We need an /___/ abreviation edition
Are Revolminis welcome here? I mentioned in the Revoltech thread that I think the 4" format's perfect for the Metal Gear franchise because it has so many characters, units, mechs, vehicles, etc. The only problem is that Kaiyodo's shit at making a decent amount of figures for anything that isn't Evangelion.
If another company picked up the MGS rights with the intention of delivering a GI Joe-style product line with all the major characters from all the games represented, generic soldiers, vehicles, Geckos and UGs, maybe even Metal Gears, etc - who would the best choice be?
I need a camera.
Got the JP mercenary bootleg. I was kind of impressed, excluding the belt (that is completly unpainted) the paint is quite detailed, lot better than the 50th line.
Toy Notch would be perfect.
They already made Lost Planet toys tht no one is talking about and likely are never going to release any mechs.
They claimed a 1/18 mech at $80 or somesuch that never materialized and only rose up in price from the initial announcement while, if memory serves, lessening in quality. The one vehicle that they did get out was one no one cared about because it didn't look like anything outside of Lost Planet.
That said, I do hope they aren't dead, we need some companies willing to go and try things. I miss Bridge Direct, even if their Smaug was shit.
Has anyone tried to replicate heads and weapons with clay and hotglue?
Saw the idea somewhere but I want to know if it actually works before wasting clay and glue. Not that is expensive or something but I don't have right now and dont want to buy just to throw it.
You know, make a mold with the clay then put hotglue in it. Does something actually usable out of there?
Those are both horrible materials.
Clay wouldn't be able to get nearly enough detail unless your subject's mostly smooth to begin with, and even if it was, you'd end up with maybe a handful of usable mold-makings before it'd break on you.
Hotglue is similarly bad for not having great detail and you'd probably end up having it melt slowly over time if it was anywhere near heat.
So, shitposting and troll feeding aside, anyone getting the 1:18 Aliens figures? I don't have any 1:18 experience so I have to ask how's the price to quality ratio looking? Anyone know if there are other marines planned, or are these seven the whole line?
I may buy them. The aliens are good, but a little fragile. The Marines look good so far. Powerloader is iffy, $100 isnt too bad.
The powerloader is definitely holding me back. I don't like it enough to spend that much on it at that scale, and I'd feel weird if that was the only toy I didn't get out of the line.
Though I guess I could just ignore the marines entirely and get a bunch of aliens.
This is literally the only picture of 1:18 Hudson I can find, so I can neither confirm nor deny that.
Picked up this Convention Tiger Shark for $50. Didnt have the figure. Otherwise it'd be $150+. But all I waned was the vehicle anyway
Is this awesome? Yes/No
Last month I picked up the SDCC Chimera and the orange TRU redeco
Is not that bad, not a real issue but you have to be careful. You just put the hands inside hot water before swap just for segurity reasons (so you don't have to make too much force minimizing the risk) is not that they will fall apart on its own.
Now about getting them considering you don't have other 1/18 stuff...I would tell you "No, stick to the 6 inches"
Why? Because the 4" alien figures are nicely done indeed but their main appealing is you can mix them with all the 1:18 stuff like Joes, SW black series, acid rain and get a good vibe. Like you know, they are the alien figure every Joe collector wants.
Having them on their own when the rest of your stuff is 1/12...I personally wouldn't do it (unless you really like one of them in particular) but of course is just an opinion.
Theyre nice, but for the same approximate price($25 - 30 shipped), get a much larger neca figure. Unless you want a small hive in a more manageable space, I dont see any benefit since you dont have 1/18 scale to mix with.
The wrists are bad to stick once in the joint . Takes a bit of gentle back and forth to twist them free but not snap the peg. Without tripodding the tail, a bit hard to stand.
I second that, also, is that a solid snake body? Looks like the sneaking suit.
>but I guess for customizers the risk of destroying the whole thing in the process is minimal
tell that to Jin
They are about that tall anyway, ult rock/leatherneck. Just are a bit wider.
BBI's Elite Force figures look great, but is it true that they only have back-forth swivel hips?
No wrists or ankles.
If the weapons arent soft rubber crap like the PTE ones, maybe I will pick some up. Some anon here had chopped up a few of those and made some cool gear extraction.
Size difference isnt terrible, but, hard to fit them into any vehicles. They look good but arent a perfect fit.
How else would I recreate some stupid moments from the games?
My complaints on the VS are mostly the weapons, nice but I have trouble with them falling apart/out the holster. My grey fox has poor shoulders, could come with a left hand for the sword at least, open mask head would have been great. Solid has some way oversized weapons.
Talking about customs, long ago I had a page with a wiki-like format that was all about customizing joes.
With images and videos of how to change o ring arms upper parts and such, but I lost it.
Somebody knows it? I remember most tutorials had a someway amusing fatty guy. Amusing because he was using the dremel while holding a Joe head with the fingertips.
What are some other modern figures that fit the Wolf Squad aesthetic?
I still need to get Sightline (no interest in Ace) and I'm loving the cohesive black/gray/red look.
>Revol minis are in the same scale range than joes
Except they're not.
They're too tall and too thick.
Only the head is 1:18 scale, which makes him look pinheaded.
Like someone mentioned, they'll have a lot of trouble fitting in 1:18 vehicles. Someone has him inside a 1:18 helicoptor and he just looks like a giant.
It wouldn't be that bad if they weren't so damn wide.
So you have three things going against the minis (art style, width, height) and thats why we don't see people going out to buy him for their Joes.
It's basically the same reason why we don't see a lot of mixing of GI Joes from the Vs, 80s, and 25th lines. Or DCIH, MU, and DCD's 3.75" lines.
Pretty sure I saw myself buying both Revol minis for just that purpose, and a few other people. They may look out of place in some vehicles, but they look pretty nice in battle-scenes. I mean, they're about the same shape/size as MU Hercules.
They are certainly slightly bigger but is close enough to put them together in the self or make some shots.
Of course if you put one side by side to see the difference there is difference but usually in poses they can do the trick, it won't be a perfect fit but will do the trick.
The same happens with DC multiuniverse or Marvel infinite series if you look them closely of course there is a difference but once they are posing they can work together.
Keep in mind, modern joes are giants inside this tomahawk/eaglehawk as well. Heck, no way to fit a joe in a 1/18 car without taking their legs off.
>Except they're not.
I never said they are in the same exact scale, I used the word range for a reason, because this guys are in a range around 4 inches. So Revol minis are kinda compatible, isn't perfect but neither terrible, besides real people comes in different sizes, pic very much related.
And the main reason people don't mix ARAH GI Joes with the new sculpt and modern sculpt is precisely the sculpt and in some degree the body proportions, the styles are very different , the minimal difference in size only bothers some dudes.
Holy shit, there's a monster coming off the helicopter.
I think he looks reasonable though. I like when they manage to make certain joes taller, like Destro, Night Adder, The Rock and Bazooka. I just wish it didn't have to come at the cost of knees and/or ankles every time.
Cap2 Falcon fits well too.
It's quite interesting how good he fits the GI Joe aesthetic because of the simple costume. Too bad about the reduced articulation and lack of actual weapons.
>Keep in mind, modern joes are giants inside this tomahawk/eaglehawk as well. Heck, no way to fit a joe in a 1/18 car without taking their legs off.
GI Joe vehicles in general are dwarfs. They've always look big, but the Mini is even bigger, making it look even worse.
Also, GI Joes have always had a problem getting into 1:18 scale cars. Even before the scale switch and this is because the interiors are way too small. The seats are positioned way to the front, as if for a little grandmother. So any adult male would have trouble fitting.
Also, you ruined your Tomahawk with that Gundam Marker.
>>>5240390 the main reason people don't mix ARAH GI Joes with the new sculpt and modern sculpt is precisely the sculpt and in some degree the body proportions, the styles are very different , the minimal difference in size only bothers some dudes.
I don't think so.
Again, I point out Mattel's first 1:18 line, which is actually 3.75" scale. Same with DCC's. Most of them were really well detailed, but are manlets compared to MU/GI Joes. It was a pretty big deal and still is, enough that Mattel corrected themselves (as did other toy soldier lines).
Nevermind there is a style difference AND proportion difference with the minis too.
Yeah, there will be people who will overlook the scale difference, but it is an issue with many, enough that children's toy companies responded to nerd demands.
>Also, you ruined your Tomahawk with that Gundam Marker.
Sure did. Now it cant hold any figures and missiles fall off the racks, and maybe if I am lucky a joe collector will pay $5 for it in pristine shape, now, lucky to get $0.50
For some reason is convinced myself I didn't like Lowlight, he's actually pretty awesome.
Except his scope won't stay on his rifle.
I don't have it, but have seen a cool repaint.
Disagree. OG Hit and Run from the Asault on Cobra Island is a better figure in that the jungle color scheme works far better than the character. Plus the etire appeal of the character is the string/mountain climbing gear stuff for climbing/hanging off stuff.
I mean, I do like the jungle camp in theory, but paint job itself is pretty lackluster and I don't care for the sculpt much at all. Now, redeco this 5074th HnR in jungle camo and I'd be ecstatic.
Just bought all of these. Planning on making a mini-dungeon with the Snake temple, the skeleton Spider, and the tons of tiny spiders. The Sea Lab'll be a generic Sci-fi area, though I've got to figure out a replacement for the periscope and the shark cage.
Also, Animal Planet items are currently not on sale at TRU.com, but they are still on sale on their Ebay. I was mad as fuck because they reset while I was in checkout on their website.
Would be great if they went "all the way" with the urban camo instead of leaving it out of the torso area. I don't think the backpack goes well with urban ops either.
Some of the camo choices in 50th are just weird. Especially team blueberry.
Not really a lot of Millitaries use blue or gray patterns for Naval or urban ops check out NWU or Chinese Marines to see it in the real world....it's more realistic than baby blue Jar Head but hes RAH so he gets a pass.
Nice haul. I may grab that spider and a scorpion set later. I dig the temple. Makes me want to hunt down the indiana jones jungle temple playset.
The scorpions are pretty bad from what I've seen, their claws are concave when you look at them from behind.
The Lost Temple of Akator is a fantastic playset, though it's a remold of a Star Wars playset. I'd also suggest the Akator Temple Race game, because the stairs have a decent spacing for 1/18 figures(or 1/12) and the game's gimmick is a perfect Indy style trap.
Basically, turn the top of the game and press down, a 'random' selection of stairs fold down to dump off anyone on them.
It's a shame we didn't get the full initial concept for this. Found this while hunting for a pic of the game, apparently they'd proposed a marble-drop function. Though if I had to prefer one versus the other, I'd go with the stair-drop instead.
Also, I really, really wish Hasbro had gone into stuff like this more with the Indy line. That's two separate "Deluxe" playset pieces combining to form a larger playset. Granted, it absolutely ruins the Temple Trap's gimmick(two panels flip up to chomp the person who doesn't remove the idol properly), but if they'd gone fully into the idea of multiple small dioramas connecting to make a temple run? That would have been amazing.
One day I might try and spring for the Well of the Souls playset Kenner apparently did, just as a basis for more temple shenanigans. Shame they're kind of bonkers, price wise.
Yes. They have swivel hips. They're still a lot of fun.
The "Elite Force Combat Command" figures from a few years ago had one or two with ball hips I think.
I like these because they're a bit more realistic than PTE.
Most have wrists and ankle or calf joints, it just depends on the mold.
I haven't seen this set in person, but if I do I will probably pick it up. The only thing it's missing is a 0331.
Has anyone tried out the Miles from Tomorrowland toys? I kind of want to grab this thing, and they've got some nice space ships.
Fished all that I have for now.
True Heroes' "Sentinel 1" vehicles work too. Just wish they are of better quality. They yanked the electronics out of this copter.
Can someone help me out with the gear this Iron Knife is wearing? I like his stock vest, but it's a little bulky and I really dig how this set up looks.
I also need to find him some new hands that can actually hold his cool rifle.
He's using the Combat Webbing that the GI JOE Slaughter's Marauders 7-pack Spirit comes with.
With a Pouch and 2 flash bang grenades added to the straps, those are Marauder gun Runner Task Force figures parts.
As for holding his rifle, eh it's a pretty bad weapon to try and get any hands to hold properly.
It is a shame this cant fit joes.
Wish the dumb shocktrooper wasnt so hard to get. Arguably the best modern joe figure, easily the hardest to get.
how are these? I really wanted one, but I lost track of them and had no idea they actually came out. I love Lost Planet 2 to pieces, even though I am sure no one on Earth remembers that game
I wish I could just get a cheap Alpine. they are as pricey (including shipping) as 2 three packs on ebay and Joes don't fucking exist on Toysrus.ca (yup, where I am) and I haven't seen any new ones "in the wild". The US website has them but not for delivery. FML.
I have two of the 3-packs with Alpine on the way and I'd be happy to send an Alpine your way at cost. Feel free to shoot me an e-mail if you're interested.
I also don't particularly need the two Shocktroopers in the set, so again, if anyone is interested in taking them off my hands at cost just shoot me an email.
Oh, and if anyone could middleman me a Marine Devastation set, or is army building the Shadow Guard and has a Gung-Ho to spare, I'd love to work something out with ya.
I passed on cap2 falcon and the avengers assemble nick fury at 5 below. Came back a week later. All sold except winter soldier.
Did grab a red skull and the leader at least.
Same thing happened to me. Who knew back then that Hasbro would abandon MCU 4" figures altogether? What I did was to shell out impulse-bucks for the Age of Ultron TRU repacks.
Can I recommend it? Nah not really. It's kinda pricey, being more expensive than 50th Joes despite lacking articulation and accessories.
Lets not forget these sexy bastards too.
Would be cool if they rerelease the fury and AV officer. A PoC AV rerelease would be sweet too. The extras that the retaliation lacked put it over the top.
Honestly, I feel like the semi-cohesive look of the Cobra troops is what the Joes are missing. At least to me. I like each Joe having their own unique looks, but I like a little bit of team coordination. Which is why I color coordinate my own squad because I'm a crazy person.
Also, more of Iron Knife.
Iron Knife is a bit of a sexy bitch.
I have to get out more this week before the snow flies or anything stupid.
I find Chuckles has slightly weird eyes..
He also looks a bit like Daniel Craig to me.
I have on a few figures, but most of the time 1) they don't really bother me and 2) there's a huge margin of error for something that tiny. But I totally get what you're saying.
"No need to worry, boys. You only gotta start runnin if I do."
Made a shelf for my 1/18's, mounted it a few hours ago, just posed everything.
Yeah the top part came out a bit rough, but you can't tell while looking at it from the floor.
can the standard GI Joe figure fit in the Avatar wheelchair?
So what should we expect come 2016 for GI Joe's now reduced to one wave of figures that are a single store centric exclusive not all towns have nearby?
Renegades Law and Order (with masked alt head that never got included with the figure)/Airtight/Techno-Viper
Flint (convention version)/two of the Desert versions of the troop builder version of Ultimate Duke
Python Patrol New Viper mold and Python Patrol New Crimson Guardsman two pack
Range Viper and Jungle Duke. Both have new color schemes
Wet Suit in Battle Corp colors and Python Patrol Trooper using new Cobra Trooper mold
Leatherneck in Mission Brazil Colors and Python Patrol Officer (using the new trooper body).
When it comes to sculpt and painting certainly are decent.
Although personally I don't like the color palette on most of them the colors are too light (Not a problem if you are into customizing/painting but for people like me that keeps the vanilla version it matters). But I guess is a minor issue and just a personal subjective opinion.
Wow...Bruder makes potatoes. 1:16 potatoes.
Id like to see the v2 rock and roll vault figure get a release. Stick him with a shadow tracker.
Money bags destro and poc beachhead.
range viper and crazy legs.
Airtight. Hazard viper. Zombie viper. Dont short pack it.
Retaliation combat ninja, crimson guard and joe trooper.
Foe vehicles maybe a mid size and small one for the 2 pack. Example, range viper and cobra twin battle gun VS vamp mk2 and steel brigade delta. Cobra Fury vs ram cycle. Would keep them from costing $50-60 a set hopefully.
Im glad the steel brigade got a reissue. The only set I have seen in the wild had a really messed up paint job on the helmet.
Its to make 1:16 Vodka. For your 1:16 Russian Bruder purchasers.
>have made stills before
>making a working micro still is possible
>soup can, steel tubes, burner plate, wire ties
>yet the production yield would only be +/- 10 fl oz a month
Hmm, redneck rampage diorama anyone?
Rather have Airtight with Law and Order, with all of the shit he was supposed to have to begin with.
Both are GI Joe Renegade design so there is a theme pack you could work with them. Toss in a Cobra Co. Private Security Guy with them for a troop builder.
Really don't want Hazard Viper re-issues unless he's done in Toxic Viper colors.
Fuck the zombie trooper. Overrated piece of shit.
The only decent Steel Brigade modern figure was the first one. The retool that was put out as a running change and used for all later versions of the figure was shit. The torso sucked and doesn't even hold paint right so the limbs look faded and shit.
I hated the whole masked CC concept. Thank god they released at least one figure of his unmasked face. I can use that for all my CC figures.
Zombie Troopers are only popular because they were short-packed in a wave that barely got released/released again as a Joe-con exclusive.
If they would do a mass retail re-release of it, people would stop bitching about it and see it's a shit figure anyway and not worth the hype.
That's not his face. It's a poorly done Joseph Gordan Levitt face that doesn't even resemble the actor.
And why would you want an unmasked CC? That defeats the whole point of the character!
The fun of that is that Cobra Commander can be whoever you want
They... they had the same torso (ribbed sweater that the Tacticool Snake-Eyes used first) It was only the arms and legs that got changed from the Shocktrooper versions to the same Tacticool Snake-Eyes parts for the 2 versions. The current 50th Re-Release uses the 1st one's Shocktrooper arms and legs configuration.
I ordered a few 3d printed guns in Shapeways, my first order, they were untested and I was pretty nervous but they turned OK and the package is in the mail now.
Do you guys have any goods coming in the mail?
The rest of the coolguys JUST reached the door.
I'm looking for a decently poseable t-rex in the 1:18 scale, or at least close to it.
I admit that I just put Lady J's head on the POC Destro parka body and people just think she's got a lot of down padding everywhere...
But would love a cold weather version (all we have is the Diana/Scarlett one and it's pretty much a bodysuit.
I see the maraders gear looks good. Are those joe heads or mtf with the gear? I still need to buy some gear and figures from them.
Thanks. I need to beef up gear for some of my figures. The vests look good. The hard armor is cool too but fits scifi stuff better I suppose.
Im currently a bit torn between buying some new toys or some new musical gear.
That Ace is worth it. Pop him in a smaller flying vehicle if you want him as just a pilot, but the guy looks awesome, his helmet makes him look kinda like a Cobra. I have him in a team pairing up with my Eco Force guys raiding zombie labs.
Did some toy dusting over the weekend and realized I hadn't messed around with the Deviant in forever, took some time to stomp him around the room and knock over some Joes. POC had such a great line-up of awesome vehicles.
Welp, time to get one for myself for Christmas.
I'm truly scared of wishing for licensed 1/18 figures now, thanks to Funko.
The horrors of war...
And buying cheap MISB joes from 2009. All the off them have that oily layer of leaked plasticizer and the elastic packaging bands have dried out, turning into dust.
COBRA squad composition
>Cobra Officer (aim for the shiny helmet!)
>B.A.T. the robot friend
>Kim, the standard-issue ninja
Do you prefer blue Cobra or red Cobra?
I found mine last year around this time at a comic store for $15. Didnt have the cyber viper, but, blind luck had it I had found him loose at a local con.
These at least were based on actual designs weren't they? Unlike their other "retro" abortions. This stuff all seems like peg warmer hell - unlike if they had released good looking firefly figs etc.
Finally found a third "troop build-up" set. Which is how many I wanted. It's a pretty great set imo.
1) What is that vest from and what originally went in that unused hole?
2) Has the three pack with the shock trooper been hitting retail yet? I think it's the only one I haven't seen.
1) Pursuit of Cobra Money Bags Destro's Steady Cam for the Mini Gun, same body as the PoC/30th/50th Iron Grenadier.
2) no idea
2. Yes, but, is the only desired set it seems. Has hit tru online recently but sold out within an hour or two.
Both. Blue is Cobra Global. Covers all operations.
Red as an elite assault unit. Shocktroopers, alley vipers, night vipers and crimson guards. A few crimson horseman and hiss tanks for the heavy support.
Black is the top, shadow guard and most loyal.
Specialized vipers, heat, night, rock, range, etc etc, fit in as specialized mercs attached for mission specific tasks.
Thanks, and yeah, not a bad little building. Another anon has one but grey, and an anon has the stairs and other parts put to good use. Nice finds for cheap backgrounds at the least.
>Has the three pack with the shock trooper been hitting retail yet? I think it's the only one I haven't seen.
It reached Singapore retail last month. Definitely a fast-moving set since Alphine and Shocktrooper are both popular figures.
Does anybody have the white Jinx/Kim and want to trade? I've got three POC Shock Troopers, or one Shock Trooper and a Zombie to offer.
Might be interested in other offers, also may have other figures to trade. Mostly interested in ninja figs, Vypra or Night Creepers.
firstname.lastname@example.org if anyone's interested.
Cocoon is from the Animal Planet Giant Spider Play set, which comes with the cocoon, a stone arch with removable web barricade, a lantern, a 5 PoA human, a spider sprue(I think either 16 or 20 white spiders on it), a warthog that's supposed to go in the cocoon(there's enough room for a 1/18 human if they've got enough articulation to curl up or all the little spiders), and a giant spider that 'walks' when you roll it along the ground.
Given the size of >>5252892 I'm considering getting 2 more of the Spider play set so I can have it stuffed with cocoons. Just have to figure out a way to make them drop, because then it's a properly horrific dungeon boss.
Me too. I'm getting the ROC grunts as mooks to fight Kamen Riders.
What Transformer class that are approximately the same size as G.I Joes/4inch scale?
Scout/Basic/Legends(careful on the last one, it's used for a lot of other stuff) all fit into 4" size class.
As to 1/18 scale, they're few and far between. Beast Era stuff is all supposedly 'in scale' with each other, and some of the animals are 1/18. There are quite a few motorcycle TFs(Armada Sideways for example) that are 1/18 as well, but there's not much in terms of larger vehicles.
Road Pig from G2 Laser Cycles fits the best. Needs a bit of cheating for TFP:FE Arcee and G2 Road Rocket.
Glad I'm not the only one having fun with the Shodo Kamen Riders.
I can't really recommend keeping 25th anniversary/ROC and other hasbro figures from that period in package. Most of the transparent bands they've used for packaging have dried-up by now. The bad part is when the bands go over painted areas; they will leech away the paint as they dry up. Speaking from experience >>5259946
Are they reusing some old 80s mold for this? Was thinking of getting some walkers for my cobra troops but these just look cheap. Might as well save the money for some chap mei stuff.
The Star Wars 1/18 line right now is explicitly being marketed for kids and is not having 'collector-quality' effort put into it.
Black Series 1/12 is what they want collectors to spend on.
Which is ridiculous, but it's less for me to be tempted by in the long run, so I'm ok with it.
Yeah, most toys today are extremely stable.
You really have to be living in an armpit and/or storing them in a sweat box for them to decompose like that so fast.
The fact that most toys are shipped in metal ovens and stored in non-AC warehouses for months before they're able to be purchased is a testament toward their durability and longevity.
Years at a time in an armpit though? Even stainless steel will degrade fast like that.
On second thought, I believe I prefer red Cobra, I mean, they just look awesome and imposing.
If these red shocktroopers had the shield, Id probably had a much harder time getting 7.
Recently moved and haven't had time to mess around with my joes. Watching the Walking dead got me in a mood to get out my zombie horde and take some pics.
Worked on a Toxic Viper v1 custom. I use him as the leader for the v2Toxic Vipers.
A new mysterious faction appears. Are they allies of Cobra or do they have their own agenda?
I am basically green with envy at your zombie horse. Kudos.
I'd like to see a GI Joe story/toyline where:
-Cobra Commander is in exile and no longer leading Cobra, he still has a small cadre of loyal crimson and black guards.
-Sepentor now leads Cobra and takes it in a more quasireligious and mystical direction, sort of like Cobra-la. Like summoning snake demons or something.
-Meanwhile, Destro and his grenadine army have become a hi-tech, sci-fi mercenary force that's now at odds with Cobra, too.
-GI Joe is now having to fight a war on two fronts against Cobra and Destro, who are also fighting amongst themselves.
Then we could give sci-fi and robots and monsters and all sorts of stuff.
A boy can dream.
I like it. If you wanna use the IDW mythology as a base, why not have Crystal Ball help Serpentor usurp power?
I wonder how likely a FSS IDW Crystal Ball is. There's gotta be more demand for him than Toll Booth.
Id love to see that too anon. All those aspects make the Joe universe so much fun.
That new 50th HISS tank looks great with the hazard vipers. Im going to have to order me an extra one to add to the zombie horde.
They're actually from a Wreck-It Ralph figure (http://www.amazon.com/Wreck-It-Ralph-Action-Figure-Hero/dp/B009JTUPJ4). Heated the arms up properly, stuck 'em in. About a 95% fit.
Does anyone know if toysRus has any of the new wave in stock in there stores?
I looked online and most their stuff is sold out and when I went there last month they only had the vehicle sets.
Go for it, man. The potential for parts-swapping is what makes Joes great in my opinion.
Man, I really wish another figure would use that black turtleneck torso. It would be great to army build with, but that snake eyes is a bitch to get a hold of at a reasonable price. I have plenty of the green turtlenecks, though, which were like the greatest gift Dollar General could ever give me.
Sorry, im fireplace anon, i guess that would be my name?
Here is another pic ive posted before i moved.
I never ever get a chance to go to TRU (yay for being employed?) but I went this morning and saw pic related buried in the back of the collector area. $21 after tax for 3 sweet looking Joes is a pretty nice grab. Too bad I couldn't find the Gung Ho pack...
Also is in the retaliation 3 pack. The one with the rd and black ninja has the retaliation buck, but the one with airborne and mouse is the black turtleneck.
I found one in August, none since. All the other 3 packs but most had been opened and parts swapped.
I don't even bother trying to check in-store, I just rely on Joes showing up on TRU's site. Rock Rampage set has restocked a couple times so I picked up two sets, and then I managed to grab a Marine Devastation restock while in the middle of a conference call, haha.
Alpine and Gung Ho are both awesome look figures, but they both suffer from limited range of motion in their arms. Can't get a good two-handed grip on their weapons. They look so good though that I can forgive it, haha. Gung Ho does hold his grenade launcher wonderfully though, and it's awesome how he has spare frags stored on his left thigh.
Shadow Guard are awesome looking. Very simple repaint but very effective. Love the idea of a super elite, stealthy unit who still carries a cavalry saber into combat, haha.
"Why would a mountain soldier need a spear?"
"Works for me!"
Modern Joes do not exist outside of Toys R Us for the time being.
When the next movie comes out, Hasbro will either go back to business as usual, change the format to something new entirely, or not do a toyline at all.
The lighting and my poor camera skills are making it look brighter there than it actually is in-hand, but yeah, even so it's a very vibrant color. Something more like what Gung Ho's wearing in the OP image would definitely have been preferred.
This image is a bit more true to life, though still a little brighter than what it looks like in-hand.
Jesus, look at this fucking custom Duke. This is the craziest scratch building I've ever seen.
Not my favourite Gung Ho either.
I have been hunting this one for some time, no luck at all.
Damn, these guys are so sexy.
Nice, 3 good looking dudes for 20 bux is a great deal, I finally found a Shock trooper, is in the mail right now.
that's really impressive
Looks better than most 1:6 dolls. Never seen webgear that looks like it actually fits.
