I got the Brick Bounty and the Iron Man Vs. Ultron set.
>not brick show edition
you fucked up dude
>I'm the person who's been organizing the monthly challenges for the past few months (but not February). I prefer having four weekly challenges at the beginning of the month for two reasons: a full month is a really long time for something that's supposed to be a challenge, and having four choices means that even if someone doesn't like or can't do one challenge, there are still other options for them during that window.
>I'm also going to point out that collecting ten or twelve suggestions and then using Strawpoll to have the thread vote on the top four means that those are the ones that interested the most people. IIRC the February challenges were just the first four that people posted after someone asked.
>Obviously I'm not going to throw a fit if people want to do a single monthly challenge, but I've completed the majority of the weeklies and had a lot of fun doing so.
I agree with having more than one challenge. Usually I don't feel like doing all of them and half the time I can't even make a good entry because I lack the pieces to do so.
is this working?
I assume they mean things like "Castle", "Pirates", etc and not just "Lego".
Anon who wanted to go back to single here. When you put it that way I'm all for it, I suppose it was more the unwieldy choices for this month that I had fault with.
>Make a mini vehicle with the least amount of pieces possible.
Some anons a few threads back already solved this quorum.
What is this magical page that shows local clearances and stock status? Would save me a hell of a lot of checking time and gas money.
>tfw I just drove 25 miles away to check the nearest clearanced S^3 in vain
>Meltdown was a RoboRiders reference
Did you see the Speed Champion stuff out?
I know it's supposed to be out next month, but you know how some stores don't give a fuck.
Yes, they had those, too.
There was a LEGO rep there filling the shelves, actually. Stocking all the new stuff.
I actually got stopped at the register because the Iron Man/Avengers sets were street dated for March 1st, but some higher up TRU employee cam up and said they got word that they could sell the March sets now.
My local stores probably won't shelf things for like two weeks after release, anyway...
Made a bladewolf from metal gear rising out of the power digger set, thoughts?
create elemental shrine or temple.
of cours the element can be something totally made up. i will show you soon.
you can figure out what i used very easily
We could maybe have a challenge where we build mechs from current sets + Mixel joints, but that's my personal taste showing.
Oh, since it's March it's St Patrick's Day, which means Irish which means drinking. We could do a bar setting maybe?
I like the temple idea as well.
In yuuro as well? Because I found some of those and Ninjago-stuff in one small piece of shit store here.
They're shitty, but they usually stock new stuff pretty early on, and their prices, at least in online, are bit cheaper than other retailers.
>completing one of this month's challenges while proposing one for the next
I like your style.
>Absolutely no WAY we'd get them all printed
I'm actually a lot happier with stickers, since they give me the option to leave off for street cars. Not to mention part versatility and being able to make UPS boxes.
Part of me wants to get 75908, and I don't even like racing car, outside F1.
But the amount of stickers on it is fucking ridiculous. I mean, I have nothing against stickers, but I couldn't be bothered to put them all on. Even Benny's Spaceship was almost too much for me.
I loved Pirates as a kid, but sadly, never had any of the big ships from back then. This is really the only pirate ship I've ever had.
I can see how some people think it looks a tad bland compared to the old ones, but I'm just happy to have a big ship finally.
It just looks like shit once you've got the Imperial Flagship.
>watching The Flash, decide I want to get Flash lego stuff
>only set has Flash, Captain Cold, Gorilla Grodd, and has the price boosted by fucking Batman and Wonder Woman shit
FUCK YOU LEGO
This fucking store. It has 3 things I need, and it doesn't say minimum buy on the store listing page, only on store terms.
And I don't even need more than those 3 from this store.
I'll buy Cold too, but mostly I'm disappointed that that's all they've done for the Flash in lego, he has plenty of great characters I'd love to have.
Though, I'd love to know the thought process behind this set. What lead to a batmech? Why are Wonder Woman and her stupid jet being shoved off here? Attacking a banana truck was really all they could think of for Gorilla Grodd?
The 'strike' and '/strike' around it implies that they were trying to strikethru the text, maybe they removed their minimum buy. Contact the seller and find out.
Oh, yeah, I forgot about Captain Cold. To be honest I'm almost tempted to pick the set up and parts box most of it, if only because the mech is kinda nice and the invisible jet is neat. Clear parts are always nice to have. Otherwise, I've really enjoyed the Flash TV show, so Flash/Grodd/Cold is pretty nice...
Keep in mind that Flash, Captain Cold and Gorilla Grodd is around 23 bucks on Bricklink. Michael Cera and his banana truck is probably atleast 6-7 bucks more. That's 30 bucks, not including shipping.
The set retails for 50 bucks, you could probably find it for cheaper. And then you'd get more figs and extra parts.
And the reason for a batmech is because Batman is popular as shit and LEGO seems to believe that any set without Batman won't sell. Personally I wish they'd skiped the WW and the invisible jet (it looks like shit) and made the set a 40 dollar set instead
Speaking of TRU, has anyone been able to find this polybag at theirs yet? It's started to show up online, but I can't find any concrete info about when it's supposed to be available.
Question. If I leave stuff to cart in Bricklink, but don't checkout, how long until the carts empties automatically? I've checked all the stuff I need/want, but I don't have money right now for it.
I think after 2 says. I usually do that for even longer periods and I have to readd everything that gets removed.
So I usually printscreen everything so I can be sure I wont miss anything.
>mom just texts me and tells me she found this in the basement that she bought from TJMaxx a while ago
I don't even remember seeing this line, they're really cool sets and I'm sad I didn't get the big village when it was out
I have just about every set in the original Pirates wave. I think the new one fits in pretty well, but the last Pirates line from 2009 was in my dark age, so I don't know anything about it.
>Man I just got done bricklinking the little freckle face from this a couple days ago
This is a really cute face.
Not sure if anyone saw yet, but Target finally has some of the new City polybags in for Easter.
Some stores haven't put all their stuff out yet so I guess your mileage may vary in finding it.
This is actually my new favorite of the last year or so that I've been seeing them. Little garbage pickup guy has little garbage trucks that attach on the back.
Friends polybag looked like it was some sort of planting or gardening thing. couldn't really tell.
>grew up watching Superfriends
>one set has Flash, Batman, Wonder Woman and two members of the Legion of Doom
THANK YOU LEGO
I don't think they've done a Bat-Mech before so at least it's not another Bat vehicle that's been done before. My only complaint is that the invisible plane is a little shrimpy.
yes, here's another pic of him among other dc characters. All you need is CMF hippie, SW captain panaka's head, and the torso is from Lone Ranger if I remember it right.
I saw JLB Super Mario and Marvel (Spiderman, Thor, and Iron Man MK42) at a dollar store, how's the quality?
im so sorry anon.
stores usually put them out with the holiday stuff, if you have more than one target near you, you could check out more of them. I went to a few today and only one had these out yet.
i always end up getting one when they first come out, and picking up one or two when they all go on clearance for extra pieces or to sell.
>mfw i went to comic con this weekend and people were selling old polybags for anywhere from $10-$20 each.
Rocket was going for $25.
Horay for Based Walmart Clearance. Got this set for $15. I also got An Unexpected Gathering for $15.
I planned to use the clown afro for my Medphyll
They have been sitting on a lot of their clearance for a year plus and suddenly decided to actually clear it out.
Disappointingly someone else had picked up most of the LEGO as these two sets and some Chima were all that was left.
For the longest time there had been an Iron Man Malibu Assault set that I wish had still been there. Plus some other movie stuff but it was all gone. Still, I am happy. I kept almost picking up Metalbeard at full retail.
I made your mistake and picked him up for full retail yesterday at Target. I don't really regret it though, since it's a pretty great set.
My local LEGO store has been sold out of the micro AT-AT since it came out. I found one at a Fred Meyer, and it was the only one in the store. Why is that one so much more popular than the rest of them?
>Taking pics of Lego on a wooden surface in front of After Earth
Did you make this? If so, I'm a big fan.
I'm actually in that boat, but that's been the only Micro Fighter I've had trouble finding. They had a ton of Snowspeeders at both the LEGO store and Fred Meyer, but I've only seen the one AT-AT. There's something about the AT-AT, I don't know if they're producing fewer of them, or it's just that much more popular than the rest.
That's the funniest thing I've seen all day.
Still need to mount the new horns held by the brakeman. Based everything off this pic. The fans are way different from the lego model, and I was able to include exhaust stacks.
Still need to raise up the IR receiver by one plate.
>go to walmart because cheap food
>remember lone S3 in lego aisle
>was still at full price last time
>let's take a look
>S3 gone. New stuff is moving in so restock is probably out of the question
>total bummer, but that's life i guess.
>look in the discount aisle for discounted lego
>see ninjago, chima, , i mean that's cool, but not really what i was looking for
>one big box tucked behind a Star Wars playset
>pull it out
>it's probably another star destroyer or somethi-
>it's a battered, punched, crumpled, one-end-open SpaceshipSpaceshipSpaceship
>associate marking prices nearby
>ask for price check without spilling too much spaghetti
>"49 dollars, although you might want to double check it."
>one end is open
>FUCK THE BUDGET
>throw it in the cart
>lawfully and safely drive home
>dump out box
>box is battered to shit but the parts bags are all present and accounted for
>mfw half-price lego
>mfw finally S3
>mfw everyone is scalping the shit out of the set and i don't give a fuck
>mfw i know what i'm doing this weekend
Life is good, everything is awesome.
>Yeah, where are these anyway?
Well I should say I know the exist, but one of the stores almost never has Lego in there. It's usually all the other stupid shit, like barbies and action figures.
lego tends to sell like hotcakes in my area, I think.
> clearanced lego
That reminds me of a question I meant to ask you guys: is this set any good?
How much longer do you guys think this set will be around? I kinda want it but it's not very high on my priority list, unless it might become hard to find and thus expensive as fuck soon.
I got it. It's okay, but great for a clearance price. Parts are okay and Spider Queen Lady is a very nice Minifig to have around.
She's also one of the very few 'pregnant' mini figs, if you count having a mini spider in her abdomen pregnant.
>Hot Dog Man, I'm pregnant- and you're the father!
Can someone make one of those erect dong type images with this? I'm on my phone.
>meanwhile in poland
>Smyk Store: Sx3 discount is from 120$ to 100$
polandball cannot into clearances
>local target never clearance anything
>local walmarts only clearance shitty themes like Ninjago
The only good clearance deal I've ever found is An Unexpected Gathering for 40 bucks, are the stores in my area just shitty?
What do you guys think is a better storage/sorting solution?
The big drawers or the smaller little containers?
The stores near me never clearance anything either. Sometimes after a year of shelf warming theyll mark a set down a few bucks. I sometimes rage at the amazing deals i see people get here.
I like it, but it needs some work in the waist and shoulders. Also, you're about to get a lot of flak from anons who can't accept that Bionicle is Lego.
Is this an insider term for Lego Stores or am I missing something? If it is, have you ever had an incident ending in banning a customer?
Spotted double decker couch in aus stores finally, didn't think it would ever get here
>no unikitty minifig
> On Walmart clearance....
Sometimes its an aisle.
Sometimes its in the garden center (even the outside area)
Sometimes they put out risers down the walkways
Walmart clearance is also on a store basis so even of one has not on clearance another may not.
They also like to set up racks near Sporting Goods or Electronics. Really anyone hunting for clearance deals should make a full lap of the store as well as ask associates where the clearance sections are. And always price check, since it might be even cheaper than the sticker reads.
>tfw I can no longer bring myself to pay MSRP for any sets over $40 after so many great deals
>tfw playing chicken with clearance sets to see if they stick around long enough to go down further
There's this old thing and a navy blue suit that came from a Spider-Man set.
Sadly no orange shirts.
>That's a lot of trans neon green
That's because just about every B:FG set came with at least a couple of trans-neon green domes.
Apparently other stores do sometimes, but we always place ours in our 'donation' bin, which essentially goes back to LEGO, gets cleaned and then is donated all over the world.
I only knew these a short while before they went public but:
Hoth Echo base Exclusive
Ferris wheel Exclusive
(There's a new supercar on the way too)
Paleontologist was tricky for me, since there were times I thought the sheriff's gun was a bone or the disco woman's hair was the hat and hairpiece. The 1x1 round ammonite fossil was what I looked for.
I was lucky in that I got hot dog man and then carpenter and paleontologist on two different trips. Cold weather limits people going to TRU on week day afternoons and they have the CMFs in a corner of the section so I can feel through the bags at my leisure.
>implying you have a dick and are not just a qt girl and actually want me to do that to you one morning
Also, I wish I got more of those robot heads from the insect space sets. They look pretty neato.
WHERE IS MORE THIS??? WHY RED SQUAD SHIT ON AND NO LARGE VEHICLE FOR THEM??? RAGE!!!
But seriously, what happened with this theme? Why does it look like there won't be another space theme for a long time.
You're better off making a MOC for red team. It's unlikely that we'll have an original space theme soon, considering that Lego is pushing SW Rebels and prequel lines.
Which is not bad, they sell well, but I miss having a exploration-oriented space theme. Like Life on Mars.
i only got lucky once, when i found 3 random minifigs 50% off.
anyway, the lady called me so i can buy these two. they even gave me 5% discount. i was tempted to buy another minifig but i was in hurry.
there'es goes my "set of the month"
They technically replaced Galaxy Squad with Ultra Agents, despite them not really being similar at all. And personally, I thought Alien Conquest was better, which is what Galaxy Squad replaced.
Hot Dog Guy was the figure I found last; he was easy to find, and had a new, original mold, so of course he was a pain to find; I only managed to because I managed to find a store with an unopened box of minifigs behind the opened, fondled one on display.
Can you confirm when the Winter Soldier polybag will hit the US?
Also I've always wondered, the bricks in the PAB wall, can someone buy one of the boxes of bricks that supply those? Like if they just ask an employee? How much would that cost?
I cannot confirm, though, I'm pretty sure we're getting them in March.
You can puchase boxes of them, yes. You'll get about 5-700 2X4 bricks inside a box. They'll go for about $100 each, in some cases the price changes.
But I'm an employee, you CAN buy a PAB unit box, given that it wasnt previously open, when we scan those out for inventory purposes, they come up as 0.00 so an employee that knows what theyre doing will adjust it for 100.00.
So basically go to a store ask for the ASM or manager ask to buy a box of bricks, they cost 100 each, oh and no word on Winter soldier figure, last I heard was September.
Todays SUPERPREZENT was really nice. The balista keeps the ice theme, and just look at DEM PIECES.
Converted my girly Elves boat into a manly Smuggler's Scow.
>Marvel/DC (or anything that isn't Star Wars) Microfighters
You can see the ship it was based off in the background.
Just got this for $17 from Walmart. They had two more and I was really tempted to buy another but decided to pass.
Not-Brickarms guy here again, updated the Tacticool AK to have a proper adjustable stock instead of the fuckhuge thing it had before.
Coming soon: VSS Vintorez
$49.95 TARGET Clearance. Grabbed the last one in store. Dropship was $39.95 but I just picked one up from Walmart two weeks ago for $59 and I can't find the receipt. Anyone find an Emmet Mech for 50% off?
They're also $50 most places at Walmart if you can find them. I bought one a couple weeks ago for $70, and the Dropship for $60... I'm at college without a car or I'd go driving around buying all that I could find of both.
I hope this Pirates line lasts longer than the 2009 line...
>Do all Target's clearance at the exact same time
I've seen different prices on the same item at different locations. Someone in /lg/ was saying that high volume stores are slower to markdown since they figure the stuff will sell quicker either way.
> be the guy who asked about Spinlyn's Cavern last night
Decided to pull the trigger on it today, changed my mind at the last second and came home with these. Did I do good?
> paid $11 for Razar's CHI Raider
> $7 for the BARC Speeder
> $10 for Red Creatures
Also, Series 4 mixels are clearanced at my Wal-Mart. Weird...
I have a friend that calls bootleg minifigs "lego"
Which shouldn't bother me but he's discussed painting LEGO sets with me, and I (to my surprise) got offended.
It all shouldn't bother me that much but it does. Can anyone else relate?
>got to Target since they're having a pulling out of Canada clearance sale
>see Milano and Super Secret Police Dropship
>sign says 30% off
>"Eh, that's a still a bit much for both but my birthday's on the 9th, may as well treat myself"
>get to cash
>turns out they're actually 50% off
Today was a good day.
I think Chima is kinda meh overall but I couldn't pass this set for this price.
Queen Anne's Revenge all cleaned up. Small amount of pieces missing, would I just bag then up and do inventory or rebuild it before throwing it up on eBay?
about a week ago I happened to click on /toy/ just out of boredom
my legos arrived today
Has anyone introduced you to Cracklink yet?
>TFW Pirates aren't on walmart shelves yet
Damn it, I want dat waifu!
I just say the treasure island set at my WM today, no fuckin' GOAT clearance like everyone else is finding, though.
Well I still think the old star wars movies have better sets.
Any leaks on any of the new Episode 7 sets?
I looked it up and got this http://metro.co.uk/2014/12/14/the-new-star-wars-episode-7-lego-has-arrived-4986212/, didn't read the article and though how detailed the new figures are. Then I realized they are just customs.
Wow, this is a dream come true.
Grabbed myself the smallest Elves, Racer, and Pirate sets today at TRU.
I also got the Ghostbusters one for a great price. Should I sit on it or build it? I've never been a big GB fan, but I doubt I'd sell it either.
It was at Wal-Mart, labeled as "Raven Flyer" or something like that. Thing is, the sticker on the front says $30 and I was seriously considering dropping that much on it until I decided not to get anything at all... and then I found a few sets the next aisle over price cut to hell and back. Chi raider, mammoth vehicle for 1/3 off, new mixels for tree fiddy, etc. Crazy shit, I think I'm going to be making some mistakes in the coming weeks.
I'm really excited that pirates are back. I'm going to get everything in the run, and then maybe double dip a little...
I'm rather amused that they've gone back to blue coats now.
What other ways are there to attach those wings to a minifig besides the Chima bird armor? I know there's the brand-new two-stud neck brace; is that and a pair of clips my best option?
Somewhere (most likely subterranean), there is a war room full of the world's greatest and most cynical marketing bastards, and they're all kicking themselves for not coming up with the most effective viral marketing wheeze in years.
(one of these days I will stop being an moron and figure out how to make a lightbox)
(who the fuck am I kidding)
You said it yourself, Chima armor and Hawkman's back piece. Dunno if the new piece hinders arm movement like the Chima armor does, but it's certainly better looking and has wider applications as far as custom minifigs.
Your lighting's fine. What you need is a better camera and a tripod. Phone cameras are usually too grainy and holding them with your hands often results in bury photos.
Photo criticism aside I look forward to seeing the finished product.
Hah, no, this is a shitty generic digital
I've got a tripod, just didn't dig it out because WIP pics. Also only lighting was an overhead
Here's an example of less shitty shit with the tripod, daylight, and a lamp. Problem is it takes setup, I need to construct something that doesn't require assembly every time I want take pics of a model.
nobody really bothers since Lego saves them the trouble
For instructions older than the official site has, try Peeron. Also, a lot of early 2000s instructions on the official site are excellent vectorised PDFs.
You should use this on the bubble helmet. It will make it look fantastic.
found the speed champion sets. Grabbed the McLaren.
Haven't put it together yet. Have a few sets to build now.
It's gonna be a good day when I crack them all open.
>tfw missed Hulk Buster delivery
>mfw "Will redeliver on Monday"
There's going to be new Space and Fantasy Castle themes in 2016. Western too, if we're really lucky. And Ghost Pirates if it does well enough for a second year.
I..I just get 8 zł for hour... You get 26zł...
When I was a kid, I loved the Lego pirates line but unfortunately, the islanders sets had just retired. I wrote a letter to the Lego company asking to buy some islander figures and they sent me 10 different figures with accessories and palm trees. Lego was different in the 90s. They can't do stuff like that now that sausage finger scalpers are around.
goddamn it. that's really cool of TLG. i can only imagine how stoked you must have been to unexpectedly have received them
I really love it when companies do stuff like that.
I just bought the game in the pic for € 2,- second hand. The sheep have some pretty great pieces but it's a damn shame that those eyes aren't printed.
100$ for everything here, is this a good deal? I'm not quite sure asking if anyone can see anything specific in it
Are there any communities or websites dedicated to Lego Pirates like there are for Classic Castle?
Didn't expect to find this in the store when I checked the Lego. At a nice discount too
I love Chima. I've always assumed it was the "fuck you blizzard" line.
Think about it. First set is 'normal' minifigs with custom optional molded heads - for purists to replace with helmets/hair and for the kids/fans of the Chima series to use. (Lego lost the WoW contract to Megablocks when they refused to make fullbody custom molded minifigs for the sets.)
The next wave (expansion) is literally outland, they go to a new place with foreign monsters.
The third wave is literally northrend, they're fighting undead ice-themed monsters.
>Pic related is about as close to a horde troll as you can get without hardcore copyright infringement
Honestly, except for the crocodiles/orcs, I just give the other guys various knight helmets.
>all these people getting lucky on clearance
man you guys in Clapistan are lucky. The Democratic Republic of the Bongo never puts things on clearance - and if they do, it's 25% at most and usually on small sets, like CHI Laval.
Best one I got was the original Quinjet for £50
I live in Florida, and my local Walmart seems to think that reducing something's price by a penny is clearance pricing.
Seriously, seeing a clearance sticker with a single penny difference on the price is fucking laughable.
I love crocs (reptilians) and eagles (Avian people) but the best IMO are Phoenixes.
Cananyonefind that russian Chima prototype video btw?
Would you settle for Snake-tribe cultist goons?
