100 years and a few months before the events in BIONICLE Chronicles, the prologues/epilogues to each of them will require knowledge of the characters and events in Chronicles
>BIONICLE Legends - eleven books set shortly after Mask of Light, following the story all the way until the end of the supposed "first story" of the cancelled BIONICLE G1.
>local stores don't have new Bonkles yet, they may get them om Thursday, but that isn't certain
>shipping from Lego's online shop takes about 5 days
>game constantly crashes in BlueStacks, so can't even play that
Life is suffering.
Wait, what. This is actually news to me. How is that even possible? More importantly, why? Why have little islands inside of spherical cavities inside of a giant fucking astronomy robot? Weren't the Matoran supposed to supposed to be maintenance nanomachines? If that's still the case, there's no point to the islands because they wouldn't even know the difference if the great beings just dropped them inside the robot. How do they even do their job? How is the Red Star visible anywhere outside Metru Nui, or for that matter, outside the GSR? Is it outside the GSR? If that's the case, how is it visible from inside the GSR?
Slightly different gripe, but what was the point of masks and elemental powers if they were just nanomachines? It was some kind of accident, right? I can't imagine too many instances where those would help with keeping a giant robot functioning, or why the great beings would go out of their way to design something like that.
Maybe it was visible through the two sun eye holes at night
Actually I don't recall a section where someone saw the red star inside the universe
Your points aside, I'm amused that your biggest gripe about BIONICLE lore is one of the few things that was decided before the line even launched.
seriously what the fuck is wrong with these people
I read a post about how the original series was apparently problematic because the female characters were pretty much all water-themed, which is typical for this sort of thing.
It's a goddamn toy line about robots
I bet these are the same kind of people that assigned sexualities to fn@f animatronics
In MNOG there were a bunch of onu-matoran miners who stated they could not dig any further because the metal in the ground was impenetrable, a sneaky reference to the face of mata nui underneath the island
So Makuta's lair was actually inside the robot?
And speaking of the robot, what was the deal with Voya Nui and Pit? Did Voya make it all the way to the surface after the cataclysm or did it just stay in limbo somewhere between top and bottom?
Nah, the giant robot blew my goddamn mind back in 2008, and I still think it's a cool twist that was rarely alluded to, even if a little over-thought and under-thought in a few areas. I just assumed that the islands were all naturally formed on top of the robit, and that there were plenty of passages to equivalents of Mangaia on each one like on Mata Nui.
Why even create the Bohrok if it's just one island that needed to be destroyed?
That was pretty much the one thing Greg wrote that I will vehemently declare not canon. What a load of fucking shit that was. So every single death that has ever occurred in the series no longer has any weight, because they're all just upstairs and waiting to be respawned? What a load of bullshit.
Makes you think how early on they decided the Matoran are Bohrok-thing.
And it makes Boxor extra creepy. Nuparu just ripped apart former Matoran and made a kickass tank out of it.
There is this, but im sure there is a more detailed image out there
Greg pretty much forgot Makuta had the Mask of Shadows and decided to give him the Mask of the Everything-Proof Shield. Ever since about 2004 he started acting like the most obnoxious kid on a playground.
"NOOOO, UH, ACTUALLY I SURVIVE BECAUSE I KNEW YOU WERE GOING TO DO THAT!"
"NUH-UH, DOESN'T WORK ON ME BECAUSE I NOW HAVE THIS POWER WHICH BLOCKS YOU!"
"HAHA, SORRY BUT NO, THAT'S NOT GOING TO EFFECT ME BECAUSE I'M TOO STRONG FOR YOU!"
I do wonder though, why would they need to clean the island if Mata Nui just breaks through that shit anyway?
It's funny. The whole story reminds me a lot of mythological and religious texts. Some really strange shit going on at times, some things that just make little to no sense and quite a lot of internal inconsistencies, but it still makes for an interesting story.
The vaporized karda nui makuta couldn't go to heave- er, red star because the spirit also got vaporized :^)
Teridax got his head fucking caved in and was the spirit of the giant robot so he can get fucked
My theory is that everything that isn't retracted into the robot has to be removed because actual future inhabitants of the planet could just so happen to investigate that area of the sea floor and find remains of tons of strange plants, structures and artifacts. If the island is blank before it breaks apart, all that is left behind is a big pile of earth.
Voya Nui floated all the way from Great Spirit Robot's lower chest to surface-level Aqua Magna, where the Mata Nui island was.
The Pit was on Aqua Magna itself, rather than inside the robot.
The quality of makuta in the movies and book is inconsistent
You have movie "lets not use all my powers and play around with vakama by grabbing large rocks for fun lel" makuta and then you have the time trap makuta who wants to get shit done but Vakama won't let him because Vakama actually got cool for once
Toxic Reapa was pretty cool, and I'm kinda disappointed I never got him. I admit, I have a little bit of a boner for Bionicle and Hero Factory sets that can use either Technic or CCBS with System. Like Kongu Mahri as well.
He was weird in the cartoon though. Apparently a hero committing infanticide is alright when they're villains.
>Tfw the Mata Nui Rising video was released on my birthday
The early Bionicle years had a thing for that. First Nuparu ripped people apart to build a tank, then Takanuva came in, murdered all of Makuta's children and then turned their corpses into a bike which he used to ram through the guy's front door.
He just could not give a fuck.
So I just finished reading all of the Legends books, and I'm still trying to get over a few things. Firstly, this:
>"Onua readied his Midak Skyblaster - and then discovered to his surprise that his weapon was no longer a skyblaster. It had morphed into something resembling Bitil's launcher."
What the fuck? Why did the Mistika trio randomly have their blasters transformed like that? Is this explained in the serials or something?
Another unexplained thing was the Av-Matoran having a telepathic link with the Phantoka trio when riding on their backs. Not only was it unimportant, it too was also never explained.
Next is the Toa stumbling on a group of Av-Matoran transforming into Bohrok. Once again, what the fuck? Was that necessary? It just felt like Greg was trying to make every itty bit as grimdark as possible.
Lastly, why did the Toa Nuva reawaken Mata Nui even after the realised it was all part of the Makutas keikaku? And why did the Makuta pretend to try to kill them?
The blasters were part of the adaptive armor, and they adapted.
The whole mental link was a big deal in promotional stuff
We've been over Bohrok in this very thread
THE WHOLE STORY starting from 2001 was about reawakening Mata Nui.
>Makes you think how early on they decided the Matoran are Bohrok-thing.
Very. -Very- early.
Pretty much, yeah.
Does anyone know the reason for the Phantoka powering-up besides "buy more toys"? Was it because they wanted to allow the canisters to carry the matoran, because the matoran already have jetpacks/batwings.
This guy is called kama-nui
He was the second brother of mata nui who was not given a robot
He possesses all mask powers including life, and his tentacle and asorb u on touch
do it for the order of mata nui, toa goys
this guy here is a bohrok vet, from the first wave that went head to head with the toas.
he was a pussy, lost half of his body and retreated.
but because he was the only one to survive, he was greeted as a war hero, and is now a bohrok master tactician.
the catch is, he thinks the toas fight all the time like he saw them fight in the encounter he had, so he just keeps sending troops to slaughter.
the blue guy is his biggest fan and his servant.
Good work anon
I love new OC, we need more bonkle OC in this thread
>toa goyim, toa of magnetism
>he lived on a small island where small matoran coins were used to buy items
>somehow he always had more coins then he was paid too
>it was said that it was futile to search for coins around the area, as the toa had already made sure every single penny was his
They just wanted kids to buy both the canister sets and the Matoran ones too. They figured the best way to make them do this was to have the Toa and Makuta give everyone piggy backs. I thought it was sweet.
My headcanon is that Gavla would occasionally ask Vamprah to do a loop-de-loop in her own tsundere way. Vamprah would oblige, not saying anything.
>Haven't seen the last movie though.
Don't even bother. Also, doubt we're getting a movie anytime soon, even though the lore seems thin enough that it could be presented as a movie without losing much stuff, like with the rest which left out or failed to explain tons of things.
Bought Queen Beast on clearance and revamped her into the Queen of Skull Spiders.
>True ruler of the Skull Spiders
>LoSS is just a deceitful brute
>Stole the GMoSS from one of Makuta's abandoned forges, which was originally a gift to her majesty
>Traps QoSS within a tomb, and takes control of her horde
>Upon the Toa defeating the LoSS and making their way to the ancient city, they accidentally free her
>She promises to let them pass if they give her the GMoSS
>Tahu, Kopaka and Pohatu want to rek her shit
>Onua gives her the mask against their wishes
>She casts it into a river of lava beneath them (on a bridge or something)
>She goes back to ruling her kingdom within the interim between Okoto and the ancient city
Something like that. We just have no backstory on the horde and highly doubt we will anyways. LoSS just doesn't cut if for me as the "big bad" of the spiders. Potato quality because of IPod.
this is a great thread.
>not deciding to immediately get kopaka and make him ski in the snow
how well do bonkles react to snow btw? I have never touched snow in my life as an australian pohatu outback person
>solid water and shit
>water and shit
Dude, where the fuck do you live? Detroit?
Silver bohrok eyes.
Each bohrok i revamped has around 14 of those fuckers.
>This might sound like trolling, but I'm interested in knowing how many of these can actually be built (with part/color combinations that really exist).
Do these retards even know what trolling is
No but your creation is THE WRONG COLOUR CHANGE IT
Does anyone revamp the transformation of the Bohrok
Like, instead of just adding a bunch of bells and whistles, make it so in non-ball form they look like lizard like
We need to start making more reaction images out of comics
I've always liked the imagery of the Toa putting their collected Krana on strings. Did anyone here ever do that with their Mata and Krana packs?
The shitty art style we were given for the 06-07 comics because Lego hired a new illustrator.
The artist didn't remove the chest armor, he was basing the art off the prototype sets that simply didn't have it.
Anyway, yeah, D'Anda was fucking based, his run on the comics was my favorite art-wise.
I have actually lost/broken most of these parts, so I'm not just lying for free shit. I did have to make up some bad excuses as to what really happened, since "I was fiddling around with it and the piece went flying/snapped like a goddamn twig and oh God I can't find it now" isn't a legit reason to ask for replacements.
Still, you shouldn't be asking for free shit because you're an idiot. The Gatling gun makes sense but lying about the others because you're a poorfag is deplorable. Bricklink and stop being a chump.
By our logic lego owes me replacements for all my lime and Glatorian ball sockets. Jesus Christ.
Well lego DEFINITELY owes me a few lesovikk hands if you know what I mean
He had a villain moment and wanted to kill Mata Nui's friends in front of him just becuz, so he started messing up the gravity of the planet. To do this, he had to wave his arms around and strike a dramatic pose, which gave Mata Nui an opening to jump at him and shove him into the moon.
I like how this video does it. In fact I think this is my favourite look for the Mata Toa in general, perfect amount of bio to the mechanical if you include the Pohatu arriving video.
One thing i don't like about that art is that it gives Lewa, Kopaka and Tahu their set arms instead of the two pronged hands likes it's decribed they have for both in the books.
apparently they fucked up the batch of lime plastic in 2007.
2008 and onwards weren't fragile in terms of plastic quality - most breaks happened due to then new dogshit socket design.
So why didn't the Onu-Matoran ask one of the Toa to clear the water out of the great mine? It seems like it would be an important thing to get fixed, and could probably be accomplished fairly well with the peacetime provided between the Kal and the Rahkshi
To be fair, the books came later and the art already took small liberties with the set design, which apparently LEGO didn't like 'cause they asked the next artist to stick as close to the toys as possible.
>perfect amount of bio to the mechanical
I think so too. Vrahno's designs are good.
I gotta say though that of all the slight changes he made in the designs, it's this bit that irks me. Pohatu's flesh neck is just.. incredibly unsettling to me. It looks so easy to rupture, I feel like it would've been better if there was just some flesh wrapped around the pieces like he did for the limbs.
It'd certainly be possible, and if I do maybe four clock-resets a day or more I'd have them all unlocked by February (in time for when the sets get here..).
Anyone on Android tried doing the thing I did with switching between today and tomorrow repeatedly?
It is kind of 2:55 AM over here
If no one is gonna do it when I slumber, I will be up to do it all day tomorrow
>tfw no work shifts this week
Yo its really easy. Its a lego camera, which is connected to one of those pins to on one side you can attach those small studs to. I placed that into the eye socket.
But that does mean that the other eye must be connected with a 3 long axle. That eye is also more likely to fall out.
And the camera can move freely with something like the mandibles which keep it straight..
Hope that made sense.
>Get Hahli Mahri from garage sale
>Notice that it, unlike the other sets also at said sale, made weird creaking sound and was hard to move
>Pop off limbs for MOCs some time later
>Everything's going fine until I remove lime hand from her arm
>"Clip" sound, followed by small thump
>Corner of her hand just broke off and flew across the room
>This piece broke nearly in half
I'd post pics but I tried to melt it back together like an idiot and threw it away.
Pic related is the closest I can make in paint. Red outline is what snapped off.
Vrahno if that's really you, please continue your beautiful work.
I'm a long-time fan, from the old days of Biotube and not-as-autistic bzpower and would gladly suck your dick for more content
Fuck yeah I do. Been working like crazy on some new models (including those in that vid) and have the entire thing visualized in my head. But I don't want to talk about it too much, you know what happens to most Bonkle fan projects that get too much early hype. I already had two computers die on me in the last six months, don't want to attract the ire of the anti-fanfilm gods anymore.
Doing all I can anon, you just keep sucking it with a steady force.
Oh, you think the silver is your ally, but you merely adopted the silver. I was born in it, molded by it. I didn’t see the colors until I was already a reboot; by then, it was nothing to me but blinding!
Added some spears to my MOC from yesterday, still not too sure what to do for lower legs, anything longer looks too long.
That's only meant for Midak and maybe background folk, rest will have traditional ones, but with some differences (mask curvature, number of vents, things like that) to differentiate the characters.
Quick question: Do any your computers happen to be from last century? It pains me to see such obvious talent not reach its full potential because of what seems to be extremely shitty hardware.
this thing is coming along nicely, but the legs are a bit weak
and the upper section is going to be even heavier... hope they can hold
Over the past hour I have now collected 101/189 pieces
Tahu has 17 pieces left
Kopaka has 14
Onua has 12
Since we are going under the speculation that the combiner forms get revealed when all pieces are collected, the above three aren't as crucial
We want the other three,
so gali has 14 pieces left
pohatu has 15
lewa has 16
I am gonna go to sleep now, but I will wake up and try to get the rest of the pieces in hope of seeing the combiner models locked, if not, I will feed myself to boidohs fikou
would it have killed lego to include the pic related in at least one of the new sets?
goddamn I want this piece so bad
Have you bought any CCBS before this? I agree that the double-socket with ball is really useful, but I don't know where it could have been put in the Toa and Protectors.
LOSS maybe, and hopefully the Skull Villains get them.
I know right? I always feel like my set's joints could be just a smidge tighter.
I have been working like a machine
Also didnt realise each region kept a different score
so WELCOME TO ONU KORO
You can make him look much better than that, Im just slapping the new pieces I get onto him without rhyme or reason
Most recently, 44015 Evo Walker comes with two in black at a good price of 10 USD.This is the set you'll find the most of in stores right now, and that's a good thing because it also contains a few other really useful pieces.
You can also have your Toa step on the mini-Hero figures if you roll that way.
Also I'm working under the assumption that you ant this glorious CCBS piece, which does wonders for larger/custom builds.
I assume you mean these or the longer version with three holes
That's what you have to work with if you're yuropoor. The one I started modeling on was a banged-up Frankenstein's monster kept alive with shitty older parts and broken cables, but it couldn't take it and it fried itself. The second PC was a similarly crappy one we had lying around just in case. It killed itself.
The current one isn't much better, it's also made up of scrap generously thrown our way by people we know and it has the same shitty pirated Windows on it as the former one, so I can't even get any video editors installed. At least I can watch muh Bonkle vids on it and model some stuff.
My dad promised to find me something useful and affordable, the same way he got my bro a breddy stronk machine which I'm drooling after, but he kinda lost his job, left us for some lunatic ho and her kids and now leads a carefree life spreading the word of some ancient alien forest spirit thing, exploring Transylvania, hiding from "the system" governed by reptoid people, and proclaiming the evilness of money while also looking for a job because he still hasn't mastered the art of eating light. None of that is a joke. He's a fucking dipshit. So... not counting on him fulfilling that promise anymore.
Sorry for all that text, it just feels comfy shittalking him and complaining is in my yuropoor blood.
Gotta get a new fucking PC first. And the new sets.
There is also the Ninjgo set 70500 Kai's Fire Mech, which is a good example of how well CCBS works with regular System sets. At the same price of 10 USD, this set comes with four of >>4627806
Plus it comes with a red Power Rangers ninja and a Stone Warrior, so why not right? Take note that this set is from early 2013 and may not be as common as Evo Walker.
Finally there's 2283 Witch Doctor, a HF set from all the way in 2011. No chance of finding him on shelves, but if you find him cheap (he retailed for 30 USD), he comes with ten of those beautiful double-sockets, along with a ton of other bones and shells.
Witch Doctor is highly recommended if you can find him for a good deal. He's not just chock full of those sockets you crave, but he is also a great general CCBS parts pack, and a good instructions build.
I got that thing on amazon for like $9.
Great source of #3 red shells and gold Exo Fingers, like a little grab bag of nifty parts for CCBS with the charming inclusion of classic bricks.
check bricklink, man
you could buy a bathtub of those
Goodness, Vrahno. It's good to know that you have Bonkles to alleviate that shit even a little bit.
>inb4 not related to thread
Full Okoto team owners, could you take individual shots of the six of them in these poses? On a white background and maybe with the lighting replicated as best as possible?
son of a bitch I wish I bought that when it was out
fucking expensive now
No problem, anon. I love recommending sets to /biog/ guys.
(Although Bricklink just stole my thunder in one fell swoop)
depends on the seller. You can attach your credit card to a paypal account and process it that way, makes currency conversion a cinch if you're ordering from out of your country.
Most sellers only take paypal, but it's very easy to set up if you have a card
Added new legs, but they aren't much to look at imo
Tried that and still looked kinda shit. Decided to rework them completely once more.
>Cleaning icons off desktop for first time in a couple years
>See a file called "MNH.world" for some program called worldpainter
>Look up the program, some minecraft thing
>Prepare for some autistic shit done by autistic high-school me
Admittedly, in trying to make it look female, I mostly focused on chest
Yes, looked into it more, its effectively over 3km long, so about 1/10th scale, it seems I didnt put any structures into it, but from what I can see the geographical features are all there, I noted the waterfall where the big Gali head should be, and a big hole full of lava with a stone pillar in the middle, which I assume I intended to be Ta-koro
What the fuck does TLG even do for them to be so tight-assed about everything
1/10 already seems pretty big from what I've seen, booted up minecraft to take a look at this, pic related is the crater of mangai
Looking over this, I have found a few things younger me seems to have forgotten about, I can probably fix those errors, then might upload a file to anyone interested.
Gives them sets early and stuff?
>gives them sets early
Oh yeah, I forgot about that guy you all hate who won a mocing contest jut because he was the only one allowed to use the news set he was given for "reviewing"
which was allegedly a legal move because "the parts were available to anyone who could make it to the specific exclusive events in New York."
I didn't even participate and that's bullshit.
One thing I'm noticing is a distinct lack of Mount Ihu, could just be this game's shitty vertical resolution though (I kinda want to add it either way, this is cooler than I thought it would be)
Found one of your recommended sets
Wasnt at sale but still got it anyways
Need me those parts real bad
Because I tend to make things more human if I want them to be sexy. I can try to draw something that looks more like the sets, but I doubt it would work all that well, at least in my own opinion.
didn't know you were going for the sexy look
though that would mean that you have failed in that regard, even when you went for human look
why not try the bionicle movie looks
I found the gali model sexy
Do you guys prefer the set look, the MoL/LoMN/WoS look or the Legend Reborn look? I like how original movies took into consideration the bio aspect more, I just we'd had a chance to see more.#
MoL was almost perfect, it just didn't take into account that Takua already had a character and was pretty brave after MNOG.
Same with Jaller, for someone who was Captain of the guard he acted pretty young.
Would have liked it if the older movies designed more recognizable Lego pieces into the characters, (WOS did that technically) but I like those more. Lot a creativity in those designs overall. TLR's designs were boring and the added things (creepy double teeth, spinning shits, metal loincloths) didn't really add much, I felt, more like detracted from their looks. And don't get me started on Telluris being part of the Skopio.
Only way any studio would make the film. Everyone else would suggest having a kid from IRL teleported to the Matoran universe so Lego had to settle having the main characters being child like so they didn't rape the lore and still got the movie.
To appeal to kids. Putting the Matoran as kids an Toa as "adults" seems kinda stupid considering Toa are really just tall matoran with elemental powers and working masks.
To those still interested in pic related, added my best approximation of Mount Ihu, not really easy as its barely visible on the overhead official map.
Turaga Nokama's painted-on cleavage was a unique touch too.
