>Any hint to a reissue Diend to go with Dickade & Kivala?
Nope, none of the other SS releases had any either, seems they're sticking to the main Riders for now, hope Faiz or Kiva is next, more the former than anything.
that would be the silly shit in question
why is amazon listing items by just the lowest price instead of "price+shipping" like they've always done?
i had a mini heart attack seeing a figuarts for this price only to be sadly disappointed
The season two Figuarts are the defining shelfwarmers. It's understandable though, as Yellow and Blue are practically the exact same fucking figures as the season one versions, and the season itself was a hell of a lot less popular than the first.
Nah, season 1 stuff shelfwarmed a bit too. I got my S1 Yellow for like, 1200y new back in late 2012?
>and the season itself was a hell of a lot less popular than the first.
Unsurprising. S2 was bleh.
Best place to get wizard gear at a good price? Found a Dragotimer for 800 yen, but the only places I can find the other stuff (Wizsword gun, AxCalibur, Driver) is ebay for stupidly high prices or not having all the form rings (Fire, water, hurricane, land and the dragon forms) which I can't find all of and don't know how to get.
What is the point?
Are you angry because:
a) You actually got your hopes up that you could get a figure for $2
b) You're angry because you're an Amazon stakeholder and he's exploiting Amazon's shipping policy
c) Your life is that empty you desperately need something to complain about
d) Somebody is selling something for slightly higher than the market average
Like, seriously, bruv.
>c) Your life is that empty you desperately need something to complain about
> tfw when next month my energy riders will be complete.
>the weekend of the new rider toys
>nobody is buying the driver
I remember when this shit sold out till Christmas. Times are changing I guess. Even Drive was scarce for at least a couple of weeks.
Dang. Does it seem like the Eyecons are selling at all? I'm planning on getting a couple, but I'm not sold on the Ghost Driver yet.
Would anyone be willing to sell me the mr.belt faces that come with the trideron? I need them
For rings go to Amazon. They are no more than $14(Some are as low as $6) and you get free shipping if it's designated in the description of the purchase. They don't seem to be up on Mandarake usually anymore, but they were around ￥800 when they were, though it was usually just the numbered sets, never the other sets.
AxCalibur is expensive in general because Infinity was only in like one Candy Toy set right near the end of the show, but you can usually find it for about $60. Amazon Japan has it for ￥5600 right now, but middleman fees and shipping you need to factor into that.
Wizsword Gun is tough to find on most other sites for a decent price, but again, Amazon Japan has it for around ￥5900.
The main belt is always going for around $65-75 on both Japanese and English sites, so just go via Amazon unless you feel like paying middleman fees and shipping for whatever reason.
White Wizard belt is only about $30 everywhere, so if you don't want to pay $70 it's a pretty good alternative, and comes with Change and Explosion.
Dragotimer is cheap because it's shit. You can't hear any of the sounds and it basically has the Genesis Driver grinding for the whole thing.
If Amazon.com(Not Amazon.co.jp) isn't an option, then you're probably stuck having to middleman it.
If you don't mind used, eBay has some DX belts with their respective rings for about $35, but it seems ring sets are way too expensive on there in comparison to Amazon. There's also Yahoo Japan Auctions.
I think it is because the amount of things it does right and the amount of things it does not so right are very 50/50.
>Eye gimmick is perfect for the theme, to eyelid opening/closing to the eye following the camera around.
>Eyecons themselves have a great design too.
>Base form jingle is spot on for both the theme and the character. It has the nice voice distortion for the ghost theme and a spunky kick to it for Takeru.
>Lever feels like a little much. Needed to be smaller or use something more subtle
>Proportions of the belt got screwed over when it got scaled down to the kid's toy
>The jingles for the other forms are boring as well. Puns are not enough to hype up a form.
The last one of the cons bothers me the most in particular. They are almost nothing like the base form jingle in format. Should have just been like the Self Soul and distort the names of the historical figures played against a nice tune. Like Edison's name should have been called out with an electrical distortion noise to it. Overall, they need to sound more GHOSTly, Bandai. Ghosts are cool because they are ghosts and do ghost stuff.
Or he could just Mandarake and get shit stupid cheap as usual.
>Driver is 3k usually
>Sword gun 2kish when it does pop up
>Ring set's are usually 100-800 Yen
>Axecalibur pops once a week sometimes around 2-4k
I got Wizard Driver at 2k, Ring Holder at 1.2k, Plamonsters 1-4 at 1k barely each and a Combo box of Driver/Holder for 4k within the past month.
If you know how to Mandarake it's great.
I've been checking Mandy for a while since I do want the belt. I've only seen the numbered ring sets for ￥400-800, and it's usually only one or two of them up, never the Dragon sets or the movie sets. The one time I saw a Dragon set it was Flame Dragon for ￥1500, and the one time I saw a movie set was the Taisen one for ￥3000. Swordgun and Driver I've never seen under ￥5000, Axcalibur I've only seen it loose without the ring for ￥3200, White Wizard Driver is like $2 less than it is on Amazon but you have to factor in the shipping fees. I have seen Plamonsters constantly though as low as ￥500.
He can try his luck if he's patient, but at least for the rings he'd be better off just ordering them via Amazon if he actually wants anything other than basic spells.
Now you've seen some more movie/dragon rings
I've been using the English page the whole time, it's no wonder I've been missing some. Picture related is what I see at the same prices.
The modern ones are pretty akin to SIC quality, only thing is that the majority of releases are exclusives, and the aftermarket for them are not the best. They are also more display that figures, so don't expect the best articulation you could get from it.
But yeah, if there is something you're into, watch/read reviews, etc.
Has anyone else received a payment email from hlj for the ghost driver? I've never actually pre-ordered anything before and I assumed I would've had it by now. Or do they not have it in stock yet?
Since you are not using their actual names, I'm gonna assume you're just impulse buying them?
I recommend actually becoming familiar with the stuff before spending dosh on them. They're not the most cheapest figs you can get.
I don't plan to get many at all. Actually I usually buy a cool toy of something and get into it later. Bought Raia, then watched Ryuki, SIC Tatoba and then watched OOOs. I really enjoy designs rather than having to know about a figure before I buy it.
It's alarming, no matter how many times I update this thing with my new pick-ups it's always a sea of red. I may have a problem.
Ignorant question, but why does bandai not pump out super sentai figuarts? the last one they released was jetman from months ago, and akarenger before that. Do super sentai not sell well enough to justify more consistent releases and teams?
Sentai is still interpreted by Bandai as a little kids show. The adult market isn't there to justify the expense of making a higher end action figure. Imagine giving your SHF to a 5 year old, just how long would it last? I believe that's why they moved the high end sentai stuff to their premium line. It's there for adult collectors and they don't have to make a ton of them to turn profit, cauuse adults are stupid and don't mind spending big bucks for 4" figure almost completely devoid of die-cast. Case in point, my picture.
I ended up placing an order for the Stronger+Kabutolaw set on BBTS since it was the only big name store still taking pre-orders.
I'm still gonna keep an eye out for NY in case they re-open because they're a hell lot cheaper.
Because Murricans fucked it all up by not buying the MMPR Figuarts and thinking they'd be sly and get them all for half off if they waited long enough like previous Sentai releases.
It sucks because I honestly enjoy Sentai more than Rider but can't help that the fans are trash.
>Tacticool Rider Figuarts
That was Kamen Rider 4 from the mini-sequel for the summer Kamen Rider/Super Sentai movie.
AFAIK, that was just a prototype and there has been no word about whether it will go into production or if it was just a display piece.
These just came in as my first entry into both Toku buyfag-dom and SHF, and I'm impressed! For the amount of articulation they have, they feel solid and the joints hold (so far).
I'm thinking about getting the Beast Driver, but the child's waist size belt won't fit.
>my first entry into both Toku buyfag-dom and SHF
Nice. Look into getting the Module Sets. They're super cheap and provide high quality fun.
>but the child's waist size belt won't fit.
Belt extenders are only about $20 or so, and if you want custom belt extenders there's a bunch on eBay for each Driver for like $30 at most. The only trouble is when you go before I think it was either Kabuto or Den-O, then you have to jury rig it to fit.
>Dying to know about hand count, muffler(s), and all that.
You could just check his product info. He comes with three sets of hands
The photos all only show the basic muffler, and there isn't one listed in the accessory count either so it looks like he just has the one. Other than that he just has a jump effect for his belt(pic related), and a Rider Kick effect.
So I'm predicting SHF Ghosts and Specters will have rubber/soft plastic coats. It feels like just molding the coat to the body and adding joints wouldn't work. Maybe they'll pull another Drive and release the base figure in its default form and release the other forms as separate coats/heads. I figure the midseason and the final forms will have new bodies, but everything else uses the same base.
>So I'm predicting SHF Ghosts and Specters will have rubber/soft plastic coats.
Your prediction would be wrong. Bandai doesn't do gimmicks like that in Figuarts because it hinders shit and looks bad.
Yeah, a rubber or soft plastic coat would not only look awful it would massively hinder articulation, particularly in the shoulders, unless it was heavily broken up. We're going to get Figuarts of a few alternate forms like Musashi and Newton, but they'll be entire figures and more than likely online exclusives like with Gaim.
Well I'm sure if they ever do a Figuarts Tricyclone or Rider 4 it'll be loaded down with extra hands and stuff that should've come with the figure in the first place DAMMIT DRIVE YOU SON OF A BITCH
How many villains have toys? Also, why don't the nips like villains?
>How many villains have toys?
>Also, why don't the nips like villains?
Kids wanna be the hero not the bad guy, it's only later in life they realize villains tend to get more creative designs.
I don't think the Metal Heroes figures have ever been that popular other than the B-Fighter ones. If they ever actually release that Metalder they showed off last year it'll probably do decent too.
>no Kamen Rider Drive X Janperson crossover TV special to promote the release of the Figuarts along with a DX Jaycar Shift Car
Goddammit. Everything about it aligns hard with Drive but I guess someone was asleep at the wheel.
I was more surprised we didn't get another Kikaider crossover. There were sounds for it in the Drive Driver, and there's supposedly been a Kikaider Reboot sequel in the works for a while.
It would been pretty neat to see him interact with Chase. Hell Hakaider and Banno would've probably been best evil buds.
>Shinnosuke would try to arrest Janperson because he's a vigilante.
That'd be the catalyst, he'd see Janperson kill someone right in front of him but then discover it was an android, then they team up.
Also Janperson has a cooler car, gadgets and doesn't require 3 separate suits or that much of the original cast if any.
That's the argument Bandai makes, GI Joe's Cobra and Transformers Decepticons both sell decently, Microman Acroyears do well, list goes on.
Next you'll tell me that 'female figures don't sell'
>Dropped Drive early on
You don't need to say that. The fact that you think Chase is an edgelord was a given.
Just get Mashin/Rider Chaser and let somebody who actually likes the show get Proto-Drive, given it's a Nations exclusive and all.
>his own Black/Purple effects set
At least try
Protodrive is featured in flashbacks in the first few episodes as the one who stopped the Global Freeze. Dude physically couldn't even kill Roidmude's, and even when he was going around calling himself the Grim Reaper as Mashin Chaser, he still refused to kill anyone.
>Clearly hasn't even watched the Series
The show is barely even two days old and we won't see a prototype or any info at all until Tamashii Nation at the earliest.
But if you think you'll ever get swappable parts for alternate forms after how they handled Gaim you might have brain problems.
They could probably allow for swappable parts without breaking up the design too much, considering it's just the jacket, hands and head. But history has shown that accessory sets like that don't sell, so even if they did it, they'd be exclusive items and probably cost nearly as much as another figure anyway.
>QUICK! we have the gimmick but we need a design for the new ninninjer mecha
>uh...when in doubt, chinese sacred beasts
>nice! but that only makes 4
>pink and gold
>i love you
You guys are idiots.
It's a fucking Black Carp. A koi fish. From Wikisymbol(so feel free to talk shit at me):
"Generally, Koi fish symbolism came from the Chinese legend of the Dragon Gate where the Koi has triumphantly swam up a waterfall and transformed to a dragon afterward. This is why Koi has become a favorite icon as it stands for a lot of things."
Kinda dig how the Ghost Change figure pre-eyecon looks like a fencer's mask
>I'm so glad sarcasm translates perfectly through text. That's for sure.
I guess my point is, why does it take longer for them to get this stuff? If they're going to have it eventually, why not stock it upon release?
I've only ever bought Figuarts from AmiAmi, so I don't know how this shit works.
Yup you'll get all besides Brakawani.
Tho Super Best OOO is near $80 most places tho. Mandarake has been dry too.
A guy I follow on Facebook just got Premium Collection so he's selling all 21 DX core's and a Medal Holder now.
Just bought pic related for relatively decent price.
What's the actual difference between the Japanese and American release though?
and even then you can easily find sticker replacements on eBay or even Google if that's what you want. The only one that I know has a big difference is whatever Muteki Shogun's equivalent was called.
I'm new to SHF but having seen the suit for Spectre I want him to be my first. Any ideas on when he may end up getting a figure? also ghost? What's the normal release time compared to airing?
His prototype will probably be shown at the upcoming Tamashii Nations event on October 30th, heck that even looks like his silhouette on the poster
Any guesses on the next gaim release? I'm hoping for Lord Baron.
I got the base driver from HLJ too, but mine hasn't shipped either. They might have just fulfilled the first ones and are waiting on a second shipment to fulfill the rest or something.
Historically speaking, Deception figures usually sell like shit in Japan which occasionally leads to Takara having to put in extra bells and whistles to try to get those figures to sell over there.
Thank you very much, I just finished processing my pre-order for him; I'm quite excited!
Why was it good news that he is "exclusive"?
I would think "exclusive" would mean that he would be harder to purchase.
Exclusives are open for pre-order for weeks to months at a time, while with general releases all the pre-orders are usually snapped up within a day.
If Chaser had been a general release then there's no way he'd still be open for pre-order.
Legs go fully forward and to the side, double joint knee, ball joint ankle, and usually a joint for the toes. Hips used to be drop down but aren't anymore, some people like it and some people don't.
Is there any place selling 1:1 rider helmets?
It was just a display for SS Decade.
I have some of them. Huge and heavy shit. You don't want Greeeds throwing these at your face.
>We all go through that phase
Nope, some of us aren't that recklessly irresponsible with our money and actually research shit before we waste money on it. Worst things that happened to me was under paying and getting a counterfeit figuarts. I ended up giving it to a friend that isn't a collector so he didn't care even when I said it was a fake.
I still find it equal parts sad and funny that they had to release an official statement that "it's just a display. Just because Kiva is on there doesn't mean we're hinting at releasing him ever."
>Kiva-La, Rider 3, and the fucking Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles all got Figuarts before Kiva
Feels bad man. Oh well, only a few more weeks until Tamashii Nation 2015 and the inevitable prototype for the next Shinkoucchou Seihou.
Keep in mind that Bandai's diversified the fuck out of the Figuarts line this last year with stuff like Mario, Star Wars, Kinnikuman, Marvel, and even Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. A company can only produce so many different products in a year, and only has so much manpower to work on them all, it's only natural we'd start seeing a little less of the toku stuff.
They were kinda running low on back catalogue Riders anyways. Most of the popular Riders have been made and the only shows that really are lacking in figures aren't popular sellers. Sentai seems to have tanked and Metal heroes seems to be chugging along. Makes sense that they finally have to expand the line beyond Toku.
Yeah, pretty much this. Rider only really has J, Kiva, and Ghost left to have a complete set of main Riders, and all that leaves is secondaries and movie Riders, the latter of which seems to be getting a recent push with Kiva-La, Rider 3, and even Rider 4 getting figures. Metal Heroes does well enough to get a few releases a year, and the fact that Winspector is getting a retail release after the last few have all been online exclusives says a lot about Bandai's faith in that line I think. With Sentai pretty much dead in the water after years of underperforming though, that pretty much just leaves some assorted niche toku series like Garo and maybe some classic Ishinomori shows that haven't been touched yet.
I just go for whatever looks cool mostly. But I'll usually watch at least a bit of the show beforehand. The only thing I haven't done that with was the Kamen Rider X/Cruiser pack, because I bought it entirely on a whim and didn't realize there even were subs for the show at the time.
I also worry that due to the high price they'll chunk some uncessesary diecast in there which, combined with what looks like a lack of sturdy clips will result in an unstable connection to the inevitable Ninja Megazord.
>Rider only really has J, Kiva, and Ghost left to have a complete set of main Riders, and all that leaves is secondaries and movie Riders
Yeah that includes Kiva's forms, Other Hibiki riders, so yeah.
For figures, I go for what looks cool (in terms of general suit design or sometimes how it was painted/articulated).
For collectibles, I pick the ones with the most playability or the ones that make the best sounds in a belt that I like.
Anon, if you're still around, I do have a Sasword I am willing to sell. It's loose but in perfect condition. Biggest problem is I'm located in Brazil, but we can discuss a good price that won't fuck you up.
If you're old around here, I used to go by BR Soldier. Both Suri and Gigabeetle can vouch for me on twitter if you want. Just send me an email if you're interested.
Cute. Main thing i can't wait once i start getting some figurarts is putting them into zany poses.
Figures from a show i like and a design i like. I generally won't get anything from a show i haven't seen (though the exception to that was Alternative Zero because that beeman is beautiful and he was cheap as hell).
It's kinda why although Drive was just an ok show i really want to get so many of his forms, i just think they look so gorgeous in toy form.
Saw a display with this guy in it today. He looks awesome in person. Most of his body has the same shiny paint that Drive did, but his chest and upper arms are all in wonderful matt black.
I disagree but respect your opinion, I think it'd look amazing as a figuart.
I'd really like a Reaper though.
Well the same creature designer for Drive was one of the SIC sculptors, Takayuki Takeya.
>Placed an order on Mandarake last night
>got an order confirmation a few hours later
>shipping notice an hour and a half later
That's the quickest turnaround I've seen from them... time for Canadian Thanksgiving to fuck it up on the receiving end.
Asked Custom's General and Thread's Dead.
Two questions for two different projects.
What's the best way to create a compound eye effect?
I'm working on an custom Amiibo, and I'm trying to make a Braweler into a Kamen Rider.
What's the best way to paint an Rainbow effect on a figure?
In this case the line on the Tire of SHF Drive?
Core medals are heavier than I expected, and I should have ordered the belt extender.
>Am I missing out not getting any of the Drive figuarts?
Been a while since I bought any Toku SHF figures, I think I'll pick one up at NYCC for fun. Any recent releases in particular that really stand out from the rest? Show doesn't matter, just want something cool looking and well made. Last Toku figure I purchased was Hurricane Red, and I absolutely loved him.
Shinkoucchou Seihou Hibiki was pretty much one of the best SHF Bandai put out last year. He's gorgeous, comes with a lot of nice accessories, and he shelfwarmed harder than any other figure in the line which was terrible but good for you since he still comes pretty cheap if you can find him. Also Kamen Rider Stronger. It's just a figure with a neat design, not a lot of accessories but he does come with an awesome electric punch effect piece.
If you're in the mood for Sentai you can also try and get Akarenger and Vul Eagle. They were the last two retail release Sentai Figuarts, almost a year ago. Both come with some cool accessories and have pretty awesome designs in general.
Get him while you can folks, you know he'll go fast.
Shinkoucchou Seihou Kuuga is one of the best Figuarts I own, it's a beautiful figure. But it was also massively in demand and sold out constantly so it's harder to find for a decent price.
The Gaim Figuarts were all pretty good too, no complaints for any of the retail ones. I'm partial to Zangetsu but some complain that the white color of the body doesn't match the suit from the show. As for Drive that line is all around pretty great, though Mashin Chaser and Type Speed come with the bare minimum for accessories unless you got the preorder bonuses so try and get those ones for cheap.
He's actually still in stock on AmiAmi and Amazon even. I've never watched Agito, but I'm considering picking him up soon since he looks pretty neat and makes a good partner for Kuuga.
I imagine at the very least Decade will probably sell gangbusters like Kabuto and Kuuga did.
Just keep in mind Chase has two different figures, one for his villain form and one for his actual Kamen Rider form from the last half of the series, which is an online exclusive.
That's not even mentioning Proto-Drive.
What gave you that impression? Kabuto sold like hot cakes, at least at brick and mortar level. Like, if you weren't there to pick him up Saturday morning on release there was no way you were getting him. I remember despair at almost not getting one, then finding the last one buried among other new releases. Kuuga was even harder to get.
Hibiki and Agito were difficult on the weekend of release, but have stayed on shelves since then after shops put out another batch. I'm surprised Agito didn't sell out, but I'm assuming Bandai churned out a lot more than Kabuto at the very least.
Kuuga also had a pretty fast reissue which helped. At least in Japan, although not that cheap.
I heard he was pretty easy to get via Bluefin in the states though, on Amazon. Was Kabuto available the same way?
Er, I actually meant Agito! Not sure why I said Kuuga.
That said, Kabuto wasn't too hard to get. Though, at the time when he was sold out on .ca (not sure about .com, maybe it sold out before .ca?), he was going for a bit above MSRP on Japan's side.
I think the single Dx eyecon like robin are only like 450 yen.
I'm just glad that we are getting the legend rider eyecons released with the regular gacha waves. It sucked how drive made it a overpriced set.
Anyone know if ToQger or Shurikenger will be the next show to be made into a Power Rangers series?
I want to know which one to buy up a bunch of stuff for to then sell forward to rangerfags when it gets adapted.
>they're incorporating parts of toq into dino charge apparently
Holy shit it just gets worse and worse.
Tridoron would be an exclusive that would come with a tyre combo that only works on it and will likely not come with a stand hole.
Speed is a general that's relatively inexpensive, available right now and is compatible with several different tyres, all of which have holes for stands.
Go for type speed.
If you can find for the Souchaku Henshin, you'll get more or less the same thing at a price that won't nuke your wallet. Articulation's a little worse than Figuarts, but you also get the Armored Form.
I've got the Drake, and I'm more than satisfied
Ghost Driver is like 90 bucks on Amazon. Worth it? I got my drive belt for like 29 bucks there.
I think the Ghost Driver in japan is like 60 bucks? Thats what I got from the toys r us of japan website.
